This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopped
by a J.Crew store this past weekend
to see what's available (if
anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS
{sigh!} in person, maybe you
might be willing to
share that with us in this post. In
particular, if you could share
with us a few of the noteworthy items
that are available, at what
prices, and potential sizes the
store is carrying (as well as the
store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also, please
let us know if your local store
was/ is carrying an additional
percent off sale. Thanks in
advance!!! :)
I stopped into my J.Crew Mercantile (formerly regular J.Crew) to look at the city coats in camel and heather grey (almost everything was 50% off). Both colors were beautiful and it fit well in my usual 0. I couldn't decide which color to get but when I got home I went online to order the heather grey (the store didn't have a size 0) and the site won't let me use my birthday coupon on it. Sooo not cool. I haven't bought anything from factory in so long and of course when I actually want something, it's something that's "excluded from promo". I'd have bought so many more things if they weren't always "excluded from promo"; I just don't get that tactic at all.
ReplyDeleteThat said, it's still 50% off. Is it worth getting the coat anyway...? I definitely wouldn't pay more than 50% off on anything at factory.
50% off is usually the best promo at Factory unless there is 30 or 40% off and a Gilt 35% promo on top of that. It often ends up being better pricing than when the item goes to sale later. I would call CS and ask to apply the birthday coupon though. I think they might have done it in store, and you can tell them the store was out of your size. They are wildly inconsistent store to store with policy - one I shop at will not apply the teacher discount if the whole store is a percent off, the other will even at 50% off.

ReplyDeleteYes- I did visit J. Creaw *lol* and poking a little fun at the typo in the title post. Mainly browsed sale section- nothing exciting with 40% off but still tried some stuff and then decided I really didn't need it :(!
ReplyDeleteOT: Kudos to Boden CS. USPS seems to have lost a return I mailed to them, and Boden went ahead and credited me even while the package is MIA. Classy!
ReplyDeleteI also like how Boden lets you use your teacher discount online. How novel! Why can't jcrew do that too?
DeleteBoden is the best, I'm expecting a big order of pretty new things from them soon. I love them and they would honestly get all of my J. Crew money except the exchange rate is not in our favor. One of the new Icons dresses is 280 GBP but $420 US. Ouch!
DeleteI did stop in to J. Crew for some returns and picked up the ribbed bell sleeve top, which they automatically did give me 30% off on despite it being excluded from promo online. Love that the sleeves are not too wide and the length is 3/4 so they won't be dragging in everything when I eat or write. We need more of these basics with one, understated twist- this is how you get people to buy "trendy" items!
ReplyDeletefree shipping on the Canadian site. but no update to sale for the last 5days. nothing I
ReplyDeletewant.....
Can’t wait to see what the new roll-out will bring.
ReplyDeleteHopefully early access to those who get an email.
Factory has 50% off everything including clearance - plus free shippping today. The Gingham Schoolboy in blue is $14.99 after discount, so practically free. Not too worried about quality at that price.
ReplyDeleteNice score!
DeleteHas anyone reviewed/tried the Tall embroidered floral mini skirt
ReplyDeleteitem G8868 (or the regular length equivalent)? There aren't any reviews online and I'm really curious to know if it's TTS.
I reviewed it on my IG (its way down about 70 rows on the right) and yes,its TTS.
DeleteThanks, Ina!
Deletestopped in and picked up a very small style issue for November with some beautiful coats in it - wonder when they will be online ??
ReplyDeleteNext week,either tuesday ot wednesday.
Deletethank you Ina.
Deleteits great to have info...but why does J Crew have us unaware of when the next roll out will be available. even SA's are not sure which day. like its top secret. this is really annoying and really mind bloggling.
SO, stopped by to make returns at my closer store to find the place ‘boarded up’ (craft paper covering all the windows). Thanks for the heads-up, Crew. Ugh! I know they prob hate to announce store closings, but it sure would’ve been nice to know. This makes the ship to store option much less attractive to me (driving across town), and makes me reconsider placing orders that might require returns.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me sad J Crew couldn’t survive in the seventh wealthiest county in the country. I know malls are dying, but this one still does really well. Granted, J Crew’s merchandise choices for this store were dismal (no collection items, no basics, never any items I was excited to try). In fact, I honestly can’t remember the last time I bought anything other than underwear for one of my boys in the store. All my purchases have been online.
That's sad, Wendy. I've often wondered if that will be the fate of my store (Lake Forest) and one day I'll show up and it will be gone. It's always dead, and the SAs are not as helpful or knowledgeable as they used to be. Almost all my purchases are online.
DeleteI shopped my storage closet. Found a nice Italian wool city fit wide leg pant from the previous decade. The lining is in tatters so I need to remove it. Aside from that, a nice discovery. Muted fall colors that will go well with navy or burgundy.
