I got the Penny Slide Sandals in Suede (black) and I'm surprised at how nice they are. They remind me of my old Lucca sandals, maybe better quality.
ReplyDeleteI also like the Embroidered Trim Tank Top in Textured Crepe. I got it to try in a few colors and I think I'll keep the mahogany and the white.
I'm on the fence about the SZ Blockprints™ for J.Crew tiered maxi dress in Pink Water Lily Print. If anyone knows of a bra that will work well with this, please let me know. That's the only reason I might not keep it. It wouldn't make sense to be in a light breezy dress with a tight constricting strapless bra under it. The dress is super cute otherwise and it doesn't overwhelm my 5'4" frame like most maxi dresses do, so I really want to make it work. No pockets, sadly. The print is really pretty.
I got two pairs of penny sandals late fall, the bright cerise and the black suede with the rhinestone studs. They’re really nice! I don’t think that ankle strap is necessarily the most flattering with skirts but they’re a nice substantial shoe. I tend to wear a lot of boyfriend jeans and looser pants in warmer weather and they look really good with them (not that I’ve worn them yet! Brrrr)
DeleteAre yours the slide version? Mine don't really have an ankle strap. I wish they came in a nude color, I'd buy those too.
DeleteNo not the slides, the ankle strap version I should have clarified. They are like a modern version of a buffalo sandal from the 1970s.
DeleteI also indulged in 2 pairs of Penny Sandals when they went to clearance, just couldn’t resist the rich colours and comfy block heel. I’m hoping they’ll work with some dresses/skirts, but will be happy to pair them with jeans/chinos as well.
DeleteI'm going to wait patiently and hope the make more variations. When they make a thing, they usually get stuck on the thing and make it 1000 different ways, so maybe they'll do that with the Penny Slides. Thanks!
DeleteJ.Crew has always killed it with the sheath dress ... And though I haven't bought any clothes from JC since 2016-2017, I browsed the website recently & am quite enamoured with the pink gingham sheath dress and the tuxedo dress. Hmmmmmm
ReplyDeleteI bought the cotton leopard sheath dress during the last sale. I agree this is a well done classic shape for J Crew. I think the gingham is adorable too. There was a crazy price one day for the tuxedo dress but I didnt get it as I already have a black wool dress I that does not see much wear.
DeleteGlad to hear a fellow JC-sheath dress afficionada weigh in ☺!
DeleteAnd the white denim shift dress ... It seems to come back every year and I keep missing out. Is this year's version consistent with those of years past? The reviews are glowing (and numerous).
ReplyDeleteJust standing in a coffee shop and got a huge compliment on my J.Crew pencil skirt and cashmere Tippi. Both are old pieces, but I still feel great in them and they both are in great condition. The skirt is an orange paisley I got NWT on eBay, one of my favorite skirts of all time. Such a substantial fabric and beautiful print.
