  1. I would consider this offer, but there's no update! Lol.

  2. No update = no thanks. But it's not like I need to be buying anything else anyway -- I went on a planting bender this weekend because the weather was so gorgeous here! (Well, except for those pesky tornadoes. ...)

Still have not rec'd notification that the order I placed Friday morning has shipped. I'm on pins and needles wondering if it will all come.

  3. I bit on the black Jenny dress (a great deal with free shipping too), but only because I realized this weekend that I didn't have a black knit dress for the summer. That is essential! I practically live in knit dresses once school is out!

Elaine: Love the new pic :) Glad you are okay after all the bad weather that went through your area. I saw some videos of the tornadoes on FB and they terrified me!

  4. Thanks! :) It's actually an old pic, a wedding photo ... one of these days I swear someone will take a decent picture of me! lol.

Yes, the twisters did a serious number on a cattle farm less than a mile from us. I've seriously never seen anything like it. Hundred-year-old trees ripped from the ground with a rootball 10 or 20 feet across ... pine trees that must be about 150 feet tall with all the tops snapped right off in a line. Went out for a drive after it blew through and it was like armageddon. So many people with enormous trees on their homes. :(

And me, like a dingus, sitting in my kitchen and thinking wow, 'I've never heard the wind like that before.' Next time I'll watch the news a bit more closely!

  5. No update, nothing I need, I'm "shopping" the JCA Exchange this morning and anxious for new arrivals in-store :)

My 2 orders from last week haven't shipped, waiting for the shipping notifications. Pop-backs are always like Russian RoOulette for me, sigh.

  6. looking at the knit-du-jour pant--anyone know how these run? tts? anyone own them and like them? thanks, in advance, for any help:)

  7. There's nothing to buy without the re-stock!

    ReplyDelete
  8. mrs anketell, I tried them in store and they weren't very flattering but they run tts imo.
I tried to contact you because I found a luxe baseball tee in a M in the lighter color this weekend and put it on hold in case you were still looking for one!!!!

  9. nope. i bought a few things in-store this past thursday. but there wasn't much that was appealing when seen IRL and just not much in final sale online that i like or need.

  10. Ema! Thank you SO much for thinking of me, when you saw a Luxe Baseball tee! I actually DID find one (well, I didn't, they did) and i love it. Thank you, again, for thinking of me on that item!!! Love this blog:)
The knit pants---they would SEEM to be a perfect weekend pant--just looking for something like that all my "weekend comfy pants" are black leggings/pants and i don't have any grey colored ones. Also maybe like the elastic bottom...?? Not sure what to do!!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Ema, were the pants "slim fitting" or were they baggy, like sweatpants? thx!

    ReplyDelete
  12. I just realized that I tried the ultra-knit slim pant and not the knit-du-jour. Sorry for the confusion!

  13. Has anyone tried the Colette knit dress? It looks like it could be a fun casual dress or a sloppy, oversized t-shirt.

  14. Nice that they extended the promo, but I still don't plan on purchasing anything.

  15. I just read lots of reviews of the perfect fit mixed tape cardi and everyone says it runs TTS but when I saw pictures of it on some TEENY TINY people on their blogs - it looks like it runs small! Any opinions out there? I'm a little busty but small boned and not sure if I want the XS or S. TIA!

  16. RE Knit du Jour pants-

I have two pairs of them and I love them! They're super comfy, but don't look sloppy like sweats if you want to wear them out. I pull mine up a little, like mid calf, since the bottoms are elasticized. They will stretch out a bit over the day, so you could size down one in these. HTH!

  17. RE Mixed tape cardi-

These definitely run TTS; don't size down, they'll be too tight!

  18. @ jbird

Thanks! When you say TTS do you mean TTS to perfect fit tees or other sweaters? I ask because I wear an XS/2 in EVERYTHING except perfect fit tees which I always get a S in because i find the knit pretty clingy. TIA!

  19. J Bird: THANK YOU!! I was hoping someone would get back to me. I usually would wear a medium in "lounge pants" i just don't want them super tight---if i go with a small. then again like you said, they stretch out. Did you go with your usual size? I am getting the grey--would look cute on weekends, with a t shirt and jean jacket and flats, i think:)

  20. @ Mrs. Anketell

I tried the knit du jour pants on in store and they were a hot mess on me. The rise was too long and made me look like I had a diaper on. Not to confuse you - I just wanted to give my 2 cents. I too was hoping that they would be a great weekend go to but they weren't... and yes definitely size down. since they're not final sale it's worth a shot - they might be more flattering on you.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Sorry - I felt like my last comment sounded snarky - I meant I hope that you have better luck with them than I did! Who doesn't love a dressed up sweatpant?

