As mentioned in the October 24 "Become a Fan of J.Crew's Facebook Page" post, J.Crew offered free shipping for becoming a fan. However, many JCAs reported receiving nothing after becoming a fan (or as an existing fan).
"Thanks!" to JR who let us know that if you become a fan -or- are an existing fan of J.Crew's Facebook page (click here), you will see a new code being offered on J.Crew's wall. J.Crew is offering free shipping (no minimum) with promo code JCADDICT. This offer expires 10/29/09. {wahoo!}
Happy shopping! :)
Alexis, THANK YOU for posting this! I just purchased the silk sonnet blouse in fresh plum using this code and my rewards card. Still cost $49 but I love the look of this blouse and in case the sizing is off, would rather purchase before it goes on final sale. I ordered my usual "vanity" size of 4, does anyone have this blouse and can comment on the sizing?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the code - I just ordered the trouser cords with free shipping! Yippee!
ReplyDeleteHappy for others who find things:) But why couldn't this code happen when the sale section was good! Appreciate the post though. Better hurry before JC pulls it though.
ReplyDeleteFinally! It's about time they had a reward for loyal customers. But why the short time limit? Anyone else think they might release a few new things on Fri after the code ends?
ReplyDeleteOT, got my reward card in the mail yesterday. :) It expires on 12/15, enough time to use it towards a Xmas present.
ReplyDeleteIMO this is not a reward for loyal customers. It is for becoming a fan on facebook. Nice we can use it thought without joining Facebook:)
ReplyDeleteEC: I have the silk sonnet blouse in champagne, and I too got my usual size 4. I found it TTS. It has a "blouse-y" fit, if you know what I mean. Like it's loose in the body (looser than on the model), but sizing down would not work for me because the shoulders and bust are perfect. If you have narrow shoulders and a small bust then maybe you should size down, but in all likelihood your usual size will work. I like this blouse a lot ... wait til you see the collar IRL; it's gorgeous :) I hope that helps!
ReplyDeletelilac cupcake, THANK YOU so much! I have the opposite of narrow shoulders and a small bust so sounds like my regular size will work. Oooh I am so glad you like it, too. I have high hopes now and I can't wait til it arrives!
ReplyDeleteI think I'll get the Gold and crystal-cluster bracelet with this code. Does anyone out there have it? I'm just hoping it is not big and tacky in person.
ReplyDeleteWho would have thought that a day would come with such a wonderful shipping code and I can't find anything I want to buy.
ReplyDeleteGenny - now that I think about it, you're totally right. It's not for loyal peeps, but it's nice that we can use it without having to FB fan.
ReplyDeleteThanks to Alexis for posting the code!
YAYY! I'm not ordering anything, but that's awesome!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting, Alexis! I bought the stone and avocado deco patent belts the other night when the FBFAN code was still working. I love them so much that I bought one in the black color this morning with the new code. No minimum codes are the BEST when all you want is a small, inexpensive single item!
ReplyDeleteI'm already a facebook fan, but didn't see any mention of the promo...maybe I'm not looking in the right place?
OT - does anyone have the vintage matchstick cord in shadow? Usually J.Crew's shadow color is gray-navy but it looks to be gray in the swatch online, without any blue undertones. Can anyone confirm the color is gray or gray-navy?
ReplyDeleteTIA
Thanks Alexis! Nice to see FS without a min. I'll use this for the boot promo :)
ReplyDeleteOT, was in B&M today and the sale section had lots of what has been on sale for awhile. There was lots of jewelry, including the mushroom necklace someone posted about here earlier this fall for $30.
another reason why this blog def rules....J.Crew we love you but your such a sheister...this way we got tabs on you always!
ReplyDeleteShuluvr - the shadow is a really dark navy, with smokey gray tones (if that makes any sense). It almost looks black from a distance.
ReplyDeleteI may get something with this code.
OT - The cashmere henley I ordered came today and it is AWESOME! Soft, light weight and cool neckline. Sleeves are a little long, but it makes it "slouchy" I guess hahaha. I heard from an SA that they will be hitting stores with the next rollout (next week).
Thanks for posting this code Alexis, I was able to use it today. Just to show how much the extra charges impact the price I'll give the details of my single-item order, shipping to Canada.
ReplyDeleteJackie Shell $42.00
Shipping and Handling $13.50
Tax $10.04
Total $66.04
Of course I got free shipping with this order, saving me $13.50 but if I didn't have the code, the additional charges on top of the item price would be $23.54, more than 50% of the item price.
Many Canadians on this blog and others have reported that they have advised J.Crew that they are overcharging the customs and duty fees at 26% but they have not adjusted their fees. Between that and the shipping it's a little ridiculous sometimes. Not that it stops me from purchasing but it does diminish what I buy from J.Crew vs. seeking out a comparable item at local stores.
End of griping for now. I really appreciate free shipping or any discount promo and I'm so thankful for your wonderful blog.
Great news about the code. Thanks, Alexis!
ReplyDeleteEC, I got the sonnet blouse too and love it! The plum color is fabulous. I did size down even if the shoulder blade area was a little snug. (I always have issue with narrow shoulders in JCrew merchandise anyway.) It would have been too blousen (wide) otherwise and the sleeves too long. If JCrew would add a little spandex to their fabric content, it would make sizing in some things so much easier, if not more comfortable, and put less stress on pressure points.

