Also, the Sale Section (click here to shop online) had another nice update this morning for Women (1240+ items) and Men (430+). More amazing than yesterday's update, and definitely worth checking out. :)

It's a great promo to pick up a quick item or two. I thought I was all shopped out, but this promo came and I ended up picking up a few items. With no Final to the Sale, it is hard to resist! ;)

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? If so, what items are you planning to get? Is your local B&M store offering an additional percent off? Please share! :)

  1. I caved and bought the photo floral cafe capris. Though not bargain basement, with the promo, they were about 1/4 their original price, and I'm drawn to the graphic. FYI, measurements on a 2: waist, 31; rise, 9; hip, 39; upper thigh, 23; and inseam, 28.

  2. both items I put in my cart had final sale attached to them. Makes this much less appealing for me. Also, it doesn't apply to baby items? I didn't think j.crew had baby items?

  3. JUST got a email promo for 30% off plus free shipping on any order with a code (different for each cardmember), good till Sunday.

Check your mail before you commit to the GIFTNOW promo!

  4. Pansy, I got the same email with a code for 30% off and free ship any size order. Since the only thing I had my eye on was tissue turtlenecks for layering, this is a great code for me!

  5. Yes. I got the cardholder promo too!!!

  6. Anyone have a promo code they're not going to use?

  7. I scored a couple nice pop backs this morning with the promo: the tippi in shocking pink for a gift for my mom (only $28 with the promo!) and finally the chiffon dot top in Dublin green(size 6petite, I never buy petite but thought both the 6 and 8 ran really large so hopefully it works). Also a swim top for our upcoming trip to costa rica :) pretty excited about all the recent promos, most of my gifts this year are from J crew haha.

Still wishing that the Minnie pants in Cabernet and the popcorn sweater would go on sale, I ordered both with the last promo but I'm going to hold off on wearing them for a while in the hopes that they will go on sale more (I just hating waiting in the fear that they will sell out).

    1. Erika, this is random I know, but I have the Cabernet minnies (we are talking bi stretch wool, right?) in a size 6 that I got at the clearance store for much less than full price, but don't love on me. They are brand new with tags. Don't know if that is the right size for you, but if you are interested, shoot me an e-mail. jca 837 at gmail.

    2. Oh, thanks so much! I ordered an 8, but I'll see how they fit when they arrive. I've heard that they stretch/run big so hopefully the 8's will be a bit large (I would love to buy your 6's then). Will let you know if the 8's are big, thanks again!!

    3. Ok Erika, just let me know! Not a problem.

  8. I finally picked up a Jules dress in petite (black) and the Perfect Shirt in Black Watch. Question about the Perfect Shirts. I have another one in size 00 and it's tight in the shoulders. I haven't washed it yet. Will it shrink some? I'm wondering if I should buy a 0 if it's going to shrink.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I would wash the shirt in cold and DO NOT DRY! Air dry and the size will fit the same. A size 00 in the perfect shirt is tight on me as well, so I usually go with a 0, so it is fitted but not tight around the shoulders.

  9. Probably OT, but the hidden sale section on Factory got a nice update!

    2. Just search "sale" on the factory website and you can see it! Lots of new markdowns on great things like the critter and fair isle sweaters.

    3. Oh, thank you for that tip JCJD! I was able to get the puffin sweater -- I bought the scottie sweater early on but thought puffin? WHY a puffin?? But after seeing it on so many JCAs looking so darn cute, I've been determined to somehow find it and now I have! Yay!

  10. Liza, I don't think the perfect shirts shrink a lot. However, you might want to exchange for a bigger size if it's tight in the shoulders brand new. One of my perfect shirts was a little snug in the shoulders and it ripped. Not much give in those shirts, so better safe than sorry.

  11. Does anyone know if they're running any in store promos on sale merchandise like an additional 25% off?

    1. Curious about this too, and wonder if they are going to be stacking like they did a few days ago. If so, I feel silly, I just bought a few things yesterday, and now wish I would have held off. All returnable, but keeping up with these promos is becoming a full time job, and I also feel like stuff may get further discounted so I should wait! Of course, this issue would be resolved if J Crew's price adjustment policy were as generous as Anthro's. Just sayin.

