Ovre 200 New Arrivals at J.Crew! {plus 30% off & free shipping!}

"Thanks!" to many of you, who let us know that J.Crew had an update to its website (click here to view online).

There are 215+ new arrivals for men (click here) & women (click here). {wahoo!} It looks like Crewcuts (click here) has been updated too.

If you love stripes, then you are in for a treat. The website and catalog are covered with them. ;) I am personally excited about some of the midi-length skirts.

Promotion Time! J.Crew is offering an additional 30% off most regular priced merchandise, and 30% off sale, with promo code TIMETOSHOP. This offer expires today, April 21, 2016. They are also offering free shipping on all orders placed today!

What items are you most excited about and why? Which items are you surprised (or not surprised) to see? Which items did you hope would be included? Were you expecting a bigger roll-out? Also, did you receive the latest catalog? :)

  1. I love the white fringed jacket. Reminds me of a jacket from a few years back that I wished I had owned. I also love the Gingham Trench but not sure if I have anywhere to wear it. That will sell out quickly. Some of the pieces remind me of the old J Crew. Maybe they are listening.

  2. For JC cardholders, the promo is 30% off regular priced merch and 40 % off sale merch with code CARDSCORE.

    2. @The American Observer, you can call Customer Service and ask them to apply the code -- this happened to me once and they were able to help. Hope you get it!

  3. The wrap dress is worth considering.

Sale popbacks are amazing though. The gray wool mockneck top is on $83 after promo is applied.

  4. Happy to finally see off shoulder tops so ordered collection navy plaid silk. Also ordered Irish linen popover in flax and emerald green. These colors weren't available in store; I tried the shirt yesterday in store in the French blue and golden rose. I love linen for summer & the shirt felt really good. Hope the colors work. Placed orders using old promo since % off was 35%. Being able to combine with the educator's discount is a plus. I'll receive the candy stripe popover tomorrow; this was a pre-order. Fingers crossed this one works since I've been looking forward to this color scheme since it was shown last year @ NYFW. Finally, picked up stripe long sleeve maxi dress in store yesterday; this will work well for travel. Posted pics of this & a few try ons on IG (peterst1). OT, but I've been wanting the island silk skirt from Madewell. Picked it up yesterday with extra % off sale in black and camouflage green. Don't buy much from Madewell but I love this skirt.

    1. I also bought the linen popover last night in store in blue along with the new paisley pencil skirt and the Garments for Good Bug linen tee. Really love the paisley print, first one in a long time that was a must for me.

    2. @mygoddy I really thought that the golden rose popover was gorgeous on you as well! Also, is the educator discount only available in store? I am guessing that it is, but thought I would ask you just to make sure.

    3. Love the Irish linen popover. The golden rose looks like a pale orange on my monitor. Is this how it looks IRL? Also, How is the sizing? Thanks!

    4. Doodle, is the bee t-shirt fairly thin? I love the design!

      Delete
    5. @mygoddy what is the fabrication of the stripe long sleeve maxi dress? Is it a cotton knit?

      Delete
    6. No, not terribly thin. I will throw a cardigan over it not because of the sheerness but I just like the layering.

    7. @DD, I tried the blue in store and it's a very nice color.

@maryeb, it's definitely a peach color. the fit was tts; I tried an 8 in store in the blue. It's a really lovely color, but something i already have from BR. So, ordered 2 colors I don't have at this point.

@jeannie - thank you! I really like the golden rose, but I bought something in a similar color last year @ Gap. Yes, I can only use the educator discount in store, so I have to make a trip, but I'm cool with it. The only exception to that is when I have a send sale and "sometimes" the SA will include it.

@violetK, the cotton maxi dress is a substantial cotton knit. It has a nice weight to it and the fabric is soft to the touch. Feels nice next to the skin. I took it on a "test run" yesterday with the rainy weather & cooler temps and it worked well.

      Delete
    8. Thanks @mygoddy I've been eyeing that maxi dress! I hope there stretch to the cotton.

    9. @j.elle, yes, there's definitely some stretch to the fabric.

  5. These are what I'm interested in seeing / would like to try:

-Classic Popover in Striped Cotton Gauze (red)
    -Collins Loafers in Coastline navy
    -Fringy Tweed Jacket
    -Canvas Pointy Toe Espadrilles
    -Point Sur Sailor Jean
    -Denim Button Front Dress
    -Gazebo Pant in petite
-Midi Dress in Polka Dot (Not sure about silk in the summer...wish it was made in linen instead). Love how it's styled in the catalog!
    -Button-Front Midi skirt
-Sweater knit midi skirt - Also love how this was styled in Looks We Love

I pre ordered the Denim Button front dress in blue. It's not available till May. Also kind of like the white version...but it's harder to wear.

