I was not sure if there was going to be another promotion available today. So again, delightfully surprised to see this one. Plus, the extra 30% off extends to brick and mortar stores.

Lastly, the Sale Section (click here to shop online) had a decent update this morning for Women (900+ items) and Men (360+). Worth seeing as some items have been reduced from earlier this week. :)

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? If so, what items are you planning to get? Please share! :)

    1. I was tempted by the impractically pink Lady Coat for $139.99, if only because I liked how they styled the bright pink coat with the burgundy skirt in the Tokyo catalog.

    2. Yessss! Finally, the Double Cloth Slim Trench Coat in brilliant cobalt was marked down to $169.99, about $124 with tax after the 30% promo. I've been watching it all season!!!! YAYYY!!!!

  2. There are also numerous new Promo-priced items this morning, along with some markdowns on items that were previously promo-priced (Polka-dot sequin top, Bling button cardi, Liberty nightshirt in capel, to name a few). Updated list is here.

    1. Also want to say that it's nice that there is another promo for a couple more days instead of final sale (although it will more than likely be back before Christmas). Too bad they didn't keep the free ship/no minimum, but at least this is something, and the $100 minimum is better than the normal $150.

    2. I'm glad I ordered last night because even with the price drop on one of my items, I made out better than having to pay for shipping.

  3. Luxe wool crepe blouse marked down again, sigh. Now I must stalk a popback of the navy. J.Crew, why must you do this to me???

And the double serge hackings are now $129.99, unbelievable. Last year the good colors were selling out at full price/first markdown. Hopefully they will realize that mint, periwinkle, and coral are NOT good colors for a winter jacket. If they made a navy, true red, or deep purple double serge hacking jacket, I'd be all over it. I made the colossal mistake of selling my purple Lexington jacket on eBay a couple years ago; still regretting that!

  4. Oh, and the heart pave pendant is marked down already! The one with the three diff. colored hearts. Saw it in person and it is much cuter than it looks online.

    1. At my B&M it was marked to $49.99. I almost got it, but (1) didn't feel like waiting; (2) was only buying it b/c it was such a good deal. JC pave is very pretty, I must say, but I just think this particular color combination is odd (orange/yellow/teal).

  5. I would have been all over the mint jacket if it was short...but at 5-2 I am not sure it would work for me. Any shorties have any opinions on the jacket. Does it overwhelm a petite frame? And what do you pair it with? jeans? Slacks? The gold buttons are also a turnoff - but they can be replaced, right?

Thankfully nothing I ordered in the last few days went down anymore - I ordered:

Edie Bag in shallow sea - $111
Cashmere mini cable in mint -$111
    matchstick cords in lilac -$28
ballet flats in mint blue -$68
the Dodo IPAD case - $42
Mona pumps in red currant -$68

    1. i'm 5'3 and have the bright turquoise hacking from last season. it's not too long on my frame - i posted it with jeans, but have worn it with dresses and dress pants for work. hope this helps!

      bright turquoise hacking

    2. I am 5"3' and high waisted. I usually need a petite in jackets. The hacking was to long and narrow for me. It did not hit me correctly in the waist. The schoolboy is a much better fit. However, I wear an 8/10 in jackets so the proportions may be different in the smaller sizes.

      Delete
    3. I am 5' 4" and wear the Hacking Jacket in 2p. I don't find it overwhelming at all. I prefer the sleek fit of it to the boxier fit of the Schoolboy Blazer.

    4. To Unknown @Dec 18, 7:14 PM,

What size would you have taken in the regular fit? I took a 2 in the regular size and it's way too long on my 5'4" frame too. I could have sized down to a zero, as I did in last year's version but I wanted the extra room for thicker knits.

This year's version has almost two inches on last year's and the '07 Lexington. I just think that the mint would be perfect for spring with my kelly green Tippi, otherwise I would leave this year's subpar version alone. Sigh.

  6. Does the Cashmere Boyfriend Cardigan fit similar to the Boyfriend sweater? I found the sweater quite large wondering whether I should size down in the cardigan as well?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I don't think so. I bought my normal size small in the cashmere boyfriend- not oversized at all but true to size. I think boyfriend references the style vs. fit. (Ie) the v being lower and slightly grandpa look.

