Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SPRING & SUMMER sale, or to see some new SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  2. I visited a store on 7/7 and the additional 20%-final sale was still in effect. I did an update on my in-store 'sale guide'.

If you're shopping sale online, you're invited to visit the more comprehensive final sale guide if you haven't already.

  3. Dear J.Crew Customer Service Staff:

I'm writing this because I feel very frustrated due to the fact that Petite Sizes are unavailable at the store. This past week I have been returning and ordering items like crazy because I cannot try on the petite sizes to find out which size suits me best. Because of this I have to wait until the minnie pant arrives in order to try it on and see if it fits.

I honestly love J.Crew clothing, but to have to spend so much money on shipping and return fees is becoming very inconvenient. I am seriously considering to start shopping elsewhere so that I can try on my petite sizes in store and decide whether to buy the item or not without having to spend sp much money on shipping charges.

I wanted to try on the Petite Twill Minnie Pant in a size 00 and it turned out to be too small, now I'm ordering the size 2 in hopes that it will fit me just right. However, my 20% off discount for opening a J.Crew Credit Card was already wasted ordering an item which I was unable to try on first at the store.

I am very upset about this. I hope that this will be taken into consideration next time and allow for the stores (especially the one on the Aventura Mall in Miami, Florida) to have the pants in petite sizes and not only regular sizes

  4. At my local B&M the following are on sale: navy minis are $49.99. Fluerette Bow Cami is $49.99. (FYI, I bought this, and even posted a pic on my blog. Love it!). Eyelet boe blouse is $29.99 (!). Fiesta floral tunic is on sale (can't recall price on that). Island paisley sweater is down to $69.99. Pencilnskirts in the fleurette and the ink blossom are $59.99. PLUS still an additional 20% off!

  5. I will be heading out to the Durham, NC store this afternoon, so I will report back ASAP if I find anything other than the usual suspects. Last time I checked (?Wednesday?) that Dauphine tweed jacket in a size 8 was still at the Raleigh, NC store just waiting to be bought. $99 - 20%, final sale. ;-)

  6. Hi JCAs - if anyone sees the watercolor lily shorts, in a size 0, when they are out and about this weekend - could you please let me know? TIA!

  7. Elaine,
Would love to hear what you find. I may go this weekend or next to Durham....

  9. I was in yesterday for returns. At the Ann Arbor store, the 20% off, final sale is still in effect. Tons of tees (yadda, yadda) but I saw some goodies that aren't on sale on the web. All colors of the flower mosaic embroidered tunic are 50, the ink blossom studded tunic is 50 or 60, and the twirled metal and crystal necklace is ***$10+change*** after the % off! Lots of hair accessories for women, and a wide variety of polos, tees, and oxfords for men. I noticed there were some XSs and Ss of the turquoise gingham oxfords (mens) on sale for around forty before the % off, if anyone was looking for those.

I may have to go in to pick up another color of the twirled necklace since it's relatively simple and deeply fun, and such a great deal! AA had black, brownstone, and gunmetal, so I may go back for the brownstone, which reads yellow IRL.

  10. Oh, I saw the turquoise gingham in both the mini and giant check.

  11. No free shipping code, huh? It's sort of odd to go this long with out one...

  12. I was in the store at 347 Madison Ave in NYC yesterday. There is still a lot of sale merchandise left but it's extremely picked over. I was looking for the Linen silk pocket cardigan ($29.99 less 20% in-store but still $59.99 online) and they had several but all were snagged and torn - luckily the sales rep helped me place a red phone order and I was able to order a "fresh" one for the same price - plus s/h, but beggars can't be choosers :)

I wish I could comment further on the other sale items but much of the section consisted of one or two of each item in random sizes. I guess they're clearing out to make room for fall!

  13. I mentioned this in another thread, but I went to my local Crewlet the other day. There was really nothing of note that hasn't been mentioned before. The sale section, however, really made me laugh. I guess they had gotten in a shipment of regular retail graphic tees, the ratty, recycled "usual suspects" that we've seen wallowing in the retail sale section for MONTHS now. The hilarious part was that they had hiked the price up to about $30/shirt! I pity the poor girl who falls for that trick.

