This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SUMMER sale, or to see some new SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!
Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!
Thinking about hitting the Robson store on Sunday. Went to the Crewlet and 2 B&Ms down south last weekend, so maybe I shouldn't haha. A couple crewlet reviews HERE.
ReplyDeleteI might meet you in there. :)
DeleteHeading to the mall today
ReplyDeletewill check out JC
did anyone watch the CNBC show last night, it is on the DVR for later
This weekend is my birthday getaway. I will be hitting the J.Crew factory store at Clinton Crossing in Connecticut. There will be an extra 20% of 125.00 purchase until June.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, Congratulations on your spot appearance on the J.Crew documentary last night. Very exciting. It's glad to see that someone is listening to our concerns. Thank you for this forum.
ReplyDeleteNo, enjoy if you go. Heading to the beach:) Yeah! It's going to be hot;) My kind of weather.
ReplyDeleteNot going this weekend...I'm also headed to the beach.
ReplyDeleteOT: There are more items that got put on promo-price this morning. I updated the list here.
Also, I know there are a lot of men who shop at J.Crew, not to mention all the wives, girlfriends, and mothers that shop at J.Crew for the men in their lives, so I've put together the list of men's items that are marked at Promo-price right now, too. You can see that list here. :)
Sorry to post here, FFM, the box to add new comments seems to be missing from my screen.
DeleteFor anyone looking for the striped villa dress sold out online, the Lenox mall in Atlanta had about 6 to 8 of them in size Small as of Friday pm. I tried it on based on other's reviews & blog pictures and it's very flattering, even on a rectangle shape like myself! Something about the way the dark thicker stripes are at waist level I think. Well made, thick knit, stripes match up at seams... much better than the usual JC quality and a great price at $88 less 30%.
It's still FP in store but they matched the 30% markdown and made it final sale. If I had known it was marked down to $68 online PLUS 30% off, I would have pressed them for an even lower price but it's still worth what I paid.
Went yesterday to get the Frances dress in lifesaver print (same price than online). The Jardin maxi is on sale for $69.99 in both colors, fresco floral top is $69.99 (too bad it doesn't fit me well since I have the pants), the blue cascading necklace (sorry I can't remember the name right now) is $79. Try me on other stuff, many items went on sale.
ReplyDeleteOh I love the blue Jardin maxi. I might have to go get one.
DeleteKinda funny how even Mickey had sticker shock when he picked up the fresco floral top. $69.99 sounds about right but it didn't fit me well either (I too have the pants!). Wasn't the jardin maxi new like two weeks ago?
DeleteThanks for the heads up on the Floral fresco top Emma. Have been eyeing it for a while but was waiting for a lower price since I'm thinking of having it altered.
DeleteWhich store was the fresco floral top at? Did you happen to notice the sizes?
DeleteMy weekends are always spoken for but definitely have plans to visit the Deer Park crewlet on Monday.
ReplyDeleteI went yesterday . TONS of stuff in the sale area but they were NOT honoring an additional 30% off. I might have bought a few things. I tried on a couple of things...the dot covered tee shirt, meh...overprived, the ring around eyelet top was just ok too but what I think is interesting is that many things I bought online on sale and an extra 30 off were regular price in the store. I just don't get why they don't honor in store sales as well. I guess they don't want to sell TOO much! HA!
ReplyDeleteWas the eyelet top on sale? I bought it full price but it's sitting in the bag...I'm hoping it goes on sale. I think full-price was too much.
DeleteLisa - the ultra eyelet shell is on sale for $69.99 in-store in both white & chili.
DeleteI was in the 5th Ave store in NYC yesterday, the Raindrop Lace blouse was on sale, floral silk bow cami, lots of sandals and full price sandals are 25% off in store.
ReplyDeleteMB, how much was the raindrop lace top?
DeleteHi Gigi, $69.99, I bought it in pink.
DeleteHTH
Thanks, MB
DeleteAficionadas - I have a question. I got the Aubrey Jacket and Cafe trouser. I am very small and suiting that fits is almost impossible to find.
ReplyDeleteThe Aubrey jacket is really short - which normally is great - and fits awesome in the shoulders (no pads :) but the jacket is weirdly wide on me. I would feel weird with it closed. That can't be the style? I ended up getting it for $100 with my spring rewards card (124 on promo with 30 off) but I am not sure I can keep it.
