J.Crew Updates Website with New Arrivals!

"Thanks!" to many of you, including JulieStyles & Michelle P. (in this post), Rose (in this post), Fabulous Florida Mommy (in this post), as well as Suzy & Irina, who let us know that J.Crew had an update to its website today (click here to view online).

There are some new arrivals for men (click here) & women (click here). {wahoo!} It looks like Crewcuts (click here) has been updated, although the J.Crew Collection (click here) looks the same.

The Holiday season is officially here, as J.Crew brought back the {very merry} Gift Guide (click here).

Guess what is back? The latest catalog (click here) is now available to view again. J.Crew finally came to their senses. Yey! I am thrilled to see it back up. :)

Also exciting? J.Crew is extending their offer to take 25% off *and* free shipping on orders of $150+ with promo code STAYWARM. This offer now expires today.

I am off to check out the new arrivals now...

what me likes. I think the Black Neutral version of the Wynter Sweater in Sequin Stripe (Item 59512; $118.00) is so pretty. I thought I was done with sequins, but as a stripe?!? Brilliant! I also heart the Stadium-Cloth Boulevard Trench (item 19648; $325.00) in Maraschino Cherry. That is the kind of coat you picture wearing while strolling down a snow covered sidewalk in Paris with hot chocolate in hand!

hmmm. I don't know about the Button-Back Popover (Item 58400; $198.00). How do you put on this jacket? I must have read the description three times and I can't figure it out. It doesn't look like you could easily pop it over your head (like the name suggests). Do you have to really button the back to close it up? Yikes!

What items are you most excited about and why? Which items are you surprised (or not surprised) to see? Which items did you hope would be included? Were you expecting a bigger roll-out today? Also, did you receive the latest catalog? :)

  1. The clea dress looks perfect for my day to night needs and honestly there is something about the black glitter and ivory Mona pump that's calling my name! I still really want the tipped hacking jacket in black also! Sigh... Just when I had paid the card off lol

    ReplyDelete
  2. I like everything in the "For Grandma" section, hmm....

    ReplyDelete
  3. I love the Sterling Skirt. I just wish it came in some of the same beautiful colors as the No. 2 pencil skirt!

    ReplyDelete
  4. I bought the no.2 pencil skirt in neon azalea:)

    ReplyDelete
  5. I agree with Michelle on the Clea dress, it looks versatile. I am pleased to see something that doesn't end well above knee for a change! I like the Rhea popover and the no. 2 pencil skirt in midnight tweed.

Not buying anything though, even with the 25% off. I have pieces so similar to the new arrivals already in my closet from past years. That's what is encouraging about the recent rollouts, however. They remind me of the seasons I really loved. I'm happy to see more of what drew me to the store in the first place.

  6. Bourbon and Pearls-
me too! I laughed when I saw "for wife." one plastic necklace. so sad.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Alexis, the new header is really eye-catching, especially with the graphic text!

    ReplyDelete
  8. I agree with Desert Flower - there are some pieces reminiscent of my old JC faves, which is great to see (like the Lana cami, which is like the '08 Joelle, reincarnated). For the first time in ages I feel like they're getting on the right track with the design, but the quality is sadly lagging behind. Way too much acrylic in the sweater offerings at those price points - at $248, the Snowden funnelneck sweater-jacket shouldn't have acrylic as the main fiber. Anyway, as usual can't wait to hear what the JCA's think, and am especially looking forward to reading the reviews when they start rolling in.

As an aside, the Talitha (Boatneck, Talia, Scoopneck) blouse is now on its 4th name change!

    ReplyDelete
  9. lol Tabitha!! "For grandma" indeed.

I found a lot of cute items, but am in agreement that the sweaters lost me with their fiber content.

I pre-ordered the neon azalea skirt and had to order the new vintage thermal stripe tee in the same colorway. :)

The Sterling Skirt is adorable, and if I didn't have skirts in those colors, they would be mine! Would love to see them add some color there.

I'm also liking the Clea Dress, Liquid Dot Skirt, Jules Dress, new plaid shirts, Stripe Sweaterdress and charm bracelet.

