  1. The cherry items were very cute. A few other things that were nice but nothing I have to have either. Will wait for things to go on clearance.

    1. No must-haves for me either, although I really liked the Cherry print dress (item F5751). Sadly, it's $198 + tax, but worse, it doesn't come in Petite so it would require some tailoring for me. (Also, as beautiful as it is, it's a piece that i don't have a lot of use for right now.)

The flutter sleeve in the black/white is pretty, but I don't like the sleeves.

An item I liked online, the polka-dot Tuxedo ruffle blouse, seemed pretty in person, but the ruffles made me think of Liberace. (at least in that color -- navy & cab. might be less dramatic.)

The Double-breasted Topcoat was the first thing that greeted me when I walked in the door -- beautiful, but way too long for this shortie at 4'11".

Lots of Campbell and Rhodes blazers. Not crazy about the light stripe of periwinkle in that one, otherwise classic, tweed pattern (there's a pencil skirt with same fabric online.)

    2. Agree that the cherry print is pretty but I don't think I'll be buying any of the items. The cherry wrap dress is nice, the bottom reminded me of the ruffle/flamenco style skirts from the ss fashion show which kind of surprises me that they'd put a similar look out before next spring.
I didn't wishlist any items from the new rollout so far which is surprising for me. I do really like the tweed pointy toe flats but am wondering about comfort.
@TM93, you made me laugh re: the liberace comment, i have to agree with you about that colorway. :)

    3. @jan, good eye on the ruffle/flamenco element in the hem on that cherry dress, you nailed it. Now I can't unsee the flamenco potential in that dress. Maybe I should have tried it on J. Crew-style and layered it over the Liberace blouse! Should have sashayed around the dressing room like an ostrich! :-p

    4. @TM93, hilarious! I'm surprised that idea wasn't in the spring show lol. I'm curious to see how the cherry dress does, hopefully it gets good reviews or else all of those flamenco skirts might be in trouble.

  3. I've jumped off my wallet far too much at J.Crew the past few months. I need to let my credit card cool off and stop smoking. That said I doubt it will be too long until I score the slim crew-neck lambswool sweater in heather fern. Great shade of green which will look good with both denim and grey wool pants.

And I did a preorder for a sweater that was shown at the fall/winter 2016 show. The sweater is also a wool one with a shawl collar and is said to have been inspired by vintage horse blankets. Gotta love a sweater with a story.

    1. @jcrew guy, love that shade of green! The preorder sweater is intriguing me so I'll have to look it up now. :) that story sounds really cool and I'm looking for a sweater for my hubbys bday.

    2. Jan the sweater (in green) is great, nice pop of colour. But sadly no deal for it with this promo. Fingers crossed it soon will be.

The link above will show you the horse blanket inspired sweater. It's supposed to be released in October.

  4. I think that the October style guide is one of the best I’ve seen in a long time - probably because I could recreate most of it with stuff from my closet.

I think that JC is in between a rock and a hard place right now. They’re trying to go back to their roots, but as we’ve said here many times, quality was a part of those roots and they just can’t/won't increase the quality. It’s unfortunate. At this point, I'd take them simply changing the name of a (classic) item they've made drastic changes to (cough, Jackie) so customers could adjust their expectations.

    1. It would also be great if they offered a tall version of the Jackie.

  5. Wow, only 11 comments on the October new arrivals? I guess everyone was as bored as I was by this rollout.
