J.Crew Spotted in Harper's Bazaar

Another "thanks!" to Gem Twin, who not only let us know about two J.Crew items being spotted in the latest issue of Harper's Bazaar, but also scanned the images for us to view! (Click on the image to see it larger.)

The image on the left features a yet-to-released Jacket ($325.00). The face-framing collar is a stunner!

The image on the right features a plaid check long sleeve shirt. "Thanks!" to Andrea in this post who correctly pointed out its the Sconset Plaid Shirt (Item 26019; $69.50, now $19.99). The colors in the shirt really bring alive the camel-ton coat in the outfit.

I really like both items! Both patterns (of the jacket and shirt) are absolutely darling. I can't wait to see the rest of the Fall Collection at J.Crew now! :)

What are your thoughts on the jacket featured? Do you think you will pre-order it? Do you own or tried on the Sconset Plaid Shirt? If so, please share! :)

  1. Is that shirt a new fall item? It looks very familiar to the Sconset Plaid Shirt.

  2. Going OT:

    1. A whole bunch of items in the final sale section have been bumped back to full price (silk motorcycle jacket, embroidered ikat skirt, ikat dot jacket, elastic blossoms belt, etc). What's up with that?

    and really OT:

    2. Looks like Talbots has implemented final sale - and their Facebook fans are MAD! The complaints are identical to the JC ones - mainly, a with decline in quality and increase in prices people can't take a chance on an unreturnable item. Looks like this is becoming a more popular way for retailers to permanently unload merchandise.

  3. silver Lining- Ditto! I just noticed a few items that are suddenly back to full price?? who does that? Very strange. I noticed the Talbots final sale yesterday and have to say I was sad to see them move to this. I guess everyone is trying to save me $$!

  4. When will new arrivals be on the site?

  5. The Silk Motorcycle Jacket in the color Blush is still FS @ $149.99, it's just not sitting in the FS section anymore. You can access it through the non-sale jacket page. Mink isn't on sale but blush is.

Now the Embroidered Ikat Skirt and elastic blossoms belt are still obtainable at the FS price but only through a search.

SilverLining-where do you see the elastic blossoms belt at full price? I only found it on a search and it comes up as the FS price? Just wondering if we're seeing different things or if they're in the process of rearranging as we 'speak'.

Hmmm...I really think they make mistakes on their side, esp. when they have to do roll-outs. Why would they purposefully hide a FS item they're trying to get rid of?

  6. Hi IRL - looks like they're rearranging it now. This morning when I was looking around the FS section I noticed a lot of items that didn't show the sale price. The belt shows up only if you search by name, and now the sale price is there. Too weird! Guess things still haven't fully recovered from the great July crash of 2008.

  7. The plot thickens: I just got an email stating that new items have been added to FS - but it's the smallest it's been in a while. But that's how they usually do it - add new stuff on the last day of a free ship code, the day before new arrivals. Ha, JC - you're so transparent! ;)

  8. I don't really care for the jacket, it looks oversized, long and boxy. I'll have to wait to see it in person before decided. Thanks to Gem Twin for the scans!

  9. Mmmmmm...i think I will go to my closest Jcrew (NYC) and see if they have new arrivals in store. Anyone know if they have arrived in store yet or if I will waste my time?

  11. Tracey G.: New arrivals are due in stores this week...either yesterday or today, so it's probably worth checking out if you get the chance.

OT: For any who are interested...Ann Taylor is offering FREE SHIPPING/NO MINIMUM. More details here on my blog. Have a great day! :)

  13. You're welcome Tracey! Also, there is a good chance the new arrivals will be online tomorrow or Friday, as well. I'm not 100% positive though.

  14. FFM-thanks for the info about Ann Taylor. :) If you can believe it, I have never purchased anything from there. How does sizing run for the most part?

  15. jcrewjunkie: You're welcome! :) I find the sizing to be pretty comparable to J.Crew, so I would say to order the same size there that you do at J.Crew if you decide to give them a try. HTH!

  16. I find Ann Taylor runs a little bigger than J. Crew most of the time, TraceyG. I wear a 4 in J. Crew skirts, for example, and a 2 in Ann Taylor.

According to my PS, the new rollout will be online tomorrow. She has been tempting me with the description of a new pencil skirt so I can't wait to see!

  17. Desert Flower- Can you share the info that you PS mentioned regarding pencil skirts? I have an obsession with pencil skirts :-)

  18. The jacket looks long... and reminds me of something people wore in the early 90's over pleated shorts, with tights and penny loafers.
