Wrap It All Up: J.Crew's Holiday Sale Ends Today

Today is the last day that J.Crew is offering an additional 30% off SITEWIDE plus free shipping (no min!), for J.Crew customers with promo code WISHLIST online.

However, they may still be running this promotion in brick and mortar locations. (According to a few JCAs, this will be running until Christmas in stores. However, J.Crew has been known to change their minds when it comes to promotional terms.)

I had been pretty good resisting all the promotions J.Crew threw our way the past few weeks. But this current promotion reeled me in. Frankly, it is one of the best offers I have seen (30% off anything, free shipping with no minimum, AND no final sale). This week, the UPS man will be hating on me! ;)

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? If so, what items are you planning to get? Please share! :)

  2. Alexis, I agree that this has been one of the best offers as of late with the 30% off, free shipping, and no final sale. I haven't purchased anything for myself with the promo as of yet, but I am still contemplating a couple of things. I'll be going to the B&M at some point this week, and will have a look there, as well.

It would be nice if J.Crew would extend the extra 30% off until Christmas Eve like the stores are reportedly doing, but if history repeats itself they will bring back final sale online instead. Not a nice thing to do just before Christmas, but it is possible that they will.

    2. Sorry - totally know that but needed to type something to get Google to log me back in, then spaced out and typed the verification code before I realized what I was doing :-)

    3. Cate - Oh cool and no apology necessary. You're a JCA pro. I should've figured you know, but wanted to share just in case. :)

    4. The same thing always happen to me so I have to write sub all the time even though it's theoretically unnecessary!

  4. I agree, this is one of the best promo ever, especially for those who are popback stalking ;-). I am pretty much done but I might order the mirror tee to try before the end of the promo. Has anyone received thid one? It looks as boxy as the necklace tee, I am not sure if I should size down or not. TIA!

  5. Based on Life As A Cat's review and the fact that it's non-final sale, I snatched the only Contrast Knit Blazer left in my size early Sunday morning.

I figured final sale will commence right after Christmas, so it's time to act in case this becomes a regrettable purchase.

  6. Ladies, I believe Fabulous Florida Mommy, Pansy, and other JCAs are correct in that Final Sale is just around the corner. Which is one of the main reasons I went crazy overboard shopping on this promotion. It is good to know I am getting items for a great price *with* the option to return if it does not work out.

And like Ema mentioned, the popbacks were great- making shopping even more enticing! :)

  7. P.S. Out of curiosity, did the Sale section ever update this morning? The past few mornings, the Sale consistently updated, but I did not see that today. Wasn't sure if I missed it...

    1. Alexis: The sale section did update this morning, but it was a small one, around 100 items or so for the women.

  8. So I put on the sequin polka dot tee I bought during a final sale a few weeks ago...and there was a large area on the front where a clump of sequins had fallen off. And as I was putting it on, I put my arms at my sides, lifted my arms away from my sides, and an entire string of sequins snagged. Do you think I could return or exchange for store credit? I would say it was defective...

    1. Lisa: I would take the tee back, explain what happened, and tell them you would like a refund.

  9. I grabbed a couple of items since they don't have them in the stores to try on and would rather not get stuck with them when final sale returns.

  10. I got a few things as Christmas gifts and got a Jules dress and Tweed Corkscrew skirt for myself as well as a tee. It is nice to have the return option, I know Final Sale is around the corner. I wouldn't mind final sale if the items were really deeply discounted but just taking 10-20% off the retail price is not a substantial discount enough to warrant no returns. On the plus side, JCrew seems to be shipping quickly, orders I placed last night got confirmations this morning

  11. I ordered a few items to try before final sale resumes too, including the shallow sea Edie, Stovepipe trouser and herringbone Schoolboy jacket.

Over the past week, I've posted reviews of items from the sale section on my blog here.

  12. I am totally shopped out, but I did receive two surprises from J. Crew and Madewell. Madewell sent me one notebook, and J. Crew sent me three notebooks in a box. :) I guess they are nice gestures.

  13. Just wondering: how can you tell there are updates to the sale section? Is there an easy way?

    1. The way I see is I click Sale, then Women, and it lists the number of items at the top of the page (before you click on any sub-categories). If the number is 1000+, there was probably a recent update. On days when there was an update, it still drops down to the 800s (give or take) after a while.

  14. Visited one of my other B&Ms today. Cherry Creek, Colorado. (303-322-7020). They had the Hothouse Floral blouse in 0,2 and 4 - $109.99 W/O the 30% off. I did ask twice and there is no Final Sale on these items. I did purchase Curved Link Bracelet (48091) for $42, they had others, plus the Heart Bracelet (47884) if anyone is looking for it. Plus they sell cashmere and had lots on sale. HTH.

