  2. of course, i just made an order last night, would have opted for more with the 30%off.

  6. I don't plan on taking advantage of this promo. There really isn't anything I'm interested in, not to mention the fact that it is still Final Sale is a major turn off for me.

  7. Can anyone comment on the Herringbone Cargo dress? Fit, fabric, comfort, color? I believe this dress is pictured in the March catalog with a very cute belt instead of the self-tie belt it comes with and I immediately loved it but wanted other JCA's opinions before I purchased. TIA!!!

  9. Great timing. My Dh needed some short sleeve tees for spring and loves the Factory graphic tees, they are uber soft. Can't beat them for $7 to $13 a piece after the code.
Nothing for me though. Maybe one day I'll be able to order women's wear with a hope in hell of it fitting *dreams*

  10. I haven't bought too much lately. I'm trying to hold out for fall, but I grabbed the Icon Trench for $130. I think that was a good purchase. And I bought a Jackie cardi set for $50 total! Good scores, think.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I am only eyeing a bunch of tees and with the free shipping minimum being so high I think I will pass (unless one coveted item popsback...)

    ReplyDelete
  12. @ nonickname, I reviewed the Herringbone Cargo dress on my blog, shoppingonthefly@blogspot. I like the dress; fabric is cozy, fit is flattering, very comfortable. I tried on the XS though (the only size available), so I would get the S for more comfort. Seems true to size, or at least true to J Crew's practice of vanity sizing.

    ReplyDelete
  13. no nick name: re the cargo herringbone dress....It is really cute but really really short. I am not sure how tall you are...I am 5'9" and the dress barely covered my backside.

Chloe from thechloeconspiracy blog did a great review and modeled it IRL on her blog a few weeks back.

    Hope this helps!

  14. There's nothing in the sale section I'm interested in. I'll wait for Spring Sale to come back.

  15. Very bored with the same lingering offering. Not even looking unless there is a huge update and new sale items.

  16. I'm considering the finespun slash V-neck tee. Has anyone tried this? Is the grey completely see-thru

  17. I got the Delaney eyelet trim shirt on the last promo. . love it! Very good bargain, well made, fits true to size.

Last time, I also got the button-back tshirt in green. A real waste. Terribly unflattering, shapeless around the chest, sleeves stood out like shoulder pads, ew. I'd say it's probably flattering only on the very skinny, small chested.

Jackies for 34.99, in some pretty good colors now. You don't do better than that, do you?

    ReplyDelete
  18. So they are having 30% off and final sale in store too? Can anyone confirm?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Anyone tried the french terry zip up hoodie that's on promo for $45? Noticed that it goes down to xxs so I'm wondering if I should get my regular small or size down? Also wondering about the marled lace-up hoodie. I'm wanting it right now for baseball games, but it's not going on sale. Is it worth the splurge? Thanks!!

  21. no nickname, herringbone dress pic here. I am 5'6" and the dress was a tad short. The fabric is nice and thick, and loved it otherwise. HTH

  22. Has anyone tried Giovanna wedges?

    ReplyDelete
  23. @nonickname
I love my Herringbone dress. I actually bought the slate and the greenish at full price, returned the slate because it wasn't as dark as I'd hoped, and re-purchased it at 20% off sale. Its a great dress. I like to roll up the sleeves a little for a more summery look. It flatters me because I'm hourglass. I am a size 10, but had to get the Large. I did have some trouble with the dresses in L fitting differently (one like a tent, one OK) but the Medium was clinging to my behind so I had to get the L. I just wash it in hot/warm water and it fits great. Looks good with the braided studded belt (green) and I haven't tried it in the herringbone with a different belt yet. Definitely worth it 30% off. You'll wear it in multiple seasons.

Oh! and I'm 5'7'' and I found it short but not too short with tights. In the summer when it warms up we'll all be ready for short dresses :)

  24. Do they always start promos late at night? I was downloading images from J Crew's web site, I think I first saw the promo at midnight CDT. There was also a minor update to the sale section as well. Are they doing evening updates now? Does this mean I don't have to get up early any more???

    ReplyDelete
  25. Ivana, I have the Giovanna wedges in both Sand Dune and Boulder Grey. They are very cute and fit TTS for me. I bought the Cleo wedges last year very late in the season and loved them so I was more willing to try these when they came out. I like the height these wedges give without the painful high heel.

  26. I think J.Crew has ESP...or I've just been shopping there so long that my brainwaves are synchronized to their online marketing. Wasn't even aware of this sale when I logged on to buy a replacement white tee and, lo and behold, the boathouse shirtdress and brigade henley are discounted bigtime. Woo hoo! If only that buffalo check jacket was available in my size...I've been checking back on that one for months to no avail. Was also able to pick up the studded leather belt for $14. Awesome :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. tamara, they often start the promos around 9:00 or 10:00 p.m. PST (so midnight EST) but the actual sale updates don't happen until around 5:30 a.m. Eastern. That's what I've seen so far anyway. I saw the promo last night but wanted to wait and see if any new markdowns happened. I don't see any. I haven't bought much if anything on these "sale on final sale" promos since right after Christmas. I bought a couple Ever Peacoats while they were still pulling new stock and stopped right after. I don't like the returned stock and this stuff has been around for months. They should mark it down another 40% and get rid of it, its old.

