This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopping
by a J.Crew store this weekend to see
what's available (if
anything!) in the SUMMER sale, or to see some new SUMMER
arrivals {sigh!} in
person, maybe you might be
willing to share that with us in this
post. In particular, if you could
share with us a few of the
noteworthy items that are available, at
what prices, and potential sizes
the store is carrying (as well
as the store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also,
please let us know if your local store is
carrying an additional percent
off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S.
I noticed that many of
you have already been reporting sale
items (and in which stores) in
other posts which by the way "thank
you!" :) I really appreciate how
helpful we are for each other!
Definitely going this weekend to check the new arrivals in person. Will report back.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone has seen the Biennial Medium Satchel in Vivid Jade please let me know.
ReplyDeleteHide it behind something then let me know which store it is at :)
I've seen it online a few times but missed out.
Thank you :D
Has anyone tried/have the Keeper Chambray Shirtdress? Any thoughts on it?
ReplyDeleteWent to the Eaton's Centre store last night. Sale section is totally picked over, prices haven't changed in a month or so.
ReplyDeleteUpdated In-Store Price Guide. Notes for prices I saw yesterday are dated 7/25, if you want to keyword search. Hopefully the red font is helpful as well.
ReplyDeletePrice changes to maritime blazer in placed stripe (vanilla)...ugh...brain is locking up...stripe chambray popover - both are now $39.99. And a few others noted. Oh, the spaced dyed sparkle sweater is now $39.99, too.
Gigi, I just came back from the 16th and 5th b&m in NY, the Classic Schoolboy Blazer in Dotten Linen (46072) is $79.99 plus an additional 40% off.
DeleteWow, $39.99 for the vanilla placed stripe maritime? That's a deal. I know a lot of JCAs didn't care for the color but I like this blazer a lot with black cropped pants and a tee. Very comfortable.
DeleteThanks, Marietta! The in-store cut to $79.99 on the dotted linen blazer happened last week and I forgot to note it. Review, if anyone's interested, in this post
DeleteShopalot - Y, $39.99 for the placed striped maritime. Cray. I like the maritime, just didn't care for that vanilla. If I hit a store & it's still available in S, I'll probably find it wildly attractive. lol Review of the maritime placed stripe.
I went last night to pick up the Crystal Circle Necklace they put on hold for me. Have been waiting for it to go on sale forever. It dropped a little in price, but with the addtl 40% off, it was a no brainer for me. Store was pretty much picked over tho.
ReplyDeleteHi guys, Does anyone know how the factory excursion vest fits, and is there any coupon off I store if I purchase it? For reference, I wear a size small in their factory offerings. Thanks for the help.
ReplyDeleteI got my usual XS in the green vest. It's a little roomy, but I kept it instead of sizing down. I really like it!
DeleteThanks Jenny. I appreciate your input. Just ordered it.
DeleteOff topic - but I was just walking down Walnut Street in Center City Philadelphia and it looks like we're getting a Madewell! There's a storefront on Walnut between 17th and 18th - right next to Pietro's - that's being renovated and it says to expect them to open in September. Yay!
ReplyDeleteYessss this is so exciting! Thanks!
DeleteSwung by the downtown SF store to check out the new arrivals. Was hoping to see the trench dress in person but no luck. To my surprise I really liked the stretch boucle jacket (the black/white colorway is very professional and it's more structured than last season's similar jackets) and the jeweled short-sleeved sweatshirt. The Bedazzler finally got me!
ReplyDeleteAny thoughts about the Viv patent flats? Comfortable? Cute? I'm thinking about trying them but don't know about sizing. I wear an 8 in the seville espadrille wedges and a 9 in the mila cap toe ballet flats. Should I try 8 or 8.5? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe description says to size up half a size, which I didn't read when I initially made my purchase. I'm pretty much a perfect 5.5 with most mid-range labels, and the 5.5 in this style was definitely snug. I could get my feet in, but any extended walking probably would have probably ended up with painful blisters. I returned the 5.5s and am waiting for the 6s (in metallic) to be restocked.
DeleteThanks! That helps a lot.
DeleteI have these and really like them...but I do think you need to go up 1/2 size...at least. They are much more snug than the cece. Mine have held up well but the patent is very tight...and squeaks when you walk. I have not had this issue with Bella or CeCe so I think it may be specific to the Viv.
DeleteGet rid of the squeak in leather & patent shoes by putting some shoe stretching spray inside. I put it in the toe box area and am sure to put it in the top underside that sits on the top of the foot. Helps quite a bit.
DeleteGigi - would that work for heel squeaks? I have a pair of Celine boots and when I wear them the heel of one squeaks with every step! Drive me nuts! ;p
DeleteSuzy - The stretching spray is worth a try on the interior of your boots. It may be that the exterior leather needs some love, so be sure to protect it w/some leather lotion. That may help as well.
DeleteI have some returns to make so I do plan on going either this weekend, or possibly Monday or Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteBtw, there are several new promo-priced items including cashmere sweaters in select colors, as well as a couple of new markdowns too. I've noted them in this post.
