This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopping
by a J.Crew store this weekend to see
what's available (if
anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in
person, maybe you might be
willing to share that with us in this
post. In particular, if you could
share with us a few of the
noteworthy items that are available, at
what prices, and potential sizes
the store is carrying (as well
as the store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also,
please let us know if your local store is
carrying an additional percent
off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S.
I noticed that many of
you have already been reporting sale
items (and in which stores) in
other posts which by the way "thank
you!" :) I really appreciate how
helpful we are for each other!
The 2015 Pocket Datebook is still $22.99, plus 50% off today. Someone isn't paying attention, or drank too much of their own 'Crewlade last night! The 2016 one is only $1 more, after discount ;)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I remember seeing that Dec 31st and I was like WTF? Even if you overnighted it you wouldn't get it in enough time.
DeleteNow it's the J Crew "heirloom" 2015 Pocket Datebook, certainly worth your $11 investment??
ReplyDeleteHelp! I have a bright red, belted, double breasted wool jacket that I purchased years ago. It's a variation on a pea coat with a wider collar and 3/4 almost belled sleeve. I believe it was from 2006.a wardrobe staple and my absolute favorite Winter coat. My dry cleaner destroyed it, shrinking it to almost half the size. He denies any wrong doing but I desperately need to replace this piece. Any idea which style this is? The inner tag is completely faded, no style or season to be found. I'm devastated! Please help!!!

DeleteHi conscious cupcake - it's the wool pique Sadie coat from Fall 2005. I've seen them on eBay before so you may want to search there for a style number - try searching "jcrew peacoat" or "jcrew double breasted" - I don't know if anybody would know the style name unless they were a JCA. Good luck!
Deletewhat size are you looking for, I think i might have this jacket.
Deletei just checked, mine is 95681 from 08. it's called the Tuesday Trench. It's wool serge, double breasted but has a straight sleeve, so not what you are looking for.
DeleteWow silver lining - you're GOOD!
Deletesomehow, this post got me looking up old photos 0- I have discovered I have about 70% of the notable pieces from the Fall 2010 lookbook. I've even sold a couple of them off on eBay/JCA exchange, but have more! Good lord. The Crewlade. But I still love each one of them and the materials are still so awesome and usable.
DeleteMaqsad (reflecting...)
Dry cleaners. Drives me nuts. As far as they are concerned, they do no wrong.

DeleteI am hoping for a good promo next week so I can put my gift cards to good use! Any thoughts on what's coming? Sale should surely go to 50% off?
ReplyDeleteSpring roll outs should be coming up and I am always excited for a new season. Can't stand to look at one more excursion vest or plaid shirt. I'm over hoping for any significant changes in quality, but I am hoping for some feminine styles, great J. crew prints, and flattering proportions!
I am guessing final sale will rear its ugly head and go to 50% on the stuff that has been 40% off forever. I can't wait for the current promo to end on Jan 6th. I am hopeful some full price items I have been stalking will be reduced by at least 30-40%. You never know with J Crew, you just have to wait and see!
DeleteDid anyone receive a thank you email from Mickey? I'm sure it went out to everyone....(automated)
ReplyDeleteYes, I got it. Made me a laugh a little over the 'very best in design, quality and service'. Service I agree with the other two not so much.
DeleteI received it as well. Had to laugh, really. I responded back about their quality issues, fiber content, and the shoes.
DeleteI received two.
Deleteoh, well.
Yeah. Not terribly personal or impressive...
DeleteYep.
DeleteI was upset I didn't get it :D, then I just realized I unsubscribed from ALL J crew emails about a month ago. I check the site so much each day I didn't need to get news from them about sales and I get so much good info here at JCA.
DeleteI thought it was a nice note. Thank you Mickey & J.Crew! Inspite of all the issues, it does a few things beautifully.
DeleteYep, got one too. Liked it even if not very personal
DeleteI was over at Madewell yesterday, and they had early spring items already at the store. A silk collarless blouse (in a peasant style) in color black with ivory flowers, which I thought is cute. The print is also used as a skirt and a cap sleeve dress. They also had two different styles of denim dresses, one was a shift and the other belted, both long sleeve...
ReplyDeleteSounds promising!! I can't wait to see them.
