"Thanks!" to many of you, including GingerSnap, love2shop4bags, Cari, Laura (in this post), another Laura (in this post), as well as Irish Mar, cortney_joy, Lauren, Summerilla, Cass, Kristin, Sarah, RatsOnParade, rynetta, Vanessa, Rosa, audball, & Jewels (in this post), who let us know that J.Crew updated its website (click here).
There are new arrivals for men (click here) & women (click here) & J.Crew Collection (click here).
In addition to having new arrivals for men and women, J.Crew also provided the latest catalog online (click here to view). :) There is a new men's-only catalog ("The Real Guide to Men's Style") too.
Also exciting, J.Crew updated the "As Seen In" link (click here). It now has the August & September magazines, that J.Crew items have been featured in. :)
As some of you have mentioned, J.Crew even updated their "Designer Gallery" link (featuring their several partnerships) in the women's section (click here) to include a few items from their sister store, Madewell.
As for the items, there are several "wants" I see! I love the Wool Herringbone Professor Blazer (item 17375; $198.00). The predecessor of this jacket is the lovely Double-Faced Wool Lexington Jacket (Item 85798; $250.00) from 2007. I am also crushing on the Abby Toe Cap Ballet Flats (Item 20331; $128.00). The Wool Felt Cloche (Item 22486; $34.50) looks absolutely darling!
There are also some items that are "no ways!" for me too. Again, the Linen-Silk City Pant (Item 20184; $98.00) tops the list. No matter how they style those {cropped!} pants, they don't look good. ;) Another item I am not feeling is the Silk Taffeta Belted Short (Item 20103; $118.00). Don't even get me started on the Sherling Jacket ($2,500) on page 38 of the catalog. Incidentally, I can't find that jacket's item page anywhere on the website. I wonder if they pulled the item altogether from their Collection.
Lastly, "thanks!" to Marietta & love2shop4bags who shared the email (shown below) J.Crew sent this morning with the subject line of: "New arrivals are here. In stores and online." It announces that the latest and greatest arrivals are here!
What items are you most excited about and why? Which items are you surprised to see? Which items did you hope would be included? Also, did you receive the latest catalog?
I'm glad to finally see some color! As usual, I like most of the coats and look forward to seeing them IRL. The styling in the catalog is insane, though - and for the most part quite unrealistic for my lifestyle. I used to style outfits directly from the catalog, but definitely won't be doing that this time around! :)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to JCA reviews of the new arrivals - congrats to those lucky enough to get the 20%/FS on them!
Silver_Lining: I couldn't agree with you more! I thought it was nice to see so many colors. However, I couldn't get over the styling. They really went over-the-top with some styles! ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat's going on with the Collection? Why are we half-naked for the holidays?
ReplyDeleteARL: LOL! I didn't know what to make of that "cover" for Collection either. ;)
ReplyDeleteThere was very little that grabbed my attention. I wish they get rid of the frayed edges on tees, they just do not hold up to multple washings (new tissue henley).
ReplyDeleteI am glad to see some color, but I do not like the 3.4 length in the tops, too cold for winter.
I like some of the pj bottoms but I am not paying $50.00.
I do not need outerwear having bought a coat last week. So my pocket book is happy anyways I am not supposed to be shopping until next year.
O/T I just received my sweater yesterday it already had a small hole in the seam. Boo JC your quality sucks.
I forgot to add I think the models poses are ridiculous!
ReplyDeleteI think the styling is going to layering extreme! it's insane in a good/bad way- looks great for the mag- but I'm wondering how I can translate it to real life. Oversized cardis with blazers? I've done it a few times just on the way to work and it looks weird in real life. Maybe it was because it was paired with a mini.
ReplyDeleteCasual Crew: I am so sorry to hear about your sweater having a hole! That's incredibly poor quality. :(
ReplyDeleteCari: Ha! Layering extreme is right! They got a bit carried away with the look. ;)
I am glad to see more color! Now I can put a few sweaters on my xmas list... :D
ReplyDeleteWhy is the model in the collection pictures mostly nude all the time? I can't speak for everyone, but I generally put on more than a long cardigan and platform heels when I leave the house. Generally.