What do we all think of the Button-back Popover?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Lots to love. I already ordered the flannel lined chinos and I'm going to try the new puffer in navy.
I also ordered the Clea dress and I have high hopes for it: bracelet sleeves, to the knee, gorgeous green color. I hope the lining fabric is nice, that could be a deal breaker for me. I prefer acetate to poly but lately it's all poly! We'll see.
I like the line of the "Wynter" sweaters but too bad about the acrylic! I wouldn't pay 5 bucks for an acrylic sweater.
What is this carriage dress? It looks amazing, I can see it in the looks-to-love but I guess it's not available? I wonder at the fabric content!

  11. I will definitely be ordering the flannel-lined chinos. I once had two pairs, one a size too small and one a size too big, so I sold them both and have missed them since. Can't let these slip away in the correct size!

I'm also tempted by the Liquid Dot skirt (polka dot obsession!) but have one similar in navy, so I'm having trouble justifying both.

I'm also LOVING the Fair Isle leggings. I'm trying to think how I would wear them, though. I don't do a lot of shorter dresses or tunics...do y'all have any styling ideas on these before I pull the trigger?

    ReplyDelete
  12. From today, J.Crew can be ordered also from France, Germany and Italy with a flat shipping rate of 11.95 Euro (about $16).
The Euro prices have been inflated of about 35%, meaning that the Custom taxes will also reflect this increase.
So, I will not be ordering anything, unless - maybe -if they will apply the same US promos on sale items.

The only good part is that I am not disappointed as after seeing the UK prices I din't expect anything different.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I had to order the azalea striped vintage thermal tee, I love these tees.

I cannot believe the cashmere tee is sold out in all colors?

As for the acrylic in the sweaters just about everyone is doing it to keep their costs down.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Thanks mommydearest! I had 2 other versions before the last one (the group shot). Which one did you like the most? (I can't decide.) :)

    ReplyDelete
  15. FYI...Ebates still at 8% for those of you ordering this morning! Don't forget! :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. Literally sucked in my breath when I saw the liquid silk skirt in that gorgeous polka-dot pattern- God I hope it doesn't sell out before going on sale!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I love the neon azalea pencil skirt and the sterling skirt... so pretty!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Alexis - I've seen the banner change for a third time! Ha, I thought maybe you were getting 'fancy' and figured a way to automatically rotate them. :)

I like the current one, or the one before it, because I can see the post w/o having to scroll down past the big banner.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I just did a chat and the Heart me Sweater (page 2, page 28) is sold out. Here isthe response I got:

I am sorry, but I am showing that item 54949 had been available by a presell prior to the debut on our website and this item has completely sold out. It is not available in any store.

    ReplyDelete
  20. DaniBP: When I saw the Carriage Coat Dress earlier this morning I immediately thought of you. It is $425 and was in the Outerwear section before J.Crew removed it from the website earlier this morning. I'm assuming they don't want anyone ordering it with the extra 25% off, although it may be possible to do a pre-order for it now since it isn't available.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Thanks shopwithm for the heads up on sale! I checked it earlier this morning and saw a dismal 650 items... with this new update, I scored the lace blouson dress in black, a purple fav. tank, and some cream and camel knit tops to go with all my bright pencil skirts! So excited!

Still debating the neon azaela skirt and reminding myself that I've been able to score every color I wanted in the past on sale popbacks, except the elusive 2008 bright blue. Must resist...

    ReplyDelete
  22. Is anyone else annoyed that the clea dress doesn't come in tall? It looks suspiciously like the teddie which looked like a child's dress on me.. the waist was like right under my bust and it looked hilarious from the side because my butt is like 6 inches below where the butt darts are. Sigh. Love both dresses but will never be able to buy them until J.Crew gets their head out of their ass and realizes dresses are the thing that most need to come in talls, after blazers/coats that is.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I know the Betsy Sweater is not a new arrival but wanted to say I can't believe it's sold out in so many sizes/colors! It rec'd wretched reviews. I returned mine thinking they'd be easy to p/u at sale time but noooo, the colors I wanted are all sold out in my size. Boo!

