Bring back the $5 shipping! Maybe for cardholders...? Throw a bone. It should be free for carholders anyway.

Deletefree for cardholders...not carholders...I want to be clear so there's no confusion
DeleteOh, man! I really thought they would just make that permanent. If they're going to be so lame, they should at least offer free shipping to the store.
DeleteThe $5 shipping was nice. I have to shop online b/c of no store nearby but I did risk final sale on the butterfly scarf with the $5 ship and 40% off and it arrived in perfect condition. I would not have ordered if the shipping was $9. I am happy even though I am sure the scarf was much cheaper in store. I have not ordered final sale in YEARS.....
DeleteSome 'new arrivals' online - and by 'new' I mean more boatneck striped tees, chambray (shirts and shirdresses), exposed zip dresses, bouclé jackets, ankle pants, and printed Tippis.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the model pic for the "Drapey Sailor Tee" (03616) looks like the shrunken head guy from the end of Beetlejuice.
Is the chambray shirtdress the same as was released earlier this spring? It looks about the same, and same pricing, too.
DeleteIt's not the same item number (spring was 38936, this one is 02969) but the new one says it falls 34" from the shoulder in the size 6. I contacted CS about measurements on the one in the spring and it was the same (read: too short for me at 5'5"). This is unfortunate that they can't make tweaks when they continue to release the same items over and over.
DeleteOrdered the punk floral trouser. BEAUTIFUL! $398 pants arrive in a brown envelope. No tissue, no box, no presentation. Maybe Kate Spade has spoiled me. Hope the fold dents come out on the hanger.
ReplyDeleteHi Crewmum,
DeleteWhat did you think of the fit?
Would love to see a IRL review!
I'm not sure what's going on at the distribution center, but for the SIXTH time in as many months I've received yet another screwed up order from the Factory. Mistakes have been wrong items, wrong sizes, damaged items, mis-marked packaging, etc. The CS reps are always extremely nice when I call to report the problem, but what the heck!? I spoke with a manager on one occasion who assured me this was just a fluke, and that if I wanted to phone in my orders they could arrange to have them hand inspected before shipment. Nice idea, but a hassle for me. The most recent mishap has me ready to finally call it quits with them. On the first day of the cardholder preview for new items last month I ordered the anchor pajamas as a gift. When they arrived I took the top to the monogrammer and had an adorable monogram put on the pocket. I picked up the top yesterday and when I got home and took what was supposed to be XS pj pants out of the package that was marked XS, I see that they're the wrong size. Of course, these pjs sold out almost immediately last month so there's no more to be had. Aaaacckkk! Given all the problems I've had in the past, I blame myself for not opening them earlier, but really, this is getting beyond ridiculous. J.Crew, I don't want my money back, or a gift card, or another item at the same discount, I WANT WHAT I ORDERED!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your problems. Been their with regular JCrew but not factory. I have only ordered a scarf or two from factory. Last summer one scarf was defective but they made it right. Just ordered another scarf and it came fine too.
DeleteHowever, of my regular orders I just got a defective item:( Customer service was nice and is doing a WWFI even though sale item.
I am holding out hope that the fall offerings are magnificent because the summer items have fallen flat for moi. Too many sweaters and not enough lightweight tees and tanks. And this is the second summer in a row in which I have found the dresses to be awful. Summer should be all about a little easy breezy sundress, right? All of my summer shopping has taken place with Banana, Gap, Anthro and Express. I am not surprised by reports on JCA that the sale sections are packed and 40 off. I think J. Crew needs to rethink the warm months. Who is buying cashmere in July??
ReplyDeleteI agree Susan, dresses too short, skirts with terrible prints. The only item I am holding out for this summer is the blue Tilda and it is just not going on sale (are you hearing me J Crew???).
ReplyDeleteI agree JRSConifer. I have a few items on my web online sale watch list. Pompom top, linen baseball sweaters, linen island tee, summerweight linen sweater all need to be marked down and I'll bite. Otherwise I am looking for only a few popbacks and waiting for fall.
DeleteHow many variations on a tippi can there be? I have five - I think I am done. Total snooze.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone else been disappointed with the durability of their not-exactly-cheap leather ballet flats? I've had mine for less than two months of moderate wear, and already there are chips in the leather and holes in the lining. I'm tempted to complain and try for a refund.