ReplyDeleteITA with the comments about over the top styling ;)
Oh my goodness. I must have the Maya dress. Beautiful!!! (but a tad low-cut, dontcha think?)
ReplyDeleteI liked some of the new cardigans, and the stardust pencil skirt is pretty...but I can't think of where I would wear it.
I see the tie front cashmere cardis are back now that the sale is over....
ReplyDeleteWell, I do not know how you are not on my blogroll! I missed the 20% off sale that ended yesterday and I've had a cart full for a week! I also didn't realize that I have an account there but wasn't signed up for promotions. I am now.
ReplyDeleteAnd you are also on my blogroll now. Thanks!
re: collection sneak peak: my bf saw the pic of the model wearing the little red tie (with the button down shirt and bow tie skirt) and said, "what? is she working at bob evans?" lol. so much for your high end fashion editorial aspirations, Jenna! :P
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to see the return of the Cashmere Henley sweater. My version from last year has held up very well. I have to admit that the Sequin Glitterglass Tank caught my eye too. I didn't buy anything last night but I plan to soon.
ReplyDeletei'm also excited to see some color! i'm so glad they brought back the chunkier cambridge ribbed turtleneck sweater.
ReplyDeletei agree with you alexis, i am not feeling the satin pants or those shorts.
I am surprised by how large this rollout was as compared with the retail stores. There were quite a few items I liked, a couple I loved, and definitely some I did not like at all (yes, those silk pants, taffeta shorts, and the ryder handbag collection). I am also getting quite tired of the poses (I think one of the models does the same pose every time - right leg propped up a bit, wind in the hair, mouth slightly ajar) and all the overstyling and layering. I agree that it looks great in the catalog, but now every time I see a pose I do wonder, "Could I wear this whole outfit and not have my husband ask if I got dressed in the dark?" Most of the time, it's no.
ReplyDeleteOh, and do, I did not receive the latest catalog yet.
ReplyDeleteI'm sad the maya dress only comes in black and gray. Maybe the instore colors will be different? I'd love to get it in the amber color or even a rust color. I think I'm wishful thinking, but a girl can dream right?
ReplyDeleteThe Collection pictures looked so cheap to me--it's like they decided to mimic Express or something. Very strange approach when they're trying to sell their most expensive clothes! :)
ReplyDeleteThis roll out has been the most promising one of the year. I ended up ordering the blossom tee and all three colors of the herringbone professor blazer. The Abbey Toe Cap flats caught my eye too, but the lining and sole are not leather so it's a no-go for me. FYI when I ordered today (about 4am EST) SHOPFALL still worked.
ReplyDeleteI already got the Marled cardigan (which I love) in my B&M last Friday. I do see a couple of other cardigans and skirts online that I like, but nothing that I *must* have right now.
ReplyDeleteITA about the styling in the catalog and the collection pictures are just plain tacky, IMO.
i agree with others about those collection pictures. why no pants? why so much skin? it was borderline "gentleman's magazine" or victoria's secret imo.
ReplyDeleteI picked up two pencil skirts, the watercolor leopard and matelasse. That was it for me. No tops really caught my eye, I have so many sweaters and cardis that I'd only bite for something really unique. I love the sequin skirt but have no where to wear it! The only item I'm lusting after is the collection leopard cami. At $175 that's a bit out of my budget. Knowing the recent history of these collection tops, it will sell out long before I can pick it up on sale.
ReplyDeleteWhile scrolling through, I wouldn't have been able to tell that these were new pictures if some of the models didn't look as if their hair was brushed for once! Yea grooming! And I agree that the new colors are great to see.
ReplyDeleteThe only things I am lusting after are the Veronique mj's in the platinum gold (and bright azalea) and the marled cashmere cardi. It looks so thick, but no way in the world is half a car payment going to one sweater.
