J.Crew Email: FREE SHIPPING ends today.

"Thanks!" to Marietta, who shared the following email J.Crew sent today.

J.Crew is reminding us that they are offering free shipping on orders of $100+ with promo code FALL, and $150+ with promo code AUTUMN. Both offers expire tonight at midnight.

Upside to promo: As many of you pointed out in the "J.Crew Email: 20% off select sweaters. Online only." post, this free shipping offer can be combined with the select sweaters that are 20% off. {wahoo!}

Downside to promo: As many of you pointed out in the "J.Crew Email: Must-have minnie pant + FREE SHIPPING" post, this promo is going to expire today, right before new arrivals are expected to go live online tomorrow. {of course!} ;)

Are you planning to use this new promotional code before it expires? Are you holding off for new arrivals tomorrow? :)

  1. I would like a timer to see how many seconds after the free shipping promo expires before the new arrivals are posted :)

  2. Laura: HA HA HA! Good one! I laughed out loud for that one- because I so believe new arrivals will appear seconds after midnight tonight! ;)

  3. I ordered a couple jackies and two shawl cardigans, all in neutrals. I also ordered a leather driving moc in toffee. :) This sale is good for stocking up on basics!

  4. Shannon: Yey for the Jackies- they are fantastic staples!!! :)

  6. I'm really thinking J. Crew has some sort of sixth sense! I just ordered the Lombard cardi on Friday and bought a Jackie at my B & M yesterday!!! It would be my luck that the sweaters are on sale now. Not sure if I want to hassle with returns! Oh well. Can't wait for new arrivals tonight!

  8. I am holding out for the new arrivals and for the November Holiday rollout. I ordered cords and a belt with the FALL code yesterday, so I am trying not to spend anymore.

  9. Kathryn, Don't forget you have two weeks to get a price adjustment on those things you bought recently!

  10. Angie,
I bought the Jackie at my B&M, and the 20% off sweaters promo is online only. I wouldn't think they would give me a price adjustment on it.

Does anyone know if it's easy to do price adjustments for items bought online? Or even if you can?
    Thanks!

  11. Kathryn, I've only done a price adjustment once in a situation like that, with online price going lower than instore. I did a printout from online showing the price and brought it into the store, and they did the adjust to my card. This was just a few months ago, so you should have luck doing the same. I would absolutely reorder if they aren't inclined to do the adjust, since there is free ship on top of the discount. I get frustrated that the policy is not to do adjustments to sale items, only full price items, since the second discount is sometimes larger than the first. I doubt I'd be so in favor of tons of returns if I wasn't so close to a JC, I hate to pay shipping! But in my circumstances, it's worth it.

  12. I'm waiting for the new arrivals so nothing for me. :)

  13. I ended up ordering two things--the Dream shawl cardigan in Heather Camel (I like the slightly pink tint to it) and the Forever Cardigan in buff pink. I agree that this sale is good for stocking up on basics.

  14. Kathryn, I did a price adjustment once on a jacket that I bought on-line that then went on sale two days later. They had no problem doing the adjustment in the store; I just brought in the packing slip.

  15. This is hard. I just got a gift card today for my birthday. Spend it tonight or wait for the new stuff?!

  16. i got the cashmere shawl popover in sweet guava, frances stripe ruffled tuxedo shirt in blue, ruffle-front liberty art perfect shirt, two of the mandarin henleys (sweet guava and grey), and a pair of cords in glazed pecan. :)

looking forward to new stuff tomorrow, most of that stuff had been in my cart a while!

  17. Is the Oct. catalogue out in stores now, does anyone know?

BTW, driving home from a work project today, my route took me right buy an enormous outlet mall. Stopped in the J.Crew outlet - and nearly fainted. The prices are $10-20 less than the regular store. Saw a cute graphic tee, but left it because it was $30 - ridiculous for a factory store tee. No wonder I was the only customer in the store.

  18. I pulled the trigger on the Maya in dusty blossom, a cord pencil skirt in glazed pecan and the slub cotton shirred ruffle tank in ivory. So thankful that JCAs shared the FALL code as I was $1 away from being able to use AUTUMN.

  19. Kathryn, they would NOT honor the online sweater promo in the store today.

la belle Helene, the SA would not give me the new catalog. She said it would be available tomorrow. Willing to bet my own PS would have given me one and accommodated the online sweater promo. So maybe it depends on who you get.

  20. I ended up using the AUTUMN code + the sweater promo to get a couple Jackies and a Cambridge Cable v-neck. I wasn't going to get anything but a sour experience from Ann Taylor LOFT (twice in a row...was sent the wrong color cable v-neck and they're now sold out...grr) made me go and get a similar style while they were on sale. :)

I'll be heading to a b&m this weekend to make some exchanges and check out the new arrivals. Will report what I see...can't wait :)

  21. I want to use the code and the 20% off to get some jackie shells and cardis. Does anyone know if the deep rose color is more orange or more pinkish? Hard to tell online...

    Thanks!

  22. I'm thinking of using the free ship code on the wool bucket hat item #17901, and a pair of pants for my husband. Can anyone comment on the sizing? It's been a while since I bought a hat from J.Crew. I have a lot of thick, wavy hair and I'm thinking I should go with the medium-large so I don't end up with crazy hat hair.

Anybody own this hat and can offer advice?

    TIA

  23. ShuLvr: I have a small-ish head and I got the s/m, and even though it fits, I think I'm going to exchange it for the m/l. At first I thought it was a perfect fit, but it's tight enough that I think prolonged wear would give me a headache. I think it would look cuter with a looser look anyway. You can see a pic of me in mine here. HTH!

  24. Wow, thanks for the lightning-fast response AppGal. I must say, you look *adorable* in that hat!

I appreciate for your advice, I'd better go with the M/L. I'm getting the butterscotch, which I hope will go well with my fair skin and hair. I agree on the looser fit, I'd like to wear it the way it looks on the model at the top of the accessories page.

    Thanks again!

  25. La Belle Helene I wonder if you could call your local B&M and ask if they have the catalog. Mine had it out today fully displayed and said all the items they were getting were out.

  26. ...just to let you know that I was in the store on Tuesday night and I got new catalog there...

  27. Sophie,

    Wait for the new stuff!!!

    (just my intuition.... :-)

  28. The wait is over, J. Crew's Oct 09 catalog is out. Let the shopping begin!

    ReplyDelete
  29. They're on the website... If that's all there is, I'm seriously disappointed, and pissed that I waited instead of getting free shipping.

  30. I just placed an order and was still able to use "FALL" for free shipping! Still worth trying! :)
