Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SUMMER & FALL sale, or to see some new FALL arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Check out the factory online store! They have added a few new items including the maya twist cardigan! I totally missed out on that last year! Just ordered mine in deep amber.

  2. using the combo of 30% off sweaters and red card, I got a navy Jackie for a basic.

  3. Good morning ladies! I stopped by a J.Crew yesterday and found that all regular priced jewelry is an additional 25% off. So if you have a red card, the price can look really nice for those newer pieces. All leather bracelets had an additional 20% off promo going on.

The Pilar paisley cami is on sale for $14.99. (With an additional 25% off you can get it for $11.24!)

The in store version of the Vintage bateau top in Navy and Green are on sale for $29.99.

The Silk and sequin scoopneck tee in pale pink is on sale for $59.99.

The Lodge puffer vest was on sale for $39.99, I believe.

Lastly, the Glimmer sash is on sale for just $9.99 in all colors!

  4. Popped into my B&M after work yesterday to check out the 30% off sweater promo and exchange my Merino cielo cardigan which sadly ran way too large for me. Found a Sofie cardigan in black in my size marked down to $69.99 (just realized it's $59.99 online- wish I knew so I would've asked them to price match) less 30% less my 25% red card discount. I was too lazy to try on and as I was debating, another customer walked over and was like, "That's gorgeous! Where did it come from?" So I decided that was a sign and I bought it. Came to $36 and change after all the discounts. Wearing it today and I love it!

Does anyone know when the 30% off sweaters promo is ending? I'm getting itchy to cash in on the savings knowing the red card expires soon ;)

Oh and btw the store I visited was Madison & 45th in NYC. They had a whole wall of sale sweaters so definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. I saw a few Sofies and Traversas, a lot of the Merino shirred cardis, a bunch of Riminis, a few Lumiere ruffle cardis, some cashmere V-neck cardis, cascading ribbon cardis, Petit four cardis, Merino Silvana cardis and more.

  5. Maybe I will browse for markdowns if I happen to be near one, but I won't seek out a store visit. I tend to buy LOTS more summer clothing than sweaters, etc.

I'm really enjoying my Bellas right now. I wore a velvet one yesterday and it made me feel like a million bucks! Put me in the wayback machine -- I'm goin' to 2007! :-)

Incidentally, I scored the elusive chino adelaide jacket on eBay last week for only $28 and it is just divine. The detailing on the collar, the caochon buttons ... I'm in love. Does anyone know if it came in any colors other than navy?

  6. Forgot to mention that they had quite a few Jackies in the wild mushroom color and Leigh chiffon cardis as well :)

  7. Can anyone comment on the sizing of the Crewlet cashmere cardigan vs. the regular retail version? How's the quality?

  8. Elaine,

What year was that jacket out? I think I have it in green but am not sure of the jackets name. I tried googling it for a pic but could not find any.

  9. Elaine,

Now that I am thinking about that jacket a bit more I think I have it in tan....the green one I have is from a prior year and has more detailing/trims/brass buttons.

  11. Speaking of unidentifiable jackets from the past...I have a navy blue velvet jacket circa 2000, maybe earlier?...it's too early for Eden, and I'm quite sure it's not the Bella.

It has gray wool flannel detailing under the collar, which is made to stand up, and it has regular round plastic buttons.

    Name that jacket! :)

  12. Clicquot, is yours an academy jacket maybe?

Genny, I'm pretty sure the tag said 2007, but I'd have to go back and check.

I'd never have known the name of it, but I saw it on Slastena's blog a while back and fell into serious lust! I think Kaboodle has a photo of it also, and they have the item description which says it's a cotton version of the Bella jacket.

The telltale detail is the cabochon buttons. They look like something that should be on a necklace. They are divine, and they're a detail you just wouldn't see in JC today.

After it arrived yesterday and I put it away with my beloved Bellas, I started thinking about how bad I'd freak out if we ever had a fire and I lost all my past-season treasures! LOL! Aside from the obvious concerns about my family, etc., I think I would keel over if something happened to all my HTF items. They're like a part of me. ...

    *sigh*

  13. I'd LOVE to get to a B&M this weekend! The online prices are sad compared to what deals everyone is scoring in store! I just hope that my size will still be in stock when I get there!

  14. Well, I finally ordered the cord pencil skirt...it's on sale for $49.50 and I've been eyeing it for a long time. Might as well bite the bullet so I can enjoy wearing it this fall.

Also got the Factory cashmere cardigan, I'm curious about the quality. I figure I can return it if need be.

  15. I bought the bike t yesterday (on sale in stores) and the velvet bell skirt I absolutely love both of them!

I think it's funny how the vintage bateau ts are on "sale" now closer to the original price before the marked them up to the fp price point! I got the navy striped one though I love those because they seem to hold up better and last longer than some of my other t shirts as of late!

  16. Since it sounds like stores have been told that we can't use the 25% card for Red Phone purchases I won't be heading back this weekend. My fingers got a little twitchy at the idea of using the Red Card on 30% off cashmere, but I have to remind myself that ratty cashmere is never a bargain.

  17. Thanks Elaine...I think you're right, it's the Academy jacket. I haven't worn it in many years, must see if it still works.

  18. While I'm being a thread hog, I'd appreciate anyone's feedback on the Suede Flannery Platform Ankle Boots if they see them this weekend. I have a crush on them in the 'anchor gray'...

  19. Can anyone tell me if the Bettina camis are $14.99 across the board in B&Ms? If so i'll have my mom get me a few. Thanks!

  20. I am heading to my local store this weekend in search of something to wear to a wedding next week. I would really like to find a skirt and cute shirt that would be dressy enough, but I don't really know what to put together on my own. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it! :)

  21. If anyone spies a dot chiffon Betsy wrap cami in a size 00 or 0 please email me. I'm hoping to find it in an nyc store so I don't have to pay shipping. Thanks so much.