Not much of note, seems to be more of the same from past rollouts without much updating. Delicate, friable touches on things that get the most wear, like shoes and tees. I get fancy embellishments on a lovely sweater which would get treated with kid gloves, like the Dewdrop or Constellation cardis. But having to put on a smock before playing with my toddler or being anywhere near my cats for the sake of a cotton tee is too much. And as fun as it is to see dingle balls made of feathers on a shoe, I wouldn't make it to the car without ruining them. I know that hardier styles aren't in right now, but if the construction of these delicate styles could be made even remotely durable I'd be more of a fan.
Speaking of durability, I don't think that the new Maya dress will hold up too well. I like the style of the sweater well enough, but at 14 gauge it seemed really flimsy. JC made the dress out of the exact same fabric, which will most likely snag the first time someone sits while wearing it. Also, a dress that thin will show everything! Maybe they tried it in a thicker yarn and couldn't get the knot or drape right, I don't know.
Kind of OT, if anyone's interested in a cheap alternative to the Florence tee (that looks like sequiney wings) Victoria's Secret was doing a promo a couple days ago. If you buy something from the Pink collection, you get a white or black tee with stylized silver wings, similar to Florence, for free. To buy it by itself it was $29 or thereabouts.
Desert Flower, can't wait to hear what you think of the matelasse skirt IRL--it looks so pretty in the catalog!
ReplyDeleteI have to say that despite some of the blunders--the silk lounge pants, the shearling jacket--I was excited about this roll-out. I agree that the styling is over-the-top, but it's fun to look at and imagine what to pair with what.
I like several items but anxious to see them IRL for the the true test. Loving the chunky cambridge T-neck, Stadium Blvd Trench looks very nice (check out that bright bayberry color-very pretty and unusual.) They used the dried orchid color (purple) in various places and I think it so pretty with the greys, charcoals and denim. Also loved the mirrored clutch and the Crystal and Pearl Libretto necklace. Love the Marlene heels but their shoes don't fit me well. They need to improve the fit, materials and comfort to woo me back to that kind of money.
ReplyDeleteThere are most definitely some items on the site this AM that were not on there very late last night (when I ordered). They must have still been loading things or perhaps they were avoiding purchases with the "Fallsale" code?
Whaddya' make of the tuxedo chino's? Interesting concept to say the least.
Alexis, I hadn't noticed the darling cap-toe ballet flats. Those are precious! I think it's a rather unanimous vote on the things we all don't care for;)
Has anyone seen the wool lodge cardigan (item 20633) IRL? I've been looking for a sweater in that style for awhile, but it looks like it could be bulky and boxy.
ReplyDeleteI really like the chunky cableknit, colorblock cardigan, cashmere henley, and the pocket glimmer cardi. One disappointment though is that there isn't a patterned perfect shirt in a color mix other than black/white. I already have the Strada, and was hoping for another pattern in a lighter tone.
ReplyDeleteI didn't make it with the 20% off so I used the free shipping code-- I FINALLY got a pop-back in the tiny buds perfect shirt and the floral fan placket shirt, which may fly under the radar but is exactly the kind of things that I love from J. Crew and wear forever.
ReplyDeleteOT-For you taller, larger-sized JCAs, I'd be wary of J. Crew tights. I'm 5'9.5 and wear a size 12 in pants; I bought the leaf pointelle-stitch tights in M/L and could not pull them up above mid-thigh without tearing them. Some brands' M/L work for me; J. Crew's did not. So! Buy at your own risk.
MCC: yes, I would totally get the Maya dress if it came in Amber! I will be interested to see if it shows up in-store.
ReplyDeleteCheesyGoodness: Good point about the durability. I don't have the cardigan, but did see it in-store and thought it was a little flimsy. I'm looking forward to hearing some reviews of the dress when/if people start buying it.
