Extra 30% off Sale & Free Shipping ($150+) Is Back!

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Tamara (in this post), as well as Erika & Ketan, who shared the following update from J.Crew this morning.

J.Crew is offering customers 30% off all sale items (no min) and free shipping on $150+ with promo code OURTREAT. This offer expires Thursday, April 28, 2011. The fine print includes:
*No exchanges, no returns on items marked as final sale. Offer valid in J.Crew retail stores and at jcrew.com only. Offer is not valid at J.Crew Factory stores. Offer does not apply to previous purchases or the purchase of gift cards. 30% off discount applies to J.Crew sale and Factory sale online items only. Offer valid through Thursday, April 28, 2011, 11:59pm ET. Free shipping offer applies to orders shipped via ground shipping totaling $150+ after 30% discount on J.Crew sale and Factory online sale items and before shipping, handling and taxes are added. Savings are applied at checkout with code OURTREAT. Offer not valid on phone orders. Cannot be combined with any other promotion. Limit one promotional code per order. Details of offer are subject to change.
As many of you have pointed out, this offer applies to Spring Sale online (click here to shop) as well as to J.Crew's brick & mortar stores, but not at Factory.

Will you be checking out the Sale section? Are there any items you are hoping to see or to get?

  1. Final sale AGAIN?? With the same old tired merch? Thanks but no thanks.

C'mon JC, you need to give us at least 50% off this time to clear this stuff out.

  2. I didn't see pieces marked as final sale. But I do agree that there should probably be more cuts to get rid of the stuff. I was thinking of getting a pair of the dark oak Waverly chinos that have been on promo for months, but this morning they went back to FP. Oh well!

  3. Apologies for the "Final Sale" online. I updated the post so its not confusing. :)

What happen was I read the first line of the fine print ("No exchanges, no returns on items marked as final sale") and thought J.Crew was returning it for the duration of the Sale. (Also, at my local J.Crew store, to get the additional 30% off, sale items are Final Sale.)

  4. Well, I would have liked to get a french terry hoodie, but paying for shipping cancels out the discount. I can be patient and wait it out. Nothing else interested me. ....

  5. Not interested, unless some new items show up. I would love to try a pair of the Waverly chinos.
I was wondering how they fit. They look slim. Does anyone know if I should size up?

    ReplyDelete
  6. maryeb, On the Waverlys you should wear your size or down a size if you're between sizes. To me, they are the best chino in years. They are slim on the leg without being tight; slim enough to not need ironing and look great dressed up or down. I've worn mine with every shoe from the Langford high heel oxfords to heels to wedges.

  8. Was hoping for this sale so I could pick up the Everly Cardigan in another color, but alas my size is gone.

  9. I bought the confetti sweater and dress but I don't plan to keep both. I was glad to get the 30% off without seeing that red "final sale" warning on my confirmation page.

  10. I bought two items full price last week so I don't have any budget left for older winter stuff but I will reconsider if they have new markdowns during the sale.

  12. Super excited to get the Everly cardi and confetti sweater. I've been watching both these pieces, especially the confetti sweater - org. price $148 was WAY above my budget! Now with the markdown, I got it for $63! Can't wait to wear it! :)

  13. There were a couple of popbacks this morning that I was contemplating, but ended up not getting anything in the end. I just didn't want to spend the 150+ to get free shipping. However, if there had been free shipping/no minimum with the 30% discount I would have bought at least one of them.

  14. I was up super early this morning, before 5am CDT, and I saw a handbag update but little more. The handbag section went from 7 items to 26.

I re-purchased a pair of shoes and a bracelet that I'd bought yesterday, plus one other tiny item to give me the free shipping. I'll mail yesterday's purchases back and still come out ahead like $40. I should have known 30% off was coming. :)

Now if only there would be more updates, I thought it would happen this morning but I guess not. Maybe tomorrow. J Crew has turned me into a morning person!

  15. maryeb--I agree with the chorus--the waverlys are great! I take the smaller of my two sizes but I don't put them in the dryer. I have 4 colors and wish they did a navy as I would get those too. They are slim but not the carrot shape of the scout and not tight like a minnie. For a looser/baggy look I love the men's chinos and stantons.