    ReplyDelete
  24. All I see is sparkly glitter. I can't get past the Mona Oxfords, the Mona Glitter in red and the Wynter Sweater in Sequin Stripe in the Carbon Azalea.

    ReplyDelete
  25. IRL, I wouldn't be surprised if they start to pop back after people receive them. Then again, I figured that double-breasted sweater jacket would've just gone away after being panned as a shedding, pilly mess. Perhaps some customers just aren't as discerning as most JCA's.

I'd be willing to bet that the Heart me sweater, carriage coat dress, and that stadium cloth buffalo check jacket all magically pop up tomorrow after the 25% passes.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Did they extend the 25% off? I thought it ended yesterday but I still see the banner. Nothing popping out at me in the new arrivals but now that I know there's a sale update I'm going to have a look :)

Btw has anyone else tried the honeycomb sweater? The ribbing where the shoulder meets the sleeve is really throwing me in terms of it creating the appearance of bunching around the arm holes. I bought it in two sizes and layered three discounts on one of them (25% off $150, 20% off sweaters and 15% student discount) so I'd hate to return it, but I'm just not sure it looks right.

    ReplyDelete
  27. jacquelyn, thanks for the update on the 'heart me' sweater--didn't realize it wouldn't hit stores..i would have preordered!

oh well..i suspect it will popback sometime soon! (or hope it will!)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Cris: They don't pass on any of the promos to the UK site.

    ReplyDelete
  29. The heart sweater in camel/black is still available on Net a Porter in some sizes.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Thank you Tabitha.
I am hoping that they won't sell well in Europe with these prices and that they will start to apply a more decent policy.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I ordered the Sterling skirt in heather acorn, the Clea dress in vermont pine, and scored the Masie dress in waterfloral! I'm officially done for the rest of November!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I just ordered the Bronson suede booties in chocolate, and am hoping this isn't a regret. I find this style super comfortable and the re-stock quickly sold, so I hope I am not off on this. Not leather lined, but....

I'll probably put together another order today.

Loving to hear what everyone else in buying today! And thanks to Alexis too for this wonderful community of like hearted women :>

    ReplyDelete
  33. BOOOO!!! The flannel lined chinos used to come in Tall. I am glad I have 6 pair still going strong in my possession; I used to buy two colors in the flannel patterns each season for several years--usually a light khaki and a dark tan with different patterned linings. Have not worn them much the past 3 years in a warmer climate but I will take them with me to the Midwest this winter.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'm entranced with new arrivals with a flash-of-the-past:

Long leather gloves are back, relishing the silk kick pleat skirt, the cashmere clash argyle sweater, the longer length liquid dot skirt.

    *wallowing in retro-delight*

    ReplyDelete
  35. Does anyone know if the jacquard cafe capris in leopard are just the same printed silk as the jeweled jacquard pants? When I zoom, it looks like there is some texture, but it's so hard to tell.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Does anyone know what happened to the wide leg purple pants discussed/pictured in this post a few months ago? I thought they'd show up today, but it doesn't seem like it. I'll be sad if they never materialize!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Lots of pretty things, but nothing that I'm dying for. I did get the flannel-lined Waverly chinos -- I do love those!! So glad they extended the promo another day so I could get them on a discount. :)Added on the cute 3-pack of socks and the girls snowflake long-sleeved shirt (fingers crossed that the size 14 fits me!) to get to the $150 mark.

Looking forward to hearing the JCA reviews of the Sterling Skirt.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Lizbeck -- I am holding out for those purple trousers too, and have my PS keeping an eye out. She thinks they might be the Cafe Trousers.

I saw the Hutton trouser in a brighter purple, but they have a cuff and seem to be higher waited than these ones.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm holding firm despite my love for the sterling skirt...I ordered the viridian pencil skirt with the 25% since it's backordered to January (

However if the sterling skirt comes in colours ever...I'm in trouble! And I still may be because the heathered acorn is adorable...

