This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopped
by a J.Crew store this past weekend
to see what's available (if
anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS
{sigh!} in person, maybe you
might be willing to
share that with us in this post. In
particular, if you could share
with us a few of the noteworthy items
that are available, at what
prices, and potential sizes the
store is carrying (as well as the
store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also, please
let us know if your local store
was/ is carrying an additional
percent off sale. Thanks in
advance!!! :)
Thank you to J.Crew for the lack of decent promo which is making it seem possible that I might actually not buy anything for another month.
ReplyDeleteSigh.... still no end date for this so called promo either.
DeleteMy guess is we'll get a promo with new arrivals tomorrow - I got an email from my store saying it will be 25% off $125 and 30% off $200. Not sure when that will start though, my store is doing new arrival events Weds-Thurs.
DeleteThanks for the tip Anne (though I personally do not like these types of promos) I was hoping for a % off sale at least.
DeleteHas anyone tried the cropped pant in stretch chino? Are they like the factory laney stretch chino? How do they fit?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much
I reviewed them on my IG
DeleteJust scroll down to where i reviewed the virgo tee.
DeleteI can't find it... but I will keep looking... thanks
DeleteFound it thanks!!! I am 5.3, 115, should I get 0 or 2? Thanks Ina!!!
DeleteI think you should be good with a 0.
DeleteIf anyone needs it, here's the direct link to Ina's review.
DeleteLadies! Has anyone tried the factory version of laney stretch chino?
DeleteAlso, has anyone tried the Cameron pant... they look low rise on the website...but not sure...
Deletealso, reviews are odd... run small...thanks all for your help...
@Kate Tayban i also tried and reviewed the Cameron pants (in black and grey as they fit different).
DeleteIf you need a review of the Edie pants,i tried them too lol
@Ina, you are amazing! Much appreciated.
Delete@maryeb lol thank you! I try to create my own crew-cyclopedia:)
DeleteI say, you succeed.
DeleteThank You Ina and all of you for your help... great reviews....
DeleteLaney pants are slightly wider legged than the Camerons/cropped chinos. More of a straight leg than a skinny and not quite as short either.
DeleteI went yesterday. The store at Flatiron Crossing in Broomfield, CO didn't have any of the new arrivals that are coming out yet, but I'm not surprised. I looked around but didn't get anything. I was intrigued by the camo utility shirt/jacket, but I don't know what I'd wear it with.
ReplyDeleteThe only signs I saw were advertising the student/teacher discount increased to 25% off for a limited time. If the promo is 25% off $125 like mentioned above, I'm not sure I'll bite. I hate tiered promos, and I have a 20% off code from Anthro for filling out a survey plus the 15% code off for my birthday.
I did an in-store pick-up on Friday evening, after not having visited in over a month. My order included the camo Tippi and I'm really happy with the color and fit, which seemed more flattering than usual to me. Fabric is thin, but print seems rich and vibrant. Very pleased.
ReplyDeleteI had also ordered the Toothpick chino in camo, but I had a feeling this one might be a miss and it was, on me. Reviews that recommend sizing down were true for me - I have a pair of Toothpick jeans in 27R so i sized down for these but the stretchy fabric was still way too generous, and could have gone down yet another size, to a 25, at the least. (I really should have tried Petite, but they were all sold out.) In any case, the print seemed muted in comparison to the Tippi, but what killed it for me was the placement of the cargo pockets on the outer thigh. I have muscular, athletic little legs and generally stay away from prints as a result -- the pockets, front seam and print just weren't flattering on me.
Since I hadn't been in store for so long, I hadn't seen many items before. Nothing really caught my eye, but I did really like the camo Shirt-Jacket more than I thought I would. I had talked myself out of this one when it debuted b/c this kind of in-between season is so short in the Northeast, but this piece is well-made, has a nice, rich print and I can still find quite a few uses for it. My store didn't have my size (and despite being 4'11", I'm not sure that I would order the Petite) or I would have bought it. I'm going to try another store later this week.
Lastly, I don't think there were any promos in-store, and the sale section seemed to offer items priced-as-marked. The same usual cluster of 4 rolling racks and 6 hanging rods overstuffed with OTS/Cold shoulder/One-shoulder tops made up the bulk of items (lots of that electric gingham tie-waist dress, as well). I hope JC learns not to put all of their eggs into one basket when pursuing trends as evidenced, by this sad display (the Merino tie-neck cold shoulder is certainly eyeroll-worthy!)
That's it, for now!
Good reviews. I think for me with the toothpick camo is the fabric. It's got too much give, so it feels loose in some areas. I happen to like the side pockets in pics but agree the colors are more muted than I expected.
Delete@TM93, I'm glad that the Camo Tippi worked out, it looks like a great piece! Thank you for the reviews!
DeleteI have a code I won't be using that expires tonight for the new arrivals. 20% off two items or 30% off three: SSCHDXRUG.
ReplyDeleteI was able to visit a store on the weekend, it was very quick as I had the littles with me. No percentage off sale is hard to swallow esp since we're so used to it. The promo for teachers/students was 25% off so I used that on the rugby in pink/navy (which is now in stores) and a crewcuts item. I didn't get to look around much but was told that there was a promo where if you tried on a pair of pants you would receive a $20 off coupon for your purchase. I used my teacher discount so I didn't bother with that promo but if I was alone I would've looked into it more.
ReplyDelete@jan, the order I picked up included a flyer for this promo and I read it more carefully tonight. It's in-store only, and it will give you $20 off a minimum $50 purchase, as long as you try on a pair of pants (can't remember whether jeans were included.) Curious promo, haven't seen anything like it before. HTH! 🙂
DeleteI might use it to get that kids monster sweater that is excluded from promos. It doesn't say anything about "select" JCrew merchandise. It only mentions 3rd party merchandise and previous purchases being excluded.
DeleteI caved and ordered the Merino V-neck sweater with drawstring sleeves, in two colors (I'm not sure which color I prefer), and the mules to get that 30% off. Even if I like the mules I'll most likely return them and reorder them after my vacation. It will be good to know my size since they're online only. I used an extra 15% off so the prices were decent.
ReplyDeleteWhat is this 15% off coupon/code that is being mentioned? Was it for cardholders only?
ReplyDelete@shopalot, if it's the same one my husband received along with his order from this past August, then it's just a stackable coupon. (Remember how those such coupons were 20% before? It seems that they're 15% now.)

DeleteOK, now I remember others mentioning receiving coupons with their orders. If anyone has one they won't need, please let me know. The Liberty shirt that I have my eye on says "online only". Boo!