    2. Sarah - addtl 30% off continues in-store. Items are final sale.

      Delete
    3. Thanks GiGi-I appreciate you answering my question here & on your site. I'm going to call & see if I can track down a size 4 in store and see if they'll price match with the additional 30% off sale & ship it to me. It's a lo g shot but I'm becoming a bit obsessed with that tipped peacoat!

      Delete
    4. Sarah, try calling El Segundo in CA. They had one yesterday! It's a stunning coat. I hope you can get it!

      Delete
    5. My store doesn't (and hasn't) had the extra 30% off. So it's possible that it varies from store to store.

      Delete
    6. Phoebe, are you in the US? If you are, it's odd that your store doesn't have the addtl 30% off final sale. It's very possible that your store didn't get 'the memo' that they're supposed to be having 30% off. I know it's in effect in 2 West Coast stores & in a store back East...so multiple regions for sure.

      Delete
    7. Yep...I'm in the South. I even asked about it last weekend, and they said no.

      Delete
    8. Sorry, that was terribly vague, ha. I meant that I asked a SA at my retail store when I didn't see any signs up, and they said that there was no additional % off sale.

      Delete
    9. Phoebe, I still think that's weird. I called a store today to ask, the guy hesitated and then told me there was no 30% off of final sale. I called a store in another region and they confirmed 30%. I went into the store I'd called earlier and 30% off was final sale in full effect. Signs everywhere.

I can't help but think your store didn't read their morning memo correctly. I suppose they could be right, not participating. However, the only practice I haven't seen company wide are "kill prices." Per a JCA or two, ultra low prices happen at the end of each season. I can't recall which one(s), but it's not at any of the stores I visit.

  12. Liza, I am not sure about shrinkage in the Perfect shirt but the Black Watch one runs very small. I just bought the Perfect Gingham flannel in a size 2 and it fit with room to move. I got the Black Watch one in the mail yesterday (also in a size 2) and could barely get it on! It is tight in the arms/shoulders and I couldn't even button it!

  14. I was looking the sale blazers, and noticed the reddish Boucle Tweed Jacket and matching skirt. Were those always there? I don't recall seeing them before. Anyway, they are cute, and on sale. I wonder if the fabric is nice, or thick and scratchy.

    1. Hi Meredith! The Bouclé jacket, skirt, and dress were all marked to promo-price earlier this week. The dress was then reduced to sale price a day later, but the jacket and skirt are still on promo. I have a complete list of all promo-price items on my blog if you're interested. I just updated it today, since there were several new items added, plus a few markdowns, too. :)

  15. Early this morning I saw that the classic pave link necklace was on promo. I hesitated--and now it's gone (it said it wouldn't ship until January, which is why I hesitated).

Did anyone else see that? Does anyone else know why or how such a thing could happen?

    1. I saw that necklace online this morning too! I was surprise to see it on sale, let alone available, because the bracelet version is so popular (and I do not think it ever was on sale).

Based on past wait-listed experiences (with the most recent being the Peter Pan Collar Tee), it probably had a wait-listed date of January for one of two reasons: (1) J.Crew expects to get another shipment of necklaces in Jan to fulfill those orders; (2) J.Crew expects to get x amount of returns from brick and mortar stores to fulfill those orders.

On a bright note, J.Crew might re-offer the necklace in the updates again.

    2. I was wondering how much the necklace is on promo for? TIA!

      Delete
    3. AD MD: It's on sale now for $189.99, if I remember correctly.

    4. Rule of thumb is that if we are surprised to see it as a pop-back or at an amazing price, we should jump on it immediately (unless it's final sale!). I've missed out a few times after I've decided to think about it for a bit. Hope you can catch it next time.

    1. LOL! I was an early bird today too Unknown!!! I too hesitated and lost out on an item- the elephant necklace on sale for $25. But I *did* get the Fall Floral Crystal Necklace and matching Bracelet. I always say I am going to stay away from J.Crew's jewelry, but they keep finding new ways to draw me back in! ;)

    1. WHAT?!! I saw no sign about the outerwear and I was at my b&m today. I would've stacked it w/my 30 off cardholder to snag the Wintress Puffer at a great price! I'm so bummed!!! I saw the 30 off sweaters sign, and got the MacAlister wedges at a FAB price w/the stacking. But I'd been hoping to get the coat cheaper.

