J.Crew Updates Website with New Arrivals!

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Life as a Cat (in this post), as well as Tiffany Rose (in this post),who let us know that J.Crew had an update to its website today (click here to view online).

There are some new arrivals for men (click here) & women (click here). {wahoo!} It looks like Crewcuts (click here) has been updated, but not the J.Crew Collection (click here). No surprise here, but the latest catalog (click here to view) is not yet available to view.

PROMOTIONAL CODES! J.Crew is offering free shipping on any order with promo code FREESHIP. This offer ends Sunday, December 30, 2012. This promotion is no where near as great as the promotions we have seen in the past few weeks. But at least it is something! :)

"Thanks!" to Rose (in this post) who let us know that J.Crew is offering Canadian customers an additional 30% off Sale items with promo code BOXING30. This offer ends Monday, December 31, 2012.

Side Note: I wanted to mention that the Sale Section (click here to shop online) had a nice update this morning for Women (1330+ items) and Men (530+). :) Although right now, many items are ghost pages (as they already sold out). :(

Interesting: Also, did anyone catch that the Sale section is NOT Final Sale on the main sale page? I quickly checked and most items are showing up as Final Sale, however some others are not. Not sure what is going on here...

What items are you most excited about and why? Which items are you surprised (or not surprised) to see? Which items did you hope would be included? Were you expecting a bigger roll-out today? Also, did you receive the latest catalog? :)

  1. More Jules dresses. I keep hoping that they'll add a couple of inches to the hem, but I doubt this is the case. I'm very curious to see irl pics of the Collection Silk Dot Top because it looks pretty unflattering on the model....

    1. Lol. Those are the very items that I purchased from the new arrivals. I love the way that the Collection Silk Dot Top was styled and I am willing to give it a shot, at least before (or if) it arrives in final sale.
I already own 4 other Jules dresses and had my tailor let the hem out of the 3 silk ones. You get about 1 and 1/2 inches. Still a tad short (1" above knee) on my 5'4" frame but workable. I just adore the prints that I got.

    2. Please do a review of the Silk Dot Top once it arrives! It looks like it has a different fit from every angle, and I can't tell if that's because they pinned it on the model or because of its own shape. The Jules dresses come in the most beautiful prints, but I'm 5'8" and even letting the hem out won't make them work for me! Like others, I hope that they'll use that botanical print on a blouse or scarf, or maybe even on a lightweight merino cardigan like back in the good old days.

    3. I will do Whitney. I was not worried about the fit or shape of the top until other JCAs started voicing their concerns about it. I think that I was blinded by the polka-dots and the thought of trying it with my jacquard dot pensil skirt. lol

  2. Whew! I made a grand total of five orders this morning (the majority of which weren't substantial, thank you FREESHIP). I now sit back with my fingers crossed that everything actually ships.
Scored a few bits and ends at crazy sale prices on popback and also the Blythe in Pebble dot and Crepe Shawl blazer in V.Berry.

I made full price purchases of the Jules in Botanical Print and the Collection Dot Top that had me thinking that I was nuts because I never recalled seeing it. I probably won't keep either at full price unless of course they get sold out.

Alexis, the first thing that I noticed was the absence of the 'Final" sale moniker but true to J. Crew I was soon caught trying to avoid those landmines that were still marked as final sale. Would probably have done more damage if eveything was regular sale.

    1. D*ska: LOL! That is the *perfect* term for the no Final Sale/Final Sale situation: landmines!!! And the phrase "avoiding the landmines" is exactly spot on.

To be honest, I thought for a split second that J.Crew removed Final Sale. But that would be too good to be true! ;)

    2. Alexis, my heart stopped for a moment when I noticed the old SALE page instead of Final Sale :( but I was quickly brought back to this world after clicking on numerous items only to sadly see the dreaded Final Sale blah blah blah remarks. I would have done some serious shopping this AM with all the pop backs but no way with final sale!

      Delete
    3. Shekster: I know! :) I thought they might have removed it because the additional percent off promotion was over. Like you, I would have purchased quite a bit this morning but cannot take the chance with it being Final Sale. :(

    4. Come on J. Crew....why do so many items have to be on final sale...especially shoes or boots that are so hard to buy without trying them on. :( I am trying to spend my $$ with you but you are making it very difficult!

      Delete
    5. It would make sense for the final sale to be removed along with the extra percentage off, you know, just to be consistent with the B&M stores. But seeing as JC's retail strategies rarely ever make sense to onlookers...

