Take an Additional 20% Off Sale at Madewell!

"Thanks!" to many of you, who let us know about the following news & promotion this morning.

Madewell is offering customers to take an additional 20% off sale with promo code META20. This offer expires January 13, 2016. The fine print includes:
Offer valid on the purchase of sale items marked "extra 20% off with code META20" at madewell.com from January 5, 2016, 12:01am ET through January 13, 2016, 11:59pm ET. Offer not valid in Madewell stores or on phone orders. Offer cannot be applied to previous purchases and cannot be redeemed for cash or used in combination with any other offer. To redeem, enter code META20 in the promo code box at checkout. Limit one promotional code per order. Terms of offer are subject to change.
Meh. Yesterday's promotion was an additional 40% off sale. According to my impressive math skills, 40% > 20%, thus this promotion is a downgrade. But you know what, 20% > 0% off, so something is something. ;)

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? What item are you hoping to pick up? Please share!

  2. Glad I had bought a few items in store and online at 40%, I thought it would be going to 50% not the other way.

  3. New arrivals, though. I'm seeing some things I like, including the denim trench dress and the leopard loafers.

    1. Ditto, to the denim trench dress & loafers.
Also loving the silk stencil floral blouse.
The Calligraphy silk blouse looks interesting, not sure about the shape of the sleeves.
Love the Cadiz Plaid, but the shape of the Academie shirt looks so over-sized and tent-like.

    2. YES! I like your picks, Blakemdjohns. Also to add, the silk memory blouse (w/ the flowers).

I've seen the belted denim trench dress and silk memory blouse in store. Felt the fabric, but didn't try. I'm all about substance, and the quality is there. Denim trench is not the flimsy chambray...it's a thick denim. Due to my annoying 36 chest size, I have to size up to a 6 to try.

It's good that there are reviews on the leopard loafers. Might need to order a 5..since it runs large. I'm kind of digging leopard for early spring...It looks good w/ the belted denim dress..

    3. Okay...I just ordered the Denim Belted Trench and the Leopard loafers. I had to act fast, my shoe size always sell out first.

..And it looks like the Belted Trench is selling out fast as well. Better act fast, ladies!

    4. It looks like Alexa Chung, that is why it's selling fast. I have no idea what size to order. Ack! I have a small chest width / shoulders / rib cage, but larger cup size. I wish we had a store nearby.

    5. @Blake - I always thought you lived in NYC. Yea, it looks very Alexa.

I emailed CS for the measurements, even after I had placed my order. I'll post it here as soon as I get a response.

    6. I'd love to know what you think about the Trench and the loafers. Although, I'd go with the English Saddle. I wonder if they will have the same issue with being too big, given that they are leather and not calf hair, like the leopard ones.

    7. I saw the leopard loafers in store but didn't try them on. I am very tempted, they look nice, and seem like very good quality (better than usual for Madewell, IMO).

  4. Glad all the stuff I got at 40% off will finally be here this week. I really can't believe that they went back to 20% off. Seems sort of crazy to me. I will say that the buffalo check vest is $49.99 in store versus $69.99 online. It shows that some sizes are sold out but they have sizes in store if you just call around. Not sure if the stores went to 20% off but they might still be at 40% off. I hope I will like the fit of the vest as the reviews were sort of mixed but for $29.99 I thought I would take a chance.

  5. A lone folkchord keyhole tee popped back in my size this morning, so even with the lesser % off I pounced. I do love the fact that Madewell always has free shipping -- that makes it easier (too easy sometimes!) to pick up goodies like that.

  9. Here are measurements from my VPS for the Denim Trench Dress sizes 0, 2, & 4. They are all in inches and each size goes up anywhere from .25 inch to 1 inch, so it should be fairly easy to figure out the measurements for the additional sizes.

Center Front Length 40.25 40.5 40.75 (from HPS to Hem)
    Across Shoulder 15 15.25 15.5

    Waist Circumference 27 28 29
    Hip Circumference 39 40 41

  10. Finally another markdown on the Sloan jumpsuit - plus the flea market flare corduroys (I swore no more pants this year but I have them in brown and they are so flattering I could not resist the blue) and the flannel Sunday shirt in stripe finally went on sale. That denim trench looks amazing but my cheapskate wait for dale self will probably miss out.