DeleteJust got two items from Madewell that i love! The blackwatch shirt in xxs (size down) and the lace shirt that is in the sale section (TTS)
DeleteIn case anybody is interested in the (sold out) Abstract Fair Isle Cardigan e2984 in a xxs,i am returning one today to my store : 770-971-6765
ReplyDeleteSomeone may have already answered this in another post, but when is next roll out?
ReplyDeleteit looks like the third week of Jan. I know "Painful"
DeleteYikes. The store is already so sparse and empty. By the third week of January, the sales associates will probably have enough open space to play field hockey with brooms.
DeleteFrom past January roll-outs, it always has been small. So don't count on the next one a lot of merchandise. Then again, I could be wrong.
DeleteBig roll out is the third week of january and a smaller one this week on wednesday.
DeleteHTH
Maybe it's more resort type wear, which would have been wearable the last week of Dec but now it's cold again on the East Coast, how weird has the weather been!
DeleteOh goodness! That is far away. Thanks for the responses!
DeleteNothing exciting. I returned the Weekend Skinny Pant and ordered the Demylee Jason Pant. Since JCrew won't do a proper sale I'm not bothering, it's the VS semi-annual sale and lingerie/work out gear/lounge wear is my first love anyway.
ReplyDeleteDidn't know where else to post - cleaning out my closet on ebay with some Crew items - seller- Omega0574.
ReplyDeleteI really wanted to buy the pretty striped bow-back tee, but it is suddenly all sold out. :( Last I checked, most of the sizes were in stock and didn't say "only a few left" so I'm not sure what happened. Maybe a big blogger wore it or something. I'm really bummed about it and will hope for pop-backs!
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, I stopped in at a J.Crew Factory near me and there was SO little merchandise. They had nothing I was looking for, though I did try on the Anya flats for sizing. I was thinking about purchasing them in gold. There's an online exclusive dress I was hoping to find in store since that's happened before, but I didn't see it. (The grey tank dress—has anyone reviewed it?)
It's most likely still there. Check back tomorrow. They tend to do that with things that are being stocked from stores. I suspect it has to do with when they are able to sync inventory systems. I used to think they were just being strategic about sales, but it didn't line up.
DeleteI agree with Jessica, check back later or even call a store. I saw a couple of things in a store yesterday that are currently sold out online (one item not even marked down yet but is online). Good luck!
DeleteWhen an entire size run in something disappears at once, you can be pretty sure it will be back online soon. I've seen it happen, but not sure why it happens.
DeleteI've seen products with a full selection of sizes suddenly disappear too. Then they are all back in a day to a week.
DeleteThe Boston Copley store had a ton left on Friday, you should try calling them or email Lauren.kent@jcrew.com (she's my VPS!).
DeleteThank you guys! I checked this morning and my usual size in the tee was available, so I placed an order. We'll see if I need to size up or not. I'll definitely check my local store when I get home and call Boston if they don't have any! (I'm so close to Boston right now yet can't get to the store...it's like torture!) ;)
DeleteI'm probably not going in to the store this weekend, but I caught a popback of the saddle sweater in the turquoise color. I hope it ships.
ReplyDeleteWhen do the stores do inventory, does anyone know?
this is OFF topic (Alexis, pls delete if not OK to post here) --I just signed up for the Rewards Card. What's the time frame for racking up $500? (IE is it 3 months or one billing cycle?) And, is this worth it? Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI use Ebates and get cash back, so I'm not sure if a CC is worth the hassel.
DeleteThe time frame for $500 is quarterly ( based on a calendar year). If you don't get $500 in a quarter it rolls over into the next so you don't lose it. The Rewards are usually mailed out or available ( sometimes the stores get a list and they can pull up your info) about 2-3 weeks after the end of a quarter. This is not always consistent, however...
DeleteYou can continue to use ebates with the cc, it's an even better deal when there's an extra 10% on a promo for cardholders, say, 30% off, but cardholders get 40% off...
DeleteOk thanks, I guess I will continue to use both!
DeleteCan anyone tell me about the fit of the Collection Painterly Floral dress? I got one at a pretty good price on pop-back but it has not arrived yet. I'm concerned that I needed to size up (had it been available) though. Any feeckback about fit, etc etc and thoughts about it, please do let me know. Also, I think it came out in the fall, but is it a dress I might be able to wear into spring and summer? Thanks for any help JCAs! :-)
