Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

    2. Yeah, the website is a disaster. I just called CS to place the order. Didn't expect them to answer, but they're working late. There's some good deals with 60% off sale + 15% catalog coupon. I'm in love with the SZ Blockprints, so just ordered pjs & swim.

  2. Picked up some repeats of orders placed earlier this week but sizes are slim pickings now. I still managed to have 23 items in my cart and I had to talk myself out of 10 of them! The deals are great if the sizes/colors work out... and now I’m exhausted.

  3. Cybermonday not so much, same items still excluded from promos and percentage off not any better. Overall I'm not finding much in any retailer that is exciting.

    1. 60% off sale section but no sale update. Nothing for me today. I hope they ship the Black Friday orders soon. My instore order shipped immediately but it’s only boring basics: a white long sleeve perfect fit tee and a beige perfect fit turtleneck for wearing under wool sweaters. I need them but I’m not excited to receive them.

      Review of the “Gin Fizz” tee: it’s a heavier weight cotton knit, which I like, and the sequin design is super cute (if you like that sort of thing), but it’s unflatteringly boxy and oversized. I bought my usual t-shirt size, large, without trying it on, in spite of noticing that it seemed really big. That was a mistake. It didn’t shrink at all in the wash and it seemed to even grow a bit larger with wear. I almost feel like I could have sized down 2 sizes. The only other time I had this issue was with the linen save the bees t-shirt. That one grew every time I washed it until it finally became unwearable and I donated it to Goodwill.

    2. a couple of " new statement" tee shirts in arrivals this morning. these will likely end up in the sale section . seems like alot of them are fitting larger. agree "boxy" fit.
      I saw them instore the other day. I wish they would limit these type of tees to just making a few ...and make them high quality cotton... for reference check out the super expensive white one with the red sequins. saw in store ...so over priced its just silly.

    3. I called in to use the code and the CS rep said it isn't stackable on the cyber promotion, cyber promotion is "one code" only.

    4. So why do some customers get to use it and others not ? I am never on the receiving side with any perks form J Crew. you would think I would stop shopping with them all together. but I guess my J Crew addiction tends to have me purchasing any way.

    6. @RN and Jackie, I’ve had no issue at all with stacking the 15% off with the 60% off. I’ve had 2 separate adjustments today, including one this evening, and it was not an issue with either rep. The coupon code states clearly that it can be stacked with one other promo code.

    7. Well the rep I spoke with said sorry no go, BUT I did reach out via email to JCrew and they did honor it. I didn't mention the phone call and denial, I just asked for some help. I figured I just needed to get the right person.

  4. I ordered some Crewcuts jammies for little_lining and my nieces - at $10 a set it doesn't get much cheaper than that.

    JC has been botching my returns like crazy. Just got a notification that my return was processed (the box was received at their warehouse 11 days ago), and of the 5 items in the box only 2 were processed and a $7.50 return fee was applied to each of them. Even stranger is that the Narvar return tracking number was associated with items that weren't processed. Really annoying, and both the B&M in my old city and my new city closed (my closest store is now over 100 miles away) so I'm forced to mail them in to begin with.

    I just don't understand why they're unable to process returns correctly anymore - this happens constantly and when I contact them about the unprocessed items they refund me very quickly. So... did they investigate and actually find the item? Or do they just take my word that the item was in the box with the processed returns? I hate feeling like I'm mailing my returns into a black hole.

    Anyway, hope JCA's can find some deals, your order goes through, it ships, and you don't need to mail in a return! Happy Cyber Monday. ; )

    1. I too have had huge issues with returns. J Crew gave me all kinds of rebates on the returned items so it saved me about $35 in the end. They lost big time. I made the returns and got the credit for the sales. Keep your receipts. I anticipate another long call with CS when I get my next bill again. The company is failing at every turn.

  5. So I already got all but one of my JCrew packages. (If that one gets cancelled, no worries.) One was seriously like overnight. I didn't order anything over the weekend. I just stuck with the 40% and I'll deal with asking for price adjustments. I did get a pair of shoes and was super disappointed in the shipping. The main shipping box was fine but the shoe box was crushed and the shoes were in the wrong box and were smooshed. Luckily it's for me and not a gift but I'm appalled someone let that go.

    2. call and complain to CS about condition/ of shipped items. they can note it and if you return item. tell the SA you called CS and there should be a note about returning the item in its condition. I have had to do this a couple of times...

  6. Looks like there are a few new arrivals for cyber Monday. A cute lace collar tippi, a geometric fair isle sweater I wish was in natural fibers, and a darling cha cha tee that may make its way to me (my size says sold out but it’s probably an inventory issue?). I stopped by factory to return my bow midi (others agree this runs big so if you’re stealing a pop back size down one I think). Didn’t see much of interest.

