J.Crew has made being a fan a bit sweeter! If you become a fan of J.Crew's Facebook page (click here to visit) they will give you a little something something in the form of a free shipping code.
J.Crew already does a similar offer when you sign up to receive J.Crew's email promotions. Typically, the offer is for free shipping on orders of $150+.
I am already a "fan" so I got nothing. ;) However, I am curious for those new fans what the free shipping code will be for (no minimum?, with a minimum?, what amount?).
Are you already a fan of J.Crew's Facebook page? If not, are you planning to sign up? If so, please let us know what special something you get! :)
I am already a fan as well, and got nothin'.
ReplyDeleteI signed up but haven't received any free shipping code.
ReplyDeleteI was already a fan months ago but I got nothing. Compared to other retailer's Facebook page J.Crew's is not exciting. Nothing going on much there as in offers or special offerings.
ReplyDeleteI just signed up and didn't get any code, either. Now I'm annoyed with J.Crew. This is perhaps a less than ideal marketing strategy.
ReplyDeleteNothing for me as well.......
ReplyDeleteI've been a fan for several months, so far it's pretty much been a nonevent. For free shipping codes for me either.
ReplyDeletenothing for me either. That's pretty lame :(
ReplyDeleteHaha. It should read, we have a little something for you...free shipping. It rhymes with LEAD BONE...aka RED PHONE...deceptive, jcrew, deceptive.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that the free shipping post disappears from their page once you become a fan, I think I'm going to contact CS and find out the scoop on this. Wierd.
ReplyDeleteWell I also got nothing and then tried to place an order and in the process added a new credit card to my account online and it has been telling me 'this card is already selected' and won't let me continue on through the order process. This kind of thing is SO infuriating and seems to happen to me whenever I make any kind of change to my account info online. Sort of tends to make me want to bag the whole $300+ order, esp because if I call I know it's hit or miss if I get a polite or not so polite customer service rep on the phone. Sorry to vent :)
ReplyDeleteI just become a fan and did not a get a code. I noticed people (well, one person...) are posting on the page asking what's up.
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad because I am about to place an order!!
Yay! So excited :) Thank goodness for social networking! Xo
ReplyDeletebecame a fan and...nothing. no free shipping. lame. disappointed YET AGAIN in jcrew.
ReplyDeleteNothing for me either, Boooo
ReplyDeleteI know this is off the subject, but since everyone else is venting I thought I would add. I have placed several orders over the past week (I know I buy a lot) and have had a total of SIX items that were later canceled by J Crew because they did not have enough inventory. When I spoke to a CS rep she said that sometimes when they pack orders, they don't have enough inventory. Just wondering if anyone else was having this issue. I now hate logging into my email for fear of receiving another "News About Your Order" email from J. Crew!
ReplyDeleteSlightly off topic, but since we're complaining about the Facebook page...I've been entering the daily sweepstake and that seems to have issues too. It says you'll get another turn if you enter a friend, but when I entered a friend's email address it just thanked me for playing and did not give an extra turn. Some days you get a trivia question, some days you do not. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteI had the same problem too. I become a fan and got no code. So what I did was play around with quessing what it might be and lo and behold I got it right haha. The code is "FBFAN" and it's good for free shipping with no minimum.
ReplyDeletechelan, you are GENIUS
ReplyDeleteI meant chelar, sorry.
ReplyDeleteOh, thanks Chelar!! It works! :)
ReplyDeleteI am not on Facebook and have wondered whether there were any benefits from becoming a reatiler's fan. Guess not....
ReplyDeleteYay, didn't join the fan (I don't use FB) but bought the crystal symphony bracelet w/free shipping! Anyone know how many times this can be used and when it ends?
ReplyDeleteNICE! I also became a fan but got no code...well done, Chelar, well done!
ReplyDeleteJust got a couple of $9.99 Deco patent leather belts...nothing major, but love having free shipping on such a small item. These are my first j.crew belts...any thoughts on them?
Thanks Chelar!
ReplyDeleteElizabeth - same thing happened to me a few times. The last time put me over the edge. I called CS and was told that at the time of my order placement the items were available, however, my order was filled after the other orders placed (and they would know that HOW?) and now the items aren't available. I asked to be placed on a wait list and was told that they don't do that. Nice customer service. It's really unfortunate and makes me not want to shop with J.Crew.
Thanks, Chelar! Worked like a charm.