    ReplyDelete
  40. Ugh, the new rollouts have made me break my rule of only purchasing once per promo, but I missed out on the Wool Plaid (fully-lined, whee!) Cafe Capris last time and I'm not about to let it happen again. Went for the Houndstooth...that black/red Plaid is just too *BAM!* for work. Also picked up the Wildcat Jenna Cardigan b/c that print is too cute. J.Crew used to roll out the most adorable printed cardis each season before they went all drab/ruffle/sequin, so I hope this is a sign of things to come.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I think JC designated certain items as not candidates for the 25% promo. I bet you see the Heart Me sweater back. Just like the long sleeve cashmere tees. When they removed the cashmere tees, people still found them so they took all the stock and said they are all sold out - in every size and color(!) Watch a lot of things come back after the promo ends.

    ReplyDelete
  42. lizbeck: I think they may be the Hutton wide leg trousers that are available on the Net-a-Porter UK site now. You can access the link through the 'Buy At Net-a-Porter.com' tab on the side of the Polyvore picture here.

    ReplyDelete
  43. regarding the back-botton popover, this reminds me of a similar piece from Ann Taylor a month ago. I don't get this. Maybe a couple buttons in the back would be cute with more of a boat-neck. Hopefully this will become more refined, but I'm not buying. lol

    ReplyDelete
  44. So exciting! I went for the Clea Dress and the Wynter Sequin Sweater, along with several of the waffle knit tees. Also love the Liquid Silk Dot Skirt and the Silk Kick Pleat Skirt but am holding off for now. Love all the holiday color and sparkle!

    ReplyDelete
  45. like the sterling skirt but i have so many skirts in the same colour. i wish they would have them in more colours.

i'm sad the telegraph skirt doesn't ship until jan wth why even put it on the site.

i also got the clea dress - love it. also finally ordered the valentina pumps in the rust colour.

    ReplyDelete
  46. So disappointed that some of my favorites are no longer on the site with the promo. The Carriage Coat Dress for one. I like the button back pop over, but would those buttons hurt your back if lean back in a chair? Not sure. Love the sterling skirt, but I'm with Roxy-pencil skirt colors would have been nice.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Valentina pumps in spicy gold are on sale now. Interesting because this is the color that was sold out for months. I have them in coral and black and I love them. They are very comfortable, leather lining nice low cut that makes them just the right accessory for many outfits. Of course my size is the only one sold out, boo.

    ReplyDelete
  48. So hard to be good, especially with the promo continued, but I blew my November budget at the Kate Spade FF sale, so I didn't order anything beyond my pre-order for the Neon Azalea pencil skirt. Lots of cute stuff, though!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Urg, I would die for those Valentina! They sold in my size too.

Can anyone give feedback on how to order the flannel lined waverly chinos? Should I size up?

    ReplyDelete
  50. I have to order the flannel chino, the sequin stripe sweater and some of the beautiful enamel bracelets (2 at 25%) for gifts...I purchased the tweed pencil no. 2 skirt (midnight) a few weeks ago at my b/m for $138...online it is $128...interesting. I have received many compliments on the skirt and think it's a great anchor piece of the holidays. Anyway, some very wonderful ideas on styling that will work with items I have from last year.

I love this catalog and that it has the old feeling again. I agree with many on the sweaters. A lot of $ for the material.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Is it just me or is the Lana cami, 62067 just the Joelle cami, 90848 under a new name. In any case, I got it in three of the four available colors along with some other popback items in the sale (fingers crossed), doing some major damage to my JC card in the process.

PS: the sale section has been replenished.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Genny, I am also pissed about the flannel lined chinos not coming in tall. It's BS, if you ask me... especially since they look so cute rolled. I can't even wear the regular length unrolled, though... still way too short.

D*ska, it totally is the Joelle cami. I am wondering what type of silk it is though. The retail Joelle was a beautiful, soft but extremely delicate silk, while the factory version was that crappy hard kind that I hate... hopefully it's soft but not quite as delicate as the Joelle! The Joelle is one of my favorite pieces of all time; hard to resist ordering all the colors!

    ReplyDelete
  53. I think the Lana is better because it only has 1 row of tucks instead of 2 - the ones on the Joelle hit me at an odd place. I'd jump on the Lana if it didn't have that darn side zip that always bunches up on me.

