J.Crew's Fall Arm Candy & More!

J.Crew's 770 blog posted some close-up shots of their Fall 2011 accessories collection. (Click on the above image to view larger.) They also share:
We snapped a few of our favorite accessories from our fall ’11 press presentation—from polished purses in unexpected patterns to bold bracelets and bangles in the season’s best hues. If only Bonnie could have nabbed one of these…
So many pretty things! I really love the classic shapes and candy shades of the newest handbags. I am going to need to save up, starting now! ;)

J.Crew also shares some of their make-up secrets for their Fall 2011 Presentation:
“We wanted the girls to look fresh, clean and dewy…The skin was left almost bare with just a slick of polish on the cheekbones, the bow of the lip and the eyelids. For a soft flush of color; the lips were matted out with foundation first and then with a pop of pink or melon just at the center parting of the lips. The brow’s were filled in and brushed up for a totally natural look with the eyelids left almost totally clean…a warm shadow for definition and just a curl of the eyelashes with one coat of mascara.”

Give hair a fluffy dry texture with a slight bump at the crown, then gather hair into a ponytail keeping hair loose over ears for a pretty profile. The finishing touch on each girl’s ponytail was a J.Crew tortoise barrette!

Face: Laura Mercier Primer & MAC Strobe Cream.
Cheeks: Stila Convertible Color in Gerbera & Petunia for cheeks.
Eyes: Laura Mercier Rose Gold Metallic Creme and a slick of Vaseline with Mabelline Great Lash Mascara.
Lips: MAC Lip Erase, MAC PRO OJ & Genuine Orange lip pencil or Make-up Forever 18C lip pencil.
What are your thoughts on J.Crew's upcoming accessories & handbags? Do you like how they styled the models at their presentation?

  1. Loving what I can see of that bright red handbag in the bottom right photo.

  2. Loving the orange/red bags and that little structured boxy one. Not loving the hair, so will remember *not* to follow direction. Found the hair & makeup was a little too 70s.

  3. I love a nice red bag. Last fall there was a gorgeous cherry colored one in the Talbot's catalog - and it turned out to be a "prop" that was not for sale. Boo! The Stila convertible colors are nice, too. I still like my hair brushed, though. ;)

  4. Those bags and jewelry are very 2007/2008 J.Crew. LOVE.

  5. Me likey the bright orange-y bottom left one with the gold chain - pretty!

  6. I like the bag with the leopard print flap. I have enough red bags that I love and would not bite on an orange handbag. At least that's how I feel at this point.

But I absolutely MUST have that foulard-print skirt under the orange coat in the bottom-right photo. Emailed my PS to get me the details.

  7. xoxo, I think those are pants. I wish it were a skirt! The fabric is fantastic! And that melon colored coat is so cute too. I love collar-less coats.

  8. I love the handbags and the bracelets - really pretty!! The jewelry is a welcome departure from their current biker-babe selection.

  9. Nice information & sneak peaks! I like the make-up & hair tips, but as usual, will need to modify for my everyday non-model life.

I think I need to see "Bonnie & Clyde" again- I don't see a lot of the connection to this era unless it's the sensibleness of the mood? This isn't my favorite time period, although I'll keep open minded. :-)

Is that Jenna wearing my favorite "nerd chic" look? No one does it better than our JL. I'm doing a spring spin on this with an old Liberty print blouse. I'll Polyvore it!

  10. I have the Kate Spade 5-Points Camille handbag in a bright, fiery orange - VERY similar to the bright orange bag on the bottom right. I goes with green, navy, brown, yellow, etc, and I get nothing but compliments on it. I have planned my entire spring wardrobe around this bag, and I can see myself getting loads of mileage this fall, too. Aficionadas, this bag will be well worth the splurge. You won't be sorry ;)

  11. I *LOVE* the leopard flap bag! That is so cute. I'm also excited to see a new direction for the jewelry. I just hope a couple of those styles will work for my tiny tiny wrists.

Must remember to save for fall!!

  12. Loving the sneak peeks at handbags and shoes! Cheers for MAC products getting a thumbs up from the Crew, Canadians represenzzz. Now I know where I can get the orange lip that's all abuzz this season.

  13. I'm glad they are including the makeup they used! I have always LOVED the orange/peach blush that has been in the last few catalogs and wondered what it was!

  14. tamara, you are right, they are pants. I hope they make a skirt from the same fabric. I'm not interested in a pair of shiny, patterned, cropped pants. Will get exponentially more wear out of a skirt in the same fabric.

I notice the shoes in the pic you linked to are looking like the Fluevog Macchiato that have been out for a while.

  15. OK xoxo, now you have me wanting a skirt like those pants. :) I sew a lot, I might have to just make myself one. Just did a quick fabric search on the internet and came up with this prospect. I don't know how big the repeat is though. I feel a project comin' on. :)

  16. tamara, that is a gorgeous print. I learned to sew as a pre-teen but haven't made anything for years. I am thankful that I did learn about fabrics and garment construction, it has been incredibly helpful when shopping for well-made clothes.

BTW, I have a pair of Chie Mihara sandals on my blog that remind me a bit of the J.Crew Collins that you love so much.

  18. Wait, here's something better. Bad picture because of the lighting. I have a feeling if I launch an all-out fabric hunt I can find something almost exactly like that J Crew fabric. I wish J Crew clothes came in plus sizes, then I'd grab the biggest pants they have and make a skirt out of them. :) (There's not enough fabric in the regular sized pants because they're tapered.)

Those Chie Mihara sandals are very cool! I like them all but the Soldat's are a knockout, IMO. Sold out indeed!

  19. tamara, yep, the soldat's are the ones that made me think of you and the Collins.

Lovely fabrics you've selected and the second one with the price is quite reasonable. Please share the details if you do make a silk print skirt.

  20. I think I'll have to do another sewing project ... removing the sleeves of a coat and adding new ones made of leather. I foresee lots of fun sewing this summer for my fall wardrobe!
