Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SUMMER & FALL sale, or to see some new FALL arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  4. Ladies, can anyone help me size into the tights? I am 5'6" and 125-130 pounds, depending on how many Cinnabons I allow myself that month. Would I be a small/medium, or medium/large? I hate it when they size belts like that, I always seem to be right in between (I carry my weight in my stomach but have chicken legs). I guess I would rather have hosiery be too big than small?

  8. Charlotte, go with the medium large. There's nothing worse than hosiery that is too short so that the crotch is too low... so uncomfortable! I am a little taller than you but about 130-135 pounds, and I have to do the medium/large. They are not huge by any means.

  9. Charlotte - A salesperson at my local J. Crew said to go up in size because their tights run small. I'm your size, not much heavier, and she said to go large.

  10. LOL! I meant to say medium large. Mondays....

  11. I bought a pair of FS jeans and the Style book. That's it. The only reason I got the jeans is because it's a size I've been stalking. I did tell them I was disappointed in not receiving the card after having spent so much money and they could see that that was true. I was nice about it and so was she but she couldn't get off the phone fast enough which is understandable, it wasn't her fault.

That aside, this has opened me up to the department stores and I've had a ton of fun looking and shopping for lace up boots. The picture in the Bazaar this month on page 169 of Gucci Westman has me inspired. I love her boots and she won't say what brand. She's married to one of the Rag & Bone guys - how stylish is her life? Love Rag & Bone, and I'm on a mission for cute lace up boots that can be worn with jeans in a 3" or so heel. Fun!

  13. One more thing, the wool tretorn shoes are available for presale, I am not sure what happened as I know they were available online and then it looked like they were out of stock. I ordered them today from the red phone and was able to use me 25% off card and free shipping.

  15. OT: The chat feature isn't showing up for me on the J.Crew website. Is it there for anyone else or did they remove it?

  16. FFM, I haven't been able to find store hours on the website. I thought they disappeared, or maybe it was computer gremlins, but my neighbor said she couldn't find hours either, so she called CS and was told they are not published, which seemed odd (CS, not neighbor). Seems to me like the easiest way to check if there's any shopping time left late in the day...

  17. Thanks wellfedfred. It seems like anytime I go on the website the chat window pops up constantly when I don't want it to, but now that I need to ask a question it's gone. I t

  18. I posted this on another thread, but will repeat it here since the topic of the wool Tretorn sneakers came up.

I found last week that Uggs makes wool sneakers in some great colors and some suede too. I ordered them from Nordstrom and also saw them on Online Shoes and Zappos.

Of course, 25% off the Tretorns is a good deal! Finding a promo for Uggs would be next to impossible.

  19. Is anyone else having trouble with FS items? When so many are added, they sell out almost before they appear? Every FS item I like sells out so quick on FS and it just so happens I think a re-seller on ebay is snatching up my items because they are the same size/color I see the previous morning. The description also says the seller purchased them online. Is anyone else having trouble like this?

  20. Obsessed...I have not had that happen recently, but I am certain that the cashmere ls t from the summer was bought up by a reseller. One Sunday AM, they had plenty in stock in the 3 colors and all sizes. I went back in the evening and everything was gone (I mean everything).
I called my PS and told her I was certain someone bought it and then sold it on ebay and she told me "that happens sometimes."
I'm going to sound very whiny here, but I wish they'd limit the number of the same item/color you can buy (like Kate Spade and Ugg). Maybe for exceptions you can call in and talk to CS prior to ordering.
    I feel your pain....

  21. Caroline, under J. Crew's terms of use it states limits on purchases
We do not authorize the purchase of our merchandise for resale purposes. To enforce this policy, we may, in our sole discretion, limit or cancel quantities purchased per person, per household or per order. These restrictions may include orders placed by or under the same customer account, the same credit card, and/or orders that use the same billing and/or shipping address. We reserve the right to limit or prohibit orders that, in our sole judgment, appear to be placed by dealers, resellers or distributors. We also reserve the right to cease doing business with those customers violating this policy.
Which irritates me because I told CS about it and they just said they would forward it to that department and that person is still re-selling items. They are buying 29.99 cardigans and selling them for 69.99. I think J.Crew really needs to do something about this for their "real" customers. This is so irritating. I'm hoping others will complain so maybe eventually something will be done.
