This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopping
by a J.Crew store this weekend to see
what's available (if
anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in
person, maybe you might be
willing to share that with us in this
post. In particular, if you could
share with us a few of the
noteworthy items that are available, at
what prices, and potential sizes
the store is carrying (as well
as the store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also,
please let us know if your local store is
carrying an additional percent
off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S.
I noticed that many of
you have already been reporting sale
items (and in which stores) in
other posts which by the way "thank
you!" :) I really appreciate how
helpful we are for each other!
But ... but ... I spent all my money at the J. Crew factory, because of the 20 percent discount you blogged about. I have nothing left! Wanh! ;-)

DeletePins are slowly rolling out on Pinterest, you would think that the promise of an East Coast storm might make it seem like a good idea to roll them out early so folks can browse this weekend (as long as we still have power)
ReplyDeleteI wish they'd at least update the online sale section. I won't be going in to the store this weekend. Maybe next week for new arrivals.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteIf VA gets hit with the snowstorm, they may not be processing many/any returns this weekend, so the sale section may stay status quo...
DeleteGood point about the storm - I think we usually see the sale section explode when the new arrivals roll out, but I wonder if there will be a delay.
DeleteIt's already been 2 days without any significant update to sale, though. There's no reason they wouldn't be processing returns in the days before the storm. Wouldn't it be nice if they'd bump up the new arrivals online (to amuse me!)? They wouldn't do that though, unfortunately!
DeleteI know the clearance store in both Arden and Lynchburg are shut down for the next three days and it will probably mean that the distribution will be as well at least in Arden since it is right next store. That is the location that ships out to the stores, not customers. It may delay the roll out next week, I guess we will see. Asheville is getting pounded I think. Lynchburg ships to customers so I bet they will be impacted as well. Hunker down with some hot chocolate and everyone stay safe and warm. We are getting tons of rain that will turn to snow tonight.
DeleteStay warm and safe, mid-Atlantic and Northeast JCA's!
ReplyDeleteYes, ditto that. Won't tell you it is going to be in the 50s in Denver.
DeleteI posted a picture of a new color in the Biella Loafer and a new Sloane d'Orsay flat on my IG (jcrewismyfavstore) moments ago. Both will be available online Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rynetta. They are gorgeous. Glad you made it home safe from your adventure!
DeleteDitto, what @silver_lining said. Hope everyone affected by the storm stays safe and warm.
maryeb: my pleasure!!!! I am too! As always, my amazing hubby came to the rescue! Be safe, peeps!
Delete*Sloan
DeleteArgh I love those black embellished Sloans!! Are they suede? I love them in the solid suede. Do they fit like the solid suede ones, do you know? Maybe I need these one of these days!
Deletecate: they are FAB! They are suede. And, they fit TTS like the other Sloan flats! HTH!
DeleteThanks Rynetta! From the looks of your instagram, you may have to wait a while to wear them ;)
DeleteI need those Sloans!
DeleteDmitri: they are really FAB!!!!
DeleteA little OT but I did order a pair of Madewell flea market flare overalls and they are really cute. I will need to hem just a bit I really like them. They are $49.99 less either 30% or 40% off depending on where you get them so a good deal. The denim is really substantial and I like the flare. BTW, won't be going to the store because I think it will be closed due to weather.
ReplyDeleteI've been considering these overalls because they are so cute in the pics. Did you get them in your normal size?

ReplyDeleteLooking to sell this - http://bit.ly/1ZSiHqP - if anyone wants. I got one and my friend got me one. Size is XL. Both brand new with tags. Color says Dark Oak, but it is a wonderful golden peach. Navy lining inside. Gorgeous soft fur trim.
ReplyDeleteI tried this too and agree it is a great coat! Agree about the color too, no idea what they mean by dark oak, it's a very pretty shade of peach.
DeleteInstead of will you visit j.crew this weekend--what are you wearing to ride out the blizzard? ha! I just got the order I placed during the start of the newest promo--I guess they wanted it delivered before the snow--so now i'm lounging in fair isle leggings (which for being 5'1 aren't too long--but they kind of bag out on my lower leg....owell), Silk cami and the open cardigan sweater....then I'll be out in non j.crew clothes when it comes time to shovel out ;)
ReplyDeleteOT, but if anyone needs something from BR or Gap, Ebates has 18% cash back. If you're being affected by the weather, you can shop, stay safe & warm.
ReplyDeleteQuick reviews as promised --
ReplyDelete1) Military trench. I really like this though concur with others that I wish it had a lining. It's a nice neutral dark olive (darker than it looks in the pictures) and a good weight for spring/early fall.