I am also on the fence about the cafe trouser that I got for $68. It is unlined but not itchy. Fit seems okay but the ends get caught on my heel in a werid static-y way.
I am hesitant to return such a beautiful suit that was so cheap and fits pretty well...but the wideness of the jacket is bugging me.
Any thoughts on the Aubrey jacket and cafe trouser in super 12os?
I had the same gripe about the Aubrey fit, but I bought mine final sale so I can't return it. Their previous shorter suit jacket styles fit me much better (the 2 button, the "dietrich"). I'm also petite.
DeleteI would return mine if I could. Even though you got a "good deal", the point of a beautiful suit is fit as much as fabric and construction quality. On me and to my eye, the wideness makes it obvious that it's not a great fit (but I'm relatively picky). You could get it tailored, but that would undercut the good deal in $ and hassle. Also, it's not a good deal if you don't wear it that much!
oh yeah I never button it closed because it does look weird!
DeleteI don't have a J Crew near me, but I did visit the Cherry Creek one in Denver last weekend and purchased the Scout Chino in the neon peach.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.jcrew.com/womens_category/pants/chinoutilitypants/PRDOVR~70399/70399.jsp
I LOVE these pants. The fabric is nice and the pockets don't "wing out" like some pants do. I highly recommend them!
Have a great weekend!
Vava
I will be near some JC stores this weekend, though not likely to have time to stop in, unfortunately. As a side note, I find it a little embarrassing to walk into a JC lately since I'm so often wearing all JC. This happened in a couple NYC stores and the sales associates all commented on recognizing components of my outfit.
ReplyDeleteEma, do you mind letting me know which store had the Jardin maxi skirt on sale? I would love to track one down...but wondering if they will honor the add'l 30% off?
ReplyDeleteSara - let me know if you find a store that does. I want one too! :)
DeleteMy local J Crew (Shrewsbury NJ) had the maxi skirts on sale for $69.99 too. They wouldn't honor the 30% off, and the SA was so rude about it (arguing with me that online sale was final, etc), that I ended up putting the skirt back on the rack and leaving. I don't think I'd wear it enough to even make $69.99 worth it. It was lovely though- very soft!
DeleteThe San Diego store also had the skirt on sale for $69.99. There were only a few available in limited sizes.
DeleteThey were out of my size in the Aqua/Mint color but the SA offered to order it for me using the red phone and have them honor the in-store price and the extra 30% off. I was pleasantly shocked.
Mei - I think you asked me...I ended up going for the 6P over the 4. If you have a smaller waist, you could do a 4P over the regular 4. I am not fit right now, but I do believe it runs one size large, esp if you like to wear your bottoms lower on the hip.
DeleteThanks, Gigi. I'm also 5'2". I was good with the 4 at the waist. Online, the only petite size left in the Aqua is a 2P. I agree with you. The regular length still works for petites.
DeleteI would like to visit the Yorkdale store but not sure if I have the time. I went to a cocktail reception for the Mulleavy sisters of Rodarte, and it was incredible just how many people were wearing J. Crew!! Of course, I wore J. Crew - the Ella dress in Porcelain Paisley, which was perfect for the event. (Remember Rodarte's collection from a couple years ago, featuring the dresses with Ming Dynasty porcelainware patterns in cobalt blue and white?)
ReplyDeleteOn a related note: the hoardings have gone up in the Toronto Eaton Centre for the new J. Crew store - I posted a photo, along with more comments on the Rodarte event, HERE.
Plus, for blog followers, I am running a giveaway for a $20 giftcard to SkinCareRX.com and tossing in a $25 giftcard for J. Crew to sweeten the deal. Please check it out!
Sara, it was the Rockfeller Center store but I guess it is on sale in the other stores too. They only have a few in the mint color but quite a lot of the blue one. They typically honor the 30% off.
ReplyDeleteJust got back from doing returns : ) The Viv printed patent flats in light walnut black were on sale for $69.99. I was so tempted to buy based on the price but I couldn't justify it due to the absurd number of shoes I already own. I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!
ReplyDeletewould you mind telling me which store? Thanks!