    2. I just grabbed the mockneck center cable knit sweater in dark green even though it's pre-order. It's cotton! (or at least it claims to be). That was my fifth order in five days. I'm anticipating a huge return once I sort out my size/colors/fabrics/doubles.

  7. Annoying the site does not allow you to combine the 60 off sale plus 15 off coupon. I know it is allowed so they need to update their site to allow it. I just called and sat on hold for 12 minutes and realized for the small amount I will save I will use it another day. Nothing much to order,just go the Allison Lou bracelet and some lurex socks. Black Fri I went and got the NY sweatshirt with 40 off plus $5 rewards. I notice that sweatshirt has been around ahwile and keeps restocking and never goes to clearance. Anyone know why?

    1. I think that's the second round for the NY sweatshirt. It came out earlier last year (possibly around the same time?), then the Brooklyn sweatshirt came out, and now back to NY. I'm from Queens so I've been hoping for a Queens sweatshirt instead but alas.

  8. I bought the classic fit boy shirt in the red and white stripe for $16. I'd been wanting it since it first came out for $79.50 so I hope I went with my correct size. It didn't seem worth the hassle to do the usual buy 2 return one dance.

    1. I tried this shirt on during the Shop Like Black Friday event. My 'usual' perfect shirt size 6 was too loose and the 4 too short in the arms. If in came in tall, a 4 Tall may have worked. But the classic fit does not work on my figure, so I may be a bad example.

    2. Oh no! And oh, no...I'm pretty sure I'll have the same experience. I can choose one, either arm length or width. I went with my smaller size, so I chose width. I must admit, I always hope for a different outcome though!

  9. still no free shipping to Canada for ages..even this past weekend and Cyber Monday. gee with Canada Post on strike you would think J Crew might show us a little kindness.

  10. There hasn't been a sale restock all weekend, unless I missed it. I'd be surprised if the clear out the sale section, even with the 60% off.

    Still on the hunt for a $15 Boden coupon if you have one, it expires today.

  14. My last two orders arrived without an invoice/receipt in the package. Did anyone else notice this? How do we handle returns without an invoice/receipt?

    1. I've printed out my order confirmation and returned that way but with Narvar for returns now I think it would be less of an issue if you're missing an option - you should be able to generate the return from your order history page on the website.

Hi p banos - you can go to http://returns.narvar.com/jcrew/returns and put in your order number and billing zip code and it will pull up your order that way to create a packing slip and shipping label. Watch them like a hawk, though - sometimes not everything in the box gets processed at the same time (see my vent above).

    3. If you return in-store, they can look up your order information without a receipt per the SAs in my local store.

    4. I plan to return in-store though, I guess I can print out my order information. Only I do not have a printer...I will have to sneak it in at work. How would that work with a gift - do you have to print the order info for your gift recipient. It seems so much easier to get a receipt.

    5. It’s all thru your email address. Just give them that at the register. However if you placed multiple orders of the same item at different prices make sure they return the item at the right price.

  15. Reveived my 2011 Blythe shirt ordered for me during the Shop like Black Friday event. I do like the shirt and will keep it. The weathered appearance + the pockets make it a casual looking shirt, which I like. Usually silk seems too precious for casual wear. Plus the attractive price! I ordered my usual perfect shirt size 6 in black and that is a good fit.

    1. I got that one awhile back in black and love it. I didn’t realize it would have that washed silk look but I also think it works well with jeans. It will also layer well under sweaters.

      The regular did not work for me when I tried it in store (damn sleeves). Suz, did you purchase a tall?

    3. I don’t think I did, because the length was pretty long In The regular. I only tried on once and haven’t worn so I don’t remember if the sleeves were really short. I think I sized up to either a 4 or 6 (most likely a 4) so the shoulders weren’t tight and the extra width helps the sleeve length. I usually cuff sleeves so I’ll have to see. I’m sure I posted details here but I can’t remember.

      I just ordered the red white and blue striped button down In the 4 tall. I thought it might be a cute coverup. Also ordered a striped bikini in red and navy for about $25 total. If I don’t love I can pass along to one of my girls.

    4. Thanks for the info! The 2 had sleeve length issues for me and the 4 was too big. I ordered the 2 tall, couldn't not for the price.

      And I ordered the red white and blue striped button down in a 2 (not tall) a few days ago! I'm all over the place size wise but one thing that remains the same is similar taste :) Good luck with the suits!

  17. I was just in the middle of placing an order and I got kicked off the site and now it is down. Ugh. The screen that flashed apologized for the problems w the website and said the 50/60% off will be extended through Tuesday. So I guess that’s good if you are still trying to take advantage of the promo.
