J.Crew is offering 30% off any purchase from their Final Sale {no minimum} and free shipping (over $150 *after* discounts applied) with promo code MUSTHAVE. This promotion expires this Monday, October 18, 2010. The following is the fine print of this offer:
*All sales final. No exchanges, no returns. Offer valid online only. Offer does not apply to previous purchases or the purchase of gift cards. 30% off discount applies to sale items only. Offer valid through Monday, October 18, 2010, 11:59pm ET. Free shipping offer applies to orders shipped via ground shipping totaling $150+ after 30% discount on sale items and before shipping, handling and taxes are added. Savings are applied at checkout with code MUSTHAVE. Offer not valid on phone orders. Cannot be combined with any other promotion. Limit one promotional code per order.Several JCAs, including myself, did not take advantage of the last promotion (that ended yesterday for 20% off on full priced items). I wonder if this new promotion is to get our attention and more importantly, to start buying. In any case, I welcome it! :)
Will you take advantage of this latest promotion? If so, what items did you pick up?

ReplyDeleteHappy Friday, JCAs! I am thinking of biting on the Cashmere Cody Cardigan. Does anyone have this? How is the quality and fit? Worth it for ~$70? Thanks in advance :)
ReplyDeleteJust wondering how you get the chat feature to work. I have had it pop up lots of times but now that I want to use it I cannot find it. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteGenny,
ReplyDeleteThe button is usually at the top right corner of the page. It's weird because sometimes there is a button and sometimes not. Hth!
Lia, I tried it in store and it runs VERY small, I would size up. Can't comment on quality of this year cashmere but it was a littlebit thin IMO.
ReplyDeleteGenny, I swear that there was a "chat now" box on the upper right corner of my screen but it seems to be gone. I usually close the window and reopen it so it would pop-up.
Also wanted to say that I received my Silvana cardigan from the 30% off promo and it is divine. I went with my usual size (XS) and I don't think that it's particularly tight in the arms (I could wear a long-sleeved tee under it). Would recommend it with the 30% off.
factory tab is gone- i guess everyone realized there wasn't any sort of "deal" to be found.
ReplyDeleteI was just trolling through the Final Sale section on the JCrew website, wandered into the regular section and was wondering where the Outlet was. Doesn't that usually open up at 12 am Friday morning?
ReplyDeleteI haven't bought anything from there yet, but thought I'd look to see if I could come up w/$150 worth of stuff to make the current promo worthwhile
Lia,
ReplyDeleteI tried the Cody Cardi during the in-store 30% off sweater promo, and I too thought it ran really small. I also found the cashmere to be slightly itchy, which surprised me, because despite other quality issues I've had with JC cashmere (pilling, etc) I have never found it itchy before. For what it's worth, I passed.
Very sneaky about the factory tab gone. I guess they don't want the 30% off to be applied on factory store items that are on promo...
ReplyDeleteI definitely want to take advantage of the promo this weekend, but I'd really like to see a restock first...
ReplyDeleteFor those who are interested, click here.
ReplyDeleteHope this helps! :)
the extra 30 code works with factory items as well. use the code the alexis provided above. :)
ReplyDeleteI feel like we are always saying this, but sale section looks pretty tired and it's still final sale, so no, I think I'll pass.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone tried the Grosgrain Gather Top? The price has been steadily plummeting, and I can't tell if that's an indication of bad quality or fit. I got a top this summer in a stripe pattern that had barely been online for a minute and was then marked down from $98 to 59.99 to 39.99 to $19.99 in stores within 3 weeks. The fit is ridiculous. I had to size down 2-3 sizes and it's still a little off. But I liked the pattern (Novo stripe) and then the price...
ReplyDeleteLia, I have the Cody and love it! I ordered the dark plum color. Since I hadn't seen it in-store I went with my usual sweater size (a medium for me) and while it is a shrunken style I would not size up. I like it quite a bit! Shopwithm has an IRL pic here to give you an idea of what I mean.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alexis :)
ReplyDeleteFor those interested in Factory, I posted some of the deals I saw when I was in the store on Wed in the weekly review. There's a good number of things that were on clearance (plus additional 30 in-store). Not sure if the other promos are still good.