2) Ava ballet flats -- these are definitely pink, and real pink (salmon, not ballet). Comfy right out of the box, though I'll have to watch for rubbing from the trim. There were plenty of the black/white version at the downtown SF store earlier this week, on clearance. HTH!
Ah, thanks for those review, Caille, was most curious about the pink color of those flats. Enjoy your coat! It looks so stylish and I think you got it at the price that it should have been, especially without lining.
DeleteThe Collection turtleneck finally went on sale (maybe they listened to me, I left a message on their IG the other day when they featured it to just put it on sale already!) so I called my store to see if they had a XXS and I run to get it ($99 in store but it isn't on sale so you have to ask for a price match and then they apply the 50% off). This one isn't "cozy" because the wave is rather loose as if your grandma knitted it (in fact it was originally called "handmade") so it doesn't stop the air from going through but it is still a great sweater (just wear a layer underneath).
ReplyDeleteI forgot: size down. Pic on my IG

ReplyDeleteI am definitely going this weekend! :)
I won't be going this weekend, but I did stop by this past Thursday and bought my first Perfect long-sleeve t-shirt (in the Deep Jade colour) from the final sale section, as I need more solid basics (preferably 100% cotton). I definitely like it much more than the Painter tees, especially in terms of the thickness! Otherwise, I'm waiting for the new roll-out, or for some shirts I've been eyeing to go on sale.
ReplyDeleteA few more items went on sale this morning and I bit since they won't be final sale until tomorrow. Picked up the collection leather leggings. At $209 w/ a $50 gift card to use I figured I would give them a try. Also got some pj's and waffle leggings for lounging. Already a decent amount of snow here. Everyone stay safe and enjoy the snow day!
ReplyDeleteNo trip to the store for me, although I have been stalking the website daily for a couple of items I'd love to catch on popback. Really wish they would offering free shipping on all orders like Madewell does. I really think it would help them get rid of a lot of the sale section. I know I am much more willing to place an order if I don't have to pay for shipping.
ReplyDeleteOT: UNIQLO & Ines de la Fressange recently launched their Spring/Summer 2016 Collection, and there is a lot to love. For you ladies who prefer natural fibers, the line includes a lot of pieces made from 100% cotton, as well as numerous cotton/cashmere blends. With reasonable price points, natural fabrics, and beautiful attention to detail, the line definitely warrants having a look-see. I've shared more details, as well as what I'm loving in this post.
Thanks Melissa!! I didn't know they were doing a spring/summer IDLF collection! I placed my first ever Uniqlo order just before Christmas -- (nothing for me, just 2 merino v neck sweaters for my husband and a zip up fleece for my son) and I was *really* pleasantly surprised at the quality. Will have to try some of those new IDLF pieces.
DeleteYou're welcome, Julie! I have a lot of items from the collection on my wishlist right now, although some are already sold out in my size, so I'm hoping they will restock soon. Let me know what you think if you end up ordering any of the IDLF items. :)
DeleteI wish I could go but no chance. Hopefully after all the snow there will be lots of good popbacks built up for next week! It would be nice if that extra 50% promo would come back too or maybe free shipping:)
ReplyDeleteGoing for online returns; really disappointed in the Collection Snakeskin D'orsay flats. The color is so off from the website. On a good note, I was able to order the pleated midi skirt in metallic (C9137). Saw it on Ema's IG and I agree that it's the Gucci skirt. In fact, received a net-a-porter email today featuring the Gucci version as part of its Spring roll out. JC's version for $35 will work nicely. Skirt is sold out online, but called CS & they were able to order it for me from the warehouse and they waived the shipping.
ReplyDeleteThe look is very similar, but the length is not. It just hit me at my knee which is not midi. I needed about 6 extra inches of length for it to work and not just look like a cute knee length skirt. On Alexa Chung it hits her about 6 inches above her ankle (more or less, just guessing). I loved it but returned (ordered before it was final sale) but thought if it worked it would be a cool wardrobe piece because I have nothing similar.
DeleteThat said, it's a great skirt at a great price and I'm bummed it didn't work for me. I even considered sizing up several sizes so it would sit at my hips and not waist.
DeleteI agree that the length could be better, I also wished it was several inches longer. There is quite a bit of hem to let down but I am afraid to ruin it because of the pleats and the fabric...