The 20% promo did get me because it applied to new items but I was not a fan of paying for shipping. I don't know who is paying full price when there's no promo. I've pretty much waited for the applicable promo to buy new and avoiding the final sale.

  28. fyi The Schoolboy Herringbone Blazer in Aged Driftwood was $99.99 in store with 30% off. No mention of final sale.

Only size 2 in my local B&M

    ReplyDelete
  29. Thanks much for the info, Elizabeth. I will continue to get up early then. There are 3 items I'm still hoping to get. I'm not even buying any more spring clothes now, just fall stuff. :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. @Lisa_Groves, SIZE DOWN on the french terry hoodie! I ordered my usual Medium and I was swimming in it. When I returned it, the SA said they have heard from a LOT of people that it runs huge. HTHs.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm going to wait it out 1 more day and see if there's a bigger sale update. If not, then nothing for me.

I don't like the high min order and there's just not $200+ worth of stuff I *really* want on sale right now. Sigh...........

    ReplyDelete
  32. I'm shocked that there are so many Collins shoes left, looks like every size! I have both mink and tawny orange and would eagerly scoop up other colors if there were any. With the 30% off they're only $91, a fabulous price for that shoe IMO. If anyone is interested, I take a 6.5 in just about every other makers' shoes, I got the Collins in 6.5 and it fits perfectly. The open back and peep toe give you back that little bit of size J Crew's small-ish sizing takes away.

  33. @ fidele

Did you find the fit of the green button back tee to be the same as the striped button back tee? Just wondering as I kind of liked the slightly baggy fit of the striped tee and am not sure if the plain one fits the same or not as well. Thanks for the review!

    ReplyDelete
  34. @Ema
There was final sale with 30% off in my b&m today.

    ReplyDelete
  35. OperaRach, I found the solid color button-back tee to fit the same as the striped version. I actually really like the green version - to me, it looks like a true military green.

I have one of the striped (pink) in XXS and one (english saddle) in XS. I got the green in an XS and it fits the same as the english saddle. It is slightly boxy on me, but I like it (especially for the current sale price).

  36. I caved again, but got some good basics that I can wear through the summer . . .a few Jackie shells, two cardigans, and two other shells. Six things total, four of which are final sale . . .fingers crossed those fit! And actually ship!

  37. Off topic, but does anyone know of an especially good JC factory store? I'm stalking the factory bazaar tunic (which is a dead ringer for the original) and it is 40% off in stores, but neither factory store in the entire state of Ohio have it. Can anyone suggest a factory store for me to call and do a charge send?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Lauren, I've only passed by this store, never gone in, but it's in a very large and very nice outlet mall in the Chicago metro area.

    Aurora IL: 630 851 8150

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hi OperaRach --

I'm guessing it's the same, but I didn't try the striped. I live far from a B&M, so mine was a chance internet order. Small ts usually fit me, not tightly, but this was bigger than usual, too.

  40. @ Catrina

Thank you - that is super helpful!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Thank you Elaine!! So good to know!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Lauren, if you find it, can you tell me if the fabric is the same as the original? I just love that cotton/linen blend -- the cotton sateen for those specialty items, not so much. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Lauren, I was just in Orlando and went to one of the outlets there. They have 2 in Orlando alone. I don't recall if they had the dress or not, but it's worth a call.

    ReplyDelete
  44. @ Lisa_grooves: I am waiting for the marled lace-up to go on sale too, I tried it on and absolutely love it. If I hadn't the jaspe hoodie (which is very similar but more lightweight) I would have bought it fp (it is still fp in store too, I just checked). If you have any special reason that could justify the purchase (like the baseball game that you mentionned) I would go for it.

Back from the Rockefeller Center store (thank you Tracey). The sale section is pretty big but I haven't noticed new items on sale and prices seem to match the ones online. Exceptions that I noticed: the featherweight cashmere in light spermint is $79. 99 before 30% off and as someone else reported the schoolboy blazer in aged driftwood is $99.
Spotted: 2 rainy day jackets in a size 2 in the green color for $59.99 before % off. HTH someone!

  45. Twice today I've put Miller boots (the mid-heels) in my shopping cart and then after a few minutes of waffling closed out the window. I really like the way the boots look but I'm unsure of the sizing since some people have indicated that they actually run larger than usual for J Crew. Also I'm not sure if that heel is really walkable, I walk to work. Probably by the time I decide that I really do want them they'll be gone, but I'm just not compelled to push myself over that edge, if you know what I mean.

