Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the HOLIDAY sale, or to see some new WINTER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

    1. I'm pretty sure I saw it at Washinton Square in Oregon this afternoon. They had several peplum tops, all in large and extra large, I can't remember which color was which size though.

    2. Polaris in Columbus Oh had a slew of them. I'd be shocked if they didn't have a L in there.

    3. I just was at the Robson St. store to check out the 50% 0ff deals. The sale section is bursting. Lots of cahsmere on sale. It was just staring to get busy when I left. I made out with the navy tipped hacking jacket ($75), striped tissue turtle neck ($10), black cashmere turtleneck ($75), Boy shirt in poppy plaid ($37, wool plaid scarf ($20) and a to die for blue/green collection cashmere turtleneck sweater -not sure what style as I don't remember seeing it online before- for ($140). All prices are in CDN and with the discount applied. Good luck!

  3. I went on Wednesday and had some in-store markdown prices for a few things that were cheaper than the website:
    Liberty Crystal Braid Bracelet, $9.99
    Colorblock Top in Stripe, $19.99
    Schoolboy Blazer, Wool, $89.99
    Crystal Bow Buckle Belt, $29.99
Lustre Lace Mockneck Tee, I *think* was $59.99 or $69.99. Runs big.

    3. This. Jcrew is awful when it comes to online shipping/service, even though they charge $8.95! Similar issues have plagued JCA's and I bet Mr. Drexler is seething that it made it into the NYT! Maybe they will finally get their act together?!?

    5. Their shipping errors may hardly be the "norm" but it occurs way too often.
Surprising, out of all the packages that I received this year, they only messed up two. Last year it was something like 5 or 6. I wonder if they are getting better or whether the misery of their shipping errors was just spread out more...

On another note the website SheFinds has J. Crew on their loist of 12 Collaborations That Did Not Live Up To The Hype In 2012, twice. Once for Altuzarra (I loved the striped dress and top, on sale) and once for the Manolo Blahnik one, where they ended up with cake on their face.

  7. I have just come back from visiting my 3 local stores. The sale is still 30% off, final sale, and the stock levels are pretty high IMO. I picked up the stovepipe pants in the check pattern for $49.00 less 30% off, and my educator discount.I have had my eye on them for a while. AJC reviewed them on her great blog. I did notice that the sale merchandise was interspersed throughout the store, so it is definitely worth a quick glance online to see what is on sale before you shop!

    2. Cate, what sort of yellow is it? Brownish? Neon?

      Delete
    3. It's a saturated yellow-gold. I read someone describe it as mustard, but I thought gold when I saw it. Not brownish, and I wouldn't say neon either. It's really very pretty.

      Delete
    4. I agree with cate, it is a real sunny yellow not mustardy at all. The yellow is darker on the shorts, probably because of the heavier fabric.

  30. Another thank you for the promo code! I was able to get the Mackintosh® Rousay tattersall coat on pop back in my size. Super happy to have got it for $560. I saved about $240 from the sale price thanks to that code. Also for some reason it didn't come up final sale which is also great! I havent seen any reviews online for it so hoping its a winner. Was planning to head to the store to make a ton of returns from the last few great promos, but snow is headed here in MA. Will be heading to Natick tomorrow.

    5. Yes, definitely don't cancel it over the phone. They'll give you an earful about how it might not work, blah blah blah, they'll make an exception and try, etc. etc. I get that even if it's only been 30 minutes since I placed the order.

  34. FYI...

The Lansing, MI store had a ton of fair isle leggings left. I'm pretty sure they had a full size run. Also had lots of Jules dresses in heathered wool in red (69.99x30% off = $49). Tons of colorblock oxfords in both colorways ($17 after discount).

  35. I went to the store briefly to try to get the Lulu Forst pink pendant, which is on sale online (when it is in stock). The sales rep couldn't find it online--the pendant is full price in stores (so sick of the inconsistency).

    The red phone was occupied.

He then tried to punch in a bunch of numbers to get the SKU to see the online price.

Then he wanted to call customer service, but the phone was occupied.

I finally went home because I couldn't wait another 15 minutes.

  36. Kiwigem....I looked in the mirror and my own eyes said to me "direct your energies into something else except shopping for clothes you don't need". I really slowed it down last year and I'll continue to do so. So you are not alone....I'll be wearing what I have with maybe the occassional purchase. I know that I won't be going crazy and purchasing anything at F/P. I learned that last January. Everything I bought on F/P went on deep sale and I vowed to not do that again!

    1. Straycat, I am with you. I have looked online and in the store on Friday and nothing screamed 'Must Have', even at great discounts. I did purchase some lovely items from J Crew this year. All on sale or with a discount, tried to stick with pieces that will stand the test of time. I realized I will never be cold again, here in Colorado layering in the only way to go. So even though I was tempted by some lovely thick sweaters I said 'NO'. I got some gift cards for Xmas and will wait until that special something calls my name.

    2. LOL! Well having finally gotten back into "fighting shape" after having 5 kids in 10 years, I did "need" to do some wardrobe building. We used to joke that our walk- in closet looked as though I had moved out; his side jammed and encroaching on my near-empty side. It was fun while it lasted, but now he's right- I NEED to be DONE shopping. Well, as soon as I get my hands on a luxe silk blouse in pewter. :-)

  38. My b&m is tiny, so new arrivals were scant. The store did have the scroll print jules, though. I was surprised by how thin and flimsy the dress is. I know it's crepe de chine, but this fabric was ultra fine (and I don't me that in a positive sense). Also, I don't think it's lined. $198 is an awful lot to ask for that garment.

And, as others have noted, the latest 'style guide' fails to inspire.
