Ends Today: A Fantastic Holiday Sale {in stores & online}

Today is the last day J.Crew is offering an additional 30% off SITEWIDE (no min!) plus free shipping ($100+), for J.Crew customers with promo code CELEBRATE.

Today is also the last day for holiday delivery via standard ground shipping.  If you want to make sure your package arrives by December 24, orders have to be placed by the end of today (11PM EST).

Lastly, the Sale Section (click here to shop online) had a nice update this morning for Women (1000+ items) and Men (400+). As you can imagine, items are selling out quickly. Still, it is worth checking out since some items have been reduced from earlier this week. :)

Part of me is sad to see this (& the last) promotion go. I went crazy overboard buying items. (As I mentioned before, the combination of 30% off, free shipping, and no final sale, was too tempting for me!) The other part of me is thrilled it is ending. Why? Because I went crazy overboard buying items. I need a break!

And nothing puts a damper on my shopping like Final Sale. Which we all know is just around the corner. Do we think the Final Sale will show up this week or next week?

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? If so, what items are you planning to get? Please share! :)

  1. I did take advantage of the promo earlier this morning to order the Excursion Quilted vest in Navy that popped back online in my size. I ended up getting free shipping on it without having to add anything else to make it to the $100, too.

I need to run out to the mall tomorrow, so I'll stop into the J.Crew B&M to see what kind of deals they still have there, too. Others have reported that the 30% off will still apply in store until the 24th, so hopefully that will be the case at my store. :)

I think there is a good possibility that Final Sale will be back tomorrow, or at least before Christmas Day like it was last year. Today is probably the best 'last' chance to take advantage of purchasing without the risk of final sale, plus the extra 30% off is an added bonus.

For thoses interested, there were several previously promo-priced items that got marked down this morning. I noted them in this post.

    1. FFM: Congrats on the Vest! If you did not have one already, you will find it is a great versatile piece! Also, I was wondering if Final Sale would show up online tomorrow too...

    2. Thanks Alexis! I actually do already have one in Warm Bisque, as well as the Herringbone version. I agree with you that they are very versatile, and that's one of the reasons I decide to add another color to my wardrobe. :)

Hopefully final sale will not show up tomorrow, but it does seem highly possible at this point.

    3. FFM, please don't tell me you got the vest in xs :) I've been looking for a navy one too! I'm assuming that the free shipping over $100 applies before the 30% off? That's what most stores do.

    5. Hi Lauren! I got the XXSmall in the vest this morning. It's been popping back regularly this week in all colors, so there is still a chance you'll be able to get one. :)

Most retailers do apply the free shipping before the 30% off, but in the past J.Crew has regularly made it so that you have to reach the minimum after the % off is applied. That's why I was pleasantly surprised this morning when the free ship applied before the discount.

    6. I'm glad you found the vest you wanted! I have the pink one and love it!

Maybe they are being more generous with their shipping around the holidays? I usually don't spend enough for free shipping.....

I hope you get your order soon! I made an order this morning and it's supposed to be here tomorrow (wow)!

  2. I've gone a little overboard too. I love that it's all returnable if it doesn't work out. I'm curious to see what happens to outerwear prices after Christmas though.

My favorite purchase from all these promos so far is the Stadium cloth duffle coat in dark artichoke. I caught it during a promo switchover so I got it for $350 - 30% -30% - 10% cash back (=$154.36).

    1. Cate O: LOL! I know what you mean! I purchased so much with the premise that it is returnable if it doesn't work out. But so far, I am keeping most items! ;)

    2. I'm hoping to pick up that duffle coat in artichoke too. Waiting for colors to go on sale.

  3. Yes. I love the SchoolBoy jacket, and just read your old review about it. I see some colorful stripe tops too and the polka dot sweater.

This is the first time i will ever purchase from Jcrew, i am excited and nervous at the same time.

  4. I placed one last order...Bi Stretch Minnies's in Heather Caramel. I practically live in my Black and Cabernet ones and the Nolita Jacket. I have wanted it for awhile and it rarely goes on sale so I thought I would take advantage of the 30% off.