Can anyone comment on the sizing of the glimmer cardigan (28147)? Does it run TTS or it is small across the shoulders/sleeves? TIA
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone have any guidance on size for the tiered silk ruffle cami? I usually wear a 6 in tops and wore a small in the tango tank. I would usually order a small unless it runs small. TIA!!
ReplyDeleteEma,
ReplyDeleteI bought the glimmer cardigan during the last sale on final sale and was a bit wary, but I'm in love. It fits TTS, maybe even slightly large in the body (it has baseball-like sleeves), and on me seems slightly cropped. I'm 5'6" with a longer torso, so maybe that's why...
I'm also interested in the Cody cardigan and would like to hear more.
Also, does anyone have the Cashmere zip cardigan (32076)? I love the purple color (summer hyacinth), but after all the reviews of last year's cashmere, I'm a bit worried about quality.
i bought 2 cashmere cody cardigans during the 30% and 25% off promo, and i think for $50, i can't really complain. The IRL pix are in my blog
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteLia: I have the cody in what I think is matisse blue (but it looks more turquoisey/green-ish to me in person). I haven't worn it for a full day yet, but it's definitely comfy and shorter than a lot of the other Cashmere cardis Crew sells. I'm pretty pleased with it for what it is (basic v-neck cardi with basic buttons and pockets). For $70, I say do it.
ReplyDeleteJ Crew website is not working. Maybe the internet is trying to save us all some money.
ReplyDeleteSome nice items, like arrow sweater, cashmere v-neck henley, double serge pencil skirt are not coming up final sale, so pretty good deal with no shipping. I also got striped pocket tees in pewter and taupe. FS, but I have it in olive and love it.
ReplyDeleteI bought 2 cody cardis at the time of 30+25 store promo and they run small, imo. But after I sized up to M they are perfect. Pocket zip cardi and shawl popover are also a good deal with this sale, both run tts, although I sized up in shawl popover for a more slouchy fit. I love the heater agate color. It is not as orange as it seems on website, more of a warm, subdued, rusty shade, very pretty and flattering especially with brown hair. hth
JCrew's site always goes down when they have a 30% off sale. It's not even THAT much of a discount. Won't be taking advantage due to frustration with their site. The least they can do is be prepared for the traffic they're trying to generate.
ReplyDeleteGood grief! The website crashed.
ReplyDeleteFree shipping code on $100 orders YQC83N exp. November 5.
Necessary_Articles, thank you. I will return the favour: I have the cashmere zip cardigan and I love it. The zips stick out a little bit but besides this it's a fantastic cardigan, very chic and luxurious. I have some pics on my blog.
ReplyDeleteBoston Brit, the tiered top fits TTS to small. It really depends on your bra size as the elastic can cut through the chest if you are busty.
HTH
For those the site is not working, try a different browser - I switched from Firefox to Explorer, and it's working fine. HTH!
ReplyDeleteRegarding the chat feature -- I think when associates log in as available to chat, the window pops up and you see it in the upper-right hand corner. When they log out, it disappears. Don't quote me as I'm guessing based on experience.
ReplyDeleteCan someone comment on the cody sweater Heather agate color? I am trying to decide which color to order, is the heather agate more of a muted dark color shown on the product page of the Cody cardigan or is it more of a brighter color as shown on the dream v neck cardi(28764) in the same color?
ReplyDeleteI ordered the pebble jacquard pencil skirt (item 29022) with my 25% off card. If you're a sucker for shimmer and/or pencil skirts - and I am - you might enjoy it. I found the fit typical for JC's jacquard skirts - a little more snug than the double-serge pencils, for example - but my regular size 4 fit nicely. The camel color is lovely, and the metallic is a platinum gold. The fabric is more substantial than, say, the crackled copper skirt. I don't think it would be out of the question for the office (as the color is very neutral and the silhouette polished), but it definitely will work through the holidays, too. HTH!
ReplyDeleteI was all set to buy but in the end the promo was too confusing. How do I know whether my order will hit $150 AFTER the 30% off? I ended up just dropping the whole idea, too bad!
ReplyDeleteFACTORY STORE HIDE & SEEK
ReplyDeleteI actually have this bookmarked and have shopped midweek with no problems in the past. Got 2 items with the 30 OFF last night too!