DeleteJruby18 it was the menlo park mall in Edison NJ
Deletenot much new on sale in Hackensack excecpt a very pretty orange sleeveless Attache dress it was 79.99 really nice. Now I'd be really annoyed if I bought that online at 130 then saw it at that price in the store what gives JC????
ReplyDeleteWhy no add'l 30 off in the store?
Hi Lisa,
ReplyDeleteThe eyelet top was full price in store. Don't know if that is going on sale soon...isn't it kinda new? Well...we know that really doesn't make any difference. Good luck.
I just called the king of prussia store and the SA confirmed that they are not acknowledging the additional 30% off sale. It's a pity, they usually have a great selection.
ReplyDeleteWent to the Prince St store in NYC and the Ultra Eyelet Shell in red was on sale for $69.99.
ReplyDeleteVisiting the in-laws in Lynchburg and hope to make it to the Clearance stores!
ReplyDeleteWent in to return some items that I was able to snag with the promo, and of course got a couple things. My store did match the promo, and not final sale. They are awesome. I took home the Jardin maxi (size down--I got a 6 and 4 in the Jardin and needed a 2 in the maxi). I also Finally grabbed the striped flats ($56 with discount). Almost got stuck in the striped Jules, trying on a 2, so I don't recommend sizing down (snort). Tried on and loved a new chambray dress, but not paying $115. New anchor mini that I sized to a 6, but wasn't feeling it.
ReplyDeleteWent this am and was able to snag the no. 2 pencil in gardenshade floral for$39.99 the only size they had was a 4 . 2 would have been.better but at that price , I'll make it work. What as deal!
ReplyDeleteNot sure if you'll see this, but I have the gardenshade floral pencil skirt in size 2 and have been looking to trade for a 4! Are you interested in switching?!
DeleteSorry to reply here but couldn't do so above. Thanks Ema for answering my question about the Jardin Maxi. And Shop with M - I want those striped flats but my store didn't carry them. Do you have a style number or could you tell me where you got yours so I can call and see if they have my size? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Sara - The striped flats that are on sale are style 70502, $79.99, $99.99 online. Walnut Creek 925.943.7664 had size 6.5 & 8.5 as of yesterday. Hope I'm talking about the same ones you are.
DeleteThanks Gigi for posting the numbers. They had 8, 8.5 and I think a 7? Send me a quick email at mcullen7318 at gmail and I can give you all the details.
DeleteI've updated the newest cuts and they're at the top of this post. If you're interested in in-store vs online prices check out this post. I put the most recent prices change dates in red.
ReplyDelete@Sara - sorry I couldn't reply above. I saw the striped flats (style # per gigiofca's post) at the Burlington, VT store on Tuesday. Not sure what sizes, but they definitely had a few pair. HTH
ReplyDeleteHyannis, ma store had a 0 and a 2 navy matinee trench for 109.00 and many colors of 3 and 5 in chino shorts for 35, including a nice green color I had never seen before.
ReplyDeleteI just did a review of the Keeper Chambray Shirt:
ReplyDeletehttp://handbagaficionado.blogspot.com/2012/05/jcrew-keeper-chambray-shirt-review.html
I ordered some things on the website for 30%, which wasn't happening in the store. :(
Has anyone seen a Jardin maxi skirt in the aqua color, size 2 or 4, in their store this weekend? Let me know if you have! Musingsonmtn@gmail.com.
ReplyDeleteYesterday at downtown SF, I saw the aqua color Jardi maxi skirt in size 2 and 6. HTH.
DeletePicked up the blue cascading necklace (thanks for the tip, Ema!) and chambray shirt ($69.99). My SA honored the 30% off online with the student/educator discount, otherwise I would not have gotten either!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the help above regarding the striped flats. My size are on their way to me for the in-store sale price PLUS 30% off PLUS free shipping! Yay! Thanks again for all the responses & help. Now I'm on the hunt for the aqua Jardin maxi in a 10 or 12 so PLEASE come through for me again & let me know if any of you have any leads. Thanks!
ReplyDeletePicked up the cafe capri in casablanca blue and warm jade for 39.99 plus the 30% off and student discount!
ReplyDeletePicked up the Malta Midheel sandals $79.99 then the 30%v off in store, they came down to $55.99. These sandals are amazing, very true to size, and so comfortable!!! Have been keeping a close eye on these for some time now. Very happy!!!