If anyone should see a Havana clutch in natural with gold trim, could you possibly put it on hold and email me? Thanks so much!

Went to the Copley B&M last night to check out some new arrivals. Sale section looked okay, a lot of t-shirts though I didn't look too much at their offerings. The Schoolboy Blazer in Dotted Linen caught my eye since it was much cheaper in the store ($79.99 - I think vs. $129.99 online, before sale), but I didn't bite.
ReplyDeleteLike some others have said, I was a little disappointed with the wrinkly, creased clothing on the racks. I'm sorry, but if I'm paying $110 for a silk blouse I would appreciate it if it weren't wrinkled.
Was just wondering if anyone saw the mixed stitch tippi this weekend. I noticed it was already under the sale section on line. A review would be appreciated. TIA.
ReplyDeleteThe mixed stitch Tippi is made of a stretchier fabric than the regular Tippis. I think it runs a bit smaller, too. I was happy with the way the Large fit me, when normally I'd buy a Medium in a Tippi (and a Small in a Tippi cardigan, go figure right?). I really liked it but didn't buy it full price. Both colors were nice but I preferred the one with the pink in it.
DeleteThanks so much cate. I was leaning towards the pink one as well. Hopefully, I'll be able to go in this coming week and try it on.
DeleteScissor happy! New cuts for Sat morning rounded up at the top of this post.
ReplyDeleteGigi - Just want to let you know that I really appreciate your in store price updates. Thanks to your post here last week, I got the tortoise and crystal pendant necklace for $39.99 + 40% off in store compared to $89.99 online. Yey!
DeleteSally A - Way to go! We're necklace twins ;)
DeleteI picked up the necklace too. Thank you for the tip. It was worn twice and I have a crystal missing. No biggie at that price but if I paid FP this would be a vent post!
DeleteCrewmum - Someone else mentioned a missing crystal. I'll have to keep an eye on mine.
DeleteGigi - Wanted to add my thanks. Your posts and heads up messages are so helpful. Thanks so much. You are the best.
DeleteThanks, Mirna! :)
DeleteI stopped by to return Cafe Trousers in cotton that didn't fit (kept ones that did, though, I liked these but need to hem them). Sale section was small. Lots of new arrivals on the floor but I'm waiting it out for a promotion.
ReplyDeleteA review of the Liberty Popover in Strawberry Thief Floral here
ReplyDeleteReview of the merino swing sweater currently on promo for $75 + STYLE40.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone sees the crystal pendant necklace (04424) could you please let me know? I have called around for an hour and a half searching for one this morning! I would so appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteHollDoll - Next store you call, have them put the style number into the computer to tell you what stores nationwide have it or not. Good luck.
DeleteGigi-I tried that early on, they all kept telling me that since it's on sale they couldn't do that, so I gave up!
DeleteAlso Gigi, you have helped me get so may good deals over the past year--thank you so much!!!
HollDoll - You're welcome!
DeleteEmail me asap -> gigiofca@gmail
Stopped by the Pasadena, CA store and the sale section doesn't have much left. Just neon t-shirts and shirts. The new arrivals that I did see were not that impressive. Tried the new schoolboy in heather gray and I liked it quite a bit. As soon as there is a promo, I'll be picking it up.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know of a FP promo coming up soon? I chatted with an online specialist and she told me 25% off starting today but I see that the 40 % sale is through August 4th!
ReplyDeleteI saw the 'new schoolboy' in store, and thought it looked good, but not drastically different than before. Then an eBay purchase of a 2011 schoolboy arrived-guess what features it includes? Ticket pocket, functional buttons at the cuffs, and striped lining in the arms. Made me giggle a bit at the pimping JC is doing of the 'new and improved' schoolboy ;) On a positive note, their email today indicates it will also be offered in petite and tall sizes...
ReplyDeleteI like several things in the new rollout, but will wait for sale. The lace front sweatshirt strikes me as a sweatshirt version of the lady lace sweater, which I love, but the arms were short for me, and the body of it could be a little longer.
If anyone comes across the navy and white stripe no 2 pencil skirt, it is down to 79.99 in store pre-discount. I did a FIFM (find it for myself :)), and can't wait to receive it!
JCAs, I am looking for some Ceces in size 8 (all sale/promo) in the following colors:
ReplyDeleteSuede
Vivid Aqua (light green)
Fresh Plum (bright purple)
Bluebird (bright cobalt blue)
Leather
Vintage blush
I ordered some online and they came (you guessed it!) damaged. I am tired of dealing with CS. If you have seen any of these I would appreciate it if you could let me know! My email is bankygirl (at) gmail (dot) com. Thank you in advance.
Went to the Jcrew in St Louis (Galleria) today and the sale section was practically empty. However I did find a rare gem - the origami bow dress in my size for $38 after the 40% off extra! They had a couple others left in size 0, 6, and 8 and they had a few other business type dresses on huge clearance so it's worth looking in case they have your size!
