This is the weekly "Other JCrew-like Retailers" post (similar to the "Off On A Tangent" posts), where we can share our finds from other retailers that have offerings similar to J.Crew (like Anthropologie, LE Canvas, Gap, BR, Talbots, Ann Taylor, and the like.)

If you have recently encountered items that are similar to J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including experiences with certain merchandise pieces, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  1. I got two things in the mail from LL Bean yesterday.
    flannel shirt in navy tartan

I'm a 6 or 8 in JC and got this in a size small. Material is suuuuper soft and warm and I like the fit - it's perfect in the shoulders and the length is good for peeking out under the bottom of a sweatshirt. Sleeves are a touch short but I'm 5'10" and have long arms. I got this since I missed out on all the cute plaids JC has this season. This morning I even saw 2 I wanted on popback at JC and they were gone from my cart before I could check out! Pic of the Bean shirt on my instagram, navybluecardigan

    Also from Bean, the
pro stretch jacket in bright clover

I LOVE this green color and looks so great layered under my navy winter coat. Got this in a small it fit is great and sleeves are even long enough.
I can not believe I have ordered from Bean twice this year! I never buy from them and am kind of worried I'm turning into my mom. Seriously, I was worried I was "giving up" when I bought a flannel shirt from LL Bean. I wore it yesterday though with skinny jeans and a tall pair of brown boots, looked very current :D

  2. Does anyone have experience with Club Monaco items? I happened to pass their store and went inside for the first time to browse and although I don't need another sweater ever, I tried a cashmere sweater and "liked" until I saw the price tag $$$! (Granted, it was a cashmere sweater) Ha! Can anyone comment on their quality, online ordering experience, do they ever have good sales?
I am completely new to this brand. Once in awhile I've seen JCAs wear their item or say that CM rather than JC got their money this weekend :). TIA!