  16. There is nothing in the sale section. LAME.

  17. I hate paying full price and there is nothing good on sale. Why don't they at least slash the price of some of the items that are backordered until kingdom come?? I cannot see spending $100+ on a pair of CANVAS wedges that aren't even going to be available until June, so I guess I'll keep waiting...

  18. J Crew isn't the only merchant that plays around with stock during promos. I noticed when Ann Taylor Loft had the 40% off everything promo their espadrilles were curiously missing. Sold out? Apparently not, they're back now, all sizes are available. Why don't they just have exclusions rather than remove items completely so you can't even buy them at full price?

  19. For those shopping, I've udpated the links to irl pics.

That $150 minimum is really annoying. There's no way I'm loading up my cart to the tune of $215 to be eligible for free shipping when I only want 2 things. Free ship for $100 or more would be far more attractive.

  20. maryeb, I second what Elizabeth said, I love the Waverly chinos. I took my usual size and they are a little bit loose without looking sloppy. Very flattering and comfortable, I have them in every color. So much for trying not to buy multiples anymore.

Nothing of interest for me in the sale section today. I got some great deals in stores the past couple of weeks traveling on business. Such a delight to actually try things on in-store again. I have a few new arrivals in my cart but no rush to place an order. I order the casbah bikini last week but it hasn't even shipped yet.

  21. I think one of the best deals in the sale section right now is the Collins leather platforms, only $70 with the promo. I have both colors and I love them. I'm actually surprised so many sizes are still available, IMO that was the best of the spring shoes and I saw them advertised on other web sites, I thought they would be super popular. I'm changing my user image in honor of them. :) (I'm showing the tawny orange even though if you can only get one pair I recommend mink because it's very versatile.)

  22. I missed the henna color waaaay back in the Fall, so I got the V-neck cashmere. Since they weren't on final sale, I got two sizes, since lately I'm loving the slouchy v-neck sweater over white tee look...I think the henna color will be so pretty over khakis and denim.

Honestly, if the items were not returnable, it would have been a no-go for me too.

  23. Very confusing sale. I purchased two items last week without the 30%off, still waiting for them to arrive. One item was a dress, with free shipping. Now I can get the same dress, 30% off, still free shipping and no final sale listed when I did the checkout. I think I will wait and see if the dress arrives tomorrow, it fits..I like and then repurchase and save myself some money. It can be a full time job :)

  24. OT: Summer Rewards just arrived in the mail; to be used before 6/15. I'm in the Pacific NW, BTW

Of course, after my order was just released :( ....((sigh))...

  25. Thanks everyone for the info on the Waverly chinos!! You've been very helpful :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Huh? Final Sale is back, but not advertised on the sale page? So, only customers that no what to look for or see final sale on the product, will not be duped. So, not cool.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Is anything final sale in the sale section? The three things I purchased this morning are not final sale.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Tamara, they may be final sale. Anything with a .99 at the end (pre 30% 0ff) should be. It looks like they are really trying to make it difficult to determine this though.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hi tamara,

I'm debating about the Collins heels. Do they run TTS? Do you have the suede ones, too? Are the colors on the website the same IRL? I got the black leather Lindys in my true size (10), but with JC open-back heels I sometimes need to SU. Wondering if I need to do that here.

I know this is a lot of questions! My apologies if you've already talked about this before.

    Thanks!

  30. I was at the Town Square mall in Vegas this morning and the sale items were 30% off, making them final sale, the SA said. They had quite a few Jackie cardis, tees, pants, dresses and scarves in the sale section.

  31. Re: the Waverlys, beware if you're going to order petite ones... I loved the regular 0 in store but with just ever so slightly gaping waist like I often am with Regular 0 bottoms, and ordered Petite 0, thinking it would be perfect. Now I wish for Petite 2 or reg 0 again, because my bum feels like there is no room for it in the Petite 0. I guess with a shorter petite rise there really isn't any extra room in there... otherwise though, I love the pants.

