What are your thoughts on the Lindy Platform Peep Toes & Wool Origami Sheath Dress? Do you own or have tried either on? If so, please share. :)
I personally do not like them and would never wear shoes like this. I miss the old J.Crew shoes like Juliet, for example. But hopefully some JCAs like them!
ReplyDeleteBought them in black. I returned them already. Purchased my normal size 8, length was too short and the toe box was too wide(fyi I have narrow feet but I usually don't have a problem with shoes being too wide).
ReplyDeleteI can't wait until this huge chunky platform trend goes away. ugg.
ReplyDeleteI'm really liking that dress, at least on the model. The origami chest portion could be a disaster in real life. Anyone tried it on?
ReplyDeleteI do have the dress and really like it. I originally bought and returned it because it was too short for work, but then I sized up one size and I think it's a bit more workable as long as I am wearing opaque tights. If you want this dress, go with the larger of your sizes if you are between sizes.
ReplyDeleteI would like the dress more if it had less of an A-line and more of a pencil skirt silhouette I think.
ReplyDeleteLove the shoes, but suspect that the peep-toe isn't going to work for me. JC peep-toes are often too long for me, leaving no peeping toe. Anyone else have this problem?
ReplyDeleteLove the dress too. Have it in the heather elm color. Neckline doesn't dip down as far as it appears on the model. I'm 5'-4" and the regular hits just above the knee so with tights its do-able for work. Not sure that I agree with suggestion to size up. I thought the dress ran TTS with a narrow cut skirt. I'd only suggest sizing up if you want extra give through the hip rather than to increase the length.
I love the shoes but imagine they aren't very comfortable, not to mention they are way overpriced at $265.
ReplyDeleteIf I were just going by the email pic of the dress I would say I don't like it. However, I checked it out on the website and it looks much cuter there.
J.Crew's thin heels are some of my favorite shoes but they are very tough to walk in on the cobblestone streets of NYC. I can't tell you how many of my shoes they've destroyed. So I'm all for the thicker heels!
ReplyDeleteI also love the dress; I was planning to order it last week but decided to hold off until my first order arrives so I can reconcile my budget.
As for the dress, to give some reference I am 5'9" so that's why it was kind of short on me. I also have hips, so if you have more of a straight figure you may not need to size up.
ReplyDeleteSame here, I'm not into the platform, chunky heels style.
ReplyDeleteDid this dress also come in a redish color? I'd love to get it but not without a promo (no mickey card for me). I'm waiting for a sale for it.
I might wear the sandals in the summer, but NEVER without trying them on first for size -- at least not at that price.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is cute.
On the dress, I just found out from cs that the length (of the skirt) is 19.75 for the regular and 18.75 for petite.
ReplyDeleteI agree, dress is very cute.
ReplyDeleteIs it just me, or do all these shoes look the same? I really don't see the difference between this and previous incarnations. Perhaps I'm not big enough of a shoe buff?
I am looking forward to getting my 20% off orders later in the week. Yes, I risked final sale, let's hope it doesn't bite back :-)
I really like the dress, but not the shoes. Unfortunately the dress looks a bit short, and it hasn't shown up in store near me. I really like the neckline.
ReplyDeleteYou know who I always notice wearing J Crew? Nene Leakes on the Real Housewives of Atlanta. Tonight she had on that big Flintstone necklace from last summer. She doesn't seem like a typical J Crew customer, but what's typical. She always looks great in J Crew!
ReplyDeleteLove the dress, but the shoes don't seem to be all that fall-like unless you live in a warm-climate state.
ReplyDeleteI have the dress and like it a lot. Wish it was longer... May have the hem let down just a bit even for 1/2 inch more of length. Definitely can't wear this one bare-legged for work, but with opaque tights (I like it with black and black peep toe platform pumps) it is fine. It is true to size, and appears much more a-line in the picture than it is IRL. It seems quite straight to me... I really like the heather elm, but mine is backordered till November. The gray is cute--I just have too much gray.