P.S.. Did anyone notice all the 3/4 stripe tees in crewcuts have mysteriously disappeared too, they probably do this whenever a promo comes around. Sneaky JC.
http://www.jcrew.com/factory.jsp?srcCode=AFFI00001&siteId=T*L%2Fj1OJQXY-QSyBg0XYIzyYCnnwNK*Yeg
Hi all! Just to confirm, the items purchased with the promotion on the Factory site are *not* final sale--correct? I know that the special language on the factor site does not say anything about final sale, but I don't want to get taken in by some kind of "lump it all in together" subterfuge.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
I bit and ordered the cashmere crewneck tee, cashmere v-neck henley, and another perfect fit ruffle henley (love!).
ReplyDeleteAnybody think that maybe Fall Sale will be coming on Monday... or is that just wishful thinking?
ReplyDeleteI had a feeling extra30 was coming. I panicked yesterday because I saw the top I needed for a swimsuit bottom I have FINALLY pop back in my size after waiting all summer to see it again. ... So I had to buy it. Only $9.99 so no biggie.
ReplyDeleteBut of course extra30 sucked me in this morning. Ban broken, but I lasted a long time! (lol) I got the Cecelia cami in green and ivory -- I tried it on in-store a few weeks ago and really liked the green one. It's got pretty teeny-tiny cabochon buttons, which I love. :) I can wear it all year round, so love it at $24 (post-discount). Got some Bermuda shorts for next summer at $9.99, can't resist. Also the Thicket Floral bikini for a pittance! Tissue ruffle rows shell in ivory for wearing under jackets this fall. ... Double-serge pencil skirt (natural), been looking at this for a long time. ... plus a couple of the folded-flower tanks for next spring/summer and 2 tees for my son.
I'm intrigued by something I found purely by accident. Check out item# 26990, the pebble Seraphina dress. Can anyone tell me anything about whether the fit is flattering?
It's so pretty and unique, and for the price I think I'm willing to take a chance. ... but I have the silk twill Ottoman vionette dress is a 10 and the top part falls down, it's too big on me.
Can anyone help? TIA!
Elaine
silver_lining, i'm going to go out on a limb and say i don't think so. i think pretty much all online sale items are going to stay final sale. clearly JC is overflowing with stock. if they were smart, they'd slash prices to a painful level on all of it and just clear it out. ... but this year more than most, it just seems like we've been looking at the same stuff since what, April? they need to have another warehouse sale and toss the shopworn/damaged items and bring in all this stuff!
ReplyDeleteif anyone is looking for the sequin pencil skirt (30279 ), I picked it up yesterday for $29. So it might be good to call your SA and have them place an order via the redphone or see if they can apply the 30% off in-store. That's what my SA always does.
ReplyDeleteClick here to get to the Factory Store page.

ReplyDeleteJeanine, I just bought the factory double serge bistro mini and it wasn't marked finale sale so I think you are good.
ReplyDeleteCrazy, the Natalie dipped toe leather flats popped back in almost all the sizes including the midnight blue color that I was willing to buy FS but soldout before I could. For $41 I couldn't resist. Also got the bayberry flouncette blouse and a pair of black Minnies to get the free shipping. I can resist everything but temptations ;-).
Thanks for the comments on the Cody ladies! I decided to go for it in the black, bronzed olive and heather cobblestone. Out of my entire closet I have practically no simple cardigans so...really hoping these work out. Have a great weekend everyone!
ReplyDeleteEma - irl pics of the glimmer cardigan in this post. I went w/my usual size of S. The sleeves are fitted like many of the cardigans this year, but I wouldn't wear something like a button down under it anyway.
ReplyDeleteHi all, OT, I don't shop at Old Navy, but I got 2 coupons for buy any adult item, get any kids item free. Good 10/15-10/21, *but you must use a BR/Gap/ON credit card.* I think you can get as many items as you want but the codes can only be used once, so first come, first served on these:
ReplyDeleteD2DB972CGM4G
LZMT6TTTRHBW
Stopped into B&M to make return. The only new arrival they had in was the lace silk tank. No extra 30% off sale.
ReplyDeleteFYI, the Flannery Ballet flats and heels (not booties) are also on sale. They don't appear for me under the FS shoe section but show up if you view all or search.
ReplyDeleteI got them with 25% off last Friday and today they gave me the PA on them. Since I recall they popped back in a lot of sizes last Friday, I'm not the only one who deserves that PA and thought I'd mention it.