The only good thing I saw there were pairs of their black toothpick jeans, which I have and LOVE. These are super-flattering and comfy. Currently they are $9.99-40%! If your store has them, it is worth trying.

  14. seeking a free shipping code! I can't justify paying an additional $30.00 for an item between shipping and sales tax. I wishhhh cardholders got free shipping perks!!!

  15. The Palo Alto, CA store has a few Hockney Satchels left in the weathered wood color. They are marked down to $149.99 plus the additional 20% off. I got mine yesterday and I LOVE it! The leather is sublimely soft. They also had full sizing in the Indigo Microstripe Shirt, Ink Blossom Pencil, and a great selection of thin belts on sale.

  16. I went to the 5th Avenue store (NYC) yesterday and the sale section is still full of good deals. They had tons of the moto torque cardigan in both coolors for 49.99 before the 20% off and the unfamous fringe tunic for 9.99 (size 4 and up). But the main reason why I am commenting is that they had received a shipment of the scalopped zipper cardigan in both colors. It is fp but if you tell the sa that it's on sale on the website they will honor the price and apply the 20% (but it will be final sale). I got the black one for $56. It runs small and it has a small percentage of wool so if you plan to wear it into the fall I would size up.HTH!

  20. Just got back from Tysons, VA B&M. They're having 30% off and final sale! There's a lollipop jacket in a 0 if anyone is looking. Also PLENTY of daisy day dresses in all sizes.

Rose, thanks so much for the FS code! Finally! :)

  21. OT but I received a hard copy of the lookbook in the mail today. It's pretty thick, with a 'bronzed twig' colored cover with 'Fall 2010' embossed on the front. I imagine it's probably the same one that stores have. Most of the pictures are the same as the online lookbook but there are a few new ones. Keep your eyes on your mail - it comes in a large (5x7, maybe) black envelope.

  22. I just went to my store, and they had just marked sale to an extra 30% off (final sale of course). But I scored some great pieces - sunshine peonies sweater was marked at $30, Sconset Plaid shirt was $20, a pair of broken-in boyfriend chinos was marked $10 ($7 woot!). There were a lot of dresses and skirts actually as well. It seemed like more had been put out than I had seen the past 2 weeks (maybe lots from online returns?). Anyway, just in case you were thinking of going, it was a pleasant surprise. They're obviously trying to clear out before fall stuff hits (July 26 according to my PS).

  23. shopwithm,

which store where you at please?

Also, did you happen to see that sunshine peony sweater in a Large? Thanks.

  24. The store in Copley in Boston is extra 30 off sale as of today. They had a good selection of necklaces marked down to 19.99 and 12.99. Cashmere cardigans for 99.99 and cargo pants for 19.99. Also navy blue schoolboy(?) Blazers for 49.99-only large sizes though.

I was in there last Friday and they had more marked down since then.

  26. OK girls, I'm reporting back from the Durham, NC store, where sale items are now an extra 30% off (yay) but of course they are final sale.

(Also wanted to mention tha the site was acting very oddly a few minutes ago -- I saw some mega-old popbacks and every sale item I clicked on brought me to the home page. Something's afoot!)

There was a lot to see but things were a bit picked over. I didn't get sizes/prices for everything, sorry!

Here's what I can recall seeing:

    Solid lieutenant jacket

    Rogue Ruffle Dresses
    Knotted Starfish Dresses
    Impressionist Floral Pencil Skirts
    Fleurette Pencil SKirts
    Inkblot pencil skirts
    Wildcat Ombre pencil skirts

Tees out the yingyang of course, including:
    Several tissue ruffle tanks
    Scattered flower henleys
Sequin necklace tanks, all 3 sizes/colors

    Seaside madras shirts
Tons of fringed tunics, both colors
Perfect shirts -- tie-dye, watercolor pastiche
    Paper poplin perfect shirts
    A few Indigo microstripe shirts
A few cotton check skirts (gray, one dark purple)
Flower mosaic embroidered tunics, all colors/sizes except XS (this runs large, IMO)
    A few Petal vine shells

A few pair of vintage matchstick jeans marked down to $19.99

A few pair of vintage toothpick jeans marked down to $19.99

A few pair of white matchstick crop jeans marked down to $59.99

Twisted chiffon caradigans (I saw navy and purple)

    Canterbury bells cardigans
    A few Linen silk-pocket cardigans

  31. I received the black envelope (same one as silver lining described) today.

Why do you think there is one fuschia colored blank page in this black catalog? I wonder if some books have a code printed on it.

