  1. Excited about this promo! Just ordered the Perfect Shirt in Stewart Plaid, the gray Stadium Cloth Chateau Parka and the gray Stadium Cloth Cocoon Coat. I only intend to keep one but really wanted to try them on and show them to the husband. Figured I may as well order both right now since neither are excluded from promo as they usually are.

Still considering the Boyfriend Flannel Shirt in Vintage Red but may wait for a better sale for that one.

    1. Nic G, I saw your comment on a previous post about the two coats and have been meaning to chime in! I have both coats which I bought at the end of the season a few years ago on sale. The cocoon coat is a little dressier and is a daily coat for me - I wear it to work and on the weekends. I find the chateau parka to be a little more casual with the cut of the coat and the hood comes in handy in colder weather. Both coats have their merits - I guess it depends on what you are looking for. Good luck and it's a good time to try them now with the promo!

  2. I took advantage of this promo. I am going to Washington DC in October and wanted to a few things from the new roll out. I ordered the Perfect shirt in Stewart Plaid, the Lightweight Boy shirt in Oversized Gingham, Tippi Sweater in Jacquard Dot, Rhodes Blazer in Houndstooth Wool, No. 2 Pencil skirt in Houndstooth and the Excursion Vest in Heather Cabernet.
I have my eye on a few others but will wait for a better promo.

  3. I bit on this--denim sheath dress, pleated windowpane dress, fringy tweed jacket and pencil skirt. With the promo I felt the prices were very reasonable (not freak-out though :) )

    1. Oooooh, I love that denim sheath dress! I'm hadn't noticed it until now. I have a similar dress from BR from two years ago and I just love it, but sometimes wish it had a higher neckline. This version from JCrew might be just the thing. 39" inches is a good length for me, but interesting that the only review from someone 5'7" says it isn't as long as on the model.

  4. They actually lost money on me. I planned to get three items totaling more than $200 but when I got to check out, the $68.00 silk Margot top said it is "excluded from promotions." OK, so I deleted it and another item and just got one, since it's free shipping today. Their loss. It is so incredibly stupid of them to exclude their own non-collection items from promotions like this.

  5. I had a few sale items in my cart but they came to $148.98 before discount so no go on the 25% off...it was early and I didn't feel like calling to get an adjustment for two cents. I didn't need either item. Free shipping is a nice perk but I want 30/40% off sale.

It would seem what some of us heard via the retail stores is ringing true that the strategy going in to this fall was (slightly) lower starting price points and less promotions.

    1. Anne- agree that it seems they are trying to discount less as we heard was going to be the strategy. For the time being I am being stubborn and not placing any orders. It is not like I need anything new and I have found if something sells out that I wanted there will be something similar the next go around. Maybe if there were some must have prints I would feel differently but there will always be a new iteration of stripes/polka dots/plaid. Overall I have placed less orders lately than usual and my wallet is happy.

    2. It doesn't seem to me that they are discounting less? There are still new promos every week. The sale section on the website isn't at 40% off right now but it's not end of season, it's new season so that makes sense to me.

    3. TRUE...promos every week ..but they used to Have sale sit at 30 if not 40 %. 25% for sale even if its a new season...most of the sale section has been there for mths.

    5. The thing I wanted to try was $110, so no go for me too. I can wait it out, and if it's gone later so be it, it's not that important.

I agree they're still having promos, but they're too specific. I don't want to keep checking back to see if the thing I want is included in this one, or that one, or the next one. I liked the broad promotions that they don't seem to have very often now. I understand why they don't want to do them, but they have to understand why I'm not buying. I'm pretty sure that the $110 item I want will be available for about $50 if I wait long enough. I bought the fleece vest they're selling this fall for $138 for $40-50 in the off-season. Prices come down eventually, if you don't need or want something right away.

    6. Exactly. There is simply no reason to purchase things at full price. Everything goes on sale and quickly. The only thing I purchased from the Fall collection so far was the velvet lucite heels, which were lust at first sight. I used a 25% off promotion and my Fall rewards and they came to less than $100. Everything else I ordered just to try on and it all went back without going on my wish list. There are a few things on my wish list for Fall, but nothing I have to have without waiting for sale.

    7. I guess to clarify, yes, they are still doing a lot of promos but the usual sale section at 30-40% off continuously has gone away. And that is the only time I usually place a large order. I agree with others that the very targeted promos aren't getting me to bite especially when there seem to be so many items excluded. Checking the site everyday is more exhausting.

    8. @JessF -- i knew what you meant, as the promos, while still there, seem different than before. It used to be that each new arrivals roll-out had a big promo, but that hasn't happened for the last few. (Also, haven't seen 40% online in quite a while!) I used to be able to go to my store and they'd have stuff like, 25% off everything, limited exclusions, but more often than not lately, it's '25% off ballet tees, or Tippis', etc. Very targeted.

  6. I plan on ordering the cherry-print Tippi & the swing sweater in grey tomorrow (payday!). I am anxiously awaiting the weather to turn so I can start wearing all these new sweaters I've bought over the past few months!

    1. @taylor The swing sweater is my favorite part of the rollout and i got grey, black and burgundy (...oops)

    2. @Ina that burgundy is beautiful! But I already have so.many.burgundy sweaters (wearing one today, another v-neck). I figured the grey would be more versatile. I'm already picturing it with white skinnies & a big scarf!

    3. Ina & Tayllor, I love the swing sweater too! (and also trying to decide what color...)

    4. Its the perfect sweater to go with skinnies!

    5. @Ina there's only one review on the website so far - did you find it to be TTS or relaxed? It says oversized fit in the description. I'm debating on what size to order; I'm a large right now in the Tippi.

      Delete
    6. @taylor i am an xs in the tippi and got the xs in the swing sweater.
I tried one size down too and the fit was not as perfectly slouchy anymore and it was tight in the arms.HTH

    7. Taylor, I tried it on last week. I'm a M or L in Tippis and I tried the medium in this and it was a good fit so I'd say it's a bit relaxed. I didn't try the L for comparison. There's a photo on my blog here if you want to look. HTH!

    8. @taylor That why u need to be on IG lol

    9. Reading Ina's post, if you want it a little more slouchy the L would probably work...I liked the fit of the smaller one and the arms weren't tight on me.

    10. Thanks ladies! @Anne, I did look at that post but missed that you tried on that sweater! My bad. The medium looks like a good fit for you - I think we're the same size now (I'm a 10-12 right now) so medium would most likely work for me as well.

@Ina my productivity has shot up significantly since I have been off IG, hee hee.

  7. I grabbed the city trench and the merino sweater-blazer. Groaned when I got to check out and saw that the sweater blazer wasn't part of the promo. But the small sizes only seem to be there on popback already so I bit. We'll see!

    1. THhe sweater blazer is super popular and was always excluded from promos. It is sold out in stores too

  8. I cannot get in the mood for fall when the highs are in the mid-80s (and I'm up north!)! Maybe that's part of why I'm not into the current rollout, it's just too hot for that stuff.

  9. The store promotion seems to be storewide (except for the collaboration, probably). They applied the 25% off on my purchase without checking anything. I actually had one of those 15% off cards and the cashier told me to keep it because they had a better promo in store.

    1. @Ema -- thanks for mentioning that! Planning to do a return today and I was wondering about the sale. I know some stores match the online price, but it can be a bit of a snag, with them having to look up the online price first, etc. Thanks!