Random Question, but does anything at Factory come in an XXS or 00 ?
ReplyDeleteHa . .got my order to equal $150.78 after applying the 30%. Take that JCrew! You only got an extra $0.78 from me. :)
ReplyDeleteGot the Factory printed Annalise ruffle cami in Nectar, Factory colorblock cardigan in Navy Heather Graphite, Vintage Matchstick cord in Soft Ochre (hope my normal size fits since these are FS), Bici tee, and threw in a full price black leather belt I needed anyway to get to the 150.78.
Went to B&M last night for a return and walked out with the Wool Tuxedo Shorts (#29875) for only $29.99!! Awesome deal and I've been eyeing those forever. They are still full price on-line so you might want to check your B&M. Hope that helps!!
The daisy day skirt popped back this am in my size and I snagged it right away! Still hoping it ships... Not free ship of course but I'm still so excited about it!

ReplyDeleteThere is nothing that I MUSTHAVE (pun)to risk Final Sale. Pass.
ReplyDeleteArgh did anybody else notice the price of the Arrow Jacket and Infinity cargians went up by $10. I had been looking at these two items last night and they were both $69 but today they are $79!
ReplyDeleteHello All,
ReplyDeleteThis is my second-ever comment here, though I blurk on this blog and a few others on the blogroll here all the time.
I wanted to post a few review notes:
1. Ordered the tortoise shell patent peeptoe pumps #28203, which are eligible for the extra 30 off. They're gorgeous, but seem to run a 1/2 size large if you've got a narrow foot. The heel is perfect for wearing all day, if you're going to be on your feet. Lovely and I love that it's real leather (not fake, unlike the TB flats I almost bought recently).
2. I bought the sequin harem pants. Yes, THE sequin harem pants. Don't kill me - even if you sit there giggling. I'm from the East and we're not afraid of wearing embellished clothing - at the right time and place. They're actually VERY comfy, well made and not scary. There's a slight risk of looking a bit fish-like in the original "antique gold" colour, so if you're up for the adventure, the black ones they're offering now will be fabulous, no question. I have already thought up a couple of outfits with them and will also wear them at my brother's wedding with a tunic in December.
3. Someone here asked about the glimmer cardigan. I bought that in a Small, b/c I always size up from my true size for Jackies, but I'm finding that most cardis and shirts this year are too large in a small for me. I'm 5.3 and ~100lbs., 34B up top. So, I didn't like the looseness of the glimmer cardi around the waist and back in the larger size and went with an XS. It's beautiful. If you can do glimmer cardi then you should consider harem pants! :)
ANyway, much love for this blog. Hope this helps someone.
Yvonne- I noticed that too about the Infinity cardigans! I was lucky to scoop one up very early this morning when it was still $69.50 for the newer colors! They're so sneaky!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alexis and gigiofca, for posting the link to the factory store. I love the fit of the Factory cashmere crewneck cardis and was hoping I could apply the 30% off promo which I did! Also bought the Factory marled wool cardigan, Factory ruffle scarf in dusty blossom, both with the 30% off, and the Factory silver lace mini for full price which I think I'm liking a little better than the Severn lace mini judging by the photo. AND I got my first ever successful "we will find it" email about the Dolce tweed mini which shipped from Seattle this morning - yay! Fall shopping is officially complete and my credit card is on strike :)
ReplyDeleteI was also pleased to discover that none of the Factory items were marked final sale when I applied the discount. I've ordered way too much this week and need to be able to return what I don't absolutely love.
SAAZH, I say you rock those sequin harem pants!!! :) Like I said, if I had the guts to wear them, I'd buy them in a heartbeat!
ReplyDeleteOff topic, but Gawker (Jezebel's parent site) is all over the lace tights that make your legs look hairy.
ReplyDeletehttp://gawker.com/5664880/j-crew-and-the-case-of-the-hairy-legs
Also interesting to note in one of the comments that the JC stock is trading down 15 points from the 52 week high. I mused about this before... I think the quality issues and the ratty embellished T's and all the other issues we've discussed here may be coming home to roost...
I put 13 random things in my cart that I thought I might buy... and a half hour later when I went to check out, all but two were gone. So, oh well. I think I'm going to my local factory b&m later so that should satisfy my j.crew craving.