  32. @Jackie: How was the sale selection? Was it picked over much? I go to the Fair Oaks B&M instead, simply because I'm under the impression more people visit Tyson's :P

@Debra: You might want to consider sizing down for the fringe tunic. I'm an 8 in perfect shirts, but I had to size down to a 4 in the fringe tunic (and it's not tight at all!).

    ReplyDelete
  33. Debra - there are 2 fringe tunics - I decided on size 2 in the fringed (26079) after trying on a 4.

I was able to fit, but didn't buy, a 0 in the printed one --seagrass (26154).

I most often wear 4 in J Crew. I agree that you can size down at least one.

  34. In Chicago: the North Ave store has tons of stuff 30% off incl: island paisley sweaters, cashmere zip cardi, carly dresses, tons of tops, an ink dot skirt and a wildcat ombre skirt (not sure of sizes)

  35. @Chrissy-

I find the sale section at Tysons to always be much bigger than the one at Fair Oaks-- but they don't always have the smaller sizes in stock. I did see tons of eyelet bow blouses (in both colors) and daisy day dresses in almost all sizes. Other than that, most things are available in only a few sizes.

  39. Just back from my b&m in Charleston. If anyone is looking for the fluerette scarf, they had 2. Also, several fringe tunics in the pink/blush color. And lots of impressionist and gilded jacquard skirts. Plenty of tees. I finally tried on and bought the cropped ripstop cargo pants in the olive color. I love these pants and I'm not a cargo girl! TTS in my city fit size. I also love the studded ballet flats - so comfy 1/2 size up (which is normal for me in JC flats). The Kerrington ballet flats are also cute.

  40. Debra:

I was in my store yesterday and they had a lot of the fringe tunics and sparkle camis left. I'm not sure of sizes but if you call them (610-264-3612) and they have them in your size you can put them on hold and I'll pick them up for you.

  43. Debra, there is a spot
and sparkles cami on hold for you under your name at the Prince street store in NYC. I would have bought it for you but I was afraid of being stuck with it in case you had got it already. Maybe someone else can pick it up for you or you can call them and have it shipped to you. It's 19.99 less 30% so maybe it's worth to pay the shipping.

  44. Michelle thanks for the offer. Ema thanks so much, I called and had it shipped. Been busy with my mother and two sisters visting this past week. They are on their way home and I finsally have a free moment.

  50. Hi Everyone, This is my first post so please be kind!

I visited my B&M store yesterday and fell in LOVE with the Long merino cardigan (in Twig). The color is gorgeous in real life, but it is a little long (and I have a loong torso). Should I wait for a sale or go for it? I also loved the Scalloped Zipper cardigan in Black, it's a little thin but I love that it looks sort of 'leather jacket-ish'.

They also had a number of new items out, and I'm really loving all the colors-pumpkins, marigolds, etc., colors that I didn't see in the lookbooks posted.

I also tried on the Sequin strip tank in Vintage Fatigue which I didn't like, looked a little to 'goth' and the Denim Boyfriend Short which I also didn't care for (it had a weird crotch).

    ReplyDelete
  51. J.Crew @ Towson has also been promoted to a Premium store! So say goodbye to the menswear and hello to shoes, cashmere, etc.! Yay!

I bought the Denim Minnie pant item 23559, in the dark denim rinse, for $13.99 (after the 30% off). They're still $69.99 on the website.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I went back in today to get another Twirled Metal necklace on the mega cheap, and it doesn't look like much has moved, even with the 30% off. I was given the sads when an SA wouldn't give me the online price on the light pool Jackie. I guess that's the retail gods telling me to quit it with the light blues and greens for now... Maybe there'll be an online % off with the free ship soon.