    ReplyDelete
  54. J.CrewJD, they're going right back if they aren't the same quality as my Joelles. Notice how there isn't much information on them on the website?

    ReplyDelete
  55. @J.CrewJD: PS: too bad they didn't bring the Bella jacket back (in the same quality, of course). My coral one is lonely and the prices on ebay are just too ridiculous!

    ReplyDelete
  56. @silver_lining: have you tried the Joelle with a belt that's meant to be worn at the waist?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Hi D*ska - I hadn't, but that sounds like a great idea. I'll be interested to see if they keep releasing pieces that are reminiscent of some of their more popular items.

It was weird to see a couple-word description of the Lana... I thought they'd at least say "we want it in every color"! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  58. I really love the minnies in nightfall blue. I think that color is so pretty.

AppGal: I love the fair isle leggings, too. I just can't see myself dry cleaning leggings. So I ordered these from Urban Outfitters. They're polyester, but they're only $40 and machine washable.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Ha! Love that they use "Cool Aid" in the catalog, Crewcuts section. How long until they use "Crewlade" (or have they already)?

    ReplyDelete
  60. Did anyone happen to catch the style number for the Carriage Coat Dress. I can't find out details without it. TIA. *sub*

    ReplyDelete
  61. JulieStyles - When you have more info, will you report back? I'd love to know a price for it.

    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Just as I thought I might order, the site is down. What do you want to bet my cart is empty when it comes back? Oh well nothing I needed

Alexis, the iteration I saw this am was similar to the last one but with different models. Loving the group shot more :)

    ReplyDelete
  63. J.CrewJD,

Glad to hear I am not the only one pissed about the flannel lined chinos not coming in talls. I cannot wear them unrolled either as they are too short and yes, 1/2 the fun is to have them rolled up (but not with your ankles showing and freezing like in the online photo! Defeats the whole purpose--LOL) I mean WHY WHY not make them in talls as many ladies I know like to wear them rolled!~

    ReplyDelete
  64. InBoxImpulse-It is pricey-$425 I think. At the very least I wanted measurements to see if it is something to consider.

    ReplyDelete
  65. JulieStyles and InboxImpulse: I didn't catch the item number for the Carriage Coat Dress this morning unfortunately, but I do remember that it is $425.

    ReplyDelete
  66. My lady lace popover in ivory arrived and I am in love. The 25% off promo was perfect: it was still pricey (for me) after all of the discounts, and being able to return it if I needed to was security to let me pull the trigger on it. So flattering and feminine. Stay away, final sale!!

    ReplyDelete
  67. I agree JC needs to do more items in Tall like the Jules dress, Tee dress, Lined flannel pants and could go on and on and on......Oh, well, I will spend my $$$$ elsewhere.
Regarding the fit of the mona pumps. I have tried many sizes. I need a 10 in the suede and leather but 9.5 in the Collection Mona's, like flannel. I usually wear a 9.5 in JC pumps and NEVER a 10 so that was a surprise for me.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I wanted the silk scoopneck, talitha, whatever it's called in the leopard print but it is not on the website. Does anyone have the catalog number on it? I want the 25% off. TIA!!!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Shekster: The Talia top in Wildcat is item #57672 for $118.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Everyone: love reading your top picks from the new arrivals! :)

mommydearest, FFM: Thanks for liking the new banner. I think I will keep this version up.

IRL: LOL! I can't believe you caught all three banners changes this morning! ;) I like the last version for the same reason you do- because you can see the top post easily! :)

    ReplyDelete
  71. I was able to find out information on the Carriage Coat Dress. It is available to pre-order now and the item# is 60744. It is 100% Linen and the sizing is XXS-XL. Here are measurements for sizes XXS, XS, and Small.

For the Carriage Coat Dress, the chest circumference in size extra extra small is 34.5 inches, the hip circumference is 39 inches, and across the shoulders is 14.5 inches

The chest circumference in size extra small is 36.5 inches, the hip circumference is 41 inches, and the shoulders are 15 inches.

The chest circumference in size small is 38.5 inches, the hips are 43 inches, and the shoulders are 15.5 inches.

