Take 40% off Sale at Madewell {plus free shipping on all orders!}

"Thanks!" to many of you, who shared the following promotion from Madewell today.

Madewell is offering customers to take an additional 40% off sale (no min) and free shipping on all orders (no min) with promo code COOL40. This offer expires Monday, July 22, 2013.

Not going to lie, I would love to see this same exact promotion over at JCrew.com. This would definitely help clear out the final sale merchandise...

Will you be checking out the promotions over at Madewell this weekend? Are there any items you are hoping to see or to get?

  1. Does anyone know if the Provence Stripe Dress is true to size? Thanks!

  2. I swung through both Madewell and J. Crew yesterday evening. I didn't see anything at J. Crew that I was even interested in trying on, but there were tons of cute tops, dresses, and shoes at Madewell that were total steals with the 40% off.

    1. Hi Emily - is Madewell doing 40% in the B&M as well? I may have a (rare) opportunity to visit one tomorrow.

  3. Yep! And the sale section was big too; about twice the size it normally is at my B&M.

  6. Can anyone advise how the small trades tees run? I'm a size 10, and don't know whether to order a 2 or 3. Afraid the 2 might be too small... Thanks!

    1. Wendy: I would suggest using the online chat feature to ask for specific measurements on the sizes that your are contemplating. That should give you a better idea of which one to choose, and since that tee is on promo, you will be able to return it if it ends up not working out.

  7. Thanks, FFM! I forgot MW had chat; couldn't get it to come up, so I called them. They couldn't find sizes, but promised to e-mail them to me. Just trying to avoid a return since we don't have their stores here. May wait and try to visit one when traveling next week... Appreciate your help! :)

    1. I completely understand what you mean about avoiding a return, Wendy. I do not have a Madewell anywhere near me either, so I have not been able to try many of the items I'm interested in because I hate to pay for return shipping if they do not work out.

On another note, I found a web page selling a small trades grey tee, and it gives measurements for sizes 1, 2, & 3. The tee seems to be similar in design to the striped one at Madewell, so perhaps the measurements will be helpful to you. You can see the tee & sizing here.

    2. Wendy: Small Trades also has a website where they sell their tees and such. They have a sizing chart here, but it doesn't give specific measurements unfortunately. They do have a contact email address that you could try for specifics if Madewell does not contact you with them for some reason.

  8. Thanks so much for your kindness! Hoping those measurements on the first site are a little off, or I may be sized out :) Ordered the navy in a large and will report back; may be able to try one in-store before it gets here, but the promo swayed me to go ahead and order (also, low stock in L in navy).

If there's anything you'd like me to check out for you, let me know-I hope to visit the store in Chicago Thurs or Fri. Thanks again!

    1. You are so very welcome, Wendy! If you take a look at all the photos on the Small Trades facebook page here, you'll see women in all shapes and sizes wearing them, so there is a good possibility it will work out for you, too. I really hope it does...the tee is super cute, and the price with the discount is excellent. I love that they are made in the United States, too! :)

  9. Just heard back from CS; in case anyone else is considering the Small Trades Simpleboat tee, here are the measurements they sent:

size 2 is equivalent to size Medium, or a bust measurement of 35-36 inches and a waist of 28-29 inches. The size 3 is equal to a Large, or a bust of 37-38.5 inches and a natural waist of 30-31.5 inches

    1. Thanks for sharing the measurements Wendy! I ordered the orange tee early this morning in a size 1, so it sounds like it should work out well for me. I wish the other colors in my size had not sold out so quickly, as I would have loved to try the navy one. The price is so good with the extra % off though, and if I like this one, I may go ahead and order a navy one from the small trades online store, too.