I'll be stopping by the store today to check out the new stuff.

    2. Hi Vava! I was hoping to see some of the stuff at the store when I visited today, no luck. :-( Have you tried the new stuff you like?

      Delete
    3. I ordered the button front denim dress too. It sounds like it might be long so I ordered my regular size and a petite one too. If anyone's tried the white version, I'd love to head your thoughts!

      Delete
    4. Hi JSR, I ordered a pair of the ponte pants in gray (I have white Maine Coon cats and numerous pairs of black and navy pants that I am constantly using a lint roller on, so I am thinking the gray won't be as problematic in that regard) and also the polka dot shorts. I'm doing more sewing these days, so won't need to order dresses, skirts, or jackets. Always fun to see your reviews!

  6. Nothing too exciting once again except for that off the shoulder top in yellow. I love that! Other than that J. Crew needs to stop pushing stripes...They are so boring and all look the same and everyone already has a million striped tops...I would only pay a low clearance price to by any more stripes...I think J. Crew still needs to get a clue...stripes are not new or fresh...they are the boring same old they seem to do a lot....Kind of frustrated..

    2. They had them at my local store last night, not sure what size you are looking for but I would call a store and have them check, betcha they are out there.

    3. @Jessy - i haven't looked for them online, but like Doodle Dachshund's experience, my store in NYC (5th and 18th St) had a whole bunch of them (with 30% off) just now during my visit. Maybe it's a technical glitch with the site if they're not showing up? Good luck!

    4. you guys are great, thank you so much! I put aside a pair to pick up in a NYC store!

    1. The jersey lomellina ruched deep v-neck suit is so flattering on, and while it's a deep v, because of the crossed straps, the girls won't pop out (I'm a C-cup). I bought the raspberry color to wear in Mexico recently and received lots of compliments...it's also on sale right now.

  11. I ordered the collection striped sweater dress - already sold out in medium and large, and backordered until June?? Anyway, I went with a medium (and apparently got the last one? who knows if it will ship).

Normally I would go with a large in this sort of stretchy style, but medium was all that was left by the time I ordered.

    1. I wondered if they'd ever had it on the site! I got the catalog with it on Saturday and checked online right away and there was no evidence it even existed. Then yesterday, it said it was sold out. I hate when they do that.

  12. I'd like to try the wrap dress (like the longer length but am worried if it will be too low cut for me); ballet tees; clip dot midi; pointy toe ankle strap espadrilles (it looks like a sole on the bottom but am worried if it's just the roping because last year some were like that and they absorb any moisture you walk on and ruin quickly).
I'm happy to see longer lengths and overall I think it's a decent rollout but wish for some beautiful prints. Also happy when I see cotton and machine washable on skirts and dresses for summer.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I quickly ordered the Drapey V-neck Romper in black, I stalked it obsessively last summer, but sold out in my size quickly and was never offered on promo. If the sizing is the same this year, and I'm assuming it is, I would take your smaller size, as it is a truly loose fit.

    1. I ordered this one too. I'm excited to see a romper that has a reasonable inseam! It looks really cute.

  14. Has anyone seen either of the glitter mosaic shoes IRL? I love the look of them online, but worry whether the texture looks as good IRL.

  15. I was all set to buy the striped sailor pant until I saw that lace-up detail in the back. Why?? J.Crew, WHY??

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I know! That's exactly what I thought when I saw them. I don't know how I would wear them.

      Delete
    2. The striped sailor pants are extremely long and describing as high waisted is an understatement! The back lace up is completely bizarre I agree.

      Delete
    3. Why don't I even see them on the site? The navy and white striped ones, correct? They're no where I've checked.

      Delete
    4. I totally agree with everyone. I pre-ordered the striped sailor pants a month ago knowing it could be a sold-out item. Well, I've had this thing in my closet for weeks now to prove my dissatisfaction. I was so excited to open the package and was utterly disappointed in the next minute. The lace up back is unnecessary. It totally ruined the pants for me. First off, it was way way too long for my 5'2" frame and I was ok with some alterations. But there's nothing that can be done to fix that ghastly shoe lace on the back. The pants is just too busy to even look at.

    4. That gingham skirt with the sweatshirt is so cute on you! The skirt, out of linen - I wonder if it will hold the pleat? The website entry says spot clean only.

    5. @vava The pleats were pretty stiff and that probably helps with holding the pleats.
      @maryeb @DD @ carmencatalina Youre very welcome!

  17. Where is the love for Madewell? They had a roll-out as well today.

I tried the Tie-Front Culotte Jumpsuit. Was hesitant to try this one since I am 4'11. Surprised that a size 0 fits me! The length is short on the model, but on me it ended above my ankles, and i was fine with that. It's such a cute jumpsuit, but can only think of one place to wear it to, on a tropical vacation.
Now that I think of it, hoping the 'tie-on at the front' doesn't scream, Barbara Eden on I Dream of Jeannie. Oh my...Hahaha!