I wish I had jumped online last night to order some of these with the 20% off! Yesterday I bought the professor jacket in gray, but now that I see the black one I really want it instead. I'm loving the new colors and I really like the chunkier cambrige cable t-neck. It's great that they brought back the cashmere henley (LOVE mine from last year) but I'm not sure I'm feeling the matching buttons. Part of what made it stand out so much last year was the contrasting brown buttons.
ReplyDeleteAlso, how can you all see the Collection items? I can't find a link anywhere on the site...
Looking forward to reviews of everything!
There are few sweater/jackets I'm liking. There are so many items that are dry clean or hand wash!
ReplyDeleteI like some of the flats but kind of pricey considering how JC shoes are uncomfortable for the most part.
I too had to laugh when I saw the satin/silk pants. I'm finding some of the models' poses annoying.
Just an fyi, some of the items available online are "pre-order" items if you call in your order. if that is the case, you can get free shipping on those items if you call in rather than shelling out $$$ for shipping costs. HTH!
ReplyDeleteI agree with most of the comments already, esp. the one about more colors (Tastymoog, I love that we both ADORE colors)...and the one about the odd Collection styling.
ReplyDeleteI have a kind of weird question...what happened to the Camino coat (double-breasted short double cloth coat)? I have already bought it, and as of two or three days ago, it was available on-line, but now, NADA. I have even tried its link from my polyvore item, and all it does is bring me back to the homepage. Also, any searching I do on the site itself leads me nowhere. Huh?
Anyone able to find it? It is such a nice coat, but I would be incredibly surprised to find that it sold-out.
I just ordered the maya dress and ruffle rose dress (in the weekend wear section). I wonder how the maya dress fits...I have one of the dream sweater dresses from last year but i think the maya is a much thinner wool than the dream. I ordered an xs which is what i got the dream dress in and I'm hoping it's not too small! Btw, for anyone who has one of Sydney dresses from this past summer, it looks great for fall/winter when you throw a blazer over it with tights and booties. I am trying to convert my summer dresses into winter as much as possible so I don't have to buy a ton of new stuff and so that my summer wardrobe isn't just sitting in my closet. Anyway, just thought I'd share!
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is EH. Jcrew has really worn me out. A few things are cute - but I'm not in love w/anything. The styling in the catalogs just gets more and more over the top! And so do the prices. The jewelry is pretty, but nothing practical. Sigh.....
ReplyDeleteAnyone see that crazy "bow" skirt from the Collection? Hideous!
ReplyDeleteSome very pretty things in general, though. I love catalogues this time of year -- gloves and hats and socks with pj pants...makes me want to sit & watch movies with a fire going and the snow falling :)
I have a pair of JC flannel pj pants that must be 15 years old at least. They're finally looking their age, with a hole forming around the back pocket. They're my favorites, though! And anyone remember those chunk stripped knit socks that they used as Christmas stockings in the catalogue? I still wear those too on a cold winter morning :)
Yeah! new arrivals! A couple items I have my eye on... I like the marzipan cardi in the deep aubergine (but all the colors are pretty) and the wool duffel coat in blackberry. Lots of other pretty things I'd like to try on.
ReplyDeleteI also purchased the Marled wool cardigan and the Ruffled Celosia cardigan in cinnamon spice at the b&m last week. I have worn them both already, and love love love!
ReplyDeleteAs far as what I'm possibly looking to purchase in the future:
Glimmer pocket cardigan
Graphic stripe forever cardigan
Merino stripe crewneck sweater
Alpaca long shawl cardigan
Classic-stripe tissue tee
Wool herringbone professor blazer
Velvet Eden blazer in tawny olive
Pippa patent peep toes
Veronique platform peep-toe Mary Janes
Marlene crisscross platform heels
Large patent campo in dark pewter
Twisted-rope necklace
Printed wool wrap
It's interesting that the Fiery Flower ring finally made it online, I bought mine at the b&m well over 3 months ago, and have worn it numerous times already. I also have the matching pendant necklace.
