Be Merry! 25% Off & Free Shipping at J.Crew

"Thanks!" to many of you, including D*ska (in this post), who let us know about the following promotions.

J.Crew is offering an additional 25% off SITEWIDE plus free shipping (no min!), for J.Crew customers with promo code MERRY. This offer expires today. The fine print includes:
*Offer valid on purchases made online at jcrew.com on December 10, 2012, from 12:01am ET through 11:59pm ET only. Offer not valid in stores, online at jcrewfactory.com or on phone orders. Offer cannot be applied to previous purchases or the purchase of gift cards and cannot be redeemed for cash or combined with any other promotion. To redeem, enter the code MERRY in the promo code box when checking out at jcrew.com. Discount is not valid on purchases of the following: baby merchandise; men's suiting, Barbour®, nanamica®, Corgi™, Mougin & Piquard™, Alden®, Crockett & Jones®, Chimala® and Wallace & Barnes merchandise; women's Authier®, Harley of Scotland, Goldsign®, Lulu Frost or Drake's® merchandise; crewcuts Barbour®, The Cambridge Satchel Company® or Thomas Mason® merchandise. Orders will be shipped via regular ground shipping (3 to 6 business days). Offer valid in the U.S. and Canada only. Terms of offer are subject to change.
Also, the Sale Section (click here to shop online) had a small update this morning for Women (960+ items) and Men (320+). Not as great as the past few days, but definitely worth checking out. :)

It's a great promo to pick up a quick item or two online with the discount and free shipping. Plus, shipping seems to be super fast with J.Crew lately (which is great for gift giving during the Holidays).

Random Fact: While on the topic of shipping... Today will be the busiest day in FedEx's history, as they expect to deliver 19 million packages! FedEx usually delivers about 9 million packages on an average day.

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? If so, what items are you planning to get? Please share! :)

  1. This is a nice promo, if a bit expected. I picked up the patent square buckle belt in warm ivory, I keep forgetting to add it to my orders as a ride-along so it was nice to have free shipping no minimum.

    1. Ema, I bought that in-store last week. It's nice. :)

    2. Let me guess: mint? I really wanted the ivory as I don't have any ivory-colored belt.

    3. No mint, sorry I didn't specify. I got the ivory. It's one color I don't have. Even though I don't usually tuck my tops in, I thought it would go nice w/the chiffon dot top in ivory if I keep it. If not, it's still a nice color that will go w/many other things.

    4. Good to know, I only saw the green in store but as you I was missing an ivory belt.

  2. I bit the bullet as well. But, I am scared that my tortise button sweatshirt is low inventory and I will receive the dreaded "Sorry, this item was so popular..." email!

  3. Although I can't help but stare longingly at the cashmere sweaters on sale, I'm sitting this one out. I still need to send that embellished sweatshirt back, too. I did end up using my 30% off + free ship for cardholders promo at the last minute last night to buy the Etta Patent Pumps in Apricot Mist, so I'm hoping that whole line about "heels for the girl who wears only flats" is accurate. I can't find a single pair of nude pumps in the local mall that don't look like stripper heels.

    1. Whitney, I have them, they are still a major heel! For me, just going out for dinner/drinks shoes, cab to venue.

    2. Thanks Tabitha! I was hoping that these would be good work shoes, but we'll see once they arrive. I can handle some height but I prefer a thicker heel for support, so I thought these would fit the bill.

    3. I returned those pumps b/c I could barely walk in them (had the cap toe ones). Now, I'm not a high heel girl but can deal with some kind of heel. These were totally uncomfortable to me. Also, found the toe box to be very tight/snug.

    4. I have the cap toe ones...wearing them right now actually. they are fairly comfortable. but then I don't really have much issues walking in heels though

  4. I've wondered about the Etta pumps too.....I like the chunky heel.

  5. Cashmere turtlenecks....the back in stock Fireball Chain...

Also lurched into the MadisonAve store where s manager took pity on me and sold me the Lulu Frost Wheat Sheaf off a mannequin.