  15. I hate to see this promo go! There's a pair of pjs I may bite on, although I know that all pjs tend to get marked down immediately after Christmas.

    1. Just to let you know the vintage pj sets don't get marked down do this a good promo to pick up that set if you are eyeing it. I have 2 pairs!

  16. Mirrored Floral Tee (some were asking about it): It's TTS, color is listed as ivory (which is same color listed for the signature tee) but I don't think it has much yellow to it. It isn't white, but it leans that direction. It's thin but cute. It is short, but has extra fabric in the hem (as someone here mentioned), so I suppose it could be made a bit longer, but I wouldn't bother for a t-shirt. I'll try to hang this dry. The blue is very pretty.

  17. Does anyone have comments on any of the pajama pants? I love that I can order petite length…but have no clue is J.Crew’s pj pants are worth the money. I’m already getting the vintage set…but would like the throw in some pants to my order…:)

    1. I love the pajamas pants! I have several flannel and dreamy cotton ones! They do run big though, especially the flannel ones. I have always bought them on sale/promo or received them as a gift.

    2. Thank you so much, especially letting me know they run big.

  18. I bought a small something almost every day! I kept remembering i could return it if it doesnt work! Im mad at myself i didnt get the red majesty peacoat :( i was finally going to order this morning but it was gone in my size. I got a white bikini last night. Anyone try the skirted bikini bottom? It seems pointless since the skirt doesnt appear to cover your bum at all... but i thought it may be flattering.

  19. Swung by SF Westfield to pick up the luxe silk shirt in the bright coral color, it came out to $70 after the additional 30 percent and before taxes. Very good deal. I can't remember who was asking about the heartthrob silk shirts but they had a bunch of them on the sale rack.

  20. Anyone have the Jules dress in Vibrant Flame? I'm so intrigued by it but I'm not sure if I should bite the bullet. What can I pair with it? Thanks!

    1. Momoberry - Click here to see some Polyvore inspirations. I really love the one w/the leopard scarf. I think tan or black would be good as footwear. I also think the buttoned-shirt-under would look good on you. Lots of options for prints in that case.

  21. An early review for those considering purchasing tonight - I got the sequin bird tee today. It's really cute and seems like the material is thicker than the tees have been of late (how could they be less thick?). I guess I'm still adjusting to my new size. I ordered the Medium and it's really big on me. I thought it fell to a good place on me - not as short as their "graphic T's" have been lately, but I am short-waisted, so keep that in mind. It was just too wide on me through the body and underarms. I'm debating exchanging it for a Small or returning it and hoping for more of a markdown. It's still about $53ish, which is ridick for a T-shirt. Decisions, decisions. Any thoughts about my chances of getting this at a lower markdown in the future?

    1. Jruby18, I just ordered this today. ITA that this price is way too much for a tee, embellished or not. I got it only because I'd certainly regret it if (and when) it gets sold out in my size. I absolutely love the way it looks (so me!) and I'm happy to hear that it seems to be of better quality than the graphic tees of late. This is one that I will definitely be doing the return/buyback dance with if it hits sale in my size.

  23. Anyone think there is a chance it will switch to 35% off tomorrow? Still a few days left for standard shipping. Either that or there will be more markdowns tomorrow...

Went in today to buy something with the promo going on and they said it was final sale. but my store also stopped doing education/student discount for final sale items also but i heard that jcrew is still doing it whether its final sale or not. i feel like my store doesnt know whats going on a lot of times...

    1. Hannah, the in-store promo is to be 30% off storewide with *no* final sale. The stores all receive the same blurb from corporate yet interpret it in their own way. It's very frustrating. Another JCA mentioned that she showed her store the online promo legalese which refers to the 30% off in-store & online & makes no mention of final sale. Good luck & don't let them stick you with that since it's not in effect right now.

    2. ugh gigiofca THANK YOU! this is exactly why i come to this blog and yours as well. I left without purchasing my item today bc they said it was final sale. i knew that i had read on here that it wasnt. i shouldve trusted my instincts :(

  26. The promo switched-up to 30% off and free shipping on orders of $100 with code CELEBRATE. Some more fun for a couple more days. Free shipping was awesome but this one isn't bad, considering that there is still no fs.

  27. OT: There are several colors of the Cambridge cable V-neck sweater marked to a promo-price of $26.50 this morning. It's more than likely a glitch and will go up in price in just a bit, so if you're considering one, you might want to order soon. Click here for the product page.
