Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

    1. An email I received yesterday stated 40% off in store sale items this weekend. I know sometimes this varies from store to store so perhaps others will chime in if they see something different.

    2. Same here -- visited a store yesterday here in NYC and they had 40% off sale items (including fairly new items such as the Multristroke Ruffle top, the Neck-Tie Secretary top, and the Tippi with Ruffles). This particular store also had 25% select items, such as the Sammie chinos, as well as the Corduroy version, and select long-sleeve shirts. Didn't have too much time as I was on my lunch break and on a mission, but I actually plan to visit a different store after work today and will try to remember to note their percentage off sale.

40% off sale in Dallas too & select categories 25% & 30% off. Going in for PAs on online orders & need to use a coupon that expires soon. Really happy to find Seavees 06/67 in olive suede & garment dyed cotton crepe popover sweater online (reviews weren't great on this but I really like it as a layering piece). Picked up a few random sale items that will work now since it's still hot here & next year too. Highly recommend J Crew swimwear/cover ups; wore them a ton during vacation & hoping the St. Barth pareo works as a cover up. Love the palm tree tee that matches. Fall things I'm really interested in still have full size runs so not in a hurry. Plus as some of you noted, recent roll out items are already on sale.

    5. thanks all!! I couldn't reply from work, but I read these during the day and stopped by the store on my way home; picked up a slim fit polo in mint green for 15 dollars! woo hoo

  2. Hi everyone! This is OT but I was hoping someone here might be able to give me some advice. I was recently able to score two older ️jcrew items I had been searching for (tresco floral postage stamp mini and retail camel sweater). I was wondering if anyone had had any success hand washing either of these items. I hate dry cleaning chemicals but I also don't want to ruin either piece! Tia!!

    1. My washing machine has a setting for hand wash/delicate. I will sometimes put sweaters {wool only or less than 15% cashmere} in that cycle with Woolite and not regular detergent and dry them flat on a sweater rack. I do that with all my Cambridge cables as I tend to get makeup stains on the turtleneck collars. The secret really is to making sure they lay flat correctly. Everyone has different success but it works for me. HTH

    2. I've washed my retail camel sweater on delicate cycle in my front loader inside out and it has done fine. I press after drying.

    3. Like @shoppingcelle I wash my merino sweaters on delicate in my front loader. I wash my cashmere sweaters that way also. I do find that there is some (not much) shrinking, so I always size up one size. I lightly steam my sweaters after drying. HTH

  3. anyone know what Canadian stores are doing for sale section..? i am sure previous labour day weekends it has been at least 50% if not 40%

  4. I may run into a store since I'll be in the area tomorrow. Can't believe tie neck secretary top is in sale section already! I saw 2 pairs of J Crew shoes at TJ Maxx this morning - $24 each!

    1. I saw some black pumps with the super high thin heel at a Tjmaxx recently. My size and on clearance for $30 something. They fit but I didn't buy because I just don't have a occasion to wear high heels like that and I would probably break an ankle.

    1. That's a great plan, I need to convince myself to do that rather than buy too quickly!

  6. Okay, went to a B&M to finally try the Drake's tops: Bird of Paradise shirt, size 2, and the Bengal Tiger Pajama Top in size 0.
Both fit fine on the body.

I'm torn on which to purchase.

I love the BOP print but not too thrilled that it's not in the pajama style. The sleeves are a tad off on me (it's long, and it didn't come in petite). The cut of the body is good.

The Bengal cats; im mildly into it. Love that it's pajama style. The fit on the body, good. The sleeves, since it's bracelet length, on me it ends one wrists. I'm afraid to buy this since it might be too trendy and not classic, that how often do I get to wear such a memorable print?? And for how many seasons will it last that I'd end up consigning it?

Not planning on doing a hook-up. I plan on pairing either shirts with skinny jeans or wool pants, and loafers.

Suggestions on which to buy? TIA!