The Tangerine Peel thing ass also there. Stunning piece in person-the online photo is terrible. I want you all to see the real thing...but I also don't as I want it to go on sale....

Otherwise, store stock looks low to me. Much more online.

Anyone think tomorrow morning will bring many pop backs, with staff checking returns today?

  6. Well, I was going to place an order but the mere fact that the Lodge Moccasin is only available in 5, 9 or 10 in EVERY COLOR strikes me as ridiculous.

  7. I was interested in getting the Wintress Puffer. Has anyone seen this in store?-I am not finding luck for an xs or petites. Looking for either black or navy. Please let me know if 1) there is a coat promo still to stack with 25% :) and 2) you've seen this coat in store.

    Thanks for any leads!!!!'

    1. You cannot stack promos because the coat promo is only going on in store right now, and the extra 25% off of your purchase is only going on online. You can either get one or the other.

However, I purchased a black wintress puffer at my store last night with 30% off outerwear + 15% off student discount. I'm thankful the puffers in size small fit me because I'm usually an XS or XXS at J. Crew -- and the XS wintress puffers seem to be disappearing.

Came out to $156, pretty good deal.

    2. You're right-it's online only :(.

    4. Thanks! I still feel like coats are going to go lower. This time last year I was buying them for $125.

    5. Got the Wintress last winter and wear it ALL the time. It's really a good coat. That said, I'm pretty sure I got it on sale. Wait till after Christmas.

  8. On one of the other promos I got the jeweled brooch, available online only. Review in this post.

  9. Picked up two Tippis this morning. Retro Jade for me and Swiss dot for my mum.

Also got a package from Fedex this morning which is rare for me and a little awkward. Only used to my USPS guy seeing me in this just rolled out of bed frenzy. Thank goodness, "Mr. Brown" comes in the afternoons. lol.

    1. I guess they're working overtime for the holidays. I was awoken from my Sunday afternoon nap by the USPS carrier who delivered my Fedex Smartpost box from JCrew factory --- yes, on a Sunday! Still scratching my head over that one.

  10. I pulled the trigger on the Metal Pearl Necklace. Unfortunately, the matching bracelet has already sold out...maybe it will return to stock in a few weeks. I am waiting for a price drop on the Tippi's in camel and navy as they are still full price and still not worth it with the 25 pecent off.

  11. The sale section was burgeoning in-store ... sequined dot tees, ivory tipped peacoats, bootcut cords for 29.99, accessories, everything. Still extra 30% so I picked up quite a few FS impulse items, but at least I could try them on and inspect them first. And the SA let me stack my teacher's discount too, which is very hit or miss for me now as to whether they will or not. It was a better bet for me than online today.

  12. Anyone looking for a silk tank to wear under the chiffon dot top, check out Talbots. Talbots has so many beautiful colors in their silk tank, including navy and several shades of greens. The store had 40% off, not sure about the web site, though. These tanks run big, IMO. A cami would probably look better under the chiffon dot top, but then bra straps would be a hassle. I returned my top because I couldn't find anything to wear under it, oh well. These are still really nice general purpose tanks to wear under something and the price is great with the 40% off.

  13. Hi! If anyone sees a Sterling skirt in black in a sz. 6 at their store, could you either put it on hold or let me know? Thx!!

  14. I ordered the Long Merino Cardigan in Byzantine Blue (no minimum $, hooray!).

  15. Finally, no minimum for shipping...YES...ordered a popback I have been stalking...now, fingers crossed it actually ships and is in decent shape.

  16. Ordered wonderland puffer and Blythe blouse in lilac. I love that they are not final sale. I have so much stuff from last year's final sale that I don't fit well

  17. Picked up a couple sweaters- the pear sweater and the buttoned boatneck...I couldn't help myself. Am still stinging on missing out on the sequined mini in pewter over at Garnet Hill, though. Found out that JC had one, too. Also sold out. Sigh.
