J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  2. I didn’t see anything that I really like, was hoping for a better rollout. I really thought the last rollout looked promising. Hopefully there will be another rollout in June.

    2. Same here. No temptations there for me. That's probably a good thing.

    3. I was hoping for a cute summer dress too. Also hoping madras will make an appearance.

    4. @Jan: I would love to have a nice quality, great fitting, madras blazer in some bright colors. A "lady jacket" style might be fun too. Add in some madras Kiki flats made in Italy with leather soles. Oh, and how about an Edie bag from back in the day in a nice kelly green. Very wishful thinking....

    5. @MmeJacqueline, let’s keep our fingers crossed! Seems like it would be a nice preppy offering and something JCrew could do well.

  3. @jan, Hi Jan I agree but I went ahead and ordered the Seersucker Striped boy shirt AN770 to see what the quality is like. Other than that I wasn’t impressed. I received the cardigan embellished sweater in Navy Item AK181 and it is so thin so it’s going back. Certainly nowhere near the quality of the old jcrew embellished sweaters. Again very thin and scratchy and certainly not a good quality cotton in my humble opinion. Have a great day up there in Canada. I’m flying back home to Monaco Thursday but will continue to follow the blog here. Hope you find some good deals and are able to visit the Jcrew stores south of your border.

    1. Hi Lynn, I hadn’t noticed that seersucker shirt, it looks very nice. I love seersucker. I wonder if it would work with your Ratti pants or maybe the texture wouldn’t?
Have a safe trip back to Monaco! Glad that you’ll be sticking around on the blog. 😊

    2. @jan, thanks so much, great suggestion. Will try them on together and report back here. In the meantime I purchased another slightly oversized thin striped shirt in cotton and silk from another brand. It’s a beautiful silky fabric but too oversized. I’m really looking forward to finally going home and thank you for the well wishes and the same for you. I love your comments and appreciate them so very much.

    1. @Lynn: Thanks for sharing your opinion on this sweater. It was very disappointing. Honestly, I don't think that I have ever seen a sweater that thin in my entire life. I know that I've never owned one. My sequined Jackie's that are 100% merino wool are so much better--even though they are not what I would call substantial. Compared to this recent version, they are downright heavy!

    2. @MmeJacqueline, I’m smiling as I am typing reply. Again, always appreciate your feedback and the truth. Perhaps one day the company will return to producing gorgeous well made items as a whole. Until then......

  5. I received the collection lady jacket in gold tweed (AJ039), and I didn't even try it on. It is way too metallic, bright, and shiny for me. I didn't inspect it for quality, so I can't speak for that aspect either. The box is closed up and ready to go back.

  6. OT, but today I received my Stubbs & Wooton needlepoint slippers from the spring sale, to which S&W also kindly applied the 20% Memorial weekend discount and free shipping. They are lovely house shoes, and I expect to wear them for years. I did size up 1 full size from my smaller shoe size, 1/2 from my larger. They are a comfortable fit perfect for at home.

    1. I love the S&W needlepoint shoes. I have a few pairs, and I find them to be much more comfortable than the velvet ones.

    2. @MmeJacqueline, I prefer them as well. They have had so many on sale recently for 50% off. If you deal with the Palm Beach store ask for Cynda. I’ve posted before she was a long term relationship employee at the Palm Beach Gardens store here in Fl. Mention my name but she will take excellent care of you with or without the mention.

    3. @Lynn: Thanks for that. I will check out the sale, even though I've been trying not to. It is so nice to deal with a real person who is helpful.