  32. In case anyone is stalking a popback of the Gemini Hobo, I've put a review and several photos up on my blog here. There is also a link to the product page. This bag has been popping back occasionally on the large sale restocks, that's how I got mine. A really good deal for the discounted price, if you have use for a large bag.

    HTH someone. :^)

  33. Re: final sale - I think they either forgot to change the copy for the details this time around, or they are covering the in-store final sale. Every item I clicked on this morning that was final sale before is no longer marked as such. Just a guess, but I don't think they're trying to pull a fast one here. Just a lazy copy editor (like that would ever happen ;) ).

I might actually bite on this one if I get lucky on popbacks or new markdowns. As of right now, I can't find enough to meet the minimum for free shipping.

  34. WPZ-Sandy, thanks for the heads up about the petites. I usually order petite or short because I'm 5'3". Regular length is usually too long because I don't like to wear anything higher than a kitten heel.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Patmos, here's the scoop on the Collins...

I also have the Lindys and I took the same exact size in the Collins and they fit perfectly.

IRL the mink is as it appears on the product web page on all of my monitors, it's a beautiful medium-tending-toward-dark neutral brown.

IRL the tawny orange is much more clay-colored than it appears on any of my monitors. I expected a pale color, it's actually darker. I would have preferred pale but the true color is fine.

Best thing: they are not marked as final sale. :)

  36. Has anyone tried the Everly cardi? Looks pretty and unique but I am afraid it would be either too thin or too cropped...

    TIA!

  37. tamara: Thanks for the scoop on the Collins! At an extra 30% off, I may just have to get some.

  39. The Collins is cute, but that heel looks mighty high! I have a couple pair from last summer, Alecia leather peep toes and the Ares platform, both over 3" high and both not exactly easy to walk in. I love the way they look, I just find myself not wanting to wear them very often.....how does the Collins feel to walk in?

  41. I wouldn't want to walk around outside in the Collins (or Lindys or any of the other shoes like them) but I find them quite comfortable for going out in the evenings and I even wore them in the office one day. The thicker platform helps to offset the high heel, I think it's a little thicker than Alecia and Ares. They are definitely not my daily shoes though.

  42. I placed three orders on Sunday, later in the day the first one was "Releasable" and the other two were "Released" and they're still in those states tonight. But the first order now shows a tracking number so I hope it really does ship. I was worried, not understanding the difference between the two states. I saw the pertinent threads but it appears "Releasable" has never really been sorted out. I'm cautiously optimistic now, and I'll feel better when UPS's tracking shows some actual movement of the package.

  46. OperaRach, in just the past week I've witnessed 3 updates while they were happening.

On Sunday 04/24 the update occurred a few minutes before 6am EDT. Free shipping was still in effect so when I found an item I wanted I checked out right away, the timestamp was 6:04am EDT. :)

On Friday 04/22 the update occurred later. I can see by my JCA posts that it happened between 6:42am and 7:09am EDT.

I don't remember the exact time of the third, but as I recall it was between 6am and 7am EDT.

I've been logging on at 5:45am EDT, which is awful for me because I'm in the central timezone and not a morning person. :)

  49. Just want to add that on 04/13 at midnight EDT (according to my JCA post) I witnessed an update along with the introduction of a new promo. Now that I'm familiar with how they withhold items from certain promos and move items from the regular sections to the sale section at the start of a new promo, I'm expecting an update when this most recent 30% promo ends at the end of the day Thursday, whether or not it's replaced with another promo.

  50. Got the Belmarin pants for $13, the Tulip Ruffle cami for $20, the ribbon cami for $20 all at the University Village store in SEattle. They had a good selection of sale items on hand with the extra 30%

  51. I woke up at 4am CDT and accidentally turned off the alarm so it didn't sound at 4:40am, and then I didn't wake up again until 5:47am CDT. I'm wondering what I missed, I see that there were some updates. But also some new items, like the Revele mini which I was hoping would go on sale. I want the fabric for a project, not sure it will work so it might go back. I saw other items that had been in the regular sections now in the sale section this morning.

  52. I see the Indigo Blazer Cardigan on sale online but wondering if anyone has seen it on sale in the stores? My B&M will price match online, but I'm just wondering if it could be less. Also, any new markdowns in store?