    ReplyDelete
  22. OperaRach: thank you, excellent point. going with one size down:)
i would, like JBird mentioned, go with your normal size on the mixed tape cardigan.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Mrs. Anketell

sorry - normal size perfect fit or normal size everything else - I realize for some this is the same but I always size up to S for perfect fit tees. Thanks again and good luck with the pants!

  24. Well hot damn, my entire order from Friday has shipped -- including the dahlia double-serge skirt and the stadium-cloth peacoat! Here's to hoping they're not someone's grody returns!

    ReplyDelete
  25. true, the perfect fit tees are a little snug and you could size up. so maybe to prevent it from being too tight...size up, ?? now we are both confused, haha!!

  26. Tweetle Beetle: I ordered the Colette dress as a ride along a while back and liked it a lot. It is very soft and comfy! However, the fabric is thin so it is not very forgiving to the bumps, if there are any lol. BUT, since it is supposed to be slouchy, the extra fabric helps a bit, I think. I would say it runs TTS. I take an XXS or XS at Jcrew depending on how fitted I want the item. On this dress I got an XXS and it just fits, doesn’t look as slouchy as in the product image. It is short so it doesn’t leave much room to adjust the length. So if you want a more fitted look, I would say size down. I returned it because I wanted to wait until it went on sale. I reordered it with the 30% off sale and FS but went with the XS this time for a slouchier look and to be able to adjust the length a little bit more. HTH!

  27. Opera Ranch-
I order the same sizes as you do from what you have listed. (XS in tops, 2 in perfect shirts, and small in fine ribbed tees.) I also always order small in JCrew sweaters. I have a mixed tape sweater in a small and it fits perfectly. I am 5'5", 115 pd, 34A, broad shoulder and long arms. The length on the arms is perfect, not short. I can button it up and the front tape lies flat but I am flat chested and have no hips or belly. I can see a curvy gal wanting to size up on this however. HTH and sorry if this is TMI!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. @ Mrs. Anketell
I know - so confusing! Thanks for your input!

@ pathos - SO helpfu, thank you. Not TMI at all. I think I will definitely go with the S (or gosh maybe even M).

YAY for JCA's. Sizing help on this blog has been crucial to my J Crew addiction ;)

  29. Stopped by the Madison Avenue store and the 30% off was gone. It looks like they had some new stuff on sale like the Madras schoolboy blazer ($99) and the confetti stripe dress ($89). Also I don't know if it has been mentionned already but the tweed skirt like the Rialta jacket is on sale for $79.99

  30. Horribly OT, but...

Did everyone else know that MD was married? I haven't spent much time contemplating Mickey Drexler's home life (but how fabulous it must be in that big house in the Hamptons!), so I didn't even know he was married. But he is, and his wife is a psychologist who focuses mainly on gender studies.

She wrote an article on the pink toes controversy of last week.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/peggy-drexler/do-painted-toes-make-the_b_850104.html?ir=Style

I'm really not trying to spark debate again, but I have seen numerous articles about that ad in the last week. Personally, I'm over it, but it was interesting to know a little more about MD's personal life. They must have some interesting discussions out there in the Hamptons!

  31. Interesting! I don't recall ever even wondering whether he was hitched. I guess I assumed he wouldn't have time for a spouse, lol.

  32. A personal shrink? How handy it is to roll over in bed and have someone figure out what the hell is wrong with you. Lucky bastard- he has it all!

  33. I broke down and bought the taffeta brooke skirt in black. It is 23" long, lined in silk, and comes with free shipping. How could I resist???

    ReplyDelete
  34. Opera Ranch - Definitely get the S and not the M. I'm a 36D/size 8 and wear the M perfectly. My friend who is a J. Crew 2 and small chested wears an XS. So by deduction you'd likely want the S. :D

  35. I think I am the only one... but I love the lace-stripe tissue tee!! I know a lot of people felt the fit was off, but I was really happy with mine. I have it in navy and I just ordered it again in olive-tree. Anyone else a fan?

  36. I have some of my FINAL SALE purchase reviews here!

And more reviews to come! :)

  37. FINAL SALE is over! No more "no returns" message.

  38. Catrina - I think many knew Mickey was married. It was briefly discussed in some PR articles that went around a year or so ago (?). I believe he has a daughter and a son. A son for sure, who works or used to work for Gryphon.

Elaine - Yay on your ship coming! *lol*

Crewgurl - Yogagirl just posted a beautiful pic of the lace tissue tee w/the pink woolen Minnies here.

Rosie - Good info! I've been on the site, but didn't even notice.