    6. I bought a sweater yesterday on sale online, was not marked final sale and the sale section just said "sale." Saw same sweater today at store for less so I bought it there thinking I would return the online one. Got home and looked at my email confirmation and says "final sale"! WTF! Will they let this one slide if I explain and try to return it?

  3. Very excited to see the Boyfriend sweater done in a Merino wool version. but they mucked it up by making the tail longer than the front, and then the colors.....none of them are appealing. Holding breath again this spring.summer on the color palette as last 5 seasons have been horrible, IMO.

    1. Would have to agree about those colors....none of the colors are appealing to me but I like the sweater.

    2. I agree. There have been so many items that I would have loved, but one detail just killed it for me. For instance, I LOVED the Collection silk dot top when I saw it styled online tucked in. Looking at the backside pics of it, I don't have high hopes it will work for me. I am not a "tucker" so to speak. I will anxiously await D*ska's review of it.

  4. If the Jules in botanical print was longer, I would be all over it. Gorgeous print, very timeless and classic. I hope the print is used in a top at some point, then I can buy.

    1. I really like a lot of the prints they used on the swimwear...that I don't need, nor want right now. I hope some of those show up on other items.

    2. Desert Flower--I am co-signing this. I tried on the Jules in a size bigger than I normally wear and it was frumpy all over and no extra length. Sigh. J. Crew...get your act together and make these delicious prints in dresses, skirts, and shirts that flatter more than one figure. If this print had come in an a-line knee length skirt or dress, I would have absolutely purchased this today. I won't even buy the Jules on super sale at a gazillion percent off.

  5. I grabbed a pair of saturday pants on final sale. I've been waiting for these to pop back in my size forever. Hope they fit!

  6. I'm seeing some pretty things and some nice basics, which makes me happy. Will have to peruse a bit closer, so fun! Crazy popbacks this morning!

  7. I'm also in love with the botanical print on the Jules, that is gorgeous. too bad it will be too short. An unlined silk twill is something I like to wear, very comfortable.
    The scroll print is interesting.

  8. The new prints on the Jules dress are very pretty. Too bad they won't offer a new dress silhouette that is more wearable for the majority of women. Hopefully the prints will show up on other items like a scarf or blouse.

  9. I am heading to Albany New York area and am wondering if jcrew store there is worth stopping by at. Anyone live near there or have been to jcrew Albany?

    1. I live in Albany and stopped in the store the weeek before Christmas. They had a fair amount of items. This store used to carry a broad selection - including suiting, shoes, and outerwear but then switched to jeans/t-shirts mainly. So I was surprised to see coats, dressier blouses and other non-basics. Not sure if these were returns, but I didn't think so as they had multiples. Hope this helps.

  10. Does anyone know if there still is an extra percentage off in stores on the sale items? It's my birthday today, my boyfriend is being a pill -- time to shop!

  13. It was fun to see some new arrivals this morning. The No. 2 skirt in scroll print is on my must-try list!

    ReplyDelete
  14. The scroll print is beautiful. The No. 2 skirt is too long for me but the shorts have a 3" inseam, which is too short for non beachy silk shorts IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  15. The Scroll print long no.2 will be mine! It's the perfect length for me and I even have gold sandals and a demin jacket if I want to style it like the Crew. Those dresses....really! I'd have to buy two, cut off the bottom of one and sew it to the other one to make it wearable!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hmm, my wheels are turning...buy two dresses..yes, that is J. Crew's plan...make the dresses so short that we MUST buy more than ONE dress to make it work for us....sneaky, sneaky, sneaky...LOL!

  16. I'm hoping to see the anchor sweater like the Factory did and like the Crew did for kids. I read that the factory one is so thin your bra shows. Ugh. I hope the Crew does a one that isn't so cheaply made. I would have bought the kids, but I'm not that little!

  17. I filled my shopping bag yesterday online and wanted to wait until I went to the B&M store to see if I could get a better deal...and missed the tinsel promo! Hoping for a new year's promo!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Not that I can wear them right now, but I scooped up those scroll shorts. I've missed out on too many great J. Crew novelty shorts, and knew I couldn't pass these up. Hopefully they're good looking in person!