    1. @JSR, my vote would be for the BOP print. It sounds as though you love it more print wise. I think the Pajama top style will get less mileage because as you said it's a trendy style, wondering if it will be outdated even by next fall? The bop shirt seems like it would be wearable for years as long as quality lasts. :) maybe next rollout they'll have another great print but between these two I think the bop is more lovely and more practical. Both are beautiful, just my two cents. Did you find either more flattering on you colour wise?

    2. I bought the BoP shirt, it's a classic cut, and will work with almost my entire stockpile (don't judge me) of fall and winter skirts and pants. You can see more comments here

The tiger print is cute, and if they offer it in a different style top, and in different color-way, I'll probably pounce.

    3. If you like the pajama style, I vote for Bengali tiger. When I saw it online I thought it read summer but IRL the color makes more sense for Fall. But as you say it is a special piece. You will probably get more use out of the perfect shirt style. Or the midnight unicorn print (it blends in more with the Fall color palette)

    4. Personally, I really wanted to love the pink Bengali tiger perfect shirt but the I didn't like the colors together (the tigers are a cantaloupe color and there isn't enough contrast with the pink, which isn't THAT vivid). Silk also felt weird. But I didn't try anything on so maybe I will change my mind.

    5. Thanks Jan, Wellfedfred, and Ema! I will probably order both so I can try it with my clothes at home.

If I buy the Bengal Tiger pajama top, I'm going out my fashion comfort zone, so it's a big commitment for me, LOL. Inspiration comes to mind: Leandra Medine of Manrepeller, Natasha Goldenberg - Fashion Director at Kova & T.

    6. @JSR There is a solid pyjama top in the new catalog.

    7. I loved the look of this shirt but when I read the reviews and the comments on the small shoulder cut I knew I would have to size up and then it would just look sloppy in the body. I have a small waist and chest and broad shoulders, back and not so small arms. J. Crew repeatedly does this cut...why?????

  7. I popped in to do a return today (sleeveless tunic sweater. Nice design, ugly color on me) and I bought a perfect tee in the deep rosewood and the Deco Fan earrings. I also order the Tippi turtleneck in Sherwood green and the long field jacket in forest green. I think the long version is brilliant! The field jacket came in at $117.00....which I was pleased with! Didn't see much else right now but looking forward to the next round of goodies!

  8. Stopped in after a Madewell return. I placed an online order this week but wanted to see what was available in store.
I LOVED the sling back cap toe shoes. Really beautiful. Seem to run a little short--whereas in the Gemma I'm an 8.5 I preferred the 9 in these. I would have purchased if they were on promo like everything else, but they were excluded. (I ordered an 8.5 so they'll go back.)
Gemma Cap toe: really pretty but I preferred the look of the sling backs, especially because of the little 1/2 inch heel and the pattern on the leather. The plain ivory in these seems like it will get dirty. I ordered them also so I'll see how I feel with different pants.
Billie crop in black. I found a random pair of these on a rack in a size 24. (I'm usually a 25.) they're a little tight but with the stretch, I think this would be my size. I actually LOVED them. They remind me of the pants I wore through the mid-late '90s. I pretty much only wear denim and black pants, and I did order these in 24 and 25 and I really liked that these are not distressed and can be dressed up. (But they're Not dressy!) These are pants I can see wearing 100 times. I like these better than the Teddies which just felt funny on me, the cotton Patio, which I bought but don't love, and the black Rayner jean.

  9. So today ((Saturday) the promo is working for the slingback flats, so I just emailed CS to see if I can either reorder in the 9 or get the credit and exchange in my local store. I hate the pricing games. I would have just bought them in store yesterday if they offered the online promo. My local SAs must get so annoyed.

  10. Hi all, has anyone tried the Regent pants? I'm wondering about fit and there is only one review on the website. The waist looks quite high and my short-waisted body does much better with a lower rise. Between the crops and wide legs and high waists, I haven't had much luck w pants that flatter me from the Crew lately.

  13. I would love to grab a pair of the new balance 620's. Been eyeing them for years now... but they always sell out online. I'm not sure if they have the royal blue color in store either. Feeling kinda lazy, but I would love to see if other stores have them in stock.