ReplyDeleteOT: Talbots is having 20% off everything AND free shipping any amount 4-7 pm only tonight. (Not sure but I think this is Eastern time but could not find this info. in the fine print.)
ReplyDeleteCode: 900796147
Em - I had the same problem a little while ago - I couldn't believe it was all actually gone, so I went through and re-added, and pretty much everything was still available.
ReplyDeleteSeems like they're having lots of website issues today.
Mia - I couldn't get that link to work directly, so I googled "j crew hairy legs." Too funny how many hits I got! Granted, many were just links back to the same Gawker post, but pdf if you ask me. :) They'd be a great addition to a Halloween costume!
any comments or reviews on the Houndstooth Bomber? TIA :)
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen the Crystal steps necklace in person? If so, what's your opinion about the necklace? Thanks in advance!
ReplyDelete@Mia, J Crew hairy legs are all over the Internet, i saw one on Huffington Post and on couple other sites. Funny thing is, many people seem to think this was intentional, I guess it takes a JCA to know how sloppy JC can be with their web photos.
ReplyDeleteThere are a few things I like, but nothing I'm willing to risk final sale for except for a pair of tights. Of course that gets me nowhere near the free ship minimum, so I'm passing.
ReplyDeleteI asked on the other post, but I'll ask here too: if you were deciding between the Thandie or the Factory Schoolboy blazer which would you get? I'm very torn, but leaning toward the Thandie. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOT: Lots of other sales this weekend, aside from Talbots, mentioned above.
ReplyDeleteEddie Bauer has a one day sale tomorrow, online & in B&M. Code CELEBRATE.
BR Canada online has 25% off everything plus free ship ($50 min.) Code BRTHANKSCA expires Sunday.
Ugh, I didn't want to play the FS game, but I'm curious about Marigold jacquard bell skirt. Can anyone comment as to size/fit/color/quality etc.?
ReplyDeleteAny feedback would be appreciated. TIA!
Just FYI for any Boston-area shoppers: the SA in Chestnut Hill today said they're becoming a "luxe" store, which means they'll be carrying XXS and XXL in the store, supposedly.
ReplyDeleteI ordered some crewcuts for my niece and nephew. :) I forgot that free shipping applied to sale crewcuts, so I was pleasantly surprised to see my sale email! If some of the items I want had been marked down, then I would have bought more. But I don't want to pay full price when I know they'll get marked down within around a month. Plus, I'm going to Disney next month and need to save up to buy Christmas and b-day gifts for my niece and nephew. :D
ReplyDeleteSo the extra 30% off doesn't apply to factory items that aren't marked down. I put a "full-price" factory item in my cart, and didn't receive the extra 30% off. I'm going to talk to a jcrew worker and see if this is supposed to happen b/c on the factory site, it doesn't distinguish between the sale items and the regularly priced factory items.

ReplyDeleteI finally gave in to temptation and ordered the cashmere henley that I've been wanting forever. (I stupidly didn't order it during the 30% + 25% promo. Doh!) The good news is that it was 30% off with the code and yet was not marked in my cart as final sale -- which is great because I have no idea how it will fit.
ReplyDeleteI got the Traversa in the Orchid and the Marled Cardigan in the Saddle--was all ready to buy the Gorgeous GABBY PURSE in the LILAC but SOLD OUT! Watching and waiting for a popback--it'd be great to get that on 30% off. I've never really checked out your blog before for some strange reason!
ReplyDeleteNo final sale for me and the sale section is really picked over.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend everyone!
Rosie, I have a pic of the cashmere henley on my blog. I am 5'6" and took an XS. Usually I am S in sweaters.
ReplyDeleteJust got off the phone w/ customer service...they didn't even realize that the factory site is up and that the code applies to factory items as well! But, they weren't able to help me out about the factory items that are regularly priced not getting the code reduction. But, still, they're at least honoring the code application to factory sale items.
ReplyDeleteHello. Does anyone shop at Crewcuts for themselves? I'm interested in the Girls' pretty parade cardigan. I think I might be a size 10 or 12 or 14??? J.Crew's XS is usually too big for me (damn vanity sizing!) so I'm hoping CrewCuts might be a good option, but kid's clothing are usually wide and short. I'm super hesitant to buy it since its final sale. Your advice would be appreciated, thanks.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen the Cashmere zip cardigan (32076) in summer hyacinth, sea mist or glacier IRL? I love the purple (summer hyacinth), but I'm just not sure if it will be as bright as it is online.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ema for your comments about the zip cardigan!
