  1. I finally got around to wearing the Banana Republic scallop-neck sweater I ordered a few weeks ago. It's lightweight but not nearly as much as the Tippi sweater. It's super-soft & I don't believe it will be prone to snagging. I found it to be true-to-size - throughout the body & the arms. I ordered the lilac shade which is lovely - I thought it was slightly sheer but maybe that's because I wore a dark grey tank under it (I wore it with dark grey ankle pants) so next time I wear it I could probably get away with a nude bra / nude cami & it would be fine. All-in-all I think this is a FAB sweater & I may order it in navy or black as well.

    1. Friends & Family started at BR so I'm considering ordering a few more merino sweaters. BR has such gorgeous colors! Bra tip - make sure you're not wearing a shiny fabric nude bra. I thought all the merinos (BR & JCrew) were getting thinner but it was my stupid new bras. When I tried in with the matte fabric nude bra, no problem! 😉

    2. @shopalot hahahaha oh noooo! I don't think I own any fancy shiny bras so that won't be an issue for me. I forgot that BR F&F started today! Thanks for the reminder.

    3. I know - crazy, right? The satin fabric reflects light right through the sweater. Never thought the sweater was the problem but it was the bra - ha!

    1. I ordered 5 100% merino sweaters--staples! I got the 50% off then 10% off, then I had $25 rewards, so I paid $150 total for the five sweaters. I forgot ebates though. :P

Unfortunately other than staples I'm still not liking BR too much these days. Still too much poly and an over-assortment of weird tops.

    2. Great score! I picked up a floral top, pencil skirt, and a pair of heels, but I'm confident I will wear all frequently. I'm with you though, it's hard to find lots of pieces to love. Way too many weird ruffles and ugly prints.

    3. @lili yeah I really think they could benefit from editing down their line and not having so many SKUs, and then just really focus on nailing the stuff they do put out. Def lots of weird ruffles and prints this spring. I am not against poly 100% of the time but they don't have any silk options anymore for those of us who prefer that.

    4. Thanks for the heads up! My cart was full of things I wanted to try, but wouldn't without a promo. This one is great! Crossing fingers their white tees aren't sheer.

    5. I ordered the Gingham Maxi Dress. It has one negative review but I'm really hoping it works.

  3. Neiman Marcus website has a nice clearance section with an extra 20% off. I got 2 Elie Tahari dresses for $110 and $130 each, and a Theia cocktail dress for $160. Def worth checking out. Also I get free 2-day shipping and returns with my ShopRunner membership which is free to Amex holders.

  5. I received a large order from Kate Spade after the big 25% promo this weekend. I love 2 things and the 3rd I'm on the fence about. I love the scarf tee! It's so cute with little tassels hanging off the tee. A bit sheer to wear without a cami to work but would probably be ok without a cami on the weekend. I also love the striped tassel top. It's such a fun piece. The shoulders are a bit wide so if you don't like to accentuate your shoulders this is not your top. I have small shoulders and I find this top balances out my wide hips. Good length and fabric too. The 3rd item I'm unsure about is the eyelet top. It runs a little big and the peplum is very exaggerated. I don't really find it flattering but I only briefly tried it on with the jcrew sailor skirt I had on and that wasn't the right bottom. I'll give it another try this weekend but I'm pretty sure it's a return.

I also picked up the loft ruffle sweater with the 40% off. It's very cute and and will be a workhorse for me. The fabric is soft and I don't think it will pill but it was so cheap that it's ok if it only lasts a couple of years.

Also, Boden has some really cute new stuff. Check them out!