  19. Love the scroll print but can't do a Jules even on my 5'1" body. Nice to see some new arrivals but nothing I just got to have. I did visit 2 B&Ms yesterday. Scored Toothpick Jean in Velvet for $41.99, Liberty Shirt in Wiltshire for $48.99 and CeCe Flats in Dark Green for $34.99. Both stores were 30% off anything ending in .99 but FS. One of the SAs actually stopped me and told me to look around since they had run out of space in the sale section and so sale items were spread throughout the store. So true in both stores, rolling racks of clothes on sale, nothing seems to be moving.

  20. I had been looking for a blazer in black, and I saw today online that they had the school boy in wool flannel, in black! I know it is full priced, but I could not resist. I don't think they had it in black before or else I had been blind to it until today. Just hope it ships soon!

    1. That is one of my Fav's too, but I need it in a Tall size. Hopefully they will come in Talls (and Petites for those that need it) as those sizes are not showing right now.

  21. OT, but I have a PSA :) I missed on the Wonderland Puffer in black, but really need a casual warm coat. I found one and did a charge-send--yay! If anyone else is looking for a Medium black Wonderland Puffer, Denver's Cherry Creek store (303-322-7020) may have one (a return-it was online only). The store I called showed it as $168 but price-matched online's $129; stores are still doing 30% off FS, so it came in under $110 shipped-yippee! Merry Christmas to me :) Hope this helps someone...

  23. I like the scroll print. I wish they had also done it in the blue colorway that they used for the swimsuit. It's a moot point for me anyway: the Jules is too short and the skirt at 27in will be too long. I wish the pewter paisley print came in a pencil skirt. IRL I have limited use for silk capris.
OT the tuxedo silk and brocade dot pencil skirts were $99.99 in store yesterday (B4 30% discount.) In my store the sale section was packed. The sweaters were starting to look pilled and shopworn.

  24. I too like the scroll print but like others have said, the Jules is too short and I'm pretty sure that the pencil skirt will be too long. I did order the frog bracelet so I'm hoping it will be worth it.

  25. My VPS extended the Celebrate promo and my SD because I had some exchanges. I ordered the schoolboy blazer in black, jewel collar schoolboy, pixie jodhpur pants, minnie pants in boulevard green, crystal cluster necklace, and silk square in black peri. I was really hoping for the sequin etta pumps--but they are sold out in all stores in my size ! They would be the perfect new year's eve shoes!

I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on the leopard etta pumps? I think they would be a great shoe--but I'm not sure if I should get them with the promo or not! TIA!

  26. Love the print on both the new Jules' dresses...but WHY do they have to be so short? And this seems to be a very consistent theme with all of us. J.Crew - are you listening? Do you even care? Ugh.

  38. Does anyone here have the double cloth slim trench or cocoon coats? I'm wondering about the fabric content. The site only says wool/nylon but I have no idea what the proportions are. Didn't they used to indicate something along the lines of 80/20? 75/25 etc.?

  40. Only love is the scroll print, but the Jules doesn't work on me and the long no. 2 will be too long. I may try the shorts but wish they were 4" inseam instead of 3". Maybe size up?

    ReplyDelete
  41. I saw many of the new arrivals this morning at my store. I didn't try anything on because Ileft my daughter with the neighbors and I was on a quick run but a rew notes. Beware of the scroll print Jules: while the botanical one is a silk twill, the scroll Jules is a thinner silk, like the one used for the Blythe blouses (can't remember if it is lined). Also I find the pink portion a bit weird, not sure I like the colors together. The shorts are beautiful (very little pink in them) but short. They didn't look very silky to me (they have the sheen of brushed cotton twill but I was expecting something more dressy from the website description. Not that it is bad but they are not super-dressy). They seemed wide, I wouldn't size up. The abstract diamond cover-up looks better IRL than on the website.

    1. Ema thanks for the report! Did you notice if the Jules botanical was the same length as the other Jules dresses? It seems to be unlined silk twill? How are the colours? I guess you can tell I am interested in this dress! I'm almost certain it won't work, what a shame because I love the print.
      TIA for any extra info.

    2. Dani, it looked longer but I didn't check the sizes and it could be that I saw big sizes. The background is a greyish ivory, I found the print not very springy and personally I don't like it but I think you would.
I am probably going back tomorrow and I will have some more infos. I may even try it on.

  42. I just was on live chat with J.Crew, and according to the person helping me, the Jules in scroll print is 33 3/4 inches long in a size 14. So that's pretty short, even in the largest size.

Sigh. I love the print SO much, but they didn't make the skirt in a size 14, the dress is too short, and the shorts are just, not appropriate for my body type.

    Jcrew, you break my heart!