LOVE I've purchased several Crewcuts cardigans for myself, mostly v-neck cardigan styles. For reference, I am a J Crew XXS/XS/O in most tops/tees, 5'2" and a 00 in most of the newer JC dresses. I usually take a 12 in girls, the 10 is just too short in sleeves, even for the resulting bracelet 3/4 look. Definitely look for the less "square" styles. If you have fairly narrow shoulders and stick to v and scoopneck vs. crewnecks you should be OK. In my experience the 12 will give you a decent bit more length depending in where your waist hits but it also increases the boxiness. HTH
ReplyDeleteLOVE I looked at the specific cardi and based on the ribbed hem and shape I would maybe try a CC 12. Be prepared to push up the sleeves as might not be full length on you. If you call JC customer service they can provide measurements if you need specifics of length or chest.
ReplyDeleteThank you GetFresh for your response. I was able to get the measurements from their online help: In size 10, the bust is 28.5", shoulders are 11.25", length is 21.5", and sleeve is 25". In size 12 the same measurements are 29.5", 11.75", 22.75", and 26.25". In size 14 they are 31", 12.25", 24.25", and 27.75". I think size 12 would be best for me. I don't mind the shorter sleeves, I kinda like the 3/4 sleeve. *crossing my fingers* hope it works out. Final sale makes me so nervous!
ReplyDeleteCan anyone tell me if the Calista cami runs TTS or large? I am usually a 4 in shirts, but the pilar paisley cami was a draw, so one can never be sure. Odd, the collar on the model looks like a completely different shirt than when it's photographed alone.
ReplyDeleteNecessary Articles...
ReplyDeleteThe Summer Hyacinth is pretty bright but I'd say its similar to the color on screen if you can imagine it without a flash.
The Glacier is slightly more faded than the pic and I would add not quite as rich.
I have both of these colors in other sweaters. I can take a pic tomorrow if you are interested in those. Just post a note here.
My PS told me Sea Mist was similar to last year's bright seaside, which I own so I didn't buy it in any style.
Hope that helps!

ReplyDeleteSubscribing. :)
ReplyDeleteoh dear - found the factory page, put stuff in and j crew took it right back out again 5 minutes later whilst I was still shopping! Too quick for me and I am obviously not clever enough!
ReplyDeleteThanks Caroline! I'd love to see some pictures of them IRL.
ReplyDelete@Heidi, I had the same question about the northern lights necklace yesterday. Spoke with someone over the phone, and was told that the item was out of stock online, however, they could do a nation wide search. It was still selling at full price: $75.
ReplyDeleteOk, ok, I bit. But only because I really need a pair of gray flats to replace my gray lulus which are basically dead from wearing them nearly every day. And I was very good... I only got that item final sale, and threw in the double serge striped pencil skirt for a ride along to get free shipping, which I will try on for kicks (to see if I like it enough to buy later on final sale) and promptly return to my B&M.
ReplyDeleteCharlotteSometimes-
ReplyDeleteI have the moss blossom Calista (wore it yesterday) and I think it runs a little big, but it seems most of J. Crew's camis do. I always take a 4 in perfect shirts, but I took a 2 in both the Calista and Pilar Paisley camis.
This is what's driving me nuts...yesterday I loaded my cart with the fitted stretch cotton shirts in the 3 colours that were marked down to $49.50 ($10 off FP) from the FS section. This morning I checked my cart and they're back up to FP and gone from FS, so they no longer qualify for 30% off! URGH!!
ReplyDeleteCharlotte Sometimes, I really like the Calista but had trouble w/the fit. I think it runs fairly TTS t but the problem for me is that it pulls across the chest. And my chest isn't that big, really. So, to get it to fit, I took my normal size, but felt it was a little big everywhere else. Because of that, I decided against it. I really like it though. HTH.
ReplyDeleteNec Art: I did my best, I appreciate now how hard it is to get the pictures to be a good representation (except I'm an accountant and JC should be able to get it right!). I made notes where needed for you to get a better idea.
