This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.
So
if you have recently purchased,
or stopped by a J.Crew store to try
on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you
might be willing to share that
information with us in this post.
Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.
In
particular, if you could
mention a few of the noteworthy
details like fit, size, fabric, and the
like— that would be fantastic! Thanks
in advance! :)
new promo TUESDAY...didn't order yesterday with MONDAY code.
ReplyDeletewill see what WED THURS and maybe even FRIDAY have to offer. not buying unless I am sure...too many returns lately. its embarrassing....
OT: Amazon has some great Prime Day deals on shoes. Sale picks on my blog.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I briefly checked the deals earlier and didn’t see anything interesting, but the site is hard to navigate and I missed the shoes. I went back after I saw your post and ordered 3 pairs of shoes using the Prime Day 30% off plus an Amex points 20% off that’s been languishing in my shopping cart for a while. I selected a pair of Frye Carson ballet flats in antique black ($58) and 2 pairs of Dr. Martens Flora ankle boots in black ($35) and burgundy ($38). I already have both styles in other colors and I love them. The only issue: mixed reviews in whether the black boots are real leather or “vegan leather.” I decided it was worth a shot. If I receive plastic boots, returns are free.
DeleteI'm glad it was helpful! And I totally agree, their website is a pain to navigate. I ordered the Cole Haan flats and a pair of Frye boots with the 30% off. We'll see if the boots work out!
DeleteThanks for the great tip on Frye! Got another pair of short Melissas. Never regret money spent on Frye boots or bags.

I just re-discovered my one pair of campbell capris. Wow, they are super flattering and look cute with sneakers and a t shirt or flats and a button down. My pair is the cotton blend and I got them NWT off eBay last summer, may have to scout another pair.
ReplyDeleteI have kept very little of the new J Crew I've ordered this Spring/Summer. The going-out blazer was a win - would like to get another color if I can get a good price. Thinking of trying some of the 7" inseam shorts, but this late in the season I would like to see them on sale. :|
Oh they will be eventually. When they were 1/2 price a few weeks ago and there were stacking discount codes they were under $15. BTW, the honey, white and grey fit larger than the navy and green. I ordered two pair of the honey and they one pair was garment dyed. I actually like the other better, but both were fine. I could tell because the inside trim on one pair was blue/white and the other pair it was dyed like the shorts blue/brown
DeleteI received my Nordstrom sale Jcrew items today. I’m kinda stumped as to why the Dover blazer is such a hit. It’s unflattering on me. Now, mine is too big so maybe sizing down will help. I’m thinking 2 sizes. I won’t be able to button it 2 sizes down but that’s not how I imagine wearing it. Not sure if I’m going to reorder though. I’m also not a fan of the punk floral top. I really need a tall size and it’s a little snug in the upper arms, but quite boxy in the body. Near misses, per usual.
ReplyDeleteI’m also returning the falling floral top. It’s very low in the arm holes.
Last night I caught a popback of the v-neck camisole in watercolor floral at 7.79 USD pre-tax. Kind of excited for the print because the mix of black, chartreuse, beige, and blue channels the mood and rhythm of Dries Van Noten’s SS15 collection.
ReplyDeleteOrdered the Point Sur crinkled cotton/silk popover and will report back on the fit and quality. Also tempted to order the linen wrap dress (J4732) but will probably look for the item in store to try.
I received some items from the 40% sales...Cora leopard slides in 10.5, 1/2 size up just barely fit. Funny, in some J Crew shoes I take 9.5 I also ordered 10 which have not shipped, and I will return when they do. Also waiting on the cross strap sandals, I only plan to keep one.
ReplyDeleteThe royal blue easy tunic dress in small is a good fit, but does not really flatter my shape. At $20, you think I might keep for the light weight and great color, but I have a Boden tunic dress in a similar color with 3/4 sleeves that suits me better. So likely a return.
The Slim perfect shirt in striped Irish linen. I love these shirts, and would probably like in ten colors. The green is an unusual color that I love. Wondering if I will find this with a huge mark down later? I wear in my usual 6, and it is not the least bit oversized. I find it a close but not too tight fit. Guess that is what slim means!
I had the same issue with the easy tunic dress. My friend highly recommended it but it was like a sack of potatoes on me. Even at the sales price and easy wear I couldn’t find a reason to keep it. I don’t know if height makes a difference; my friend is 5’10 and I’m 5’1.
DeleteWell I am in between at 5-7, so I do not think that. I think it is a figure thing - I am 35/27/36 so my best feature is the smaller waist, which is hidden in this dress. Some sheath dresses work on me, but those are usually a knit where the fabric does follow your shape a bit.
DeleteI know exactly what you mean and that's why I don't do shift dresses. They do nothing for my shape, and though not quite as easy to wear, I do separate skirts and tops.