I am so over the embellished tees, and fraying chiffon! They don't hold up, and I won't even consider them on super sale. Also not liking the satin pants, Crystal supernova ring, Crystal cluster ring (which looks to be a cheaper version of the original, which I have and love), Evie ruffled top, Ruffled collier top, Tiered vintage fleur top, & Pleated Paulette top.
After the 20% off & FS, I am pretty shopped out right now, so I won't be looking to purchase anything for at least a month or so... while I like what's in my list, there's nothing that I "have to have" right now.
Does anyone know where that pretty top (worn under the cashmere v-neck henley) is? I don't see it online...any ideas? THANKS!
ReplyDeleteI noticed late last night as soon as the site was updated with the new arrivals that some previous fall arrivals were removed from the website - e.g. Double-cloth Camino coat. I spoke to the J Crew customer service this morning and they had no idea why these items were removed, although they showed that there were plenty in stock, but, unfortunately, could not place an order. What is the reason for removing the items, JCrew?
ReplyDeleteJust say "No" to the MC Hammer pants (linen silk city pants) That look died in the 80's for a reason and must stay dead. It must be close to Halloween because that look is seriously scary.
ReplyDeleteUhhh, nudity in J.Crew? That to me is offensive...way off their customer base. That's boarderline Victoria's Secret...You don't expect to see it at J.Crew!
ReplyDeleteNothing really jumped out at me--I was hoping to find something really smashing on which to blow my forthcoming rewards card.
ReplyDeleteIn particular, I was looking for an encore of last year's colorful suiting dresses. Even though the grape Metropolitan intrigues me it looks like that neckline might be difficult for the office--I doubt that the cowl will work under a jacket.
I am happy to see the cashmere henley again, but the only must-have for me was the crewcuts faux fur vest.
ReplyDeleteagain not liking the styling - the collection styling of spring even with the unhappy model(or so we thought then) was leaps and bounds better than the missing-pants look.
Ew, and can I second the objections to the lad-mag styling on the Collection items? WT*? These poses are not going to induce me to spring for a Collection piece.
ReplyDeleteLove the glimmer pocket cardi and marled wool cardi as well as the metro 120 dress.
ReplyDeleteWhat's up with all these capri pants for fall/winter. It's barely going to be 45 degrees in my neck of the woods today. I don't get that. Ditto for all the short sleeve t's. I'm freezing just thinking about it.
I think the Collection styling is sorta amusing! They're clearly showcasing the items in question, sort of a contrast to their usual over-layered styling, no?
ReplyDeleteIt will be in the low 90s here today, so I for one am glad that J Crew does make some short sleeve items as well as the thin voile buttonfronts many JCAs keep complaining about.
ReplyDeleteI want the patterned Evie top and a couple of the merino cardis.
I like the pretty double cloth trench we were all admiring from the early pictures last week, but wonder how it will look unbuttoned IRL. Still it is very pretty in the wine color....
Audrey, I second you on the teeny tights! I ordered two pr. last year, final sale of course, of the wool blend and just looking at them I knew they'd be too small. With the wool, they weren't very stretchy. I held them next to a pr. of my size 0/2 mom's and they were the same length and width! I love tights, especially when they're made well. I have two pair from ON from 8 years ago, a black and a grey, that are still going strong. I think they were like $.97, I wish I'd bought ten pair of each.
ReplyDeleteSo I'm thinking of ordering the Vintage Forest and Warm Burgundy cardigans and the Elsbeth Oxfords. Has anyone seen the Oxfords? How do they look? Are they cute and 50's like or mannish?
ReplyDeleteMichigan JCA's: I am going to either Twelve Oaks, Briarwood or Somerset this weekend...can anyone tell me who has the most new arrivals? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteDid the zebra shirt already sell out in Crewcuts? One of the models is wearing it in the intro... can't find it anywhere :(
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see this lacy layered cami/top, shown under the scholboy blazer:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.jcrew.com/AST/Browse/WomenBrowse/Women_Shop_By_Category/jacketsblazers/jacketsblazers/PRDOVR~21614/21614.jsp
It's been pictured with other items, but haven't seen it up for sale yet!!
yowza--that lace cami already came out and sold out. it was a collection piece, and sold for $795, i think.
