J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  1. Does anyone know when new arrivals will be online? Was short on time but walked through the store quickly today and saw new things but cannot find them online.

  2. Yes, Lions, bees, slim kick flare pants, Ratti prints, Liberty, Cashmere in Natural renamed Snow and a new color Blade Green, (repeat but slightly different shade) Kiki looks good but made in Morocco, Barn Jacket looks cute but I don’t care for the print on the collar. Website wasn’t showing images earlier this morning but they fixed the glitch. No wishlist ugh, but ability to cancel an order is back. No promos, no buy:)

  5. Try calling CS good luck love mine. Wouldn’t pay unless at least 60% off plus card perks which is no longer available. I paid $60.00 for a brand new one on EBay last year with tags

  6. Thanks!!! I remember ty talking about it.
What are your thoughts on the double breasted Italian trench coat in boiled wool.... it’s been kinda cold now....

lol.... I did get the navy daphne and it’s fantastic. Ended up with 00, can wear a blazer, waiting on zero to come in to see which one I like better

Do love my cashmere sweater blazer.... feels very luxurious....

  7. @Kate, looks nice. I think the Daphne you purchased is pretty and unique. I purchased the double breasted cashmere wool topcoat as gift for the daughter of one of my employees. I did not see this item in person so will be interesting to hear how she likes it. I noticed the quality of the more recent Lodge Coats is terrible, I have one from a couple of years ago which is much nicer. I am in Florida and wearing it today. It’s quite cold and windy here. Happy you like the sweater blazer. Wear it in good health! I’m purchasing in Italy where I am able to get enormously good deals and still wearing my very old jcrew collection cashmere sweaters which have held up very well and I treat like babies:) did you see the new Parke Blazer? $288.00??? Crazy!

  8. Prices are crazy, sale section not moving. I did ask about additional discount, no go as per CS.

Weather has been crazy, it was 60 last week in NY and back to 25 now...
I have a ladies coat from 4 yeara ago and chateu coat from 3 years ago and love both of them. The grey Chateu needs to be dry cleaned a lot( coffee spills on the go), but I do love it.

I have their last heavy down parka.... I love it... but had to get rid of the fur.... it went ugly and smelly.... does not look as good without it.... but super warm...

Prob can hold off on another coat unless it’s upset cheap...

    1. Same. I’m always looking at coats. I’ve been alternating between the black wintress and red chateau puffer while it’s cold. I wish the chateau was longer. I much prefer the knee length. Some lengths just seem skimpy and out of proportion.

  9. I stopped in store today. Sale was 50% off and took up the entire back room of my store. I know others have said it looks sad and picked over at their store- not the case at my store, things were well-organized by color and category. But just the huge volume of inventory was a little depressing- if J. Crew can't move this stuff at half off, things don't bode well.

    On to new arrival reviews!

The lion print is SO CUTE, they make me smile. Tigers are my favorite animal but I think I actually like this better than the tiger prints, I love their expressions! The colors are a bit hard for me to figure out how to style- The purple-toned royal blue is too bright to match with navy and the olive-mustard of the lions leans too yellow to pair with khaki chinos. Black clashes. I just couldn't figure out how I'd wear this silk shirt to work with my typical work pants. That, paired with the slight button gap in my typical size because I'm busty, and the fact that I own a tiger shirt in the same cut already, means that I might have to pass this one up. I wish they'd stop doing all their cute prints in button-downs! I may purchase the lion pants to wear as actual PJ bottoms though if they're available once they go to super sale (that's my review of the bottoms- very PJ vibes, don't think I could make it work for daytime without it being a lewk).

In general, besides the lion button down, I found most new blouses to run large with vanity sizing in effect. Almost everything I tried on I was somewhere between an XS and S with me erring towards XS and typically with J. Crew I have solidly been a small. The aqua floral-print jacquard is super metallic and shiny- that with the ruffle felt like too much on top but the midi skirt, which wasn't in store, might be a great party piece. The poly on the Ratti geometric twill tunic was very thick, shiny, and luxurious- one of the higher-quality silk-like polyesters I've seen in awhile. I was hoping to see the watercolor begonias print and some of the Liberty prints in person but they weren't out on the floor.

Looking forward to everyone else's impressions!

    1. i have similar issues with the lion print. i have no place for it in my closet, the colors are hard to wear without the hookup. i also have too many tiger shirts, and i want a different cut. the shine on a lot of the new stuff is off putting. I had liked the ruffled sleeveless floral top but i hate how 70s shiny it is. The Ratti geometric print caught my eye but i’m having a hard time thinking of inventive styling other than the hookup. i need some jenna level inspo!
