Interior Shots of J.Crew's Liquor Store

"Thanks!" to Jennifer who shared the following news with us.

Over at Apartment Therapy (click here), there are several images of the Tribeca Men's Store (in NYC). The post also shares the following:
The long-established Tribeca tavern called Liquor Store may have closed its doors, but in its place J. Crew extended its brand with a curated selection of men's clothing and accessories by its designers and others — all while maintaining the original vibe of the bar situated in a classic 1825 townhouse.
What are your thoughts on the layout? Do you like that J.Crew has created such a unique-feel for some of their stores?

  2. I plan to be in NY this summer and I will be making a trip to the store to check it out in person.

  3. Canada guy: I checked it out last year, they have some interesting adjunct merchandise like vintage Rolexes (selling for far more than you'd pay at a reputable dealer, natch) and such. Don't forget to also check out the other men's store on Broadway in SoHo, it's quite a bit larger and has a broader selection, including all the denim and a mini suit boutique in the back.

FYI, neither of these stores have any sale stuff. I found over the course of a couple of visits to NYC that the 5th Ave. (between Union and Madison Squares) and Rockefeller Center stores have the best men's departments and the best sale sections. I've yet to make it to the South St. Seaport location.

  4. I've been in that store a few times. The decor is nice, but it's small and the merchandise is very limited, so it's not a great place to shop. My BF absolutely hates it. He think the homey ambiance is just a bunch of clutter. He'd much prefer an empty store filled with racks of sale merchandise. :P

I was also kind of put off when a customer came in to do an online return and was turned away. I know they don't have a lot of space, but I thought that was very poor customer service.

  5. Liquor Store is good for unique pieces and style ideas. Sometimes I've been able to find things that never make their way to regular J Crew stores. I'm a bigger fan of 484 B-way though.

  6. Some Assembly, thanks for the heads up. I was planning on going to both 5th and the Liquor store; but now I will go just to 5th. I'm not too proud to scope out the sale rack.