ReplyDeleteon another note, am i crazy for wanting the patent madewell oxfords? i'm also picking up the boiled wool cardigan in both colors, the golden fringe necklace, the double-cloth boulevard in wine, the duffel coat in olive, and the men's camp socks. whew!
I don't usually pay attention, so where does this rollout place? Is it late fall, holiday, or just the first part of holiday? TIA!
ReplyDeleteI'm mostly underwhelmed, though I do love the vintage forest color in the cashmere and the spiced cinnamon in the merino. For me, otherwise, a lot of these pieces are missing the "coziness" I associate with holiday J.Crew.
Totally OT, but I just came back from the Prince Street b&m (NY). They had the Farrow Bow Top in cream on sale for $19.99 (I saw sizes 0. 4, 6, 8), the Bouquet Cotton top in sage green & cream for $19.99 (sizes 0, 2, 4, 6, 8), and the cotton corsage cardi in breeze, amethyst, and navy for $29.99, pretty much all sizes. I finally caved and picked up the Farrow.

ReplyDeletemusthavejcrew, Somerset is rad! Huge store, some shoes, and crewcuts. That location is much bigger than the other two so more likely to have more of the new rollout. Briarwood has some very nice SAs, and the store always looks nice, and is clean and organized, but if you can only hit one I'd go for Somerset, especially since there's an Anthro there too. Somerset is one of my favorite places in Michigan to people watch, have a great time!
ReplyDeleteOh, and the Michigan game is at home on Saturday, so you may not want to come into Ann Arbor for your shopping this weekend, anyway.
ReplyDeleteI called CS about sizing for hosiery that only comes in two sizes: small-medium and medium-large. CS said both sizes are the same, only the medium-large is 2 inches longer. I ordered the solid opaque tights (97788) in charcoal in M/L. I am 5'9 1/2" and wear a size 4 in J.crew pants and skirts. The color and fabric looks great and the fit feels great too.
ReplyDeleteDoes j.crew not realize there are those of us who are petite? I'd have been interested in both the Oona skirt and the watercolor leopard skirt, but 24 inches = dowdy on me, and shortening doesn't work well with a slit. It doesn't seem like j.crew does much in petite sizes.
ReplyDeleteI bought the professor blazer in black; I have it in the gray, and I love, love, love it! I really like the new stuff, and I have a long, long list of things to buy!!!
ReplyDeleteDid anyone else notice that Jackie's price moved 2.5 bucks up. Weird. Is it adjusted for inflation? :)
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI adore the new bisous cashmere sweater but am concerned about sizing. If anyone out there gets it in the near future, please report back on fit!
ReplyDeleteTIA!
you have got to be kidding me. the quality issues are getting worse and the prices and designs are the same. in the case of the professor blazer, i have the lexington from 2007 and the quality is FAR superior to the professor. i saw the professor in store and thought it was cute but the wool is cheap and thin compared to the near exact same jacket from two years ago. my fashion challenged significant other agreed. i do remember the lexington was $250 and went on promotion to &198.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with the cashmere henley. I loved the tort type buttons.
ReplyDeletejcbellemarie: DITTO on that VEST! I almost fell over-it's so darn cute!
I really like the ingenue coat in dusty blossom but decided to wait for it to go on sale. The roll out is ok, but nothing too exciting.
ReplyDeleteSo, I called my b&m to ask them to hold some items until I can get there on Saturday. No new women's items - not since Saturday. Where they had very few of the new items that are now online. :( Why??? Crewcuts new arrivals come tomorrow, along with mainly restock and maybe 1 or 2 new arrivals. Bummer.
