Received tiered stripe maxi dress today. Decided to order when it went on sale during 50% off + coupon. I liked the look on JCAs who've tried it. Nicely made & cotton is a nice weight. Ordered a tall for extra length & fit is tts. Can wear for date night or a casual dinner. Will wear to work with a stripe cardigan and sandals. Did not love gingham eyelet dress and green suede ankle wrap sandals. May try a size up to see if fit is any different on sandals.
ReplyDeleteLove J Crew's linen shorts. Garden and drawstring shorts were a winner last year and this year it's the gingham and side tie shorts. Fit is tts & will work well for upcoming vacation to Thailand and Hong Kong.
I bought the linen tanks after you mentioned how much you like them. I got the scoopneck which are on sale online but seemed to be full price in store. TTS for small chested me. I will handwash since they are fairly delicate.
DeleteI also love my linen garden shorts. Wore the black a gazillion times last summer and got the white on clearance. Didn't wear them last summer but wore them on July 4 with the white linen popover (loosely tucked) and loved it. I don't love elastic waist as much so I haven't tried this year's. I also handwash the shorts.
Glad you like the linen tanks too. I also found the fit tts plus linen will stretch a bit during wear. I wash on a gentle cycle in cold and then hang dry; has worked well so far. Your outfit sounds so cute; hope to see IG pics. OT, but congrats to your daughter on her tournament selection.
DeleteThanks Tara! It was an amazing experience for her.
DeleteYou're welcome! So cool she had the opportunity.

ReplyDeleteYesterday I wore the tie waist shorts in black with the black knit shell from last Summer (basically a fitted muscle tee). Even though I don't love the big bow all the time, or certainly makes for easy dressing to not have a separate belt. I think the shorts are the perfect length and I love the wide legs.
Also find my older girls (19/21) happily take/borrow some of my J,crew clothes. I gave my oldest the wide leg ponte pant from last summer and bought her another pair of the teddy pant in black (the first pair stretched out a lot so I sized down). My middle daughter has been wearing the side zip denim shorts cufffed once. I like them on me but love them on her. She also has a love for my red and white striped Seavees. I might actually buy another pair.
Yep, it's a clear sign you've picked some winners! Cute outfit. I've been thinking about that short in pink.
DeleteI love the tie waist shorts too. I've worn the black ones out for drinks a few times with a black vintage cotton scoop tee and the black statement earrings whose name are escaping me. I love the liberty floral ones too.
DeleteOverall, I've definitely found some items to love this summer. The white denim shorts have been a favorite as well as the denim skirt. Despite a lot of the trendy ruffle/off-the-shoulder items that I have definitely caved to, there are still some classics to be found.
if you watch the soap opera " the young and the restless"
Deleteall the younger actors wear a fair bit of J crew. lately the newest to the show "Maddy' is a high school student. she wears alot of JCREW...
Thanks @unknown. That's cool. I haven't watched Y&R in a long time. Will have to check it out.
DeleteFunnily enough, I actually caught part of Young & the Restless today and one of the actors was wearing Jcrew! I think it was the Eyelet Sweater in Summerweight Cotton (G1290) in the Citrus Citrus color. I was visiting my grandparents and it was on ;)
DeleteThis is a partial review/love for the Smocked square-neck top in stripe (Item G6950). I tried this on a whim, as I can't resist a good stripe for summer, and I was pleasantly surprised. The ruffled sleeves weren't too overwhelming on me (I love ruffles but some of them don't work for my figure) and this style seems a bit less trendy than others out there.
ReplyDeleteI sized down from my most common size in tops because I wanted the body to be a bit more fitted (I tend to tuck in tops), but there is still room to breath and move around. The elastic at the neckline feels fine and not constrained. Also bought the black version. Nice top!
