I seem to have quality issues with almost all my shorts. Very frustrating. Zippers not sipping properly, hems coming undone.
ReplyDeleteLast year I purchased the Paper bag short Item K1514 which are perfect for these days. I don’t wash or dry them often and mostly on delicate. The hem stitching is so poorly done that yesterday I noticed a long thread down my leg and before I even realized what it was the hem started falling.
The material on my black poplin tie waist shorts ripped and the zippers don’t zip well.
The side zip trouser cut shorts seem to have better hem stitching but the zippers can be problematic. I feel like many of these could be found at discount stores under a different label for much less money. I just wish they’d last more than a season without needing repair or to be tossed.
Styled the embroidered farmer's market dress and fringe straw hat on the blog yesterday. Dress runs large -- size 1-2 sizes down. Wearing the hat in a size small/medium. I have a pretty small head, and hats tend to be big on me. This one fits perfectly and arrived nicely packed and undamaged. It was $20 a day or two ago, which is a steal.

Deletei don't think i single one of my orders has come anywhere near when it was supposed to. i'd chime in on the mask review but i can't. they were routed to the wrong post office and now have been sitting in my local post office for 5 days. this is so frustrating. i wanted to split the masks and give some to my parents when i saw them this past weekend.

ReplyDeleteI fit it my 'usual' S, I am a 4 or 6 in tops, tending towards a 6. It is boxy, but that's the style.

DeleteSilk Tunic in Paisley Swirl- color is a lot more saturated than on the website, predominant color is a deep rosy violet, not that pale petal pink that almost looks white. It also only hits at low hip as other reviewers point out- 25 inch length is just a normal length top! Shape was loose and flowy but not boxy. A like for me, but not a love.
ReplyDeleteMidi skirt in Wiltshire floral- trust the reviews and size up, if not UP UP! I'm normally a 2 or 4 in skirts at J. Crew and the 6 was workable but still snug at the waist. I did not find the skirt flattering at all, just too much fabric and it didn't seem to fold into nice loose pleats, just kinda poofed around me and made me look like a huge-hipped triangle. It's a shame because I love Liberty prints and it has pockets!!!
Margot sweater- Wool is not nearly as soft as a Tippi; I really hope the Tippi comes back in a zillion colors in the fall because this is NOT a staple replacement for me. Proportions felt off- with the long sleeves I wanted the body of the sweater to be at least an inch or two longer.
V-neck cardigan in neon stripe- The navy and violet are true to color on the screen but the pink is a screaming neon hot pink in real life- believe the title, not the pictures! The sweater didn't seem to be pulling or fit tight but the placket bubbled between the buttons for me when buttoned up. But the worst was the fabric. I did not know cotton could feel so stiff and scratchy. Immediate return.

ReplyDeleteItem AP185 Dolman Sleeve Mini Dress in Lakshmi block print? I love short dresses just not sure about the maroon color in the print as well as the style. Thoughts anyone?
ReplyDeleteI hadn't noticed that dress until you mentioned it. I really like the print and the colors. I know monitors can be different; on my screen it's more of a dark cherry red. I think it could make a cute summer option. Let us know if you try it.

The turquoise and poppy-esque print make it look like a 3D print or the artwork popular in 90s where if you stare at a dot print long enough, you see another image? I forget what those were called. I don't love the silhouette. It doesn't look tailored - it's essentially a loose shift with a thick waist belt.

Delete@eeps, Mygoddy, I was concerned about this too, sort of hippie effect which I really don’t like. I am going to pass and see if anyone else decides to purchase it and await feedback. I also don’t care for the dark cherry in there, I do like the pink and the blue background though.