It appears that each size increases by 2 inches in chest and hip circumference and .5 in shoulders, so a Medium would be 40.5 chest, 45 hips, and 16 shoulders. Large should be 42.5 chest, 47 hips, and 16.5 shoulders. XL should be 44.5 chest, 49 hips, and 17 shoulders. Of course if you want to verify you can call or do the online chat to double check on sizes M, L, and XL.

The front body length in size extra extra small is 35 inches, size extra small is 35.625 inches and small is 36.25 inches, so as you can see each size up gains about .625 inch of length to it.

    Hope this helps! :)

  72. Just got back from the B&M - tons of new markdowns. The Jester sweater in the flame colorway marked $79.99; argyle enamel bracelets and the skinny enamel bracelets with rhinestones ($12.99); sequin shawl collar cardigan (not sure, maybe $79.99?). Also seemed like a LOT of shoes on sale; however I can't wear most J Crew shoes so I didn't look. I have a feeling we are in for an extra 30% off sale promotion very soon -- heard the markdown "guns" going as I was walking through the store. Can't believe so many new arrivals have already been reduced.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Silk pleat skirt in crimson floral is very pretty irl. The styling they have on the website is so blah but I saw it in store paired with red coat and it was stunning. It also seems longer than 21" both in store and in the website pictures. The print is very vivid and I think with cashmere sweater it woudl be perfect for the Holidays.

Oh, and I am glad the Valentina snakeskin red pumps (from Holiday catalog) are not available yet. They are TDF but oh so pricey, I would be figuring out if I should trade my firstborn for them ;)

    ReplyDelete
  74. I am loving the Stadium-cloth engineer coat but need to wait for a good markdown before I can justify it. As far as the Button Back Popover..does'nt everyone need a straight jacket in red at this time of the year??

    ReplyDelete
  75. I wish I'd known about the valentinas in spicy gold going on sale sooner. I can't spend anymore dough. Maybe nxt time.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I tried the Mona pumps on...sad they did not work for me. They did not seem to be made well. I am a fan of the sterling skirt and ordered that and some thermals. The thermals seem heftier and of better quality than years past. Sadly this roll out did not thrill me as much as years past. Thanks for the ebates tip JCA's...love it!

    ReplyDelete
  77. ugh!!! i am totally drinking too much crewlade this week. i need to stop so i can save for presents!! but

Inboximpluse: i ordered the cafe capri jacquard pants. when i zoomed in, it looked textured, like the way jacquard should be, and not printed.
bit pricey but since i missed out on the jeweled one, and like this pattern better, i bit the bullet.
i'll do a review when it arrives.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Just got my Cece bronzed clay flats in the mail. Probably will return. Online they look more pink to me. Definitely true to said color description. I'm a 10-11 in shoe size and neither size at jcrew is really perfect for my foot. Lemme ask if anyone knows if the herringbone jacket in wool in on sale in stores still?

  80. J.CrewJD,

Thank you for pointing out the Lana/Joelle cami. I ordered it in the Warm Jade.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Stopping by my b&m after work; soo excited to pick up the new catalog! Wishing my store was bigger though; they don't even carry shoes and probably will only have 1/10 of the new arrivals.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Oh, the green clea dress looks long enough! Alas, the Waverly flannel lined chinos will be too short. Add my vote for a tall option, please. The Waverly is my favorite chino sillouette.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Re: pencil skirt in neon azalea - I know that some JCAs had mentioned that the Blythe in neon azalea was too bright/neon IRL. Does anyone know if this is the case for the pencil skirt? I'm worried if the pencil skirt will be very neon or not IRL.

    Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  84. InboxImpulse - Yes, the pattern on the pants is the same as on the shoes based on what I'm seeing in the catalog pic. Click here for the catalog shot.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Did anyone get a new J. Crew credit card in the mail? I got a black one yesterday. Doesn't look like anything has changed except it went from silver to black. Interesting.....

    ReplyDelete
  86. Jessica, I got one yesterday too! I kinda liked the old silver one better...