ReplyDeleteSo, the items I'm interested in, but will need to try most on to know for sure:
watercolor evie
crinkle chiffon ruffle cardi
glimmer pocket cardi
luxe cocktail bracelet - already saw IRL and love
strada ruffle cardi
shirred v-neck sweater
cashmere henley - really wish I'd bought one last year, so may have to spring for one this year
Two Crewcuts items I will buy one way or another on Saturday - I wish I loved some of the women's items as much as I love these
girls' cotton ruffle skirt dress
girls' layered cake skirt
OT - ATL's new arrivals are online today also and there are some cute things! I'm going there tonight - wish JC was as close
Hey guys,
ReplyDeleteI tried looking for the wool ruffle front coat in camel but it doesn't seem to be available in that color anymore. Does this mean it sold out :( I know it had been on backorder for a while too...
Yeah, what's the deal with the Jackie's going up in price?
ReplyDeletemodern antique- Thanks for the measurements-- I'm not sure why they just don't call the sizes "small" and "less small"... Anyway, the tights look great, so I'm glad you're able to enjoy yours!
ReplyDeleteSorry, slightly OT - does anyone have any experience with Garnet Hill's cashmere? They have a "Ballet-Wrap Sweater" that looks awesome....but I figured JCAs would know the score on GH cashmere.
ReplyDeleteYou can see it here: http://www.garnethill.com/jump.jsp?itemType=PRODUCT&RS=1&itemID=12207&fromNewSearch=true&mercadoResultId=0
tia!
Ook! The photos for the Collection pieces are so trashy. I hate that orangey lipstick.
ReplyDeleteI agree the Collection photos are bit crazy- they just seemed to be trying too hard or something??
ReplyDeleteBut I LOVE The sequin shell jacket- $495 and not available until December:( Not that I really have anywhere to wear this anytime soon but it is gorgeous!
ITA with nomoneyfun. The Lexington jacket is thick, gorgeous wool. The professor is thin wool like on an express skirt I got for $9.99 at Gabriel Brothers. Come on, JCrew... get with it. Oh and the Lexington came in fun JCrew colors, which seem to be few and far between on anything but cashmere sweaters and tees these days. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteMichelle - what size do you need in the wool ruffle front coat in camel? I have one that I was planning on returning today but can sell it to you if it's the right size!
ReplyDelete(I do see it the color on the website however... most sizes still on BO for it though).
Dorothy, I have a couple cashmere sweaters from Garnet Hill. I don't think the quality is great - thin and not very soft. But some of the styles are fun and the colors are nice, so it may be worth it if you can get a good price. Also, they run HUGE, huger than J. Crew even.
ReplyDelete^Exactly my finding.
ReplyDeleteTrashy is not too strong a word for the new Collection slideshow photographs. I sent an e-mail to J.Crew letting them know it is trashy, off-putting, and disappointing.
ReplyDeleteI love the blazer with white creme color trim and the warm and dark berry color cardigans! Must have *SOON! Does JCrew do anything for cardholders during their birthday month?
ReplyDeletejust got the catalog in the mail (they sent the last two in envelopes, so maybe my numerous emails about not getting catalogs finally worked). i like some items, but i'm beyond pissed that they're selling furs now. cruel and disgusting.
ReplyDeletetotally agree with the comments about the trashy collection pics. half naked women with their mouths hanging open is off putting.
I just looked through my catalog and found a 15% off PLUS free shipping code in it. It is one time use, and you have to spend on any american express cc. Anyone else get something like this? Mine was between pages 20 and 21.
ReplyDeleteI've heard of things like these in catalogs before, but never seen one myself so I was very happy to find it when I turned the page!
Alexis-
ReplyDeleteHere is the link for the $2500 Shearling coat. I actually adore the color and the soft outline of the fur. Not so much on the price.

Ashley
For those of you (Camino Cloth Coat) experiencing "disappearing" items, I was looking for the Vintage Serge Spy Trench and it couldn't be found - just sent me to the home page. After 2 days I'd given up and moved on to pondering the Stadium Cloth Trench in Bayberry or possibly Navy (although I wear a lot of denim so perhaps bright color? Thoughts) Tonight I was on the site and lo - the Serge Spy is back. Back to pondering. I would say when in doubt, call.
ReplyDelete