    ReplyDelete
  46. @Lauren

I have seen the bazaar tunic (within the last 2 weeks) at the Howell and Birch Run crewlets in Michigan. Great Lakes Crossing Outlets (also Michigan) just opened a crewlet on Friday so they may have a larger selection! Good luck!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I see the Sherpa zip hoodie, brought back at FULL PRICE. Now, if they only had one in warm taupe... :)

    ReplyDelete
  48. Oh my god I'm such a J Crew web site stalker now! I did notice that they've come out with a new featherweight cotton cardi, it looks really cute though I'm not thrilled with the colors. I love my ones from last year, the featherweight cotton bling-button cardi.

    ReplyDelete
  49. @tamara, I have the Miller high heel - I ordered my normal J.Crew size and they fit fine. My foot is wide - with a narrow heel. The high heel are very comfortable. Walking through school hallways, shopping, night out - always found them to be easy on the feet. Hope this helps some.

    ReplyDelete
  50. nlymburner, thanks for posting that the Great Lakes Crossing Crewlet is now open! I was there in February and saw the "J. Crew Outlet Coming Soon" on their mall directory sign, but there was no mention of when it would actually open. Now I have an Crewlet to go to when visiting my sister! :)

  51. Bellevue Square (Seattle area) B&M has a good selection of hawthorn green Jackies. And, they are $10 less in store than on line ($39.99 before 30% off).

Also a pretty good selection of the striped tee with the lacing on the side.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Karen, thanks so much for your information about the Millers. I went ahead and ordered them. They'll look so much nicer than the boots I'm currently wearing (and will put away soon, it was 65 here today!). I got the mid-heel Millers, would love to get the high-heels as well but they'll have to wait, there are a few other things I'm still hoping to find. Thanks again!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Lauren - they had a bunch of those tunics when I was at the Loveland, CO factory store the other day too. Good luck finding one in your size!

I just can't bring myself to order final sale. And, in the last week, I had two sweaters develop holes. One is a featherweight cotton cardi from last year, and the other is the cashmere femme cardi from last season. Both gently worn and washed (though I've only worn the cashmere sweater twice for short periods, haven't even washed it yet). Really doesn't get me excited about buying anything from JC at the moment. I might check out the B&M but I don't think I'll be gambling on online final sale.

  54. About the reappearance of the sherpa zip hoodie--can anyone comment on what apricot mist looks like IRL? The website photo makes it look almost white, with pinkish sherpa and ties, but the name suggests something more peachy. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Hi Cara - I'd say that it's a very light peach, almost ivory. Pretty color. I don't see any pink in it.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Thank you so much JCAs! I scored a bazaar tunic dress from the Birch Run store in Michigan. The SA was really nice, too.

  58. Some further markdowns in store, spotted today at Tysons Galleria:

    - Delaney eyelet shirt (long-sleeve), the olive is $19.99
    - Delaney eyelet top (short-sleeve), $29.99
    - Tulip cami, $29.99 (mostly the cream left)
    - Delilah skirt, $39.99
    - Lace stripes tee (?), $9.99 (fit is all wonky on this one, IMO)
    - Cotton Lace shift dress, $24.99 (!!!!!)
    - some comfy drawstring pants, $14.99
    - Crinkled Silk Caspia dress, $49.99 (!!!!!)
    - Merino linen studded cardigan, $59.99

    ReplyDelete
  59. by the way, all prices I listed above is BEFORE the additional 30% off.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Dinster: Thanks for the in store price updates. Really big difference between the online prices and B&M.

Has anyone tried the Delaney short sleeve top? It looks like it might run big. The eyelet is so pretty.

    ReplyDelete
  61. shopalot,

I'm actually wearing the Delaney short sleeve top right now! I have the white one and love it-- for once, a white top that's not completely see-through! It's a steal for $21 in-store. It does run large though, but it's meant to be boxy; you could definitely size one or even two sizes down if you want. HTH!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Thanks, Jackie! I am going to the store today to give the Delaney a try.

    ReplyDelete
  63. big late update today... still nothing I want. Boo.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I'm getting tired of getting up early. I'm also kicking myself for not getting my desired items earlier. I didn't realize at the time that I wanted them.

    ReplyDelete
  65. MASSIVE update this morning in every category and lots of new markdowns, it was hard to process! I had a ton of things in my cart but weeded it down to just one item, the Emelline shoes which are new to the sale section and not final sale. I had to do some major weeding because I'm still hoping that the 3 things I'm most eager to buy will pop back. I struggled with the suede Collins, now marked down to $129.99 so with the promo are only $91. I might go back tonight or tomorrow to get them. I wish the leather Collins had come in more colors.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I see the 10 tall Velvet Ruby in weathered wood popped back. Does anyone have the 12 tall? Or seen it in a store? If someone finds one that isn't defective I'll pay you well for it, your cost (which I'm assuming will be $69, the current sale price) plus shipping plus $50 for your finder's fee. Yes, I want this jacket. :) I do PayPal. tamara dot chicago at yahoo dot com.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Tamara- have you seen the Collins (leather) IRL? Just wondering what your impression of the color(s) would be...I am eyeing them too. TIA :-D