I also tried on their wide-leg crop jeans in Birdie Wash. It's high-waisted, but oh so comfortable-I was very surprised because high-waist doesn't usually work on me. The length is crop but it ended above my ankles. I need to buy these. Debating between white or blue.

    1. My favorite gingham items in this highly gingham'd season are from Madewell -- the Bellshift Tank in Gingham Check (runs slightly loose) and the courier shirtdress in buffalo check (runs one size large)...

    2. I didn't realize they had new arrivals, too. Thanks!

    3. How's the sizing on the crop wide leg jeans? I'm a 26/27 in the 9" high rise skinny jeans.

      Delete
    4. Hi Erica, I say it fits TTS. I'm usually a 25 in low rise jeans but I size up when it's high waisted. Is the 9" higher than their standard high rise jeans?

      Delete
    5. Hi JSR, I have a pair of skinny skinny jeans and according to the site the rise is 8". The 27s fit tighter in the low rise, and I would say the 27s in the 9" are a tiny bit big. I have 10" jcrew look out jeans in a 26, so I guess it depends on waist to hip ratio? I live in Canada, so it's a huge pain to do returns!

      Delete
    6. I wear a 26 or 27 but bought the 26s. I hope it works out.

      Delete
    7. Since I picked their little catalog at the store yesterday; I'm reading here the Wide leg crop has a 10 1/2 rise. Wow! When I tried it on, I didn't think it was that long...considering that I'm short waisted. It looked good on me.

  18. Highly recommend the vintage plaid scarf and the daisy tortoise earrings. Also highly recommend the watercolor floral silk top, which is beautiful and TTS. Rec'd the watercolor floral silk dress, and it too is very lovely, but lined in poly; not great for sticky DC summers. Will likely keep, however -- it's that pretty. Also love the colette d'Orsay pumps in glitter mosaic -- TTS and so gorgeous.

  19. I ordered the midi sweater skirt, gingham slogans and crystal foliage necklace. I would love the collection polka dot sandals but not in the budget right now.

  21. Picked up a few items but increasingly, I'm shopping with British companies, like Mint Velvet. I like Wrap London, too, but I hear bad things about their customer service. JC should copy some of those styles! They're so fresh and innovative.

  22. Hello Crew ladies! Happy shopping, so many new things to like, too many, love love the new shoes! What do you girls think of the Colette metallic rose gold d'Orsay pumps? Too shiny, too much? I kind of like them.

    Replies
    1. I think they are great! I love the color. The only thing I would wonder about is how they hold up. The uppers are polyurethane and not leather. Will it crack?

      Delete
    2. I just noticed after posting that part of the description of that shoe says metallic leather, then below that it says polyurethane. I wonder which it is?? For the price, they should be leather. Hopefully J Crew can clarify that.

      Delete
    3. Since it says PU upper, and leather lining, I'm pretty sure the exterior is PU, and only the lining is leather. Weird, as I have the colette tortoise pumps (which specify leather upper) and lots of JC metallic shoes that all have leather uppers. I get why JC would use FABRIC instead of leather for a specific look, but polyurethane???? That's just unbreathable, unstretchable plastic isn't it? I would definitely not buy at this price (and maybe not ever).

      Delete
    4. Sorry, I sound so negative. I do love the color. For me, at least, rose gold is a surprising and lovely neutral...

    1. Hi Rynetta, cute coat! Is it fully lined? The photo on the webpage shows a glimpse of the inside of the coat and that's why I'm wondering. Thank you!

      Delete
    2. Only the front and sleeves are fully lined. The back is lined to about where your shoulder blades are. The seams are nicely finished with a binding tape (white), making the inside look like a much more expensive coat.
Mine just arrived and its is very nice! Pattern matched. Was on a hanger in a box, folded in half - the coat! Sleeves are not too tight, shoulder room. I am 5'7" and it ends just above my knees. Fabric is nice, I do not think this is a coat for a rain storm, more for cool sunny or overcast days, when no rain is in sight!
I do not need a coat. But, may just keep this its a very nice article of clothing, that is something I'll wear. Plus, I know if I send it back I'll regret it a week later and my size will never pop back up.

    1. At this point just watch for restock, from returns. Probably had lots of pre-orders. If you have a VPS they can put you on their looking to find list. Good luck! :D

    2. Have to say that this artificial scarcity from pre-orders is really aggravating. I miss the old days of being able to shop in peace, without feeling like I was playing a video game and the clock is running out!

    3. I agree. Sometimes I don't like to buy until the weather is such I can actually wear the item. I am particularly aggravated about the scarcity of some of shoes this season.