Also, my VPS mentioned that J. Crew is upgrading the shipping to express (for free) so that it arrives for x-mas - not 100% sure but I think this might be for all orders or all over $100.

    1. Melodie, I don't think it's supposed to be final sale in-store. They should be scanning a globlal 30% code, not a 30% final sale code. I would ask them to double-check w/corporate before committing to any final sale on your receipt.

    1. I had that happen last year, I ordered these boots for an absolute steal and was so excited to get the shipping confirmation, the box I got was a tiny one and inside were some factory flats, not even my size. A box for knee high boots is certainly much larger than a small shoe box. The boots I wanted were sold out and a year later I can't find any, I wrote a letter to Mickey and they honored the price I would have gotten those boots for on another pair and threw in free overnight shipping

Whatever the reason, i.e., trying to get rid of merchandise, need to move old inventory, etc., I AM A VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER. I would really appreciate one those special holiday gift books that some of your customers are raving about, but if you decide not to send me one (even though I have spent well beyond my budget), I still love all the promos!

  21. I re-ordered the sterling skirt in a petite sz. Unfortunately the black is sold out, so I settled on the grey. The reg sz hit me at what I felt was a frumpy length on me, below the knee by a couple inches. Also it was a little big in my size, so thinking the petite will fit me better all the way around. Also since I missed out on the Isabel two-tone cashmere sweatshirt in a beige color, I'm trying the collection cashmere funnel neck sweeter in a camel color. It was marked down from a crazy $425 to $199 & then w/the discount, it's down to $140. I'll be interested to see how these work out. I'm very glad I can return if these don't work out.

I got the Tippi in Celestial blue for my MIL, and the Matchstick Cords in Dusty Blue and the Wool Houndstooth Scarf for myself :)

  24. I just placed an order Sunday night for the Schoolboy blazer in fuschia, the black sequin polka dot top, the champagne sequin polka dot top, and the champagne stripe sequin top (apparently was a magpie in a past life) and saw today that the blazer & the polka dot tops got marked down another $20 a piece so I reordered everything. I had forgotten to use ebates the 1st time anyway so that was extra incentive & didn't want to deal with hassle of a price adjustment. I've purchased more at J. Crew in the past month than my whole life, mainly due to the great prices (this makes the 3rd schoolboy blazer I've purchased bc I've gotten them all for about $70 a piece). I hope they continue with the great promos. I also want to say thanks to all of you for your reviews & willingness to answer questions. I'm more than 2 hours from a B&M so I can't try things on in advance & I hate to buy a ton and then return. You all are incredibly helpful & I appreciate it. I might be a new Crew-vert!

  25. ^ Same, these promos have made me buy a lot. Today I pulled the trigger on the cashmere boyfriend sweater in navy kelly. It was marked down overnight and the additional 30% and a promotional $25 giftcard I had plus ebates 6% back made me give in! Last week I ordered the sequin stripe tee. I got it last Friday. Very nice but seems quite delicate. Wondering how to style it. Any suggestions?

  27. I went to B&M (Columbus Circle NYC) yesterday and I heard them going on about how the sale was the most amazing ever and ending that day so we all had better get our stuff NOW. Glad I didn't buy into the hype and buy more than I could afford at the time. I got the lambswool diamond sweater in navy mint, which was pretty much what I went in for, and that was that. The Associates there are super friendly, though... none of the snootiness I read about some of you having to deal with.

    Size 0 waist 30" hips 36.75
    Size 2 waist 31 hips 37.75

For reference last summers cafe Capri which I based my ordering decision on for the stovepipe-
    Size 0 waist 30.25 hips 37
    Size 2 waist 31.25 hips 38

I love these pants and the petite length was right on. I am kind of getting tired of cropped pants so it was nice to have full length pants! :)

  33. I bought some MaCalisters for my husband yesterday that were ticketed $99.99 and rang up $69.99...they were all alone on a shelf in his size so I was excited I could add them under the tree! But the SA told me it was final sale..I was like, well its a gift, I am not positive they will fit. She asked if he could come in and try them on tomorrow (present??) then a manager walked by and said that with a gift receipt he can get store credit. Looks like sale=final sale at stores is here, but confusing for gift giving.

I also bought another Liberty shirt. I wanted those shirts all fall--they look like they would be perfect for spring. But they really aren't suitable for this weather. Not sure if I will keep it . . .
