J.Crew sent out an email today letting customers know that they are still offering an additional 30% off SITEWIDE (no min!) at their brick and mortar (B&M) locations.
I won't lie, I woke up this morning wondering if there might be a slim chance that J.Crew introduced another amazing offer. Part of me was disappointed to see there was no new promotion, while a bigger part of me was thrilled. (My credit card needs a serious break!)
Also, I have zero intentions of stopping by my local B&M stores right now. Can you imagine the parking nightmare and wall-to-wall shoppers during the weekend before Christmas?!? Yikes and no thank you! Although, I do know many people who are planning to shop this weekend. I wish you all a safe and stress-free shopping experience. :)
Lastly, the Sale Section (click here
to shop online) had a great update this morning for Women (1100+
items) and Men (450+). Since both the additional percent off and low minimum for free shipping are now gone, it is interesting to see that items in the sale section are not moving as quickly. (During the past week, things were selling out and fast!)
Will you be taking advantage of this
promotion in J.Crew B&M stores? If so, what items are you planning to get? Please share! :)
Call me crazy, but I am probably getting out of work early today and seriously considering stopping by J.Crew on my way home. Two years ago my fiance kindly asked me to go to the mall the day before Christmas to get a gift for his niece, and I am still scarred from that experience... but I am hoping that since it's four days before Christmas, it won't be as bad.
ReplyDeleteQuestion: if something is marked down online but not in store, will the store match the online price when asked? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt seems to depend on the store (and maybe even the SA). My local b&m does but the one near my parents' place doesn't. Good luck!
DeleteI am all shopped out!!! Just hoping my packages arrive on time before Christmas as promised!
ReplyDeleteOT, but does anyone have sizing recommendations for the stadium cloth duffle? I size up to a 6 in the lady day coat, but wear a 4 in their blazers and most other outerwear. I know the stadium cloth material is pretty thick, so not sure whether I should size up to a 6 or go with my regular 4.
I just received mine in the violet (a lovely blue)I took the smaller of my size ( ei. I usually take a 12 and I ordered a 10 and it fits well) I will not be layering alot underneath...just a turtle neck if its chilly outside..so if your want more underneath order up. Carolyn from Vancouver
Deletemamakoh - Don't size up. I think go w/your size 4. I wear 4, 6 or 6P in JC outerwear and my 6P is fit perfection.
DeleteMamakoh, Shopwithm reviewed this coat and I believe she took her regular coat size in it.
DeleteAwesome. Thanks ladies!
DeleteI just realized the irony of saying "I'm all shopped out" and then asking for sizing recs... apparently not shopped out enough to hope for a better outerwear discount in the new year!
I'm not so patiently waiting for the after-Christmas sale. In years past I've stocked up on cashmere and outerwear, and I hope to do the same again! However, I'm supposed to get one package today and another on Monday - I have LOVED these December promos! Well done, J. Crew!
ReplyDeleteSad to see the extra 30% off online go away, but at least final sale isn't back yet. I may stop in to my local J.Crew later today to see just what kind of deals are going on in store with the extra 30% off.
ReplyDeleteThe update to the sale section was quite large again this morning. I noticed some more markdowns on items that were previously promo-priced and noted them in this post.
I'm debating whether to run in today after work to get some shoes. Has anyone purchased anything from JCrew and return it to purchase again because the price went down?
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone have any views on the
cece leather ballet flats and the emmet wedge ankle boot.
I've returned and re-bought. But usually prices go down within a couple of weeks so you can get price adjustment.
DeleteInterestingly enough the stores i am calling are stating that the items are final sale. Wonder if i should purchase online --doesnt say final sale on checkout.
DeleteThe cece leather ballet flats fit true to size and are really comfy. Highly recommend!
DeleteI returned the Emmett Wedge Ankle boots because the wedge was too severe- too hight. It pitched your foot too forward and the boot from the side looked too chunky.
DeleteThanks ladies!! looks like im going with the ballet flats
DeleteI also found the Emmett Wedge ankle boots to run narrow with a wider foot. The wedge itself is very narrow, but if you are short they will give you some serious height. I wouldn't recommend them on a slippery surface. The Cece flats were tts but note they have a rubber sole.
DeleteThere's just one thing I still want: the hothouse floral blouse in a size 0. The 00 keeps popping back, but not the 0. I'll keep checking :)
ReplyDeleteLauren, I saw 2 0's at the Cherry Creek, Colorado store last week maybe worth a call? 303-322-7020. It was $109.99 and if the 30% is still going in the B&Ms. HTH
DeleteOld Orchard, IL has the blouse in sizes 0,2,4 and 12. $109.99
DeleteStopped in the DC, F street store after work yesterday and they had a lot of things in stock and a decent sale section. Nothing I truly wanted or needed, though. Lots of bright sweaters and trimmed peacoats.
ReplyDeleteHeading to Florida soon. I have found serious steals at those stores (Orlando- Millenia) since no one wants the winter gear.
I'm so sad they don't carry the cashmere snoods in the stores near me. I want an ivory one and the price is so good in the stores!