    ReplyDelete
  87. Jessica, I also got a new one - the SA at my store requested it to replace my old one because the magnetic strip would just not swipe anymore. The new one I received is also black. Feels flimsier than my previous card - but I shouldn't be surprised. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  88. It made me wonder if they were aiming for the prestige of a black AMEX. ;-)

  89. Review of the Collection two-tone circle skirt in this post.

    ReplyDelete
  90. JulieStyles: You're welcome! I do have an update on the dress though. I just heard back from my online PS and she is saying the dress is 70% wool, 30% hemp. The online chat rep said it is 100% linen. I'm thinking it is more likely the wool/hemp blend since it's a holiday piece.

  91. Inboximpulse - the PS I spoke with last night says it is a true jacquard...

I actually just got my jewel jacquard - finally - and you are soooo right - just not up to snuff, not compared to the crimson floral pants. I have ordered the leopard ones and will let you know! the jewel jacquards are going back sadly!

  92. Well, ordered the clea dress and the henley in the azalea stripe. The dress looks like a work basic and worth it with the 25%. Hopefully the fit lives up...

  93. Even the credit cards have declined in quality???? Tsk Tsk. What's next?

  94. I wanted to tell you all, today I was putting things in my Jcrew online shopping cart, and in classic style, something sold out while I was shopping. It did not disappear from my cart though! It showed "Sold Out" in my cart. Interesting.

  95. Alexis, I love the new, smaller banner. So cute!

I haven't even looked at the bottoms yet. I go so excited by the tops that I had to post.

LOVE the colors in the Lana tank. I am SO bummed that the green is labeled "warm jade". If anybody sees it IRL, I'd like to know exactly how yellow it is. As it is, I adore the other three colors, so I may have to let the green go.

I'm debating the Dream Fair Isle sweater. Wool is the first component, nylon is the second, and cashmere is the third. Can anyone verify if this is the same as previous years?

    Thanks!
    :) Jen

  96. I was excited to finally see the neon azalea #2 skirt and even more excited to get my pre-order notice. I'm just going to hope it's a pretty pink and not neon. :) I like the wynter sweater in sequin stripe in the black/natural combo, the sparkler skirt in silver, and the waffle leggings in navy stripe. And thanks to Gigi's website, I'm now in love with the glitterati ballet flats in cherry - I so want these! Must. stay. strong. No more orders for a while, although it's hard to not order with the 25% offer.

  97. Had to add to Sara's comment regarding the item that sold out while she was shopping showing in her cart as "sold out". They seem to have also updated the look of their confirmation emails. I hope these are signs of other improvements to come! A website wishlist option maybe???

  98. Thanks for the catalog pics Gigiofca! You must be so busy with you wee one and still want to help out the JCA's. :)

  99. Hey gang- I noticed that the viridian pencil skirt isn't in the new catalogue- it was waitlisted for January and now it just says sold out for most sizes. Does that mean it is no more? makes me glad I broke down and ordered it with the promo- hope I still get it in January!

  100. Any chance anyone has tried the Sperry Cormorant rain slipons? How are they fitwise?

  101. Just hit up the Tyson's Corner B&M. The new rollouts aren't in yet. The SA said they would arrive on Monday and be out on the floor by Tuesday.

As an aside, all Women's Ts are 25% off in-store. I picked up a couple of the crochet lace-front Ts. The black is amazingly slimming if the tummy is a problem for you. The white needs a tank, (I loved it with light blue!), but it definitely calls attention to any bulges.

  102. I bit on the Gimlet skirt in tinsel tweed. X-mas present to myself :) It just looks so pretty for the holidays. I'm all about skirts this season.

:) Jen: re. your first post, if the content of the dream sweater is 55% nylon, 30% wool and 15% cashmere, then it's the same as last year, which for me was a *nightmare* yarn (pilled like crazy). I have memorized this formula because I'm running the other way when I see it.

    ReplyDelete
  103. :) Jen - Last year's chunky Fair Isle funnelneck was 50% acrylic, 40% wool, 10% mohair.

math teacher - JC shoes aren't on my radar because they've been way diff than my style. I saw those glitterati flats in-person and they totally caught my eye. TTS, imo.

shekster - I'm happy ppl enjoyed the images I was able to put up. It was a rare moment w/two hands ;)

LizPoms - I have the yellow. Irl pics in this post. I wear 7.5 and definitely took the 8.