What is the weather like where you live?

Have you seen the gray lace skirt irl yet? IMO it is so gorgeous! It's also slightly longer than most of the mini skirt offerings (I'm on the shorter side at 5"3') but it is still longer on me just the same. You could easily put tights under this to make you a little warmer!

Or if you can find one of the sale sequin pencil skirts that is not destroyed from sticking to the others it is a gorgeous color and you could pair a more simple top with both and pair with some pretty necklaces! I would layer a few on depending on what you had but with pearls and maybe something with a little sparkle?!?

My store doesn't have much in the way of wedding worthy dresses but perhaps your store has more options?!

    HTH

  23. Thanks jcrewlove! Great suggestion, I'll definitely try the lace skirt. I am in Indiana, so it is 79 at the moment, but next week who knows! I love the necklaces also, I have a few in mind already :)

    Thanks again!

  24. Elaine - The chino adelaide jacket came in navy and khaki. I have the khaki. Love it and wished I had purchased navy too.

  25. Jean, I ordered the factory Maya and returned it. The runching was not the same as the original and it just gathered across my stomach. If I tried to readjust the twist to be more even it just pulled up the bottom. When I pulled it down it went back to gathering across my stomach. Although it didn't add bulk it was very unflattering. So disappointed. Hope yours works out better.

  26. Think I will definitely be heading to a b&m this weekend. Anyone know if the Asheville or Charlotte (Southpark) stores are well-stocked?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Elaine, thanks for the reminder! I love that Adelaide jacket!! Need to get them out...

Regarding the sweater promo and online price-matching, I have heard that the store will honor the store price - 30% - white card 25% OR online price - white card, whichever is cheaper.

  28. Hi! Has anyone tried the Naomi tee, 30075? Wondering how thick a textured jersey tee is. I still have bad memories from the blush colored sequined chili pepper tee which was sheer.I'm really tired of tissue thin/see through tees, but like the design on the naomi.

    Thanks!

  29. Report from SF market st: pretty well stocked sale section but lots of people shopping. Tables of cashmere, lots of jackies, merino. sale shoes, sale belts, many tees and camis. Huge pile of try-ons in the dressing rm so they may actually have a lot of sizes left when they put items back.

Saw sz4 and another sequin pencil $49.99
    A few bettinas $14.99
Leather bracelets 20% if you buy two
    Cashmere codys $99

Basically all the sweaters but good luck getting someone to help you!

  30. Michelle -

I was at the SoHo Store on Tues/Wed and they had a whole bunch of them. It's at 99 Prince Street. Not a very busy store because its kind of off the main drag and away from the crazy tourists. They also have lots of sale prices.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Michelle they had at least one the other day at the 5th avenue store (I know because I tried it on). Probably gone now but worth giving them a call.
Also they had a few scoopneck silk and sequins tees. The almond color is $49.99 which with the card comes down to 37 something ( couldn't resist that price and bought my second one). They also have a few in the moss color and they still should have one in xs that I have returned (bought fp and rebought cheaper). However I am not sure if this color has been marked down further as the tag still read $89.99. HTH someone!

Can someone tell me what's the price of the Silvana cardigan in store? I realized that it's $59.99 online but was marked $89.99 in store. Someone who bought it?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Ema, as far as I know, the Silvana is $89.99 in store, $59.99 online. I put it in my shopping cart and printed out the page to take with me. I was fortunate that the SA said she would match the online price. Then she took the 30% off and the 25% off with the red card. I am sorry I didn't buy both colors at that price. It is a gorgeous cardigan.

  33. I was in the Burlington MA B&M to return a few items and did I get a talking to about the return policy! I didn't have a receipt and you would have thought that I was demanding a kidney!

Apart from the fact that I was the only person in the store, and there certainly wasn't a line of people, the SR was extremely sarcastic and obnoxious. Who rolls their eyes at a customer? I didn't want to inform the SR that the only enforceable policy was the one in place when I purchased the items.

If they're trying to be top of mind in advance of holiday, they've just given me reason to shop somewhere else.

And who is hiring such poorly matched staff?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Thanks Allison and Ema. I actually was so desperate yesterday that I called all the NYC stores. I found it though so I am super happy :)

Also, my advice for those having trouble with SA refusing to price match the cheaper prices online is to politley ask them to call customer service. I have had multiples emails exchanges, online chats, and phone convos that confirm that it is their policy to price match.

  35. How do the silvana cardigans fit? It looks drapey and large on the model, but the text says slim fit. . .

    thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Fidele, I took a size small in the Silvana. The XS was way too tight in the sleeves on me, though it was not snug anywhere else. For reference, I also wear size small in the Jackie cardigan. Don't know what it is lately with the tiny sleeves; my arms are kind of skinny.

    ReplyDelete
  37. FIDELE --
I have the Silvana in the olive color and it's awesome. I took my normal size small and it's fine. The price now is so good -- buy it!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Ema - so jealous you found the silk and sequin tee for that price! What a deal! I thought I got a bargain on mine but you just blew me out of the water :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. The tight sleeve thing IS maddening. I have average to skinny arms, and skinny sleeves will annoy me all day, seriously brings out my Asperger's, lol. So I usually choose the smaller size b/c it fits better in the body, and then suffer with sleeves that are too tight and armpits that can't breathe either.

    ReplyDelete
  40. shoplot, thanks. I ended up ordering through my PS on the website for $32. Great deal but FS, so I hope it fits. The small (only size that they had in store) looked a little bit roomy, so I went with the XS.

andrea, I am sorry, I didn't mean to blow you out of your water :-). I was lucky to find a XS and I couldn't understand the people walking away from it. Such a beautiful top.