ReplyDeletehttp://picasaweb.google.com/CarolineLChoe/Personal?authkey=Gv1sRgCPKr3uSTu6CYDA#
I just saw this today and am so happy i just picked up the Cord pencil skirt in shadow and with the extra 30%off it was a steal!!
ReplyDeleteCarnivore girl IMO the Marigold jacquard bell skirt is a really hard skirt to wear! I tried it on and my normal size and size up just didn't look right. I've seen a lot of people try it on and have not seen many that it looked really great on! I love j crew minis so I don't mean that in a mean way but if you love it I would size up and take to the tailor (which stinks to pay for that too!) I hope that helps. It just doesn't lay right and creates this weird unflattering pouch!!
ReplyDeleteyogagirl - it's funny you say, "I've never really checked out your blog before for some strange reason!" because you used to post here all the time and your blog "love your life and your look today" has been on the blog roll for well over a year. I know because I used to follow it until it got all political. Nothing wrong with that and it's your blog but I was only interested in your jcrew outfits. But really, you used to post here a lot under your old handle. Short memory I guess.
ReplyDeleteI would like to purchase of of the Dream V-neck Cardigans that is on sale, but have heard a lot of complaints about the Dream material. Does anybody know what the dream cardigans are like this year and could tell me a bit more about them?
ReplyDeleteAlice: I ordered 2 of the Dream v-neck cardis this year. Aside from being a bit too big on me (I'm 5' tall), the material definitely felt like it'd be easily torn. The sweater was very delicate, in kind of a "don't sit on the white couches because you will spill wine on them and they will be ruined" way. I don't recommend ordering unless you don't plan to wear it that much or rough it up at all.
ReplyDeleteAlice, I agree with Ali. Last year's dream fabric felt a lot sturdier and better made. This years seems weak and thin, a bit stretchy but in a bad way. I was really disappointed as I think the colors are beautiful but I could picture my disappointment after about 5 wears.
ReplyDeleteYogaGirl: Your comment made me a bit sad for the reason CaptainCrew mentioned (relating to you didn't know about this blog until now). :(
ReplyDelete@ajc or anyone else who has the strip pocket tee- how do those fit? more like a tissue tee or more like a perfect fit tee? I usually like a tighter fit but don't want to go too tight with stripes!
ReplyDeletetia.
gev,
ReplyDeleteI am usually an XS in regular tees from J.Crew and I size up in the Perfect Fit tees. I bought the Striped Pocket tee in S and it is fitted through the sleeves and slightly loose in the torso. You can see a photo of it on me here. HTH!
FYI,
ReplyDeleteI went to Polaris in Columbus today and stopped by J Crew. They had the Marled Thandie Jacket in my size and I decided to buy it. I took it up to the register and said "it's too bad you don't have 30% off like online" and was told that they could match the 30% off, but it would be final sale and I could not return it. Final price, $34.99 plus tax!
Has anybody purchased the Ciel Etoile Cardigan? It looks pretty online, but I'm worried about the size and fit. Thanks for the help!
ReplyDeleteAlice -- I have the natural Ciel Etoile cardigan and love it. With the discount, it's coming to $35, which I think is a great deal! I waver between XS and S and went with the small. It fits really nicely.
ReplyDeletePics here.
For those who have the Calista cami, how do those neckline pleats hold up when you wash it? I think it's a lovely piece, but I'm worried about how it will wash...
ReplyDeleteAlso, is the bayberry scarf still in stores?
TIA! :)
oops... sub :)
ReplyDeleteAmanda - I've seen tons of bayberry scarves in stores. Full price, though.
ReplyDeleteKristin - That's what I thought I remembered from the last time I was there. Thanks!!
ReplyDeletegev, I am not sure if you get this but I agree with Andrea. I am in between S & M in tops. I usually get an M in perfect tees because I don't like them too tight but I got an S in pocket stripe tee. The arms are tighter but the body is loose. What I love the most about it is the neck which is in between crew neck and scoop neck.
ReplyDeleteI'm so annoyed! I ordered the Katzy cami on Final Sale and when it arrived, it wasn't lined! It says "fully lined" on the website. The lining was the virtue that made me order it. And now, the top is sold out completely, which means I can return it to the store as defective (per the CS email I received about this), but I can't possibly replace it. I really wasn't expecting No Lining! Mon dieu!
ReplyDeleteIts really annoying.
