Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SPRING sale, or to see some new SPRING arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. New code -- SUNNY gets 20% off of $150 or more. Offer valid in J.Crew retail stores and at jcrew.com only. Please print out email to redeem offer in J.Crew retail stores. Offer is not valid at J.Crew Factory stores.

No free shipping on this one. At least not yet. You know j'who and their rolling promos.

  2. And of course not applicable on 3rd party products, such as the Mackintosh red coat ;)

  3. And of course they hid select items once the code goes up. You can search for the Thomas Mason Shirts, but you get only a ghost page, once you click on it. At least they didn't remove their bestselling schoolboy. Whatever

  4. Closet Crisis - Yes, the usual no third party exclusion.

No JC for me this weekend. It's tax organization time.

  5. online restock! a lot of the coats are back.

  6. I'm up working one of those insanely long days thanks to multiple timezones where my company works and I saw the code just now too. Everything I want is still full price and normally I'd be thrilled to see this code. But I'm taking a business trip to the U.S. soon and since Canadian orders usually pay more than 20% in duty and taxes I will take my chances on what is available in the B&M once I am stateside.

I am going to see what JCAs find in-store this weekend and will also check with my PS for availability at the stores that I can visit on my trip. Thank goodness for the wonderful JCAs. I don't know how I could shop without y'all.
    :)

  8. There was a small update in the sale section this morning but I am feeling a little burnt out after the 30% off sale promo.

Re: the current 20% off promo - I wish they would offer free shipping as well, that would make it a better promo.'

@Closet Crisis - haha, are you stalking the red Mac as well? ;-)

@Wolfy - I am still seeing the Thomas Mason shirts when I go into the shirt section.

  9. Funny, if you mouse over the red writing of the "SUNNY" code on the main page, a little box says "free shipping", but a mock checkout shows shipping charges apply. April Fool's, JC?

JCA's have mentioned this a million times - 20% with no FS is no deal at all.

  10. Where did the ladies Timex watch go?? The watch straps are there but no watch. Is it hidden? The only item I would've bought on the 20% off.

    ReplyDelete
  11. @Laura - Timex watches are 3rd party products so they are not included in the promo.

  12. Pfffft. 20% and the shipping charges cancel earch other out. Net gain for shopper = 0. Ah well, I will just have to hold tight and hope that by the next round of % off, my Saturday sweater in pulp alabaster will still be hanging around in my size. ....

  14. Just a tip to the Timex watch searchers...

The bands that j. Crew sells fit on other Timex watches. I picked up a very simple silver Timex watch with a white face and bold black numbers for $40. They sell them at most Macys, Sears, and watch retailers. I just take the original leather-like band off and slip the bright J. Crew ones on. Perfect! And budget friendly! Here is a URL to mine:

  15. OT, but can anyone comment on JC's wool gabardine pieces? I'm interested in the pencil skirt; I don't recall seeing any reviews on their suiting before.

  16. I stopped by my local B&M (Carmel by the Sea) and bought a few things.
    1. My favorite find: Scallop lace shell! Amazing...so feminine. It fits TTS, however you will need to wear a tank under it. The lace goes really low and my bra would show. I bought 2 for me...and one for my sister.

    2. Lace-stripe tissue tee in olive tree. This is a nice fitting shirt. Again will need to wear a tank under because it is see through on the lace parts. It does fit TTS.

    3. Tea-stained dobby dress - I did have to size down on this one. I think it is supposed to be slightly big, but it looked like a balloon on me. I usually buy size 4-6 dresses, but I went with the XS on this. It looks so vintage and it is sooo soft. I really like this dress and purchased it with the Mickey card.

If anyone happens to be in the Carmel/Monterey area, the sale section of the Jcrew in Carmel is really good. Not a good selection of shoes/accessories, but fully stocked on everything else. Plus, great great staff, super friendly and helpful :)

  17. Maybe you can get the shipping refunded with a screen shot of the FS silver lining found? Just a thought...and there's always the red phone.

  18. I went to my B&M to get the Delaney Eyelet shirt and it is a cute shirt for spring and summer, very well made and not see through.
It is lined and the lace detail is very pretty. The fit is a little funky though. It is wide at the hem and not nipped in the waist at all so rather boxy and it is cut lower that I expected. It is relatively short, which is good for wearing it untucked. It would look great belted with a long flowy maxi skirt.
I also bought the Eyelet Embroidered tank and I love it. Last year I wore my grand ruffle shell with everything and this has similar fit. I originally wanted to get the lace-over tank but I found the straps too long and the armholes hanging as is the case me with many JC tanks.
I also got the orange paisley skirt. Really have no need for another pencil skirt but it is very pretty. The fabric is substantial and it is lined.
I hate unlined skirts. It is a little more defined in the waist than say wool double serge but same fit hip wise in my regular size 4.
In addition I placed an order for the Lucca sandal in mango but they are back ordered until Apr 20th.

  19. Am reposting just in case. In store prices seen today:
    - Eyelet tunic $19.99, both the chambray and the white.
    - Delaney eyelet top (the short-sleeve one) $49.99
    - Arianna dress $49.99
    - Rainy Day utility jacket $79.99

  20. Louise, only a one of Thomas Mason shirts shows up. If you performed a search two days ago there were at least half a dozen. Last night you could search for them, but you would get a ghost page when you clicked on them. Yanked off their site, I'm sure.