    2. Jruby18, that's interesting. The legalese on the cardholder promo says it cannot be combined. However, as we know in the Crewniverse the only consistency is inconsistency ;)

      Delete
    3. Jruby18- May I ask if all colors of the Macallister is on sale in stores? I got the 30%off cardmembers online and I was wondering if this is the promo I can stack with the sale % in stores...TIA!

  18. Just in case it pops back during the promo and anyone is interested in it, I just posted a review of the Collection Pleated Maxiskirt here. I wanted to hate it, but ended up loving it. Curses!

  19. Unknown (reply not working)- try getting your local B&M to match the online price for the pave link necklace if they are willing to look for the sale price...worth a shot if you can find it in store while it is still on sale online!

    2. Injanuity, if you don't mind sharing what is the price you got the pave link necklace for? TIA!

    3. AD - I replied below. The necklace was still regular price at my store (Canada), but they will honor the 185.99 plus 30%.

      Delete
  20. ADMD, I feel like the price was something like $100, which would have made the discounted price 75. Or something crazy like that. While I sat there, drinking my coffee, getting ready to exercise, and trying to decide what to do, of course everything went away.

But I've seen other jewelry pieces early in the morning. I was up at 5:30 and the inventory suddenly multiplied around 6:00AM.

Alexis--if you got that Fall Floral thing, then I'm happy it went to you! I'm hoping there are some other great jewelry popbacks when the inventory updates again. Sale stalking is crazy.

I'm sorry all my posts are "Unknown." I know there are other Unknowns. Somehow Google does this to me. And yes, Google, you make me feel like a peon.

RE JCrew jewelry--every time I wear it, I think: "But this goes with everything!" And I always get compliments. They make great pieces, even if it's just costume jewelry. Having seen the leopard necklace, I now want it.

For anyone living in NYC, there is a Lulu Frost sample sale tomorrow. I'm determined to go and see what the prices are like.

    2. ADMD - this morning it was 185.99 to ship to Canada - so it would have been slightly less to ship to US (price before 25-30%).

  21. I wouldn't mind for every now and then us to write what great popbacks we found/ordered :). Just a thought.

    1. I wear the same size in both factory and retail pencil skirts (I do get my bigger size because I like them a bit looser). I think the factory skirts run a tad smaller then the retail ones and they also tend to be a tad shorter.

      Delete
    2. Canada Crew - I go up one size in Factory. It fits smaller, almost like going to a petite size. Side-by-side comparison of retail vs factory pencil skirts in this post.

  24. I purchased the crystal color statement necklace (the one pictured above) which I bought last week during the 25%/30% sale. When it arrived yesterday, two of the dangling pieces were broken off the main necklace. Upon inspection, I noticed that the pieces were soldered together, but on J. Crew's website, they are attached with jump rings. I like the necklace, but will be returning the defective one and don't think I will get a replacement. Maybe if it were as shown on the website, but I'm afraid after wearing for a while, the soldered pieces would start detaching. If I had known this, I would've gotten the Lulu Frost wheat pendant, which is now sold out! Grrrr!

    1. stpatty - Lulu Frost wasn't eligible online during the 20% - 30% promo. Hope that makes you feel better. :) However, I do say 'online' because I imagine someone somewhere got the discount applied in-store.

    2. ...oh and I tried the frost wheat pendant. Didn't like it. Someone else here felt the same. Looked weird. Felt cheapie for the price.

    3. Thanks, I didn't know that (about the promo). And sounds like that one was a miss, too.

I did get the Martina metallic wedges in that shipment and love them, so it wasn't a total loss. I wore them today and got a bunch of compliments.

  28. ADMD I am not sure. The number 100 was stuck on my head but it was early. Up thread someone said she got it for $112 (congrats!) which is around 100. Maybe that's what the price was after the discount. I do remember it being strangely low.

If anyone else is awake-OT-but Anthro's sweaters are suddenly all 70% off.

And a bunch of popback colors on the Pencil No 2 skirt, so I bit the bullet and got one in Heather Acorn (which I missed out on last week)! I love these promos, but they are killing me!