ReplyDeleteAlexis, THANK YOU so much for posting this code! Just another reason why this blog and JCAs are so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteMy SA informed me that the new rollout will be on the floor next Tuesday and that it is the 1st of 2 holiday roll outs. I also believe there will be new markdowns this weekend prior to the sale;)
ReplyDeleteLove the no min free ship, but there is Nothing in my cart! This is a 1st for me. And yes I also noticed that the Eden is back to Full price as is the Manor necklace- it was $39 last week and now is back to $128- very confused by this?
Off Topic but just received a box today containing one of my favorite items this rollout- item #20376- The Merino Striped sweater in Navy-SO flattering and cute. FYI- it appears to be sold out online, but I believe most stores still have some.
Yay, they finally restocked the perfect fit grosgrain ribbon tee in plum raisin & I got free shipping. Thanks :)

ReplyDeletexoxo: There is a hidden brokerage fee in there as well, JC is using Worldease and that cost is passed on to us. Just to add if the item is made in the US I found out by experience the system will adjust the duties automatically, and you will be charged the lesser amount, if you ask JC about this they are clueless!
ReplyDeleteHeidi: Was the jacket on promo or FS? If it was on promo it is normal for the price to go back up, and it is not unique to JC GAP and BR does it too, if it was fs than Boo JC!
Cleo26, I totally agree that they need to put a little spandex in with their silk blouses. I have some silk blouses from Express (which of course I got at Marshalls for $7.99, I wish I could find JCrew stuff that cheap!) and they have a little spandex... makes them so much easier to wear! Especially in light of the delicate nature of the fabrics JCrew uses... spandex would make me less nervous about wearing and damaging my clothes!
ReplyDeleteI got a phone call from an SA at the Beachwood, OH store telling me I got a $25 rewards card and that they are getting new merchandise on Monday. Well, already spent my reward but maybe I'll go check out the new stuff next week.
I'm going to an outlet this weekend in NY, has anyone been to an outlet lately? Anything on clearance yet?
Thank you for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteAlexis, thanks so much for the post, I scored some 5 pocket cords and a navy shirt. All for under $50.
ReplyDeleteJust got the Maya cardigan and the beaded necklace tee! The maya cardi is back-ordered until 12/12, but I'd rather get it in with the free shipping code and wait a while.
ReplyDeleteOT -- Does anyone have the cotton Tuxedo shirt? The description says it is "boyfriend fit" and "slightly oversized". Did you size down with this one? I'm a size 2 in Perfect shirts...should I take a 0 in this one?
ReplyDeleteAlexis,
ReplyDeleteMany many thanks for the code! I had a couple of small items to pick up and wouldn't have done it without the code! Yeah!
I used the code to pick up another 3/4-sleeve stretch shirt, this one in light pewter. I bought the warm riviera color a few months ago and it fit so perfectly, I decided that I'd get more when they went on sale. Definitely worth $29.99.
ReplyDeleteFYI - ATL is having 40% off their sale right now. Picked up the Victoria striped look alike (l/s) for about $19.
ReplyDeleteRegular AT is also having extra 40% off of sale, and Gap, babyGap, and Gapkids were all doing an extra 25% off.
ReplyDeleteThe extra off and all the good word spread by JCAs brought me into AT with a more open mind, and I was really pleasantly surprised. My mall doesn't have the more casual Loft which would be more up my alley, but all the pretty dressy goodies looked to be great quality and the sale prices were great. I got a beautiful cashmere blend long cardi that looks good over dresses for less than twenty bucks, so I'm happy that I ventured out of my shopping comfort zone.
I didn't use JC's free ship code since there's nothing I really want, for once! There wasn't anything that I went crazy over instore that I saw when I did my returns yesterday.
Has anyone tried the new perfect fit cardigan? Would love to hear thoughts on it...
ReplyDeleteWow. I just checked my account to see if I was close to getting a rewards card. Ha! I couldn't believe it.
ReplyDeleteAside from a couple of things that I picked up last week, I have not purchased anything from JCrew since June. And I live within walking distance of a B&M.
Shulvr: I have the Shadow matchsticks they are more grey than navy, closer to the cement color of last years cords.
ReplyDeleteThe code is still working this early am, I ordered another pair of matchstick jeans.
Appgal: I ordered the Perfect-fit Cardigan. The material, seems a little thinner and stretchier than the shirts. Also, in the navy I can see some threads showing through the back of the cardi where they sewed the tag.
ReplyDeleteMy size in Perfect fit tees is size small. The cardi fits tts on me. The sleeves are nice and long and it hits me about 2-3" past my hip. I tried it in my regular size small and also one size larger in medium. I tried the medium so I could button it around my hips but the fit was too big at the arm holes. Definitely can't wear much under it. The fit reminds me of the Portland Cardi from last year. I thought I was going to love it but I don't...it's just okay. (I'm not real positive as I'm kind of feeling 'blah' about alot of the basics this year. Maybe I'll wish I had one in the spring.)
Wow, I tried the code this a.m. and it didn't work for me. Luckily I remembered I had the one time use code they emailed earlier this month, which expires Nov. 1st.
IRL: Thanks SO much for the review! I really like the bright hydrangea color, but based on your review, perhaps it would be better to get it in the Forever cardi instead. I love perfect fit tee material, but it doesn't seem like the type of material that would translate into a perfect cardi.
