  1. I was going to bite this afternoon, when the midi sweater skirt was in the promo; just went and added a few more items and now it's excluded. Well, J. Crew, now you've lost a $500 order - all to save the company $37!

    1. Don't worry- you saved yourself some disappointment. The skirt has a wierd shape to it- not very flowy or swingy- the fabric make is a bit thick and it's just off... it does run true to size. I am in between a 2 and 4 and the 2 fit perfectly.

  2. I will admit that it's been a long time since I've even looked at the J.Crew website. However, I decided to have a peek after catching a glimpse of the Tippi Leopard sweater on feedly (I sold my original one a few years ago during a closet purge and have regretted it ever since), and actually found numerous items that I'm interested in this time around. I've shared my personal picks for the new arrivals in this post. :)

    1. Btw, I read that Somsack Sikhounmuong has taken over as head of women's design at J.Crew. I've been out of the J.Crew loop for awhile, so I'm not sure if this has been discussed or not? I wrote a post about Somsack last year, as he used to be the head of design at Madewell, and I love his aesthetic, so if he is now working at J.Crew, there is hope for the women's line, IMO.

    2. I hope J.Crew and Madewell will remain brother and sister but not turn into identical twins. There's already some overlap in terms of design/silhouette with both companies.

  3. Some nice things in this rollout. Going to try the COLLECTION ELSIE METALLIC D'ORSAY PUMPS. Also, happy to see that the Martie pants are included in the promo - going to grab those in a couple of colors too.

  4. I'm a big fan of the drapey silk blouse, and was set to try the academic green, but it's excluded from the promo :-(

Thinking about the red double serge pencil skirt, but TBH not sure if I would wear it outside the holiday season. Will have to post a "help style me" question on that one.

    1. Hi Hexicon - I'm on the fence about the Petite Patio pant in red. I love everything about the pant, but I'm trying to decide how many outfits can work with the red pants without looking too festive-y. Grey, navy, cream, or camel are colors that work with red.

    2. I save all my reds for fall/winter, I think I'm perfectly capable of pulling them off without looking festive-y or holiday, matter fact that thought never comes to mind, lol, I think it's all in the styling of the pieces.

  5. As of this morning, some of the cashmere sweaters that were excluded from promo earlier this week now have a small markdown and are eligible for promo--mostly the styles that have been available for a while (e.g., some colors in the long-sleeve t-shirt, item e2054 and a few colors in the classic round-neck cardigan, item e2076). I know the cashmere quality has declined considerably in recent years, but these prices are at least a little more bearable.

  7. Review of the Suede A Line Skirt---I ordered my normal pencil size 8......as I stepped into it and started to hike it up I could already tell too tight as it passed my thighs...I think I would have had to go up two more sizes. Which would be too long on my 5'1 frame. But the color (navy), feel ,and smell of the suede was to die ---so sad it didn't work for me!

  8. Why are all the long pants that I like excluded from the promo?!