  104. The fiber content of my dream cardi from last year, item 28764, is:

    55% wool
    30% nylon
    15% cashmere

It has a few pills under the arm where sleeves rub the body but other than that it looks new.

  105. Lizpoms, I grabbed the Sperrys back in March on sale
+ 30 off. I love them! I am between a 7.5 and 8 and the 8's fit great. Highly recommend.

  106. I like a lot of the fair isle patterns and the Rhea popover. I could have sworn I saw a blouse that was like the Scoopneck blouse in Seine Stripe but in plain colors instead. Was I imagining that?

  107. what do y'all think of the double-cloth metro coat with Thinsulate in sea salt? Does anyone think the white/ivory color is dangerous? I just love how crisp it looks.

I'm also a new Jcrew-er so I wanted to ask if anyone knew about selecting Tall sizing. I'm 5'10" but I'm not sure if the coat will be too long.

    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  108. Amelia, I had a peacoat in sea salt a few years ago and I quickly ruined it when my jeans rubbed color onto it, and just from everyday wear. I will not buy a white coat again!

As for talls, I am the same height as you and always opt for a tall when it is available. It won't be noticeably longer, but the waist will be at the proper spot and the sleeves will be longer. It makes such a difference.

  109. Thanks for the info JCrewJD! good to know

  110. For those interested in the jacquard cafe capris in leopard, I just received mine today. They are a true jacquard, and they are heavenly. My only critique is that for a print that loud, the inseam should be an inch or two shorter. They're a bit closer to cigarette pant than capri on my 5'6" frame.

  111. Le Crewsette and WMM - I finally bit the bullet and ordered the leopoard jacquard pants last night (with the 25%!). I'm glad to hear that they are really jacquard this time (c'mon Crew!).

When I search for jacquard on jcrew.com, both the jeweled and leopard come up lying flat next to each other. From the images, it looks like the leopard pants are longer than the jeweled printed pants. I didn't notice the length of the jeweled pants because I was so disappointed with the fabric! I'll let you all know what I think once the leopard pants arrive.

For those looking for a colorful cropped holiday pant, I tried on these pants in green at Talbots today. I would go up a size from your J.Crew size, and be sure to use the code "thirty" online for 30% off. Quality was good and the pants are fully lined.

    Thanks for the help!

  112. Not sure if this is the right place for an updated review, but I got my exchanged larger size for the Sherpa Zip hoodie in chili and it's a bit too large (size M barely zipped up and I normally take a 4-6 in J Crew!) and long in body and sleeves; washed and dried it to shrink it a bit but shrinkage is minimal. It did, however, fade from a lovely vivid almost neon red to a duller vintage-sweatshirt sort of red :( Nice and warm though

    ReplyDelete
  113. Oh, Perfesser, thank you for the update! I had just enough time left to cancel my order for the red sherpa hoodie. I plan to re-order in a different color but now I don't know whether to get M or L! I am also a 4/6. Sigh. That is such a bummer about the red though... it's the best color!

  114. I just wanted to update on the new roll-out; I visited my local b/m this afternoon and they had nothing in store that was in the catalog (they didn't even have the catalog yet). Anyway, I noticed the catalog has a few pics with the pencil tweed midnight skirt. I purchased a few weeks ago and I love it! I like the idea of pairing it with dark green and the flame red... I have a pic IRL on my blog (vivalabeagle.blogger) if you want to see it; there is a touch of deep blue that makes it beautiful too.

  115. I'm sure everyone is J'Crewed out but did anyone notice the "rest" of the new arrivals roll-out today. Probably the items they didn't want sold with the 25% discount.
    -Valentina Snakeskin Pumps in Red
    -Black Tie Pumps
    -Heart Me Sweater
    -Scoopneck Blouse in Leopard
    -Natasha Blouse in Leopard/Wildcat
    -Carriage Coat Dress
    -Jules Dress in Sequin Stripe
    -Spectator Satchel (gorgeous!)

Just thought I'd throw that out there.