ReplyDeletekiwigem - can't reply for some reason, but I saw one yesterday at the Chicago, North Avenue store. It was sort of hiding by the scarves on promo at the front of the store, if you happen to call. good luck!
ReplyDeleteThank you, that was so thoughtful! Alas, it was gone when I called, but thanks for trying!
Deletekiwigem: Prince St, NYC had 4 size 0's downstairs in the sale section a few days ago. Worth a shot if you haven't found one yet!
DeleteOf course the midnight tweed jacket went on sale! Hoping to get a price adjustment. I agree with Aexis, a little bit sad not to see another online promo, but also relieved, I am shopped out for now!
ReplyDeleteI plan on visiting my local J. Crew tomorrow. Not for the sale, but I made some goodies for the s/a's--they have been really helpful--I want to spread the holiday joy---and maybe saunter to the sale sectionn:)
ReplyDeleteIf they had only exteded the 30% online up until Xmas I think we would all still be ordering...now that it is gone...I am obviously not going to.....Carolyn from Vancouver
ReplyDeleteI am stopping to do some returns, after work. Going to look at the sale section and see if they will match some items that are on sale online.
ReplyDeleteI *may* run in just for returns. My store's sale section was big, but it was bottom of the barrel stuff.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI have a two Factory codes that end tomorrow (12/22):
ReplyDelete10% off $75 or more: FPTTCUXWU
20% off $125 or more: FPZMG324A
Hope someone can use these! Please post when they are gone.
No, the mall is too much for me around this time. I did order something from Nordstrom instead, always free shipping, free returns and they still guarantee the Christmas Eve delivery. Nothing from J.Crew even tempts me and I sat out the latest promos as well.
ReplyDeleteOf course JCrew ends 30% online, and then they add more items to the sale section. *tsk, tsk*
ReplyDeleteI won't go this weekend since I went yesterday already. I did some damage online so I can't spend anymore. Besides I am over seeing the fall/winter merchandise already that I am looking forward to spring merchandise. Hahaha!
oh i know! i spotted a few things i would have bought if the 30% off were still in effect... but since it's not, i'll be keeping my money.
DeleteI have a ton of returns. Most of the stuff I ordered has come with quality issues (the elastic seam in my Jackie cardigans is mismatched, plaids mismatched at the seams, improperly sewn sleeves and ruched seams, etc). I feel bad treating my B&M as a returns center and I am afraid of getting banned because I am returning the majority of what I buy, but the reality is that quality has become a major issue. I had to reorder items twice and even three times! This makes me really sad, because I love J Crew and my nearest B&M is tiny so I have to order online, and honestly I am over calling every time I get a defective item. They don't offer me prepaid labels to return my items, don't offer replacements or even a friendly demeanor. Sad indeed.
ReplyDeleteOk, this should have probably gone in the vent section, huh?
Had some improperly sewn sleeves. Do u mind elaborate ing in more detail what was wrong with your shirt sleeves so I can compare mine? Thx
DeleteYeesh- that sucks! I too have had a poor success rate this fall, though I have had incredibly helpful customer service each time!
DeleteThe Shrunken Dot Shirt is now $49.50 + 30 % off in stores (reg. $78). Final price $34.65 +tax (not final sale). They were not marked but a SA told me when I was looking at them.
ReplyDeleteThe shrunken dot shirt has been on promo for some time now. I was wondering if it was still going. Thanks for the info.
DeleteOff the crewlade until the new year! I purchased way, way too much from the fall and holiday collections - fortunately I'm obsessed with some of the pieces I acquired, like my splurge on the tweed coat dress - but my wallet and my closet need a break, particularly after the damage I did sample sale shopping this week. I think one of these days my closet rod is going to fall down!
ReplyDeleteI did, however, pop in to my B&M yesterday on Wednesday to make a couple returns and picked up the crimson/navy peplum top for around $27. It reminds me of an Alice & Olivia top I regretted not buying last year, the cost being the reason, and of course the J.Crew one was a fraction of the price.
Note to self: proofread. Was in the B&M on Wednesday, which I realize was not yesterday. Also meant to say the sale section wasn't too tempting, just a lot of the same stuff we've seen languishing there.
DeleteDara I am stalking that dress, do you have the item number so I can stalk a little easier? I am dying to try it. Thanks, Sara
DeleteI also have 2 factory codes I hope someone can use. These expire tomorrow. Happy shopping!!
ReplyDelete10% off 75 plus free shipping
FPT364XLL
20% off 125 plus free shipping
FPZWGD6F7
Please post if you use one of them!
My mirrored flower tee came with a hole along the armpit seam: now you don't even have to wash them, thdy come pre-holed from the warehouse. I also don't like it THAT much to bother calling them, I will just return to the store. The XS was very wide in the body but I am not sure the XXS would have been a great either.
ReplyDeleteOn the positive side in the same package I found the vintage short-leave pajama set in chambray and this one is pure awesomeness. The chambray is wonderful (more suited for summer but it gets so hot in my apartment anyway), fits perfectly (better for petite since it acropped stule) and the byzantine blue color is a better color IMO than the light blue (less pajam-y). At first I was a bit thrown off by the camel piping but it looks great on. The top has actually a strange resemblance to the selvedge shirt, in case someone wants to try the wear-it-out look (it would totally works). In my opinion you can't get a better pajama anywhere for the same money (esp. with 30% off)
They saved you the trouble of making your own hole? yikes. That pajama set is soo nice, I agree! The top doesn't read as PJs at all and I think you are right that it could be worn as a shirt.