DeleteEma & Suz Has, yes, totally agree about the length. I don't have it yet, so this is pure speculation on my part. "In theory" I'm ok with the length because I'm wearing it for spring & summer. I'm just over 5'8" and I expect this will hit right at my knees if it's similar to JC midis I bought last spr/sum. If so, that would be a good outcome. The skirt is lined, and that coupled with the additional length, could reduce its versatility for the warmer weather that always comes to Texas. Hoping to wear with green peep toe snakeskin mules with a gold heel that I bought from Gucci years ago with a green silk cami. I can also see wearing this with stripes; hope JC has a repeat at some point in spr/sum of the silk stripe Carrie In navy/white. Also loving the black ensemble on netaporter that I'd wear with heels. Will see how this works out once the skirt arrives.
DeleteSpeaking of stripes, bought the cutest merino wool cardigan in navy/white; it was 30% off & per SA is a part of the new roll out. Looking forward to the 25th.
I could be wrong but I don't remember it being lined. The underside is white but I don't think it's separate from the metallic, just the back side.
DeleteI look forward to your review once you receive it and your outfits sound great!
Suz Has that's from the online description & we know how "accurate" those can be. So, I'll be sure to let ya know!
DeleteI probably would have done some online sale shopping this weekend, but they are letting the sale section dwindle down and there is nothing I'm interested in.
ReplyDeleteJ.Crew should have taken advantage of the snow storm, and updated their sale section or launched their February collection last Tuesday instead of the 26th.
DeleteAgree!
DeleteAgree. Or at least offer free shipping on any order for the weekend...
DeleteWon't be going to a store. I popped on the website though and thought I should announce that the Colette leopard pumps are on sale. Regular price $378, marked down two whole dollars to $376. Copywriter from Space's cube neighbor Price Adjuster from Space was sleeping on the job.
ReplyDeleteWhat a deal! Price Adjuster from Space must be working hard on the Pocket Datebook too!
DeleteI posted pictures of a new Sloan "jeweled" d'Orsay flat and a new color in the Biella Tassel Loafer on my IG yesterday. Here is a link to the pictures on my blog if you're not on IG: Sneak Peek: J. Crew New Arrivals Shoes Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of glats, I am very excited that the Kikis are back in the new catalog. I kicked myself for not buying more (I have the Moroccan red) and I was afraid they would be discontinued.
DeleteBut the catalog features several new colors and the classic black and pink/nude (called pagoda peach, I believe)... Price is $148
I was talking about flats, not glats...
DeleteEma: the colors look great! I never tried the Kiki, but I will!
DeleteEma, excited with you about the new Kikis, as noted below!
DeleteInterestingly, all of the new spring colours for the Kiki were available on the website a couple of weeks ago, all in the sale section and all marked Final Sale. I got the 'electric red' for 50% off the sale price. Now they have disappeared entirely and are showing up on the Pinterest feed for February. Wonder if someone made a big mistake...?
DeleteOK, I'm NOT CRAZY!!! I thought I saw that! That red was like a coral color, right?
DeleteSuz Has - lol! No, you're not crazy! Looks coral in the photo, Suz - but irl it is a truly bright almost neon red. Now wishing I had got the hyacinth blue as well! They were there, definitely, for a couple of days. *poof*
DeleteI have the Kiki in mirror metallic silver and nude (sand? Beige? Not sure) with a gold toe. Somehow I find the higher vamp less flattering on my foot. Although I got sort of atypical colors for myself, I still haven't worn them as much as I'd like. That said, they are beautiful, well made and very comfortable. I hope the new ones are as nice!
ReplyDeleteKikis are the only Crew flat I wear, they are just so perfectly comfortable with the slight heel. Can literally walk for miles in them (I have). The new cap-toe versions are cute but not sure what the visual effect of that would be on the foot, perhaps your sense that it is less flattering could be more to do with the colour blocking than the vamp? I will admit to owning 7 pairs of the solid-colour Kikis, I love them that much...*eyeroll*
DeleteMy silver ones are solid. I just find the higher vamp a little less flattering to my foot shape, but I tend to prefer a ballet flat (visually) that shoes more skin. I admit, it doesn't make them more comfortable!
DeleteI actually like them because of the higher vamp, they are very close in shape to the Chanel ones. Also I have somewhat wide-boned (if skinny) feet and most flats hits my bone in an uncomfortable way (could never wear the Ceces). In any case they new colors are solid, not cap-toe...
DeleteThey remind me of the Chanel ones! I was actually thinking of bringing my gold toe ones to a shoemaker to see if they could make the toe black, I think I'd wear them more like that.