  21. Re dinster sale posts:

arianna dress and delaney short sleeve blouse

Would I order my perfect shirt size for the top? Is it "formfitting" or already boxy? Not sure if I should order up to keep a boxy look.

And for the dress, which I have had my eye on since it came out, I have been a 0 in dresses and skirts, so...x-small? Is xx-small more for petites?

Thank you so much for any and all help! <3

  22. Stene- What colors did you get in the scallop lace shell? I have the vintage fatigue and i LOVE IT! =)

  23. Happened to be near a Crew, so I popped in. HOLY COW, sale was additional 50% off!! Lovely SA told me only a few stores had additional percentage off (last week it was 30). She said it was because her store has a lot of sale inventory, but I'm not sure that is true. Their sale inventory wasn't amazing. I live near a much bigger store with much more inventory and they have no additional percentage off. But it's in a more affulent mall, so maybe that has something to do with it.
Props to the SA who spent a lot of time making sure prices were right and she checked in back for a few other things I wanted. While others on line were complaining (which I can understand - they didn't have enough staff). Anyway, picked up the vintage cotton mixed lawn shirt for $12.50! We've commented on the poor quality of this shirt before, but it is so cute - $12.50 is worth it:)

  26. In Columbus:

Easton store had a HUGE amount of sale stuff. Lots of 3/4 painter tees for $9.99- same with those crosstown tees.

Polaris had significantly less to choose from.

Unfortunately no add'l % off, but I was pretty surprised to see the button-back striped tees were marked down to $24.99. Both stores only had the gray and pink; Easton is your best bet to score one of those.

  28. @ Pathos: the Arianna dress runs wide and boxy, I would get the smallest possible size if you are a size 0.
Same goes for the Delaney top (which is so pretty by the way, I love the white), I got one today in a size 2 but I also fit into the size 0. The neckline is low so I wanted to minimize cleavage by sizing down (I am currently a size 4 in tops). It is on the short side but I was able to tuck it into my skirt, and it nips in a bit at the waist, which is nice (a BIT, not a lot). The shirt is also lined so I would not size up or else it might just look 'thick', it that makes sense. Hope this helps!

  29. I know this has been mentioned before re: Timex watch, but American Eagle has a lookalike and I got it at the AE outlet (in Gaffney, SC... they had several left) for $15. They also have a ton of cute watch straps... mine came with army green and I also got a hot pink one. For $2. I'd highly recommend it!

  30. I know the JCA exchange is Monday, but I wanted to go ahead and post this now just in case someone was out this weekend specifically looking for this dress. I found a NWT Cecilia dress in the white color at the clearance center today. Size 4. I bought it and then when I got home, realized I already had a white dress too similar. Anyone interested? $85 shipped :) Email me at musingsonmtn@gmail.com

  31. Also...just posted some pics on a few new arrivals and sale items HERE.

  32. Visited my B&M today and the sale section was packed! ...with clothes and people! There was an additional 50% off on sale items here on Long Island which was awesome. I felt like a kid in a candy store. I picked up 3 tops, 2 leather belts, and a nail polish all for $65! The prices were amazing. I tried on the Vivette dress and LOVED it. It came to $45 with the extra 50% off. I may go back for that tomorrow if I can think of a good enough reason why I need another dress =) Would you believe that on the website it is still $128!? that is more than an $80 difference! So crazy.

  33. Crewgurl, which BM did you visit? I was at the Walt WHitman Mall today and there were no addl % off.

  34. Sunny- I went to Smithaven and it was pretty good. If it's possible for you, I would say it's worth the trip. I am wondering how much will be there tomorrow though considering how many people were digging through those racks this afternoon. Sorry Walt Whitman wasn't running the 50% promo... seems silly that some locations are doing it and some are not.

  35. Lots of sale @ OKC - Penn Square! I picked up the Cadabra cardigan $19.99 ... bonfire cardigan $49.99 ... double wrap black leather bracelet $4.99 ... military style jacket $19.99 ... I haven't seen this much sale in a while ... I used my 20% coupon from the catalog!!!

  36. I was just at the Tysons Corner store and they were packing their sale section full! I am going back tomorrow b.c they had boxes waiting to be processed.

  37. Any shoppers in downtown Chicago, to report on in store promos?

And thank you Dinster for dress feedback :-D

  38. Pathos: I was at North Michigan Avenue on Friday. No additional off signs posted. You needed a Mickey card or the printout of the email re: 20% off $150 purchase (or display it on your phone) to get discount. Now that I'm reading some stores have an additional 50% off, I'm rather disappointed. Visited my local B&M in the suburbs yesterday and it was the same - no additional percentage off sale items.

  39. If anyone spots the Vivette dress in their location (size 8, provence pink) please let me know!! TIA!!

  40. Crewgurl - I got the weathered sage and the desert pink. They were the only 2 colors at my B&M in my size. I need to increase my tan significantly before wearing the desert pink, but I have already worn the weathered sage :) I am so jealous about the vintage fatigue...I loved it, but they didn't have my size!

  41. @ birdie butter, what's the military jacket for $19.99? do you have a style number?

    thanks

  42. nani - The jacket that's now $19.99 is the brigadier utility jacket. Irl pics in this post. It's still $69.99 online.

  43. thanks gigi! i might stop by a b&m tomorrow to check it out...or i'll probably just call first and put it on hold.

  44. Thanks gigi, that is the correct jacket! @nani I would definitely size down.