  5. Elizabeth on The View is wearing the Frenchie sweater today, so cute! Although, I'm not a fan of her new bangs.

    1. Marietta: I noticed her wearing that top too! She has been wearing a lot of J.Crew items (from sweaters to necklaces) lately. I think I even saw Joy Behar wear a J.Crew necklace or two.

    2. Yes, I saw joy wearing the Caboochan (sp?) fan necklace a couple weeks ago.

  6. I placed two orders this morning! And it was all for me. Yikes!!! I am also glad it is not final so I can try a few things out, like the collection skirt in hothouse floral! I'm sure it will be marked down in the near future and I'm not sure it will work on my petite frame, but it is so gorgeous I just have to give it a try. I am also trying the booker high heel boots, cashmere boyfriend stripe sweater and merino turtle neck sweater among other things.

  7. Christmas gifts have wiped me out at the moment but the Double Cloth Slim Trench in camel is very tempting. I am stopping in Lynchburg this weekend en route to our Christmas destination so I will stop in to see what kind of deals they have in the clearance store, especially coats if there are any left.

I bet final sale will return after this promo ends. I don't mind final sale on substantial discounts but their idea of taking 20% off the price and making it non returnable isn't any incentive for me to buy.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Agreed on the non-substantial discounts for final sale...Kate Spade makes items final sale when they are less than 50% of their original price. That always seemed fair to me.

  8. I am going to echo other JCAs and say that I'm so happy the millions of items that I purchased are not final sale. I went a little crazy with all these promos. :)

  9. Ordered the no. 2 pencil skirt in metallic floral today after it popped back up in my size. Does anyone know if there are reviews of this? (Should have asked that question before ordering, I suppose!) Still a couple more things I want so may order again later....

    2. Oh, I think it looked gorgeous on you! May I ask why you returned it?

      Delete
    3. I liked it a lot but figured I would get limited wear out of it because it is so shiny and green. It's more shiny IRL than in the website photo, and not sure I could wear it to the office at all.

    4. I thought it was really pretty on you too! I ordered it as well... thought it would be really pretty for the holidays and hopefully will work for the office. I love all these promos!

  10. I got the Stretch Perfect Shirt in Sheer Mint and LOVE it...beautiful colour, not sheer, great fit. I also got the Tall Velvet Toothpicks in navy (love!) and the Patent Martinas in Dark Aubergine (haven't received them yet). Has anyone seen the dark aubergine colour in person? I'm wondering if it's more purple-based or brown-based.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I love the Martinas and was so excited by the new color BUT very brown IMHO. I returned immediately. If you put it next to something aubergine (plummy, however you would describe it), they could take on that color. But I would never have marketed them as aubergine unless one's aubergine was losing its sheen....

      Delete
    2. Oh no! They may be a return for me, then. Now I'm wondering if I should order the black while the 30% off is still going on, since those will be more useful.

    3. I am so tempted by the shiny gold ones that I have to back away slowly from my computer! I have leopard, calfhair, apricot mist, .... love gold...

  11. LOL, Alexis! I feel the same way. I'm sad to see it go, but clearly it needs to go away for my own good. I had such a hard time resisting this sale. In fact, I spent more this past month at J Crew than I've spent there all year.

  12. OT: For those interested in a similar, less-expensive alternative to the Aggie suede ankle boot from J.Crew, the Mossimo Supply Co. Kaelyn Ankle Boot from Target is a good one. Plus, it's on sale now, too. I've reviewed it here on my blog today.

  13. I wish I wasn't so tapped out from Christmas spending because this promotion is great and so much of the sale stuff is really nice. I did order my double-cloth slim trench yesterday (yay!!) but I'm trying to not buy anything else for myself. I did get a couple of the lambswool mens sweaters and the wool angora colorblock scarf in the guava stone as Christmas presents.

  14. I sent a list to my VPS today--hopefully she can find everything! Sale items: Heart bracelet, Metal Pearl Bracelet, Minnie Pants in Heather Caramel, Grand Stone Necklace, Swiss Dot Tippi. FP: Flower Lattice Necklace in Crystal. I was hoping to snag the Etta sequin pumps but they are completely sold out in size 8 in store! Hopefully someone makes a return after Xmas!