DeleteHas anyone seen the herringbon cafe capris at their B&M in camel or black? I am looking for sz 4. Also, is it cheaper than on line? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteShopLV - I only recall seeing the pink herringbone capris in-store. Either or both the camel & black may have been online only. The pink one were marked $49.99 in-store when I visited recently.
DeleteI had a tough time finding the black/cream herringbone capris, and was told they did not ship to the stores. So stalk pop backs online----never know!
DeleteI've been to 3 malls today (mission for MIL) JC B&Ms were busy but managable -no wait for a fitting room. 30% storewide discount still applies. My sale purchase wasn't FS, but the customer next to me was told that her purchase was FS...... Pink Lady jacket was marked down to $79.99 b4 discount. If neon yellow is your color, the cashmere cardigan was 79.99. I also saw some narrow belts for $9.99.
ReplyDeleteI saw the following at the store that caught my eye as I quickly perused the store: 317-848-2739 is the store no.
ReplyDeleteRegular price: Hen sweaters about 4-6, navy, but only in sizes XXS and XS.
Regular price: Frenchie sweaters didn't check sizes.
Sale: Red tartan cafe Capri pants wide array of sizes
Sale: Green and navy bow toothpick cords nice stack don't recall sizes
Regular price: Bright pink windowpane blouses again didnt look at sizes, but they were in sale and there were about 10 left.
Regular price: Expedition vests in various sizes in the cherry and orange colors. no other solid colors.
Regular price: 1 lone herringbone expedition vest in size XL.
Oops, should have stated the windowpane blouses are in the sale section.
DeleteHave you found that sales staff during the evening hours aren't as helpful as day time crew? It was my first time going to BM store in the evening and the sales people all looked like they were college students who weren't interested in selling anything, but chatting away among themselves.
ReplyDeletePerhaps it's all seasonal staff right now. They are generally less invested in their jobs, mostly b/c it's temporary.
DeleteJCA Elizabeth did a guest review of the collection lady jacket in graphic tweed in this post.
ReplyDeleteIn case anyone can use them, I have 2 Factory codes.
ReplyDelete10% off $75
FPT9AGBV4
20% off $125
FPZA458HH
Both get you free shipping.
I would say post if you use them, but the people who take them never seem to :o(
Oh, both expire December 22 (aka tomorrow).
DeleteHere we go...FS is back :( 25% off 'final sale' items with TINSEL
ReplyDeleteUgh. Thank goodness I got everything I was interested in before the dreaded...
DeleteBoo @ FS. I'm glad I bought everything I wanted during the recent promotions too.
DeleteLooking for some advice please! I'm not usually indecisive, but for some reason am hung up here. I was able to score a Collection Crepe Shawl Blazer in Vintage Berry (originally $348 I think) for $70 after all these crazy promotions. It arrived yesterday and it is gorgeous. BUT it looks shop worn and there's a small pull in the fabric (probably only noticeable to me - and thankfully none of the pet hair/human hair issues some JCAS have described!). It's such an incredible deal, and I love it otherwise -- should I just look past these issues? At some level, they will always bother me, but at the same time I don't think I'll come across the jacket again!
ReplyDeletercb.shops - If you have to have it, consider keeping it. Perhaps if you get it dry cleaned it will look better. If it looks the same, will you be ok with that? I'm not sure what I would do. I like to start off with new things in the best shape possible, but I also understand the elusive item that you may never see again. Good luck deciding :)
DeleteDo you think it would look better after a dry cleaning? Maybe a tailor could fix the pull in the fabric. But then you're investing a lot more money into it. Try calling a VPS and explaining the situation. Maybe they would be willing to locate another one from a store that is in better condition. This is what I would try first. Good luck.
DeleteThanks, ladies! I didn't even think of dry cleaning, which may do the trick (and make me feel better). Despite the obscene amount of money I spend at J.Crew, I don't have a VPS (I like being anonymous when I shop) and I doubt I'll ever be able to find another one. It's a size 14 -- I think they make two of those each run! ;-)
DeleteYou can have a VPS just on the phone, it doesn't have to be anyone in your store. I think they must get incentives because sometimes when I've talked to someone in customer service, they offer to be my VPS. I think all that means is they'll send you an email with their contact information and you can talk to them when you need something instead of a different person every time you call.
DeleteBoo to final sale, and there was a huge sale update this morning (1500 when I got up). Some old popbacks!
ReplyDeleteFinal sale?!?! Oh heck NO!
DeleteThere's a few things I would have grabbed, but I'll leave them just where they are: in the final sale section.
I'm cross posting this do apologies. I'm looking for the bow collar necklace and also the earrings. My VPS is out of town so if anyone sees these before the awesome 30% off ends I'd really appreciate it. Karenturk1@gmail.
