Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

    1. that was my thought when I first saw it online. too bad. they could have done a better job. looks like ( 3 pages on Gigi's instagram of new style guide ) there will be alot more gingham coming... ( I find gingham a fairly youthful look ...on me anyway > if anyone has the guide can they...scan !!! thanks C

    2. Ann Taylor has some cute gingham dresses, maybe a little more work friendly. Their sheath is nice and tailored.

    3. I denfitely see the "apron" potential in the gingham sundress....the wide straps, the pleats at the waist....I love gingham, but not like this! TeriLynn, I do like the Ann Taylor gingham sheath dress, very chic, and the mustard gingham shell is a nice change from the usual black and navy ginghams.

    4. wow....Ann Tayor....bye bye J Crew for awhile. I am loving everything from dresses to Jewelery. ( have not bought J Crew gems for ages...terrible IMO.) Anne has gingham down to a fine art ...

  4. Unlikely to go into a store this weekend as our weather turns dreadful (again), but did receive the navy faux-leather pleated mini (already owned the black, love this skirt!) and the Collection structured striped sweater, both currently on very attractive sale. Ordered the sweater having never seen it irl, and I love it! Structured but soft, online model photos quite accurate as to how it looks on the body. Took my regular size but could easily have gone down one, depends on your tolerance for cocoon shapes. Wearing both today on my IG - @poettodesign

    1. Hi Melissa, I mailed back the cargo dress yesterday afternoon, size 6 in green (I've gained a few pounds...). Perhaps a VPS could watch for it for you? Good luck.

    2. Thanks! I'll contact them. I had the same poundage problem with the 4 I ordered :)

  7. Does anyone have a review of the silk pleated hibiscus print dress? Looking for a dress for a spring/summer wedding. There's positive reviews on the website but I don't know if the print will be a bit overwhelming on my frame (4'11")

  8. Helloooo....review here of the stripe ruffled-sleeve dress. The dress wears very well. Almost no wrinkles.

  9. I'll go to drop off some returns, (sailor chino short, weird fit, linen ballet neck tee, just meh) hoping to pick up the new style guide too! Also, took a final sale risk on the gingham excursion vest yesterday, 29.99! I couldn't resist, everyone seems to like it, so fingers crossed!

    1. Appreciated your mention of the gingham excursion vest. Had not noticed until read your post that it had moved to the 50% of sale section. A great price on an excursion vest. Managed to snag one in store yesterday, although online Canada looks sold out. Gingham print looks fresh to wear with lighter coloured pants in this transitional season here but will also work in winter with darker layers. Thank you !

    1. Hi, since it's not on Pinterest I'm guessing online arrivals won't be this week then. Hopefully someone knows for sure. Originally a store told me new arrivals would be in this week but someone else mentioned the 18th so I'm not sure what's going on.

    13. @maryeb, thanks for asking; here are my favs. I like the tie dye canvas print on the Sloans, I'm not interested in the shoe, but curious to see what clothing that print shows up on. Like the Gazebo pant; the persimmon was on my wishlist since I had already tried it in store (pics on my IG). I like the Kelly green & stripe in this pant too. I do like the woven cork with ankle strap flat; the tassels remind me of the Harper from last year but instead of leather, JC used polyurethane which rarely works for my feet. Any favs for you?

    14. The Gazebo Pant looks perfect for Summer and it comes it petite! I'm not seeing the tie dye Sloans, but I'm a sucker for prints and this sounds like a good one.
I don't need it, but love the look of the Overtime Dress. It looks polished and comfortable. Also love the green Gingham dress (pg.42?) and the Cotton Clip dot Midi. @Ina has a review on her IG. Thanks again for posting the Guide. I'm really looking forward to this roll-out.

  14. OT-Has anyone tried the Ballet Cap-sleeve T-shirt? I'm curious about the sizing. If you hand washed it or not, how it turned out. Thanks!
On a frustrating note, another one of my new Painter tees developed not one, but two holes. I loved the deco blue color, too.

    1. hi Maryeb, I just tried/returned the ballet cap sleeve t, the pink, the red and the white. The fabric was nice, midweight, and the colors were bright, not heathered, and the white wasn't too see through. It was a long, lean fit, but I took the smaller of my two jcrew tee shirt sizes. Ultimately I wanted more of a cap sleeve, the 'sleeve', small as it was, was so short that I felt it looked more like a muscle tank.

      Delete
    2. Thanks for the info @stripedsocks! It looks like a really nice top. I'm sorry the sleeves didn't work out. What do you think about going up a size, too loose in the body, better sleeve length?

      Delete
    3. hi again! I think it's a style that will still look good if you size up, it wasn't boxy at all. and it's definitely worth a try, because it was a nice quality shirt. good price on promo too! hope it works!

  15. Tried on the summer weight sweater and really liked it. I stuck with my typical size for a more relaxed fit - could have sized down for a more fitted look.

  16. Hello Crew Ladies! Any chance the gingham sundress will go in promo again?

  17. OT: I have a Poshmark dilemma that I'm hoping one of you ladies may be able to advise me on. I purchased a J.Crew denim jacket last week, and asked the seller for the style number because I am searching for a specific jacket. Well, it arrived last Friday, and it is completely the wrong style number...she didn't even come close to the correct one. I opened a 'claim' and Poshmark has offered me a $40 posh credit to keep the jacket. Is this the best I will get in this circumstance, or can I decline and hope for a full refund of my purchase amount?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hmmm...would the $40 at least cover enough so that if you re-listed it you could cover your expenses?
I'd certainly not give the seller a good rating for that.

      Delete
    2. Hi Suz - yes, it does cover more than half, and I'm sure I'll purchase on Poshmark again, but I am definitely frustrated that she sent me a completely different jacket than the one she said she was selling. I really would like to just get a full refund, but I'm not sure if they do that, or not. I have only purchase a handful of times on Poshmark, and this is the first time I've had a problem with my order, so I'm not sure how their CS works in these situations.

      Delete
    3. Btw, I wanted to thank you for posting the review and pic of the military trench coat. I actually found one for sale on Poshmark in my size, and I absolutely love it!

      Delete
    4. Oh, that's awesome! I've sold a bit on PM but haven't purchased. (Actually, shoes I'm searching for were on sale but very high priced.)

      Delete
    5. I'm thinking of selling some clothing pieces on there, too. How do you get your images to size correctly on their app? I am having issue fitting the entire clothing piece in the square. Do you use one of the instagram apps that sizes the photo down to fit?

      Delete
    6. I haven't had this problem. I use an iPad or iPhone and it seems to work fine.

      Delete
    7. This is contrary to the information I was provided by Poshmark when I first signed up last fall. According to an e-mail from Poshmark (November 2015), you have a certain number of days to “accept” the item and only then will the seller receive your payment. If it’s not as described, then you don’t pay them. Here it is verbatim, “Once you receive the item, examine it to make sure it is as described in the listing. If everything is A-okay, then please accept your order in the app or website so that we can release your payment to the seller. Your sellers work hard and will appreciate your prompt acceptance. We back each purchase with Posh Protect. If your order is not as described when you receive it, we will help you return it and refund your entire purchase price.” The $40.00 Posh Credit seems like a bunch of nonsense. Personally I would crusade for a refund since this isn’t the item you thought you were getting.