  15. I'm waivering on the modern red schoolboy, the selvedge chambray and the neon pink check boy shirt. I already ordered a green tippi (will be all ready for the panetone emerald green this spring) and it is out for delivery today. I need to pull the trigger!

    1. If you're still thinking about the selvedge chambray, I'll tell you to grab it without hesitation. I bought one in 2010 and it's one of my most favorite and most frequently worn wardrobe items. Very well made and just gets better with age.

_the wool angora snood ...nice would get it if it get really cheap
-the velvet schoolboy ( just didn't like the POPPY color
_ the bling button cardi( not worth the price as it felt like it was way too thin to last more than a wear or two...in my world
_ the collection cashmere hoodie...if it gets cheaper I know what size to order...nice but still tres $$ ...in my world
the edie wallet...for $35 it was okay but the continental at $70 was the winner
I picked items up in the USA so prices US not Can.
I read someone mention TJMaxx jewllery a few days ago. Popped into the store in Bellingham..Saw probably ten pieces that were VERY similiar to J Crew's ... the bracelets were under $20 and the necklaces $30.
I am ready now for when the dreaded final sale hits...and will only order if prices are crazy low. Thanks Carolyn from Vancouver

  22. Question for the ladies who buy Tall size pants...is there any difference between tall and regular in terms of rise measurements, proportion in thigh, or is it just pant length? TIA!

  23. Ugh these promos have gotten me too many times in the last two weeks!! Ordered two tissue turtlenecks and the grey flannel plaid boyshirt this am. This evening I went to to make a return and left with the Swiss dot chiffon blouse in green (last one in the store) and the ivory cashmere snood, which rang up at 79.99 before 30% off. So soft, I think I will live in it !!

  24. I ordered a few more items since FS is right around the corner, and figure I can return if these don't work out. Ordered black twill Minnies - Factory store is out of the black online and no factory store nearby me, so I'm going w/the retail version. Also picked up the Isabel Cashmere sweatshirt. Also, thanks to JSR, was able to find the grey cowlneck sweatshirt in sz. M, at a store. At first, I didn't like it, but after seeing how great it looks styled on a few blogs, decided to give it a second try. I dress casual pretty much every day, so I know it will be used frequently.

    1. How is the fit on the Isabel Cashmere sweatshirt? I wonder if the neck opening is too big, or if I'd need to wear a shirt under it.

      Delete
    2. I tried another version of it a month or so ago, and honestly, the sweater was really big all over. I'm re-rying it in a sz. smaller and will review when I get it (although it's on back-order). And I admit, I'm nervous about if it'll be too wide in the neck. In the picture on the website, for some reason, the neck looks bigger than the one I tried before. This is exactly why I ordered it now - so I can return if it doesn't work out. Will not get stuck w/FS.

  25. I sent an online order back last week & just checked to make sure that it was in fact delivered yesterday. Does anyone know if J.C. Sends a confirmation email when your return is processed or do I just have to wait & see? I'm not a regular Crewer & I'm not familiar w/procedure. Also, just received my sequin stripe tee, polka dot black sequin tee, polka dot champagne sequin tee & fuchsia schoolboy blazer & LOVE them all!! Can't believe I got such good deals on all of them!!!

  28. OT--But someone was asking about the Collection Cashmere Fair Isle, which just arrived. It was a last minute Celebrate order.

I am taking an extra small. I am always either a small or extra small in sweaters, which I realize isn't particularly helpful. So:

I took an extra small in the polka dot cashmere sweater.

Took a small in the cashmere boatneck, which I use for layering.

I took smalls in the Collection cashmere cable pullover.

I took extra smalls in the collection cashmere turtlenecks.

I took a small in the farmyard animal sweater.

I tend to like my sweaters to be fitted--nothing slouchy. But I don't want to be uncomfortable.

As for quality--it's a gorgeous hand knit fair isle sweater. The yarn is thick and the sweater is extremely warm. I'm only waffling because it is still $250 with the discount/promo and because . . . do I need such a warm sweater? It's always so hot indoors.

The colors are gorgeous and pretty much what you see online--I got the fuschia color.

I like the length. It hits at the hip, but also gives me a waist, which is important to me.

I didn't like the square boatneck cashmere sweater, for example, because it was tight in the hips.

Sigh. What to do. What to do.