ReplyDeleteThank you Chelar! Didn't become a fan but also just purchased a patent Deco Belt with the code. It's the best getting free shipping with no min.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth - yeah, I've had that happen. Sometimes they just cancel it and there's nothing you can do about it. Some items, though, go out of stock and I'm automatically "Waitlisted" for the item. Then it is truly a months-long waiting game to see if the item actually gets back in stock & ships. I lucked out yesterday - got some sale cords for $15.90 (with 20% off) that had been literally waitlisted for *months*. At the time of the order, they supposedly had been "in stock" - I think the only reason they came back is because they're a staple every-year item, and they had to restock them eventually. For other "one-off" items, it seems to be just the luck of the draw.
Thanks Chelar, good work! I was hoping to use this if anything good came up during this morning's update, but no such luck. Am I missing things, or have sale restocks have been wicked lame in the last couple weeks?
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, that's happened to me many times, and it's always a bummer. It just happened to me last week with a sweater, and I requested that they substitute a similar item for the price I paid, which had been a solution a CS rep suggested last year, which I've taken them up on two or three times since then. This time though, they said that's not policy, and they'd only REFUND shipping if I ordered a replacement item. Of course i declined to order anything else at that time, I was very taken aback. I hope you have better luck getting what you wnat/need out of JC, it can really be a crapshoot.
Just wondering if anybody has tried the heather carbon schoolboy blazer~~ it's sold out in 0 and 2 everywhere so I haven't been able to try it on, but fyi the long boyfriend blazer runs a size large.
ReplyDeleteIt worked for me this AM. Got some earrings I've been waiting to buy--I hate paying shipping on small items, so this was great. Thanks Chelar for your detective work :)
ReplyDeletechelar,
ReplyDeleteYou are awesome:) I hope you have a great Sunday and wonderful week:)
I echo the other comments made... thank you *so* much Chelar!!! That's fantastic!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI was about to post that news on the main page, but I am now hesitating based on past experience. What do you all think?
if i were you, i would just keep in on this thread....:)
ReplyDeleteAlexis, since you are asking...Keep it on this thread please. Need to learn from past experiences....IMO.
ReplyDeletemrs. anketell & Genny: I agree. I won't post it. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree. I think people who are actual fans of the JCA blog (and not a lurker who has their own blog..) will read the comments section and be able to benefit.
ReplyDeleteAnd others can email their JCA friends etc. and let them know...we can all spread the word to each other:)

ReplyDeleteThanks Amy, Diana Draw, and CheesyGoodness for your comments. It's nice to know I am not the only one that gets those disappointing emails. I have seen some of my "cancelled" items popback on the website and I have snagged them since I have been one of the lucky ones with the free shipping code on any amount that lasts through the end of the month. Guess I can't complain too much.
ReplyDeleteamazing work chelar! i love free shipping but would love a 20% off even more since i seem to be ordering more crewcuts these days.
ReplyDeleteOT: How is the silk pleated posy top fitting those who have tried it? TTS or size down??? I wear an 8 in the Francis but a 6 in the garland from summer. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteAppGal, I love that belt, and I'm not a belt girl. I hope you like it, too. (The avocado is a great color - did you get that one?)
ReplyDeletethank you thank you! i ordered the deco patent belt and the always cardigan! i would order so much more if they had these free shipping codes w/ no minimums!
ReplyDeleteOrdered the crystal thornbush earrings, stone sherpa hoodie, and grey glittens (and the symphony bracelet yesterday!)
ReplyDelete:P
A little late but I've also had items cancelled on me. Twice. In one week. I'd been stalking the Lomellina bikini sets forever, and when they finally popped back in my size I snagged them, only to get the dreaded email that my bottom had been cancelled. So when CS offered me the free shipping for a replacement, I picked up a close enough replacement (with a couple of add-ons, naturally, for the FS). And they've just cancellled me again. What do you want me to do, J Crew? Walk around the beach in only a top?
ReplyDeleteYay! I just bought another pair of cafe capris for 19.99! Thanks Chelar!
ReplyDeleteheidi -
ReplyDeleteyes, the outlet stuff is usually made just for the outlet. every now and then there is old store stuff.
This code no longer worked for me today when I tested it out on a mock check out. I did get to use it twice yesterday. Hope others did too:)
ReplyDeleteWhat is with a one day code? I can see a one time use code but a one day code??? That is just plain mean JCrew!
ReplyDeleteI just signed up and damn i got a code...first time they ever gave me anything....
