This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this
post) says it best, "You know, that thing you
bought because you love it and you keep pulling it
out and then putting it away without wearing it?"
Please
share your J.Crew item (either that you own or
are thinking about getting) that you would love help
creating an outfit with.
Also,
please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel
free to include links to your blog (where you
incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you
showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance!
:)
Who else received the email survey from J Crew today in their inbox?
ReplyDeleteI published a few screen shots of the survey on my blog today,
www.bichonluvrscloset.blogspot.com
Did you complete the survey? Did you list (mine was paragraphs, lol)
your observations about J Crew at the end?
Interesting that at the end of the survey, they mention an online discussion that is going to take place. Maybe they finally noticed that we are not liking so many items - too itchy, too short, arms too tight, etc.
I got it too. I had a lot to say lol. I included good stuff too, like their winter coats, and my good customer service experiences, and that they asked me to fill out the survey.
DeleteHi--this is more a 'help me decide whether to keep' request. I bought the white nolita denim jacket with the 40% off; fairly good deal (around $60). It's a cute fit, although a bit more cropped than I'd prefer. I live in the deep south, though, so it will be a 'springtime' only wear, unless I can style it for Fall. Any input whether to keep or return? I'm "this close" to bagging it back up, but keep thinking I'll regret it. Thanks for any help :)
ReplyDeleteAre you sure you wouldn't wear it in the air conditioning in the summer?
DeleteWendy, keep it if you'd really wear it. Don't let price dictate! I love the idea of denim jackets, but don't wear them very ofen. I decided Old Navy's versions were good enough for me, around $30. I love the Nolita, though, and would keep the one in white if I wanted/needed. I think blue denim is easier to come by with lots of different options. A white denim jacket that looks cool, not corny, is not as easily found. Cate is right. Plus, the jacket would look good over a sundress. Good luck deciding :)
DeleteWendy, I have the white Nolita and I was on the fence about keeping it, too. But I love it, and I'm glad I did. The fit is so tailored that it can be almost "dressy."
DeleteI often wear mine buttoned all the way up, sleeves rolled, sometimes w a necklace over. It looks great with almost any bottom - think of how you'd wear a white perfect shirt. I get lots of compliments.
My biggest problem w it is I'm kind of a klutz and it does get dirty easily.
Updated Irl Pic Guide - Sale. The in-store prices are noted if they're different.
ReplyDeleteIf you want a shorter comparison list, check out the In-Store Price Guide.
Review of the cafe capri in rope print, $79.99 online. Was still marked regular price in-store yesterday. Of course they could be on sale & not marked. Love J Crew!
ReplyDeleteHelp! I bought a pair of canvas Jack Purcell sneakers (I fell in love with the model's white Superga sneakers in the June lookbook).
ReplyDeleteIn theory they're comfy but after hours and miles they're still tearing up the back my ofankle where the back of the shoe rubs against my Achilles. Any tips on breaking them in?
Rosie, you could try Dr. Scholl's for Women Rub Relief strips. It comes in a tape like dispenser and you can attached as much as you need. I purchased mine at Walgreens but I would think other stores like that would carry it. I have used them on ballet flats and other shoes that without socks rub. Plus they have a money back guarantee. HTH.