DeleteEma, I totally agree with you on the Kiki fit! I have the same problem with where the vamp of most ballet flats hits, the Kikis are perfect for anyone with a wider front foot. Thus my enormous collection of them - I too was worried that they might be discontinued and my life would be ruined lol. The hyacinth blue are now on my radar!
DeleteYes, I have the same problem with the Cece's and other ballet flats. Not only is it uncomfortable where the shoes hit the bones in my foot, but it makes my feet look even wider. I have purchased a lot of loafers and oxfords lately and may have to try the Kiki flat.
DeleteAlso, more of the new rollout has been posted on Pinterest. I have to say I really do like the pull on wide leg cropped pant. It's shown in a sort of reddish pink with a denim jacket. The pants are sort of wide with a flared cropped cuffed hem. There is also another wash in the Rayner jean which I can't see enough of to judge. Looks almost like a dark chambray with no distressing.
ReplyDeleteIt is the side-zip rayner in norwood wash e7406
DeleteDid you see it in person, or a better pic? The Pinterest pic doesn't show it very well!
DeleteI sent you a DM on IG with a better pic!
DeleteIf u need any other pics from the new catalog let me know
@inawonderland5
I hope the side-zip isn't making a major comeback, I could never wear them and they always seemed to leave a hip bulge where the zipper was sewn
DeleteSo cool! The Collection leather moto jacket in a grey color?!? Technically the navy one I bought is still within the 60 day return window. Decisions........
ReplyDeleteI could be wrong, it may not be grey, but an olive color...
DeleteIt's grey (color is called "ash")
DeleteThanks Ema!
DeleteI for one am excited by what I'm seeing, with the new rollouts. Not sure if all the colors work for me, but I love some of the new shapes, and I love that old familiar stuff fits in with it.
ReplyDeleteI am excited as well as most of it looks old school J. Crew to me. Nothing too out there. Pleasantly surprised!
Deletesharing!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.vogue.com/fashion-shows/spring-2016-ready-to-wear/j-crew/slideshow/collection#1
Unfortunately the link doesn't et me scroll past 1 of 25.
DeleteOT but Gigi's @ Sundance Film Festival!!! She met Spike Lee! You can follow her Utah adventure.

OT but I just posted a bunch of J Crew Collection, Retail, and Factory Capris on my sale blog at http://beachchicstylesale.blogspot.com/. Sizes 2, 4, and 6.
ReplyDeleteMiss seeing you around the community and your pretty outfits!
DeleteThanks Shopping Celle. I can't believe its been over a year since I last posted! My mother in law passed last January and I lost my mom in April so 2015 wasn't such a great year. Maybe I'll start posting again as I really miss it.
DeleteSo sorry to hear that 2015 was so rough for you and I hope that 2016 will be better. Many here have jumped onto instagram. I'm @shoppingcelle there.
DeleteMore shoe pics have been posted on Pinterest, under JCrew February style guide. So many pretty patterns. I'm not a fan of a lot of the sherbet and pastel colors but the stripes and fun florals are great accents to a more neutral wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteLoving the shoes too!
DeleteCan anyone chime in with sizing on the Sloan flats? I wear an 8 in gemma flats and wondering if they fit the same.
Just dug my car out of over 2 feet of snow. I need a reward in the form of pretty shoes. ;)
@Miss JR
DeleteThe sloans (IMO) fits TTS, if not a touch big. I'm a true 6.5 and I have 2 pairs of the sloans in that size. Fits great. There's no pinching or rubbing. Though the foot bed is a bit thin, it's not a deal breaker. Comfy right out of the box!
The Gemma flats didn't work for my feet at all somehow, but I'm hoping the Sloan will.
DeleteI took the same size in both the Sloan and Gemma flats.
DeleteI am a fan of both shoes - I was surprised at how comfortable the Gemmas are - have walked a lot in them and no rubbing right out of the box. Same with the Sloans. Glad you're dug out - you should definitely splurge on some shoes!!
I've never really been into super colorful or "cute" shoes so these are an easy pass for me.
DeleteChecked out the Pintrest, Spring looks like Spring. I can go into fashion hibernation now before my system is too traumatized by the pastels.
ReplyDeleteI hope all of the east coat JCAs stayed safe and toasty warm this weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't visit a J.Crew store, but since our weather has been mild as of late, I took advantage of the warmer temps to wear my J.Crew Collection Tweed Topcoat to church yesterday. I purchased the coat a few years ago, and it has become a favorite item in my wardrobe. More outfit details and a pic in this post.
